Nice and friendly. Very good staff and outstanding menu with full of choices.

We stopped at Bleu for a quick coffee and glass of beer. However, the place, the atmosphere, the waiter and Jason, the manager made us feel so welcome and they were so nice and friendly that we stayed for dinner. Dinner was super, great quality, perfect presentation. Service was impeccable. This has been by far one of the best restaurant experiences we had in years. THANK YOU with all my heart! -Paolo

Nice enough bistro in a lovely location in Amsterdam. The interior of the restaurant is very tasteful and intimate. The food is also nice and as described. Would have expected slightly higher quality of the meat from the tartare, but was still tasty. Wine selection is good!

Combination of mediocre service and sub par food. We made reservations for 8:30pm. I arrived 15 minutes early and waited at the reception area, nobody even acknowledged us for 15 min, walked passed us like we were invisible, even though it was very clear we were waiting to talk to someone. Once we were finally seated, drinks were incorrect, food came really slowly, like an hour for the food to come, only 2 appetizers between 8 people. Lobster was so overcooked, the meat was like jerky. Took us 4 asks to get water and another 4 for ketchup. Many of the waiters and waitress didn't seem busy, just ineffective. There was only one waiter, trying to do his job. At the end when we paid for the bill, we asked to have it split between everyone. After every single person from the party paid, they still said we were owing €30+ dollars. My friend paid twice, €60 for a couple beers and a burger. THEN after thinking he covered the rest of the bill, they called us back and said we were still missing 4€. Would not go back, would not recommend.

Got there in time for our reservation, but we had to wait ten minutes by the door for our table to be cleaned. The place was very full, so the staff was overwhelmed and couldn't keep up with the customers. Long waiting times, so not great service overall, but the food was great. We had the burger and the spätzle, highly recommend both.

Amazing food! We had a party of six to black and blue, but was told we couldn't fit, so the barstaff rang Blue to book us a table there, and holy smokes what a great place! Liena and Hadi looked after us, gave us the best advice on food and drinks, and a great history lesson of the location (I think you need to out the mattress under the stairs again!) - service was impeccable, highly recommend these two for their hospitality The steak I had... O yes! amazing! (Photo) We ate so much finely cooked, perfectly seasoned food, matched with perfect wines, we had to roll down the stairs afterwards. In the words of my wife, it was.... "The best Duck I've ever had"

Lovely space and we hoped for a great meal but very disappointed with food. Husband ordered a steak medium rare. It came out cold and basically raw . We tend not to send food back but this was inedible. So steak was sent back. It came back 5 minutes later. It was still not even rare, but lukewarm and bloody. However, at this point waitress had disappeared and we couldn’t get her attention for 20 minutes. The gentleman sitting next to us also had to send his steak back 3x. I have no idea why the chef was unable to come close to properly cooking a steak—when it’s a feature on the menu. I had the mussels and they were ok—but oddly didn’t have much flavor in the broth. It was a very bland pot of mussels, although a very large number. We hoped to have a great meal and this was a definite miss

Wandered in with no booking and they were full. However we were offered a seat in a small but perfectly formed waiting area for 2 people. Then got taken to the table a short while later. Gambas - Excellent Cote de Boeuf - Excellent Rioja - Excellent I was even able to have a quick chat with the chef about their Josper bbq oven. A real treat and all topped off with very friendly and professional staff. Highly recommended. Thank you!

Beautiful place and they play such nice music too. The service was fast and kind.

The chef's steak was the wrost steak we ever had, we asked for medium rare, and we got well-done with a single drop of juice, the meat tasted like liver. We also had their chicken which was supposed to be cooked in their charcoal josper oven. I really want to know how they used that oven to deliver the most tasteless chicken ever. And the cherry on the top of the cake, the whole restaurant smelled like sewage.

