September 2023 Location It may seem like a reasonable walk from the Train Station to the Hotel. To log the bags on some uneven street and water puddle was not easy. Walking distance to catch Light Rail to airport was about 9 mins walk. Walking to view the city centre was reasonable. Plenty of walking. Storage Room Very good. Reasonably secured. Room 12sqm. Looks small. Just enough space for 1 open medium size bag and the other close. The body wash and shampoo is great for my skin. Unfortunately, no English channel on TV. Bed, 2 single. Very comfortable and warm. Fridge That comes in handy for my cheese purchase. No Kettle In room. But, available at the reception. Which comes in handy for your hot drink in the evening. Bring your own tea/coffee etc. Bathroom Has floor heater. Awesome to stand on. Breakfast Please include breakfast in your booking. It's one of the best place for breakfast. Plenty of choices. But, we aware. It's the same each day. Yet, I loved it. Service We were hoping to have an early check in. Unfortunately, that did not happen. Very disappointed. The front desk, is polite. Go ahead, book a room.

The rooms are by far the tiniest I have ever seen in this price range - there was no space for two persons and an open suitcase at the same time, one had to take refuge in the bathroom - and the cleaners did not do a very good job. But the breakfast was great, and the location smack in the middle of the (newer) center of town.

We are a group of 13 friends who toured Norway in 15 days. Every day we had booked 6 rooms in different hotels. Because we would be making a trip of 3,500 km, meaning we would be on the road for many hours, we had arranged all the reservations and payments several months before. We chose payment at the time of booking at all hotels. We booked 4 rooms at this particular hotel. Each room cost 296 euros for 2 days. Only in this hotel did we face a problem. 4 rooms were booked and we were charged for one room. When I saw it I emailed and asked if there had been a mistake. They never answered me!! After a week I sent a second email and asked again if there was a mistake and when they will keep the rest of the money. They completely ignored me. I didn't know if a mistake had been made and the hotel had reserved 1 room. A week before the trip, a charge was made to my card from the hotel with an amount of 308 euros. I didn't know exactly what this charge was. I printed all the movements through booking to be able to prove to the hotel what I have done. We arrived at the hotel on the day of the reservation at 23.30 tired after many km. We were 9 people with a lot of luggage and all we wanted was to go to the toilet, rest, take a bath. At the reception they wouldn't let anyone up to the room unless the bill was settled first. The situation became more complicated when they asked us to pay for 3 rooms. I showed the papers that I had paid 296 euros during the reservation and then the second charge with 308 euros. I would still have to pay for only 2 rooms. The girl at the reception tried to find the charges and finally after some time it was found that the 308 euros had been returned to my card a few days ago. I hadn't realized it during the trip. Finally they asked us to pay 3 rooms for 311 euros  . It took 45 minutes until we settled the account. Half of the group slept on the tables near the reception. In the 15 days on the tour of Norway we stayed in many hotels. We had prepaid in all the hotels and as soon as we arrived we went directly to our rooms. It is the only hotel that suffering   us so much.

The people at the reception had a 'can't be bothered' attitude. I interacted with 4 different receptionists during my stay and they were all the same. Not rude but definitely not friendly either. I had the single room, it was smaller and louder than expected but quite comfortable. I had a study nook overlooking the park that I thoroughly enjoyed. They had a really, really good breakfast and the chef at the egg station was very kind and made sure I had an authentic Norwegian breakfast experience. He made my day. The location is the best part of this hotel though, even the bus to Bergen airport stops right across from it. Overall, I'd stay again.

Very centrally located hotel in Bergen, less than a 15-minute walk from the train station. Traveling alone, I used a single bed room. The room was clean and had sufficient space, including a desk where I did some work on my computer. The overall decor of the hotel is a bit dated, but the breakfast is the best I have ever had! The room does not have a stocked minibar, but there is a self-service option near the reception. Overall, highly recommended hotel if the purpose is to spend most of the day out exploring Bergen.

Our stay at the hotel in Bergen was simply wonderful. The staff were welcoming and attentive, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the breakfast spread was delicious. Highly recommend!

