Last time we stayed here, I would have rated it 5 stars all the way. On 4/26/23 staff was great. The location is great, but the room was less to be desired. The beds was very uncomfortable and hard. Our last stay the bed was totally different. Apparently, going around the corner to our room 614 brings you to the backside of the elevator. Through the night, you could hear it going up and down. Starting about 5am, the elevator is non-stop and supper annoying. For this point alone, I would not stay here again unless I could promise a room far away from the dreaded elevator.

Avoid the Courtyard by Marriott Boston Brookline. They didn’t honor my reservation, didn’t let me know until I was 10 minutes away, wouldn’t allow me to give them another credit card number for the pre-authorization, refused to help me find alternative lodging, but did help the next customer find a different hotel for their first night. I made a reservation 6 months in advance of the Boston Marathon. The manager called me when I was in an Uber 10 minutes away from the hotel, telling me my credit card had denied the charge. I offered to give her a different credit card number, either while we were on the phone or on arrival. The manager said that would not be possible and further stated the hotel did not have any rooms available. (My credit card had been replaced in the last 6 months; the hotel manager didn’t call to ask me for a different card number, instead she called to tell me the reservation was denied.) When I arrived, I was told the same message. I asked for assistance in finding another room at a Marriott hotel or another chain (Boston was pretty much sold out for marathon weekend), the manager refused to help. Yet while I was waiting in the lobby, another couple entered. They too were told that their hotel reservation for the first night was no longer valid. However the hotel made arrangements to find them a room at a different hotel in Cambridge for the first night and honor their reservation for the remaining nights. Not the restful experience I was looking for before a marathon!

Where do I start? I booked 2 rooms three months in advance online and my rooms were as far apart as you can get! I mean what do you think it means when someone books 2 rooms at once? I was annoyed by the rooms location and we got in late and since you get people who basically are stuck with whatever broom closet you hand them at 10 pm at night, they get away with disrespecting the clients. I paid a disgraceful amount for those rooms, probably a Super 8 would have been nicer not to mention half the price. I felt the rooms cleanliness was not what I'd expect from Marriott. I found a disgusting open water bottle behind the curtain, and the room was very dusty. My allergies went into overdrive. There's a lot more to cleaning rooms than emptying garbage and replenishing towels. The beds weren't very comfortable like they used to be at the Marriott. They used to have the most comfortable beds now it's like a low-grade mattress with a padded mattress pad on it. FYI....there is no disguise for a bad mattress. The shower water pressure was terrible. The Starbuck's coffee downstairs was laughable. I don't even think there was coffee in it, it was milk water. Again, disguising a LATTE with water, $8 worth. My husband tried to return it but they had closed, how convenient. Overall, I'd like to say that I got what I paid for, but that would be a lie.

We arrived as a team for Head of the Charles. It was a SUPER busy weekend at the hotel with crew teams, college homecoming/parents weekend, etc. I can not say enough good things about the staff from this hotel. Every single person from the front desk to the cafe to the bar to housekeeping went out of their way to help accommodate our needs. We're so grateful to the team at the Courtyard to making our weekend so memorable and fun. We will definitely be back!

I love the atmosphere of the hotel. The decor is very restful and pleasant. The staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious. I like that there is a sofa as well as a bed, and the television is wall mounted to swivel to allow viewing from different areas of the room. There is a nice breakfast area serving Starbucks coffee, lattes, etc. The hotel is also the cleanest I've ever seen in my travels. Every surface is spotless. I'm sort of a clean fanatic, so this is a high compliment from me! I highly recommend this hotel.

The staff here are super friendly, which is always welcome, and the location is fantastic, being right at Coolidge Corner. The rooms are what you'd expect. Alas, one of two elevators was out of order during my stay, the gym was being renovated for part of the time, I had to let the desk know the TV in my room wasn't working, and the liner for the ice bucket wasn't replaced when housekeeping cleaned the room. Still worth it, based on location and the staff's dispositions, but be prepared for services to lag by a bit.

Great room, clean and relatively quiet. Front desk staff was pleasant. Bought the parking and breakfast packages. Underground parking at $40 per day... $15 off with package. A bit disappointed with the breakfast. First time there and didn't know there was a limited menu. One staff member was nice, the other not so much.

Nice hotel. One of the elevators broke down on the first morning of our stay. The put up a sign that it would be repaired overnight. Two days later, still not working. The swimming pool is extremely small. The online images make it appear to be the size of a normal pool. But the pool is only about 8' x 6'. Tiny. The hand sanitizer they provide to guests smells like really bad tequila. I had to wash my hands to get rid of the smell. One nice touch is that they provided flavored water in the lobby every evening; lemon, blueberry, etc.

The hotel is quite nice, the room was spacious and clean, and the bed comfortable. The front desk was helpful and pleasant. Hotel in a very good location, walking distance to a lot of restaurants, which turned out to be important as Marriott obviously no longer provides a free continental breakfast, only an overpriced Starbucks. That is why I gave them a 4 star instead of 5. But I guess that is the new policy., since that happened in Chicago last month also. I was thanked for being a Platinum Elite member, but I'm not sure what that actually gets me!

