Absolutely delicious food and super lovely people in the kitchen and service. The food was indescribably delicious, such a good Japanese restaurant we have not yet discovered in Germany. Compared to other local restaurants, the prices are also really in order. Next time in Amsterdam we will definitely come back!

Just down a little lane off the main Damrak road you’ll find this delightful Japanese restaurant offering all the delicious traditional Japanese dishes. Popular at meal times and good seating available in restaurant. Dishes are served quickly and you’re sure to enjoy.

It is a nice little cozy restaurant. The staff were nice and welcoming. We were seated right away, and they checked on us frequently. The foods were actually not bad! All the items were delicious. However I felt it was little on the pricey side considering the portion sizes. But then again, everything is pricy nowadays :P

€8,95 for a “noodle box with chicken”. Not pricey at all, also considering the central location, but even then a below average portion size. As you can see, the portion of chicken is tiny: a few small bits. A mix of vegetables was promised: however I only got white cabbage and I was able to discover a half slice of zucchini and 4 strings of carrot. So, very monotonous meal, and consisting of almost only the noodles and sauce. Nonetheless, the taste was good. Only therefore, 3-stars

I’ve been eating in this restaurant since years and honestly the quality of the food lately dropped drastically so the price increase is totally unreasonable. I took a wok rice with vegetables and shrimps for 10,95€, the rice was totally overcooked with a super soft texture and sticky, I think they just warmed up in the microwave. The vegetables were only few leaves of cabbage and few carrot threads, I had a total of 5 shrimps in the full dish. Really poorly made!

A tourist mom, went with my kiddos while walking around Dam, were excited to a small hole in a wall restaurant thinking of having hot soup during a cold day. However had the worst experience. We ordered 2 ramen soup and 6 sake sushi in total. Since I’m vegetarian, my kids eat sushi, I ordered per piece to ensure the kids don’t waste it. So we ended up ordering 3 times for 2 pieces each sushi. The lady was rude and told me off that I should order all at once and not one by one. The ramen soup was tasteless (tasted like noddles microwaved in hot water) and was mixed with cabbage and few string of carrot and maybe 1-2 mushroom. When request for spicy sauce she nodded her head towards ‘paprika powder’ on the table. Not at all kid friendly, my 3 yr old dropped a bit of rice, the lady complained it’s hard to clean even though I was apologetic. Not worth the money for the food not a pleasant place for hospitality.

They easily catered to my dietary requirements and the food arrived quickly - I could see it being made in the kitchen! Really delicious, definitely recommend.

Such a small cozy restaurant!! We tried the ramen, fried rice chicken and some sushi, all SO GOOD!! Full of flavors, and for us it was a pretty good quantity, as we left completely full. Fully recommend the place ❤️

Good value for money. The ramen and the gyozas were nice.

Another sushi establishment run by the Chinese to maximize profit with their cheap and uninspiring take on usually-sophisticated Japanese cuisine. But maybe this budget diner should lower his expectations a little. Ordered avocado maki and unagi don. The bowl was not even filled to the top, the unagi was microwaved (and not oven-baked, like you’re supposed to do, to achieve the buttery inside and very fine crisp outside of eel). And they covered the bowl with a sauce, to more dramatic effect. Efficient and attentive service.

Is so terrible The food is not enough for the adult only have salt in the rice No recommended for people who love Asian food or Japanese food. I would like to say, I can cook much better than them. Just a rubbish.

Quiet place in the crowded surroundings. Great music inside, giving the asian feel and immersion. Staff is approachable and kind. Menu might not offer the biggest choice, but for me it was sufficient number of options. Personally I had bento box (beef) that was delicious in every bite. Honestly i will be coming back, whenever I'm in Amsterdam.

While in Amsterdam, I was craving for some Asian food and found this spot. I was no so sure at the beginning because of some negative reviews but was surprised that the food was tasty. Glad I gave it a chace.

I cannot phrase into words how lucky I feel for randomly passing by this place! It is amazing ; as someone who has food restrictions and can only eat veggies, japanese restaurants can have a very limited choice of dishes for me, which was not the case at all in Shiki! An excellent menu with delicious food, we came back three consecutive nights during our five-day stay! Would highly recommend :-)

My go-to for a quick stop to get food in Amsterdam. You're paying a good price for the quality you're getting and the woman is very nice. Worth giving a try if you like noodles and sushi for sure.

The only reason there is food missing is because phone didn’t eat first. I did! This was great, hot, flavorful food, and the service was excellent as well! If you’re around eat here!
