Great location. That's important. Great bed and housekeeping service. Shower is good. Very clean and modern. Good TV. Little disappointed with no breakfast, but black coffee and free wifi helps, no view and the detail with elevators and entrances just a little much for my taste and age. Receptionist is in 7am, gone at 2100 too. Ice or anything Isn't available after that unless you leave.

I do not recommend this hotel. We got in early on Saturday morning and the resepsjonist was kind enough to keep our small luggage until room was ready. The receptionist also says we were able to book the last room with harbor view. When our room was ready, the receptionist said that something is wrong with my booked room, but she upgraded us to a better room due to the fact that there was no harbor view rooms left. The room was not an upgrade. This was the same type of room with no harbor view. I therefore paid more for a cheaper alternative. After a bad check in I was hoping for a comfortable night. One of the reasons we ordered harbor views was also to avoid noise from the nightclub. The noise from the nightclub was worse than I thought. The nightclub's smoking room was right next to our room, 805. And the music was very load. It became a sleepless night. It all became a horrible experience. If there is something wrong with the booked room, I understand that a guest is moved. What I do not understand is to avoid mentioning that changing rooms will be a downgrade and, not least, prepare yourself for a sleepless night. Picture below show the nightclubs smoking area. Just beside my room.

We liked this hotel and that it has some positive sides, but it fails on basics things. If you book an apartment with a kitchen, you would expect the kitchen to be fully equipped (because you are actually going to cook there, it's not just for the beauty). Our room: 1 - had no coffee machine (you either take your own with you from home, or go have breakfast somewhere else, which was not exactly our purpose); 2 - had no colander (and you need a colander if you want to cook, even though there's a lot of good fish in Bergen); 3 - had no space to let the dishes dry after washing them (so we had to move the microwave around the room to find some space). For the absence of a coffee machine, similar hotels who did the same choice have a shared room where all guests can get their coffee, tea, etc. It would be a nice suggestion to implement this solution here. Furthermore, our room was perfectly clean, but the balcony was too dirty to be disposed of - OK, I understand that it's outdoor and anything can fall on it, but some sticky spots should have been removed, as well as hairs etc belonging to previous guests. The laundry room needed a good clean, too, especially the floor. The reception is practically useless, since the opening hours are so reduced that it is almost impossible to find someone. Beside these points, the room is well isolated and silent, so we were not bothered during the night. The bathroom and shower are really good, too. The position and the the view on Bryggen are also on the plus side of this hotel.

Very disappointing experience. This place clearly thinks 'magic' is only required in the name. 🙄 We booked a 1 bedroom apartment for 1 night for approx. 2000 nok. Not cheap. 2hrs before check-in we were called and they informed us we had to pick up the key at the reception of a different hotel. Also the place closed at 4pm! Not very convenient. Then, the access to the apartments is not at the sign 'magic hotel Kloverhuset', but 20m to the left, resulting in searching 10 min for the right elevator. Luckily a nice gent from a phone shop helped us finding the other entrance. (Why not put clear signage for people that don’t know the place.) The apartment was minimalistic but clean. The kitchen was complete, but strangely enough no coffee machine. And no, we don’t want to use the kettle making instant coffee, that is not a proper alternative. The bathroom and toilets looked nice, but the water didn’t heat up very much. It only reached around 30 degrees. What a waste of a good looking shower. The sofa bed was ok for sitting, but once you turned it into a bed the wooden styles between the cushions made sleeping very uncomfortable. We ended up sleeping over the width of the bed (1.40m or so) as even that was better. Last issue was maintenance of the place, especially the doors. The door between bedroom and living room didn’t close as it was hanging loose of its hinches. We had to push it back a few times. The handle of the door between elevator and hall was also loose. Overall a disappointing stay. Not worth the money, not worth the 4 stars.

Great location: It's located in the heart of Bergen, Norway. It is very convenient and just 2 minutes walk to the Tourist Information Centre, famous Fish Market, Bergen Harbour and a bus stop (Flybussen to Bergen Airport). Lots of clothes shops, souvenir shops and restaurants nearby. The room is modern, spacious and clean. The beds were comfortable. Beautiful view of the harbour from the room window (partially view). The breakfast buffet is excellent and plentiful. The staff at the front desk is helpful and friendly. Reasonable wait time for check-in / out. Had comfortable and enjoyable stay.

