A good hidden gem on Queen Street. The food was made brought out very quickly by staff. Lot of sauces available. Would recommend the beef pho! Summer rolls were also a very filling option!

Hanoi Eatery has become my regular go-to spot for Vietnamese food in the central city. Great selection of food. Their Bun Ca (fried fish noodle soup), Pho Bo (beef noodle soup) and Crab noodle soup are my top picks. The crab noodle soup is quite unique, and I would say a rare and authentic find in New Zealand. The owners themselves are Vietnamese and very friendly. Highly recommended.

Located in a diverse food court that is now busy at lunch time (as my friend tells me, there’s huge turnover here especially during Covid). Hanoi Eatery is definitely a standout restaurant for me. I had the bun cha hanoi (pork) and my friend had the fried fish noodle soup. My bun cha was extremely tasty, there were two decent pork meatballs and lots of grilled pork bits, they also gave me a decent portion of rice noodles/greens and the nuoc Cham was super tasty. Great value/taste dish, this is also the BEST bun cha I’ve had in NZ and I don’t even like pork (haha). It doesn’t have a strong pork taste if that makes sense. My friends fish soup was comforting on a windy day but lacked the generosity of the fish to noodle ratio compared to my pork to noodle ratio. I probably wouldn’t order the noodle soup again but would love to try their pho which I can imagine it to be tasty. Again, the bun cha was fantastic ! The only downside is they don’t accept credit cards so come prepared with cash on your card.

This is small counter-serve Vietnamese restaurant in a smallish food court. We liked the Pho so much we ate here twice over a 7 day stay: something amazing about a giant bowl of noodle soup on cold & rainy Auckland days! Husband and wife team work the kitchen and man the counter. Both super nice! On first visit they were cash only (only cash I needed for our entire trip) but on second visit they took credit cards. So, am assuming the machine was down initially. Would definitely eat here again.

I ate B7 menu. It's a little bit spicy originally, but I put some spices for more spicy flavor. Noodles and Meats were soft. And it has coriander a bit, but it's not too much. Enough.

amazing food! First time to try Vietnam noodle soup with fried fish and fish balls! Nice flavor with a great amount of veggies! Tomatoes and green leaves (上海青). Especially in this time when vegetables are super expensive… appreciated! Highly recommend! Reasonable price as well!

We had the Pho Ga and Bun Rieu Cua. The food was excellent, the Bun Rieu Cua has great crab mince, and the soup is very flavourful! This location had the best vietnamese food I have had in Auckland!

Really great food that I’ve had several times. But the service here is honestly bad enough to make me not want to go back anymore. I can’t even ask how long the wait will be as she waves me off and tells me to just wait. I have always been very kind and loved supporting this business but the owners treat me like I’m a burden for buying their food… very unfriendly.

I’m addicted to the chicken pho here 😭 I have been here several times now. The chicken is always tender and the broth is full of flavour. Their price is unbeatable in the CBD - generous amount of noodles and chicken. The owners are also friendly. Although it is located in a busy food court, do give it a try because you will not regret it.

Some of the best and homiest Vietnamese food you'll try in Auckland. I have been going to Hanoi Eatery since 2018 (when it used to be called Hanoi Corner). They have consistently been making great food for all those years and still continue to do so. My go-to order here is the Rare Beef Pho, Egg Banh Mi and the Soy milk with grass jelly. The Pho portions here are very generous, giving you enough that you may have to share with a friend. The bowl comes with lots of that clean but beefy broth. The Egg Banh mi trumps all the Banh mi i've ever had in Auckland. The omelette is soft, salted just right and goes so well with the buttered baguette. The pickled veges pairs well with the egg and the coriander is a must! For $3.50, the Soy milk with grass jelly is actually such a treasure. The soy milk is definitely an asian soy milk - not like the ones you get in the supermarket - so its more soy forward which i enjoy. I never liked grass jelly before but in this drink it works so well. The rice dishes here are also great. They give you lots of vege and a generous amount of meat. I always order too much food but somehow it disappears all too quickly because its so good. Think you'd be pleased with anything you order here!

One of the best Vietnamese food in CBD for me. Beef Pho is my favourite, the way here for the hot soup. Highly recommended.

used to love coming to this place but the service has just gotten worse… stood at the desk for more than 10 mins being ignored and not served. once i left and ordered from the japanese restaurant next to them (was so much quicker and they’re more nicer) the other customers got served and got their food straight away. honestly just not a good vibe anymore and super unhappy with how i was treated. will be going somewhere else.

flavourful broth, perfectly cooked noodles but was let down by the quality of the beef. still the best place in town for pho, in my opinion!

Suggested by a friend of mine who happens to be Vietnamese. The food was good, coffee was average. I believe vietnamese coffee takes a different approach to the age old drink, it's been noted that the specific coffee they use is not of typical of the traditional Vietnamese brewing methods. Hence the inauthentic taste of the beverage. Nonetheless, the food was great. A must revisit!

Great place. Always same lady working hard. I really love how she has different broth for chicken pho and beef pho. Both pho is good. Beef pho broth has strong ginger flavor and its unique. Kind of small business that I like to support.

Didn't enjoy. Normally Vietnemese has herbs and lots of flavour but we got none of that. It was nearly all rice noodles and the sauces/broths were very bland. Bahn mi was average meat on a soft roll. Disappointed.

😐 Lovely atmosphere and great location for bottomless frose! We had a good time however left hungry… we are disappointed with the amount of food you get especially because in the past it was only $50 for bottomless froze AND a foot long pizza per person.
