👍👍 The food was amazing, the service also spot on. This is a real gem in this town. We came in almost by mistake and boy were we pleased. Monk fish was superb, goose liver pate was amazing and the scallops beat all the rest! The quality, service and prices all together made it a great experience. Five... Lovely restaurant tucked away in the lane next to the shopping centre Calais commercial. The owner of the restaurant speaks English and welcomed us. She explained us the menu and is was so easy to order. The restaurant is well known and specialised in French cuisine. The food is delicious and well presented. Accompany your main course with a glass of wine or beer. The coffee after your meal will be great. Don't forget to check the menu for specials which include a starter and a main course.

A wonderful welcome today from Caroline (the daughter of the proprietors) to this fantastic restaurant in the centre of town. The food was wonderful, the decor beautiful and traditional, the atmosphere friendly and welcoming. We were blown over by how good this place is, and it fully deserves its place as the number one restaurant in Calais. The prices - surprisingly reasonable for such a great experience. We will back again very soon. Highly recommended.

We dined here twice this weekend as we visited Callais to catch up with family and La Buissonniére provided amazing food, a lovely atmosphere and the most fantastic hospitality Caroline was an amazing host alongside Claudine and François the chef! We had many amazing things to eat including the Scallops, Sweetbreads, Duck Taretare and the most exquisite Kidneys I’ve ever tried cooked in port. Then on the second day we were invited back to try the frogs legs, grilled turbot and to finish it off an amazing Crepe Suzette cooked over our very table Thank you so much for making us feel welcome, we look forward to returning to Calais and dining again very soon!

Wow! What a surprise, we come to the restaurant by accident, but we found the best of the best, hospitality, art, taste, presentation, satisfaction of all our needs! Love it! Please, if you never been here, put in your wishing list, is worth it!

Charming restaurant with a romantic atmosphere. The owner always helps to explain the complex and uniquely French menu. Very superior to the usual food in brasseries. Set 3-course menus were from €31, plus varied à la cart.

A old fashioned restaurant whose grand rooms felt like they saw quite the crowd on their day, but were quiet during our Monday evening meal. Our hosts were polite and helpful, and keen to suggest an aperitif and wine. The food too felt grandly old fashioned, yet innovative. Our dessert of pavlova with goat milk Chantilly and mango was as delicious as it was unusual. I thoroughly enjoyed our meal here.

Very profesional and friendly staff. Beautiful food, we ordered from the 32€ menu, marrow and foie for starters (the foie was melting in my mouth) and hotdog du canard plus beef (I would recommend the beef, the hot dog was a kind of a second starter). Desserts were the best of the dinner. We’ll come back as there were many other options.

We had a really great dinner time here, with excellent hospitality with the staff who recommended us a lot of good dishes and wine in reasonable price. The appetiser dishes were mouthwatering, especially the Foie Gras serving with refreshing passion fruit sauce. Escargots is another outstanding dish, with really nice garlic butter dressing. For main dish, the fishes and scallops dishes were both very fine with good mixture of dressing. The only thing we are disappointed was we are not able to taste any dessert as we had to catch the ferry back to UK. Definitely we come back again to try them.

High quality service, massive food quality and reasonable price. Only need to check the opening hour before you go. I am surprised by their mindful. Must go when I visit calais again.

La Buissonnière is a wonderful poetic place where you can forget the hustle and bustle of shopping and taste real French cuisine in peace and take your time choosing the right wine. This restaurant is an island of the old world in a sea of bad food, bad politics and bad manners. Once you find this place in Calais you will keep coming back time and time again for a quality time and perfect service. Opening times and table booking throughout the day, secure free parking for up to 1.5hrs across the road from the restaurant.

I had dinner at La Buissonnière in Calais. Although there were signs saying English was spoken, neither the waiter or waitress offered any assistance with the menu. The diners on the next 2 tables were all English, and between us, we used Google Len's to translate the menu into English. The food was superbly presented and tasted delicious. The service of the waiter was fantastic given how busy the restaurant was on that night. I was surprised that diners with dogs were allowed in, but they weren't near me or bothered me. The Roulades de Jambon was filling. I followed it with Bailey's cheese cake.