Some great some very bad. Overlooks the fish market and bryggen, so views are excellent, location too. Rooms were as photographed, but small and lacking in amenities. Somewhat difficult to navigate design all around the facilities (form over function). No lift to 8th floor. Breakfast is great minus the lacking of diverse choices in anything but cold cuts. Lastly, the MOST IMPORTANT PART is the Saturday nights which the NIGHTCLUB at floor 7 blasts until 2:30. Hotel floors are 5, 6 & 8. Pretty much a total hellish earthquake inducing experience especially if you are in the floor right below. Avoid the hotel if possible on Saturday nights, other than that everything else is passable.

I had a junior Suite room 504. It's view was incredible with a window seat. Roos was spacious but a little tacky and no storage for clothes. Location is unbeatable with fish market below and views to brygge

The couch bed I had to make it myself. There was no proper place to put the toilet paper. They had not a kettle so I had to ask them if I could have a kettle but they said that there was not many kettles

Best location... From the balcony, we got the beautiful view of Bryggen. Rooms were neat and clean. Kitchen was equipped with all basis kitchenware. I have given 2 stars for service because in our room, there was a fire alarm activated at around 3 am in the morning when everyone was sleeping. Kids got scared as there was no reason for us to understand why alarm is activated. We tried to ring the reception, but no response. After 5-10 min the alarm stopped. Next day we came to know that there was some smoke in the next hotel room to us. And that activated the alarms in our room too (doesn't make sense to me).

Avoid room 607. Pigeons live right outside the window and are very noisy. We could not sleep all night. We never got the digital key and had to go to another hotel to pick up room keys.

After reading a few reviews I was quite unsure if to book this hotel or not. Luckily I did, as I travelled a lot and I can say that this is a rare find. The reception staff are really helpful, they gave us advice on where to go for walks and they were super friendly. The restaurant inside the hotel it's extremely nice. Fresh food, prepared with passion and talent. I took the tasting menu and all the dishes I had were amazing. I could taste the passion and hard work that's behind every dish. Andrew, the waiter was extremely friendly and professional. The bar makes really tasty cocktails, highly recommended after a long day of sightseeing. Overall, amazing experience, clean and spacious rooms, great staff, amazing view and honestly priced for being in Norway. Highly recommended despite the stupid reviews left by other frustrated travellers.

The names says it all. Magic. A saying goes, Looks are deceptive. From the outside, it looked like an old building. Once inside, it was wow 🤩 and modern. Amazing interior which was all black. Free coffee and water was refreshing. Getting into the room was like a maze though . Rooms were amazing , bathroom was so big, not sure what people do inside such a big one 🤣🤣. It looked like everything was in place to the dot. Breakfast spread was amazing as well.

Do not stay here if you have kids. They are understaffed and don’t have their business figured out. They told me the travel crib (which costs 250 nok per night!) was in my room. Turns out they had to get it from another hotel. At 8p at night mind you, when I expected to put my son to bed on arrival. They don’t have enough kettles for every room! When you ask for one they just… don’t bring it. Even when you need the water for baby food. 10/10 worst hotel decision I have made. It’s well located and the breakfast was nice but that’s about all it has going for it. Would never book her again. At that price, they should do better.

Location is great, we had a great view of the harbour. A big minus is the cleaning, we stayed for 3 nights and nobody cleaned our room or changed the towels in 3 days.

We stayed in the apartment 604. We had a balcony with view at Bryggen. It was very clean with a nice bathroom. The location could not be better!!! Great to be in the city center. The Kitchen was also fully equipment. The only thing we missed was a coffee machine. We knew that before, so we brought our Italian coffee maker from home, but as the kitchen was induction we could not use it. All in all we had a great time in Bergen ❤️

Room listing had beautiful views of bryggen and multiple "views" as features. Priced above other rooms at the same hotel without a view. The room we received faced a neighbouring building and bryggen was only partially visible from the terrace. Complaints to the hotel resulted in an admission that they don't currently have any rooms with the view from the listing as the "hotel" is closed for renovations and the apartments all face the building. No solution could be reached and the staff became quite rude and dismissive. If you can get a courtyard view elsewhere for cheaper, don't stay here. The view will be the same.

Excellent service in downtown Bergen. The staff were excellent and Alexandra helped us get a breakfast to go at 6:40 which was much appreciated! Stayed 3 nights and will stay on the next trip to Norway! Thank you Alexandra and the rest of the staff!