The hotel has a nice location as it's only several minutes from the last stop of the city rail coming from the airport. Scandic Byparken needs a bit of renovation. Our room was quite small but rather clean. Also queit, because our window was to the back yard. The service was okay, polite, especially the young guy at the reception. All the attractions are very close. One huge plus of the hotel is their breakfast! By now the best choice and variety. One of the best we had. So concerning this, we can close eyes for some small minuses. PS our stay was in late May :)

Extremely disappointed with the hotel and with Bergen itself. We visited Norway and travelled to Oslo, Balestrand, Flam, Bergen and Alesund and I must say, Bergen was my worst stay experience ever. We are globe trotters and have travelled the world . If there is one place with the most rude "locals", Bergen tops the list. A lady in a veil for eg. at Bergen lectured me on following rules while crossing the road in Norway just when a local Norwegian jaywalked the zebra crossing. Either they are racists or they plain dont like tourists. We are Indians and the experience for us was the worst. Coming to the hotel , we had pre booked 4 rooms here and had already give our credit card details . We arrived at 10.30 PM from our ferry and on reaching the reception , we were told they could not find our booking. After some clicks they did find our booking but could not give us rooms since their records showed that our credit card was stolen. This same credit card was with us at that time however they refused to accept that. We had a 4 yr old child with us and it was already 10.40 pm .Anyway they put this to rest for the time being and started arguing about not finding all the Scandic friends membership numbers (we were 8 people in 4 rooms) All their helpline numbers dont answer after 7 pm so we were at their mercy. After almost an hour they give us the rooms. All were supposed to be of the same category but 2 of the rooms were not larger than a broom closet!!! To top this, the attitude really sucked! Again as I mention, either they are pure racists or tourist haters. Considering that a majority of their economy runs purely on tourism and majority of travellers are Indians of the brown race, this reflects very poorly on them!! We were very disappointed with the people, the hotel staff and the city in general. I would like to mention though that Isac at the reception counter was very warm, friendly and always willing to help. Will never visit this hotel again! and a word out to the staff and the locals who probably still believe that they are supreme, there are way better places for tourists to visit than Bergen where they are treated warmly and with respect!!!!PS: We did get to interact with the Scandic helpline number the next day, and he was the rudest of them all. Harshly asked us to stop talking while he would talk or else he would cut our call. And we are talking about the "hospitality" industry here!!!!!

This hotel in Bergen exceeded our expectations. The staff was super friendly and helpful, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The location is perfect for exploring the city. Can't wait to come back!

Fantastic location, steps away from main transit center (far enough to sleep well). Night life, views, and restaurants within a few minutes walk.

Best part of the hotel was the INCREDIBLE breakfast buffet. The selection of foods was incredible. Enough to fill you up so that you can skip lunch ! Great location to the train (streetcar) station and downtown. Good value for the dollar considering it is Norway. Room (well sized for one person) was perfectly set up with everything I needed and was exceptionally clean. Easy check in process, great communication by staff. No issues and would highly recommend to any traveller.

Great location in the center of Bergen. Easy to get from the airport. Nice staff. The room has a clothes dryer, ironing board and iron. Great breakfasts. The electrical outlet in the bathroom didn't work. The hotel has not been renovated for a long time.

This hotel is very well centered in the city and right at the university. You will notice lots of college students in this area. So, if you look for a completely quite part of Bergen then this is definitely the place to stay. However, it's also right in the shopping area and very close to the park, as the name says it too.

Perfect location, comfortable beds and amazing breakfast - I will say that our room was TINY (not enough space to even put our suitcase down flat and still walk around!) but we didn't check the square footage before booking so be aware of that! The view out of the window was over a bins courtyard and then right into more hotel rooms a few metres away so that wasn't ideal either. There wasn't a vault in the room but there was a fridge which is great to see. Staff were friendly and helpful and we did enjoy our stay regardless of the size of the room and view from the window.

Very nice hotel. Breakfast was in incredible and super good. Staff friendly and helpful. Bedrooms nice and small/ cosy. We had a noisy room unfortunately but not at fault of the hotel but overall great stay (1 night we did)

Positives: Awesome front desk, very friendly & helpful. So patient. Breakfast buffet was top notch.Location is awesome, close to all main attractions. No public transit needed, you can just walk around. Negatives: Rooms are so tiny, even it won't fit for 2 ppl. You have no place to keep your luggage in your room. We checked out earlier because it was suffocating to stay in the room, instead we spent time in the lobby.

