Unbelievably good Pitas! The pita bread itself is so light and fluffy, the falafel is crunchy on the outside but still moist on the inside. The sweet treats are also awesome 👌 cannot fault the food and coffee here.

It is such a neat little place.. So popular and busy. The best falafel I have ever tasted. Come back a couple of times, the guy who take my order remember me with or without mask, so nice and friendly. I brought a friend with me today, we both love it. I wish I live as close as my friends does.. Yum..

The standout dish at this place is undoubtedly the falafel, which will transport you back to the comforting flavors of your Middle Eastern grandma's cooking. However, the pastry was average, and it was a bit too sweet for my taste. On the bright side, the staff were friendly and accommodating. The ambiance is very cozy, although at times it can get quite busy, making it a challenge to find available seating.

One of the best street food I ever had in my life. Everything is fresh and so yummy. The falafel are unbelievable. Always so busy, we know why. The owner is so nice. You need to stop there if you are in Auckland.

WOW! I take my hat off. This is hospitality at its finest. Bravo Carmel! The food is absolutely amazing, the service is fast, extremely attentive, and the atmosphere is great. Kudos to the owner and manager who was there greeting everyone and making sure the food and drink service was quick and very efficient. The staff was dedicated, quick, and friendly. Only 5 stars because there are no more to give. I will be back as often as I can. Please do not change.

Wow what am amazing place! Popped by on a Saturday lunchtime and the place was absolutely heaving with a line out the door. Despite this, I was served super quick and it didn’t take food too long to arrive. Nice touch giving a sample of felafel when you order - so yummy and delicious. We ordered the felafel pita and the crispy chicken challah. Both were amazing - really big servings with loads of fresh hot felafel / chicken inside. Really good value as we were both so full after. Absolutely loved the food and can’t wait to come back Definitely recommend

The best Pita ever had. Don’t think so there is any competition to this. Super fresh food. Coffee was also very nice. You can feel the freshness of food just by seeing it. Lots of pastry option. Very quick service. Just awesome.

[Edit 14/05/23 - Finally went back and tried the chicken schnitzel on challah bread. Would also hightly recommend! That mango salsa is the bomb. The schnitzel was super generous - I think I had 3 think pieces in my sandwich! Whether you go with the classic felafel or the chicken schnitzel, you just can't go wrong. 👌 The Biscoff treats are a must. And there's this lemon cheesecakey filling that's super tasty. Still super busy, so I would recommend going when it's sunny/when the weather is decent because the lines goes right out the door. And also so you have the option to sit outside, or to take it away to the nearest park to eat. But don't let the limited seating stop you from going. // Edit ends. ] Best felafel I've had, hands down. I'm terrible at figuring out what herbs I'm eating, but I could taste the freshness and full flavours of what ever had been jam-packed into those tasty treats. The pastries were all quite interesting too - I rather liked the Ube rugelach. That being said, I definitely ordered too much. If you had to choose, just go with the felafel. Delicious and satisfying. Do note that it gets suuuuper busy. I was lucky to have come in just before the lunch rush. And then the queue was out the door. As its quite a small place, it can be hard to find a seat. So probably best to come in when it's sunny. So you can take your meal away and eat elsewhere.

Beautiful soft pita bread with delicious filling of chicken and crispy falafel. A very popular spot, a few tables inside to dine in.

Amazing food! As close as to Middle East you can get. One of kind food! Rugelach was divine! Falafel pita was great. Crispy green falafel and fluffy in the inside, with sour pickles, great spices and topped with Amba! You won't find any better in Auckland!

Randomly found this place. What a gem! The food is fresh and delicious. The range of pastries is impressive. Really enjoyed my pita with falafel and top notch chai latte. Place is busy but worth the wait.

Brought some of their online goods for pick up. The ube rugelach croissant was amazing. It had a nice ube flavour with a nice bready texture. The topping on top added some nice crispiness to it. I also got some of the gviniot cheese cake danish and it was tasty and interesting. It was like a creamy lemon cheese sauce inside some pastry. We also got some of their pita bread and it was much more filling than a normal one from the store. It smelt so good driving back from the store. Definitely, a place to try for something different. I am keen to try their babka and challa.

Amazing service from the team here. My wife has a mango allergy and they catered to our needs with professionalism and enthusiasm. The pita was impeccable. Filling and delicious. Spice has a good kick, and pita bread was very fluffy. All the pastries was delicious also. I essentially got one of each and shred with family. All were well received. Will definitely be back!

There were really too many customers over the weekend, but the food was served quickly and the service was great. I recommend all the pita! It would be better if the music in the store could be played at a lower volume, then we could have had two cups of coffee, and the staff would not have missed that we ordered two cups of coffee. Because there were too many customers, we didn't want to wait in line again.

I loved their baked goods, there is so many options to choose from. The bread was very soft and fluffy, not too sweet I really enjoyed it. The savoury food was delicious and we didn’t have to wait a long time for it to be served.

Yummy falafel pita and purple yam Rugelach! Tried to come back for a takeaway but its always long queue and full packed on a Saturday. The 3 schnitzel in a sandwich is too much to fit in a bun/sandwich. this would be better if it can be served on a plate and then will fit in 1-2 schnitzels however we like it. It was too messy to eat. We appreciate the small falafel as a freebie.☺️

We made a special trip form the South Island mainly to visit Carmel's as per Sheena and Thomas - Chasing a Plate - youtube. So pleased we did. Excellent busy place - queuing to the door but moves fast. Pita is gorgeous and baked items fantastic. Well done guys - keep it up. Shalom!

The baked goods at Carmel are TO DIE FOR. The Chocolate & halva cake was inhaled by my partner in 2 days and I’d totally recommend the Ube croissants for anyone who doesn’t like things too sweet. Moreover, the customer service by Carmel and Tom was impeccable and I felt completely safe getting my goods during lockdown. Can’t wait to try their pitas!! Edit: finally got to try the pitas and they were delicious! Super fresh and tasty. Try it with the pickled mango sauce if you’re adventurous! You won’t regret it!