Really enjoyed this hotel in every way, with one exception. Did not care for the bed linens, as they are a lower thread count. With very small pillows. Other than that it’s perfect in every way.

Everything on the property was clean and neat. Samantha was a great host. I felt very welcomed. Very close to House of Blues, Fenway Park and various restaurants and bars.

Gym review only: couple of treadmills, one elliptical machine, one bike homtrainer, 1 bench (incline possible), weight up to 50lbs, 3 medicine balls and a yoga mat. There was water available and towels as well as earbuds for the machines. Music was on.

I stayed there with my boyfriend on August 4-8, 2023. Nightly rates averaged 250./night. what a rip-off! The location is great next to a lot of restaurants, shops etc. However, service provided can only be described as a fraud. Housekeeping did not make the room every day . In fact, they cleaned only once out of our 4 night stay. on day two I purposely removed the do not disturb sign and asked housekeeping in the hallway to clean up the room. Upon my return, the room was not made . I called the front desk repeatedly to no avail . These rooms are not cheap ,(again close to $250 a night). I talked to the manager Jen Paro over the phone . I politely informed her that our room was not made up. This manager rudely indicated that I was lying! I asked her to come and check herself that the room was not made . She refused to come . She repeatedly told me that the room was made and we were somehow mistreating her staff!? . I was in shock. This manager lives an alternative universe where reality is solely of her own choosing. I stay in hotels all over the world and have never seen this . I have stayed many times at Marriott. I have gold status . I am Extremely disappointed that this Hotel is part of a reputable chain like Marriott . They do not deserve the name in this location. They certainly are not in the hospitality business . There were other issues as well. The elevators did not work, and the bedding was obsolete. Lastly, my boyfriend wrote to Marriott regarding this issue, and after several months still has not received a response to this experience. I do not recommend this Hotel .

Our stay was very pleasant. The staff was extremely polite and accommodating. The lobby was clean and bright. Everything was pretty much to Marriot standard. At this point, I would just be comparing this Marriott to others I have been to, and that's not fair. The location was a little tricky to find because it's tucked behind the main drag on a little side st. I did enjoy that characteristic. The location is great because all of the restaurants and markets are within 0.3 miles from the hotel. The on-site parking garage was great, too. City parking always stinks... lol To the GM: I gave the rating I did not because I wasn't satisfied, but because I was there for 1 night and didn't feel like that was enough time to give a 5☆ or 1☆ review and have it be honest. I would definitely stay again.

We stayed a few nights here for a book signing at Brookline Booksmith and were able to explore Boston as well. It's conveniently located to several restaurants, bakeries, and shops. The rooms are beautiful, and clean with comfy beds. For some reason though, most of the outlets aren't charging our phones- a few of them work well enough but it took some trial and error. The staff have been friendly and we enjoyed our stay here.

Needs an update and more attention to detail. The carpets, especially in elevators and hallways, are super dated and always needed a vacuum. I get it - high travel areas, hard to keep up with. But they were quite dirty during the entirety of my stay. Rooms are fine, mostly clean, very dimly lit. Enjoyed the shampoo/body wash dispensers in the shower and the in-room coffee. I agree with others on the hard beds, though this is obviously a personal preference. The water bubbler in the gym was always empty, as were all of the hand sanitizer stations. Dinner took a very, very long time. Breakfast was much faster and the scrambled eggs were surprisingly good. Overall, it was just fine.

Room not clean. Found someone's dirty socks on floor. Bed sheet had shoe print on it! Only thing on offer in lobby was lemon- strawberry water. No coffee. We were told that the Continental breakfast was not being offered, contrary to what was said on their website. Went to the bistro for breakfast but prices were outrageous so we went elsewhere. Parking is $40 per day on top of room fees!!! When leaving parking, we were charged more than that, so had to go back and argue for refund. We chose this place because they tout themselves as providing nearby service for family of patients at Brigham hospital, which influenced our decision to stay there. However, we were quickly disillusioned about this, and regret selecting this place. Marriot should be ashamed!

Location of the hotel is worthy. However, the accommodations themselves are 3.5 star. Stayed in a room with a broken AC unit and another with a dysfunctional toilet. No one was ever in attendance of the “Starbucks” or the cafe on multiple days. Rooms are dated and less clean (worn) than expected. This place deserves a true renovation for the location.

We booked a room for my 18yo son who was traveling alone for the first time. They overbooked the hotel and canceled his room without notifying us. They lied to us and said the card was declined but it wasn't. We even got a booking confirmation a few days before his stay, nothing else from them. The manager was very rude and would stop talking over me and eventually hung up on me. Luckily we don't have to put up with this rudeness and awful service, there are lots of alternatives available.

