Poor service staff, be careful about the air con charges, they will simply pass you the remote control upon check in without telling you that there is CHARGES FOR USING AIR CON 3 euros per day until half way through your stay... Why don't they tell us in the beginning so we can either return the remote if we decide not to use or simply pay off right from the start? Feeling cheated! Now this place has no lift so if you are carrying a huge luggage, you should not stay here as you will a have to battle yourself up a flight of extremely narrow stairs. The room is extremely small and old unlike what you see in the photos. Overall, i would not recommend this place to anyone.

The staying was alright although i expected a bigger Room, the staff was generally nice but one night i tried to take someone to my Room (single Room with private bathroom) and instead of politely saying that i couldnt, the man just started to yell at me and kicked us out... The Next day i asked if it was possible to let a friend take a shower in my Room and again he started to yell at us and threatned to call the Police on me... I can understand the no visitors policy but there was no excuse to yell and be rude when i'm paying for a service and i always asked and explained the situation, never tried to sneak anyone inside.. So for sure i wont came back to this hostel.

Before booking I carefully checked the photos of the room and based my choice on them, but when I arrived the property gave me another, much worse room. I was looking forward to staying in a bright room, with a nice balcony and a cute view of the Basilica de Santa Maria del Pi, I paid for it 80€ per night, only to receive a completely different room: a tiny dark one, with no windows directly in a room itself but in a corridor niche, with closed off balcony surrounded by walls and metal sheets. Unaccaptable. When I asked, the reception didn’t want to give us the room that I booked, so I had to cancel the reservation and the property decided to not refund me for that. Definitely not reccomending this place.

How not to leave 5 stars for this price / location / sympathy / cleanliness ?! Ok the neighbourhood can be "loud" but when it comes 23:00 it's calm. Who goes to bed at 22 in vacation ? You can bring earplugs. Room for 1person is small but enough ! Perfect as a base to sleep and rest. I recommend to everyone who travels on a budget and need a place to stay a few days.

The pictures we saw when we booked the room were very nice and rooms looked clean etc. We stayed here for one night with my partner and we payed for 6 nights. Our experience was awful. In the room we could smell mold and it was very heavy to breath, our legs and arms felt very itchy. After one night sleep we felt like we are gonna get sick, lungs got very plugged. Our white towel had yellow stains. There was hole and stains on the wall. Bathroom was very dirty. Looked like there was black mold but I'm not sure. We complained to the staff immediately when we first saw the room but they said manager will be there next day. We talked to the manager and showed pictures of dirty places. He was not sorry at all and didn't offer any refund. So we checked-out from the hotel because it didn't feel safe for our health to stay there. Staff didn't apologize for any of this. And obviously we didn't get our money back. I can't recommend this hotel/hostel if you have any standards.

One of the worst accommodation I've ever seen.. - feeling of dirtiness everywhere - bad smell from the toilet and the hostel location 24/7 - overall expensive (35€ per night per person) I would never go there again

Hotel Palermo, Barcelona is a catastrophe for the Tourist: unfriendly service personnel, tiny rooms, not functioning air condition so we left, the receptionist at night when we arrived did not speak a word english, we were all helpless then! Never book this Hotel in Barcelona! J. Harrison from Scotland Bobong from Switzerland Loloy from Germany

Very small place, small room, not luxury at all, it is located in the Gothic area next to the rambla. Good for young travelers not older ones or businessmen

Very close to the Rambla on the edge of the Gothic Quarter. No frills but very good value. The room was small but clean and perfect for a short business trip. Considering its central location, it was also very quiet.

I thought this hotel was convenient when i stayed there and a great value for the money. Fast forward to me forgetting a piece of luggage there due to travel plans changing last minute and leaving in a hurry. The property never answered emails or phone calls about the missing luggage - which had valuable items and also items with my name they couldve easily used to contact me. I can only be left to believe that people working here stole my personal property without attempting to contact me and sold it for profit. Because of this i have to give one star and i advise people to not stay here, OR find anway to lock their belongings while staying there. Definitely do not leave anything in the luggage room or forget anything there. Quite a shame because the property was in a great location and great value for money - as someone who lived in Barcelona, i can tell yoj it cant be beat but now i see how they actually can afford to stay open.

I had a private room at Hostal Palermo. The room was clean and staff was friendly. You have to Pay 3 euro a day for air conditioning. The hostal has a very long and narrow staircase and no elevator so it was hard to bring up luggage and if you have any mobility problems I would not recommend this hostal. Otherwise, we had a great stay! The location and price were unbeatable!

Very good hotel to sleep and shower, it’s cheap clean and quiet, near metro and bus station, you can go every where you want, the stuff was very helpful and nice, nothing to complain about, hope to visit Barcelona soon.

The location is good, the staff are friendly. The rooms are quite shabby, the shower barely worked, the walls are thin, and it's unusual that you have to return your keys and then recollect them each time you enter and leave. Most of the value is in the location, but it's still kinda pricey.

Don't expect much. It's a place for sleep and shower between sightseeing, and for these purposes it serves great. Sure rooms aren't huge, hallways are pretty narrow, but they are clean and neat. Staff is super friendly and helpful. WiFi is great. Location is literally next to La Rambla, heart of touristic Barcelona. Only downside for me, roof terrace is open only within designated hours, not 24h :(. AC in the rooms is paid extra, but it's pocket money, also there isn't really that hot in these rooms. Fridge and safe is available in the room.

Location: absolutely perfect. Service was good. That said, the rooms, stairs and corridors are terribly small. The walls are thin. Woke up at 1:00 in the night by the noise of a fire alarm and the smell of weed. If you're not planning to stay much at the hostel, I'd consider booking. Though, with the curfew I would not recommend it. Also, if you're looking for a bit of space and comfort, this hostel won't make your day.
