I was really excited to try Rude Boy Deli & Eatery, but unfortunately, it didn't live up to my expectations. The cafe is conveniently located near City Works Depot, so there is ample parking and a short walk to the cafe. The ambiance is welcoming with well-lit spaces and a variety of seating options. The menu at Rude Boy Deli & Eatery is extensive, offering made-to-order dishes as well as a wide range of cabinet items including desserts, pastries, noodles, sandwiches, and more. I ordered the hot dog, and while the presentation was lovely, the taste fell short. The bun was too hard, making it difficult to bite into, and the hot dog itself was tough and hard to pull apart. I only ate half of it there and ended up discarding the rest at home, which was disappointing considering the price of $26 for a "gourmet" hot dog. My partner had the Creamy Mushrooms, which was average and left him unsatisfied. Another person in our group ordered noodles from the cabinet but received them in a chipped bowl. It was a bit of a letdown. Although the serving sizes were decent, the lack of flavor was a disappointment that the portion sizes couldn't compensate for. The restaurant wasn't very busy that morning, so there was no justification for the subpar taste of the food. I believe this place has potential but definitely needs to do more taste testing. I do want to mention that the service we received from the wait staff was great. Perhaps it was just an off day in the kitchen. However, considering the numerous cafe dining options available in Auckland Central, I won't be rushing back to Rude Boy Deli & Eatery.

*Updated 5/12/23: Enjoyed our meals today, keep up the good work! *Updated 21/5/23: As you can see the bacon is now thick cut even though we ordered "streaky". Would have been good to be aware of this change on the menu or while making the order as I wouldn't have ordered any. Friends shoe string fries have also changed to thick cut chips "wedges" which again wouldn't have been ordered. Ciabata crust was too hard to cut and inedible. Points lost and probably wouldn't hurry back. *Updated 13/11/22: As below however eggs were tasteless this time. Nice cosy cafe with decent food and coffee.

Very tasty and fresh, high quality ingredients and nice atmosphere. Many many dessert options as well! Contrary to what some of the other reviews say, I found the staff to be helpful and nice. Overall, good brunch spot!

A really busy cafe, has great cabinet food - salads/lunch foods during the weekday for quick mid work lunch and a gorgeous selection of asian style cakes on the weekend. I love their fresh cream cakes in particular! This choco strawberry cake was also so good. Not too sweet :)

Went to rude Boy Deli one late Saturday arvo, just as they were cleaning up getting ready to close. So for a minute we thought we'd be shunted off on our merry way... but we weren't. They welcomed us in and told us to 'take our time' (which we'd never been told before at that time of the day by any cafe!!). So we ordered to make it worth their while. Lots of delights to choose from and a wonderful choice of teas and smoothies. They were ever so obliging - service-wise so we tipped them! I'd go there again - any day!! Thank-you Rude Boys - you guys are not that rude after all!!

Nice menu. Decent sized portions. Great dessert/cake selection. Go hungry or go home! Recommended.

Huge variety of fresh cream cakes, tart cakes and cheesecakes to choose from and the variety seems to change each time I go. First time trying food from menu, slightly expensive but tasted good

Wow, this place is amazing. Food was to die for. We ordered pork belly bene and big breakfast. Taste was sòoo good.

Love the fit out at Rude Boy, which gives the place a great atmosphere. Their cabinet slices are some of the best you’ll find, however I did find the service to be really slow and had to wait close to 15 minutes for what was meant to be a quick coffee on the run. Food was beautifully presented but to me just missing some flavours. Staff were friendly but forgot cutlery so had to go looking for it myself. Will probably go back as they have more items on the menu. Pictures are strawberry croissant and pork belly Benedict.

Best oat flat whites in Auckland which surprisingly is hard to find. Rude Boy find the perfect balance of coffee to oat milk, not being too milky or sour (depending on brand of oat milk) as often other places are. We often find ourselves coming back here since there’s food coffee, decent food and usually parking available nearby. Food isn’t bad. It’s a bit pricier but the portions are big so make up for it there. Be warned, the type of fries they use changes so one time you may get shoestring fries and the next you Amy get chunky wedge style (so good). My partner now repeatedly gets the chilli scrambled eggs so must be good. I’ve tried the hotdog twice now and isn’t bad. The coleslaw that comes with it is smothered in mayo though so not the greatest. This times bratwurst was a bit sweeter than last time and with less of a snap but still a decent meal. Their fried chicken wasn’t my favourite and not something I’d get again. The Turkish egg cilbir wasn’t bad but is very yoghurt forward and can be a surprise if not prepared for it. Space is also good for big groups which is a plus. But be warned of overly friendly sparrows who may try take a swipe at your meal.

best pancakes I’d ever had. Super decent portion sizes and the flavours the pancakes were paired with were top notch. The cabinet food is also next level! So many options it took forever to choose, and they all looked superb. Beautiful coffee and hot chocolate. I cannot recommend highly enough, ill be coming back every time I’m in Auckland!

I was really excited to visit Rude Boy because of all the marketing on instagram, the food was great but the service wasn't. We went upto order since nobody came to take our order when we were seated and generally if there was a rule to order at the counter it would be mentioned or even noted some place and I apologize if I seemed to not see it if it was mentioned some place. I work in customer service myself and I understand that there are down days but that isn't an excuse to make customers feel unwelcome when serving with the energy that was in the room that day. I have been a loyal customer for quite some time, drawn in by the delightful taste of your coffee and food. The quality has always been consistent, and I've generally been extremely satisfied with my purchases. However, my recent experiences have left me feeling disappointed. For the past 3-4 days, my orders have not been made according to my specifications. I've always preferred my coffee extra hot and made it clear when placing my order. Regrettably, I've been receiving lukewarm coffee, which is far from what I expect and enjoy. I would appreciate it if the staff could pay closer attention to my order requests, ensuring that they are prepared as specified. I trust that this feedback will be taken constructively, and I look forward to seeing improvements in my future visits.

This place was really busy during lunch hours! The chicken filo and salads were all delicious, and they were good value for money! Had high expectations for the cakes but there weren’t that many options (just 2 cakes), and the sponge inside the cake didn’t taste that fresh - so we ended up only eating the cream and strawberries and not the part with the sponge cake.

Gorgeous cafe with gorgeous food (and gorgeous staff? 😉). Everything was tasty & the waitress was so nice. There are so many great options; I'd love to come back & try more when I get the chance.