Great place, very kind staff (especially polish team), wonderful breakfast included :) and we were very happy with the room! During our stay the weather in Bergen was rainy and thanks to the hotel, we had there homely and cosy time. Also hotel is located near to everything.Definitely we will come back.

Lovely, recently remodeled hotel and apartments. It's a bit if a maze inside, but that adds to the charm. Room decor is a bit like Barbie meets acid trip. The patterned wallpaper can be a bit overwhelming and the hallway carpets have definite 1980s grad photo background vibes. Breakfast is good, but the staff really has to hustle to restock popular items like eggs, bread and yogurt. The staff have great senses of humour, though, and never underestimate the power of free loaner umbrellas and coffee in the lobby to make your day even better.

Less magic, more functional. Limited kitchen facilities, but fine for a bed for the night.

Unfriendly and unhelpful hotel. We needed to change our itinerary and they did not allow us to make any changes to the room booking.

Clean efficient and pleasant albeit with a rather industrial grey decor. Very friendly and helpful reception staff. And a simply amazing breakfast bar selection. Brilliant location too

It's not a hotel bedroom it's a space where your clothes and luggage have no place with access through a supermarket, no way to control the sweating heating setup, in a few words you don't feel like entering your destination heaven you fill like entering a nightmare. If Magic hotel think they are in the hospitality industry they got it wrong they are the kings of inhospitality.

Stayed in Room/Apartment 507 - aka the dungeons - for 1 night. 1 night too long. The place overlooks an awful internal courtyard which is in any case too hard to see because: 1 the level of the room floor is lower than the courtyard itself, 2. the tiny rectangular glass on the top of the room (it's not a window, it does not open) is so filthy that was probably last cleaned the day it was built (wish I could upload the pictures). Who cares about clean\fresh air ventilation when you can replace it with an electric portable A/C outlet, right? The apartment is very small, no place for clothes/bags. The equipment is new but to no use in such a place. The entrance is also shabby and the self-check-in/check-out process very painful. I now read here I was not the only one to have incurred problems. I complained heavily at check-out and a kind girl told me how sorry she was to hear this story and recommended writing a letter to the administration - which I did, and nobody every cared to respond. They make fun of you to your face, I guess. My advise: avoid this place. I have spent 2 weeks in Norway and this is my ONLY negative experience. If you still want to book here (at your risk) NEVER accept Apartment 507 when offered, this is probably the worst room/apartment of their lot. There are better apartments overlooking the port, you will avoid ending up in some filthy basement. They sell this place for the equivalent of 165 EUR/night. It honestly felt as a fraud.

Great spot! The rooms may have the best views of Bergen. I highly recommend a room with a balcony, sitting outside and taking it all in was really nice. The bed was comfortable and room was cozy. If I’m back in Bergen I’ll be booking this room again.

There are three stars but these are only due to the good location near the harbor, stores and restaurants. The apartment itself is large, but has no wardrobes or dressers, only a clothes rail, which meant that we had our suitcases standing open. There are miniature sinks in the bathroom and toilet. We only washed our hands here and brushed our teeth in the kitchen. Unfortunately, there was no coffee maker in the kitchen. The bedroom is in a separate room, the mattress of the bed is good.

Booked 2 standard rooms for my family over 1 night. PROS 1. Big/thick curtains perfectly block sunlight, very important for summer time. Quite room. I made very good sleep here. 2. Clean and well maintained rooms. Nice and hot shower 3. Free WiFi 4. Friendly staff CONS 1. No street view even though the building facing Brygein colorful houses 2. Breakfast not included 3. Not accept Discover Card 4. Parking is not free

Quick check - in, clean and spacious room, not as expensive as other hotels in the same category and area, after 22 there is no reception service so if you have some problem you have to ask to the other hotel on the other side of the street, but it's not really a big deal. Even if it's on a top of a shopping centre in a crowded area, the rooms are quiet and soundproofed

Room was super clean and new, as shown in the photos. It felt like they’ve just built the hotel a couple of months ago, everything was clean and tidy. Both bathroom and bedroom were decent in size. Check-in was easy, staff was friendly. Breakfast was a little bit poor as there wasn’t much selection apart from the cold meats. The chef was very friendly, offered to cook or make eggs omelette as required. Would definitely come back!