The location was good about midway, a 10 minute walk to either, between the ferry terminal and the bus station. It was a 15 minute walk to Bryggen. The staff was very helpful. The included breakfast was wonderful. the room was small but clean and for the most part met my needs. When I first checked in my window was very close and faced other windows, as a female traveling alone this was a very uncomfortable situation. Tthe desk clerk understood my concerns and kindly switched my room. the next room faced a wall and overlooked a courtyard which was fine until Saturday night when the bar that shared the courtyard was having a loud party. That, even with windows closed, was blaring. I called the desk and they were finally able to have the music stopped shortly after 10pm. There was still some noise with groups of people in the courtyard for about another 30-45 minutes.

Some spots of refurbishment required, but staff extremely friendly and helpful, perfect for our pre-fjords cruise

The hotel place is perfect. The room is OK, but no view. The curtain was a hell lot smaller and shorter than the window (long summer/autumn days). The Internet isn't very friendly. The screen mirror on TV never worked even though it connected to the device. The toilet seat was clean, but looked disgusting (because of how much its been used, with yellow stains on it). The room door shakes every time another fellow guest opens or closes their door If you are looking for practicality with no sort of fun, this is an acceptable place. Looking for more luxury like a good TV or a clean looking toilet seat, then don't come here. I had higher expectations for this place and nothing was met unfortunately.

Thank you dear Scandic Byparkem team in Bergen. The service was top notch everyone was always so friendly and helpfull. One of the coolest Hotels i ever stayed in. Even got a better room than i booked. If I come back to Bergen I make sure to come to this hotel again. Also I will recommand it to my friends who come to Bergen.

Tiniest room I've even stayed in, but it was very clean, the staff is friendly, and the breakfasts are an absolute must-have if you stay here. I think I've eaten around a kg or salmon during one of them. Also the hotel itself is just 5 minutes from the historical places.

If you are looking for an affordable place in the city centre of Bergen, the Scandic Byparken is a good choice. Central location, friendly staff. Very good breakfast as usual at Scandic hotels. The only drawback is that rooms are tiny. But if you only need a place to sleep and are out and about the whole day anyway this should not matter too much.

The room was somewhat Spartan, but clean and comfortable. But what really got me was the breakfast buffet, which was so good I considered delaying my flight and staying an extra night. Location is also good, right near the center of the city.

This was an amazing choice to stay in the heart of scenic Bergen. Very polite and courteous staff (what Norwegian isn’t) and the breakfast buffet was an amazing value for money. With Easy access to the light rail to airport and to the ferries that take you on fjord tours this place has my 5 stars.

Amazing hotel in the middle of Bergen at a great price. I cannot say enough good things about the staff of the hotel, they were amazing. Very helpful with every question I had and good with recommendations. The breakfast was fantastic, probably the best breakfast I have had at any hotel I have ever stayed at. The room was good too. 10/10

The only thing that we would have liked was a little more ventilation - we happened to hit one of the small number of true summer weeks. This was a good place to have as a home base in Bergen. Easily walkable from the train station, even with children and luggage. A good breakfast, although a little busy during our peak season. Close to the park, museums, and the walk down to the harbor. The rooms were comfy and clean, although ours wasn't ready even at 4pm for check in which was a little surprising (they seemed a little overwhelmed by peak season, but cheerful and kind about it). The beds were comfortable and we would go back.

Cozy hotel, amazing breakfast and kind staff working there. It's located in the middle of the city so you have walking distance to almost everything

Had a brilliant stay at the Byparken. I only stayed in a single room, which was perfect!! And it had the most amazing view of the lake and Mt. Fløyen ☺️ The bathroom could do with a bit of updating, but other than that the room was great. It is at a busy place for traffic and people, but does have a superb location. If you don't like noise at night I would suggest bringing some war plugs, just in case. Breakfast was lovely with a decent choice for veggies. And the staff were great, very helpful, and welcoming. I would definitely book here again for a trip to Bergen.

Clean. Friendly. Shame there are no drink making facilities in the rooms but a very nice place to stay.

Absolutely unprofessional hotel! The HRS website is advertised garage or parking at the hotel: this is a lie! There is no hotel own parking lot far and wide - the assigned room is not identical to the booked room! In the booked room there is far and wide no socket for charging a mobile phone.

Stayed here a number of nights and enjoyed it very much. Hotel is modern and centrally located in the downtown area of Bergen and close to many restaurants and cafes. Breakfast buffet was included in the rate and was real good. Throughout the hotel there is fast free WiFi for guests (you must re-activate once a day). Instead of a mini-bar there is a small shop in the lobby.
