Perfect wine tasting experience and one of the best steak I’ve had so far. Love the wine tasting combination on the menu, plenty options to choose from with reasonable price. The staffs were also very lovely and knowledgeable about wine. Highly recommended the Ghost Town Flight for your wine tasting. The food is a little pricey to be honest however all dishes were delicious. Another bonus to the classy vibe with the cellar wines decorations. Definitely come back for more.

We were super pleased to stumble on this place looking for a restaurant on a rainy night. The wine flights were well curated and a fun way to try notable regions/varietals of New Zealand. The pizzas were delicious, a great way to make have a meal with your wine tasting.

The space is really well designed and has a nice vibe. The wine selection is quite nice, and the food was tasty. We tried the duck and the fish crudo, and both were nice. But the service... One of us asked for an apple juice in a wine glass - the waiter almost laughed at their face. We had a set menu, which was supposed to come with the home foccacia bread. We got a different bread instead, which was put in the middle of the table as it was intended to be shared. The dishes were almost thrown at us. And some arrived quite left - no explanation, no sorry...

We have been twice now, both on a Friday afternoon. Sunny days and we thought it would have been busier but it wasn't. We enjoy Mt Difficulty wines and that is what drew us there. There is a good wine list and great concept of wine tasting. We had cocktails on one occasion and they were very good. We also had pizza which was OK. However, the chap greeting us on both occasions was not particularly welcoming. No enthusiasm or interest which was disappointing as he made us feel like we were just another nuisance customer. No information volunteered or excitement on what they had to offer. I can understand if the place was full but on both occasions there were only a few tables with patrons. The place just didn't have much of an atmosphere. A shame because the wines are great and the position is good.

We decided to check out SOMM, Princes Wharf on Sunday afternoon and had a very enjoyable time. Such a great concept to hero NZ wines and to do so by region and your choice / favourite variety. There are 4 tasting glasses to a flight and they are a generous 75mm pour so half a standard glass. Of course you can order by the glass or bottle, though many were taking advantage of the flight offerings. The decor is smart and sophisticated and the service outstanding - friendly and super fast to get your experience underway. Bruno from Chile was our SOMM / manager for the afternoon and was very welcoming and knowledgable. As the wine bar got busy there was a great chilled vibe as people soaked up the lovely weather whilst exploring the extensive wine list. This location has always had the benefit of wonderful sunshine most of the day and Sunday didn't disappoint - the glasses were sparkling and everyone was having a great time! Must say the pizzas were delicious and super light. Very impressed, we have needed a classy wine bar in Auckland for a long time - NZ wines focus will be a big drawcard. We look forward to many more enjoyable visits.

Over from Australia for 2 weeks staying at Princes Wharf have visited somm twice. Great food and wine. Staff very professional. Thanks especially to Doug and Erik for making our trip so special. Definitely worth a visit.

This is a great little wine place, in walking distance to viaduct. They have a great selection of wines and offer tasting options too. We didn't eat here but they do have food available, which looked delicious. Venue is beautiful and feels luxurious. Will definitely be visiting again!