If you’re lucky enough to encounter dean at the front desk upon checking in at night, he is the absolute best, more than helpful, and 100% made our experience here enjoyable being able to meet him.

Old hotel, from my last visit they update it some. They replaced the old carpets. The first room they assign me the ac was shaking so bad that the windows were shaking. The 2nd room was quiet, the bathtub paint is all chip. But they have great mattresses which make it with while place to stay.

Probably one of the more disappointing hotel stays of the past few years. The soap in my shower had someone else’s private hairs on it. The toilet paper roll was already mostly used. The sheets and beds are comfortable enough. There is no continental breakfast which is quite disappointing. And some of the staff and many guests were not wearing masks. In terms of needing a quick stop over its adequate but will not be returning. When I checked in the person just gave me a room key and that was it no directions to the elevators, the room, anything. The person I spoke to the next day was far more helpful. The bar area always seems closed but I suppose it’s open and I am assuming it’s of limited selection. The shower at most gets warm and the iron fictions well. The AC for the room is odd and one is unable to leave just the fan running. The room are kept very warm and the only hope of cooling them down is turning off the AC and opening the window. This solution is not an issue but surprising that the AC unit only will produce heat. I cannot speak to the gym or pool, but the location of the hotel and it’s decor are redeeming qualities. The beds and sheets are fine. Again adequate for a needed stop over in the area but have no plans to return to this hotel.

I would give it zero star if possible. It's the worst hotel that I have stayed in in recent years. The hotel staff is extremely unprofessional. They offered me breakfast vouchers but never communicated with Starbucks staff (which provides breakfast for hotel guests) about how the vouchers could be redeemed. I had to almost explain to Starbucks staff every morning when I used the vouchers. What is even more disappointing is their housekeeping. On the very next day after I checked in, they skipped my room cleaning. I went to the front desk and asked why my room was not cleaned. They told me that if the "do not disturb" sign was hung outside in the morning (but they do not start cleaning until 12 pm), they would not clean the room that day, which is completely ridiculous. Then I followed their instruction, and my room was still not cleaned the following day. I went to the front desk, and the lady there said "I don't know why they skipped your room". I would never stay at this hotel again!!!

Our daughter lives in Brighton and we love to stay here. We love that it is clean and friendly. It's close to some adorable shops and good food! Right down the street from grocery too! We didn't eat at the hotel, but it is a nice place to stay!

The hotel itself is great for its price and location. While the staff is friendly, there is a policy of housekeeping being only available every other day. While we find that this policy and practice is wonderful, the uncommon practice should be stated at check in. We have traveled through New England and came from Cape Cod on the way back to NYC for a brief 2 nights 3 days stay with children. With snacking and eating from little ones, the trash from garbage accumulated. We have requested the front desk for garbage collection only at least 3 times, we were told the bins should just be placed outside in the hallway. Well, the garbage has been overflowing and sitting in the hallway for an entire evening since 5:30pm. There is no staff cleaning here. Please also forget about calling front desk, no one picks up the phone line. If you need anything, you must go to the front desk.

The rooms are large and at first glance, pleasant. But that impression quickly fades once you settle in. You'll then notice that housekeeping is exceptionally poor and every surface is dirty or sticky (carpet that has never know the touch of a vacuum, coffee stains on flat surfaces, door handles that stick to your skin). Then you'll use the bathroom and discover that only the towels have been replaced, the toilet is dirty (you know what I mean), the shower has mold growing in the grout and worst of all... low water pressure. Now you're nervous as you pull back the bedsheets, will there be bedbugs? Fortunately not, housekeeping is changing sheets between guests. The next day you wake up planning to make some coffee, but alas, the room only has decaf. Three of them, no less. Maybe black tea instead, sorry that's sleepy time tea. Oh well, you go down and get a microwave treat, but foiled again, the in-room microwave is broken. Well, save it for later. Nice try, refrigerator is likewise inoperable. Maybe that outlet is dead or on a switch? The compressor cranks on while you're weighing your options of outlets to try. Forget it, time to get ready for work. Oh right, low water pressure thats exacerbated by morning demand placed on the system. You step outside and realize the location is great, that's why you picked this hotel. You can walk to everything or jump on a nearby metro.

i stayed here for a quick work trip. only was at this hotel for 1 night but my room was lovely, a corner with windows on both sides and the sunrise was lovely out my open window. lots within walking distance. room was clean and spacious.

Overall, not impressed, especially when they were charging over $400/night during our stay. Front desk staff was fairly rude when I called down to let them know that our TV would not turn off (no batteries in the remote), the bathroom fixtures were in poor repair, and the housekeeping staff just opened the door without knocking while we were in the middle of changing. The room itself was okay, but generally expect courtyard hotels to get the basics correct.

I was there visiting town for the funeral of a loved one. Every single person behind the counter that I dealt with was pleasant, curteous, sympathetic, kind and pleasant. The room was comfortable. The people and the general demeanor was just heartwarming. Great appreciation and high recommendation!