The food here was actually pretty good. They smoke chicken and other meats in something called a Josper. Unfortunately the stench coming from the bathroom permeated throughout the restaurant. Also, we came for Restaurant week in Amsterdam--which aims to bring the community out to local restaurants with a slight (20 euro) discount. Once we walked in and the wait staff saw this they told us to leave within one hour and did everything they could to flip the table. Zombie service, a shame.

The restaurant is really top. It was super good and reasonable price!! I highly recommend.

Great spot for a drink and a snack near fashionable Kaisergracht. Friendly, perky staff, nice decor and good quality food and wine. Nice play list as well.

Great date night place. We had the charcuterie board to start (which was plenty of food for 2), and the Black Angus to share. SO much food. Wine also good value and tasted great. Was a lovely atmosphere and the waiting staff so friendly. Thanks for a lovely night!

The choice of food here is good, but the quality was just okay. The best dish we ordered was the escargot.

Amazing dinner! We had the stake and mussels and both were perfect. Didn’t get to try dessert because they were out of what I wanted to order. They offered us complimentary coffee instead. Great hospitality, great atmosphere.

Super cozy interior! The staff was very nice and always checked if everything is alright. The food tasted really good, but for some reason with every main food item you also automatically order fries. This makes sense for the steaks, but for the other items on the menu not really fitting. Weird that this is standard. Otherwise very satisfied!

Food was tasty. Service was kind. Place had a funky smell especially downstairs like sewage or toilet. We could hear a lot of coughing in the kitchen. Staff was smoking a lot outside but never washed their hands. So hygiëne wise needs to improve.

We got table at the back where there was no nice atmosphere when sitting next to a damaged wallpaper. Had to ask for a cutlery for the snails which wasn't brought with the dish. The steak was cold and raw, not rare, but raw. And we ordered some more drinks to have with our main course, but they were never brought. Not a pleasant experience. Would not recommend.

Beautiful Restaurant. A bit pricey, but good food.

Eating at Bistro Bleu was awesome. The food was amazing and the place was really lively, though we did start off a bit annoyed. But that didn't really spoil the whole fun evening. On a busy Saturday night, I felt excited but also a bit mixed up. The bistro was full of energy, but we had a small problem at the start. We were sitting upstairs, kind of alone, and it took slightly more than 20 minutes just to get our drinks. This little mix-up was a bit of a letdown at first. And, trying to get a server's attention to order our food, even though they were close by, was a bit annoying. It looked like people sitting downstairs got their orders faster. As the night went on, any small issues we had at first were quickly forgotten because the food was just so good. Starters The scallops were amazing – cooked just right and came with a really tasty pillow of peas that was a nice surprise. The smoked salmon on toast was simple but really well done, with great quality ingredients that all worked well together. Main Courses The French Fish Stew really stood out. It was a big, tasty mix of seafood, veggies, and a creamy sauce, and there was so much of it I couldn’t even finish it all. My partner had a Black Angus tenderloin that was just perfect – it looked great and tasted even better, especially with the peppery sauce that made it even more special. Dessert The Tarte Tatin with caramel ice cream was the perfect end to a great meal. It was just the right size for sharing. Final Thoughts Bistro Bleu really shows off how good food and drinks can be, all in a lively and pretty place. The slow service at the start was a small hiccup, probably because they needed more staff. And if you want your food faster, sitting downstairs might be a good idea. But honestly, the quality of the food stands out on its own, regardless of the wait. Bistro Bleu is definitely a place you should try, with each dish feeling like it was made with a lot of attention 🙌🏻

We slurped mussels here after going to Deco Sauna. It’s a charming spot and the mussels were good not the best. My broth is better, just saying.

Really tasteful food for an excellent price and such a cosy place to get a romantic dinner for two. All the dishes, cocktails and desserts were just simply amazing and the staff was very helpful and kind. Definitely would visit this place again

Nice place for dating. The main dish is amazing, especially the catch of the day. While not recommend the starters. It’s too salute for us.
