If your booking here at the 1087 Beacon inn please make sure you don’t take room 7 on the 3rd floor. Me and my husband stayed here last night after leaving a great concert at Fenway and when we got to our room it was a hot box. AC not working and we were up all night sweating. Called the office and spoke with staff Mary and she reported that she is very sorry for the inconvenience but there was no discount she could give us at this time. She wouldn’t give us the persons name to contact with this issue. Oh and mind you the room is the size of a closet and your bathroom is not in room but down the hall on 3rd floor. First and last time we ever stay at a Beacon Inn 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻

Hotel or garb** and deserves zero stars! I had a reservation and I came in the middle of the night and all the rooms are sold out and all the hotels in the town as well..! He did not provide alternative accommodation according to the procedures followed by respectable and professional hotels. I l met someone who complained about the dirtiness of the bed..! Where are the regulators?! I will not let my dog stay in this place!

If you happen to get room 7, expect to be unable to sleep as it’s really noisy. Private bathroom happens to be across the corridor. The reception is unfriendly to say the least.

WE Stayed 3 nights, upstairs had a leak in their bathroom and poured water into our bathroom which was a major inconvenience. My wife went into the bathroom and got soaked by the water, we immediately to staff as it was a major issue with leaking water, the Staff informed us that they told the owners and that owners would be inTouch with us, we even sent an email which fell on deaf ears, the next day after we were at a wedding until the very late hours we received a knock on our door 9;45 am (we had a do not disturb) sign on our door, we were asked to move our vehicle (33.00 dollars a night)which was located in The rear of the building, so they could accommodate another vehicle (vehicle that came in-was same size as our vehicle) so made zero sense. Zero explanation except that it would help the situation….yep we helped them, but they never even emailed or called us back based on several issues, as you can see we have a very high rating on Expedia and google for very high praise to everything we have been a part of over the years, this WAS NOT ONE OF THEM…be cautious based on price and if you think you might be takin care of and are not. LOTS OF OTHER PLACES IN THE AREA WITH BETTER PROFESSIONALISM AND will show concern if any issues

Love it. Clean, comfortable, a real Boston experience, location is great!! T( metro), just across the street. Nice coffee bar, bagels, croissants, muffins, tea, great to keep you going. A/C, excellent bathrooms, some rooms don’t have it, but they let you know before hand. Girls at front desk are very helpful and nice. They make your room everyday. Not a hotel. It’s an Inn.

We stayed here in early July for 8 days. We were booked for 4 days for a conference, then added more time so we could vacation in the area. Because of this, we ended up in 3 different rooms, but that was not the hotel’s fault. The first room was the Symphony room at the top and front of the building. The room was large and well appointed, but there was glitter everywhere. This wasn’t new glitter, it was in the carpet, the floorboards, the bedspread, the furniture, the bathroom, and had been for a while. The second room was just above the entry facing the street. We were concerned it would be noisy, but it was certainly tolerable. No glitter here. The third room was on the second highest floor at the back of the building, and had two queen beds, and a corridor to the private bathroom. It was an odd layout, but it worked. The breakfast was pretty minimal. Some grocery store croissants, granola bars, mini boxes of cereal, and a couple of days there were oranges and bananas. Coffee and tea supplies were also available. There was a small seating area just off the front stoop outside to enjoy these. If you aren’t able to do stairs, you need to find somewhere else to stay as there is no other option at all. The air conditioning worked well in all our rooms, the staff was responsive (though we didn’t ask for anything), and the wi-fi was good. It was super convenient to our conference, the transit and local restaurants just down the street. We’d stay here again.

Beacon Inn is a hybrid hotel, sorta like a B&B but not quite. Hotel desk friendly & courteous, altho staffed only part time. A beautiful “Olde Boston” brick building with heavy doors, tall ceilings and wood flooring. No elevators if that’s a must. Bay windows in our room so cool to watch the panoply of Beacon Street passerby from. Room & bathroom were clean. Furniture matched the antiquity of the building. Self serve refreshment bar in the (very) small lobby with basics: K-Cup coffee, bottled water, packaged energy bars. Location is SUPERB, just steps to/from the MBTA (at street level there). Also (relatively) short UBER rides to most Boston tourist destinations. We enjoyed our 3 night stay because of its convenience and that it gave us a glimpse of what Boston was like a century ago, excepting for the modern comforts.

We stayed for one night, the room was really pretty and clean. The beds were so comfortable, and the street is so gorgeous. We had a great stay.