This is definitely an upscale place, we arrived dressed in jeans and T-shirt, got no remarks or bad looks, instead we were welcomed warmly, but felt we totally underdressed for the occasion. Great service, great food.

We had a wonderful lunch here. The restaurant is located in the centre of Calais with easy parking. Inside the decor is of a classical style, very cosy and welcoming. The owner was very friendly and greeted each guest individually. The food was amazing with a good choice of set menus as well as a la carte. Would definitely recommend.

Loved our dinner here, the food was delicious, the wine was great and the service was the best I’ve had in a long time! The steak with bone marrow was so good, and the desserts were absolutely delicious. The owners were both so lovely and attentive. I would definitely come back here!

An amazing and delightful gem of a real French restaurant at sensible prices . Our spend for 3 courses, wine and beer including tip was 50 EUR p person. The owners couldn't have been more welcoming and saw to our every need. The ambience of the restaurant is wonderful. Can't wait to go back.. multistorey car par immediately across the road.

What a beautiful place. Loved it,and the host was so welcoming an friendly. As for the food they went out of their way to accommodate, I fancied pasta not on menu an still obliged. Food was excellent. Definitely recommend. Shame I don't live here would go more often.

We'd intended to find somewhere for a quick meal as we had some distance to travel, but were seduced by this delightful restaurant. The food was delicious and artistically presented, and the charming decor and helpful service all added to the ambience. We'll certainly make a note of it for next time as it made a really good start to our time in France - thank you!

We keep coming back, year after year. Probably the best restaurant in Calais. It is a time warp - it could be 1950 inside the restaurant. It isn't the cheapest restaurant in Calais, but you would pay three times as much for food of this quality in Paris. I suppose the decor is not to everyone's taste - but, if you are interested to see what France was like all those years ago come and have a meal you won't forget.

We have had a wonderful 8 night holiday in western France, but dinner at La Buissonniere (sadly on the way back to England) was the food highlight. Amazing menu, really tasty, everything was presented beautifully and incredibly friendly service. We would recommend to everyone dining in Calais and will definitely return.

We are always welcomed by Caroline, we come 1 - 3 X per year, we are greeted same as if we passed weekly, they always remember us! You're greeted with warmth, good service and the food is always, always top notch, the atmosphere is great. It's one of a kind . They accept well behaved dogs and we come back every year , I can't but recommend whether tourist or local they treat you the same. The fillet bœuf is my favourite, you always feel special here it completes your stay.

A gem in Calais, have not visited in 15 years but still as good as I remember it. Food and service are excellent, the set menus are great value.

Tasty food, but average presentation, tired and old fashion place. Owner lady not too friendly with us ( this time we are tourist), but one plus point: we could take our medium size dog inside. Fish soup expensive and small portion.

It's a good restaurant, full of good dishes and in a good location, easy to find. Unfortunately just the owner talks English, what is a pity as I believe that a restaurant in Calais, where loads of people goes to come to UK speaks English... But was not a problem as we have technology today to help us to translate the menu. I eat foie gras as starter, meat as main dish and an lovely vanilla ice cream with rum...

Fantastic traditional French restaurant, excellent quality food, good value inventive and well presented. Served with meticulous attention by friendly multi lingual staff. The restaurant is worth the visit just to see the beautiful period hand painted murals of classical bucolic landscapes painted in an impressionistic style. The wine and alcohool is also of excellent quality. We had a most enjoyable time and will return at the earliest opportunity

Quite a blast from the past. Charmingly dated decor, food options and presentation. A menu and restaurant frozen in the 80s, complete with tuxedoed waiter. The owner was passably polite. Spent a lot of time gossiping with some (I assume) grandees of Calais on the next table. We didn't want to drink alcohol but the waiter was quite pushy and insistent, implying that we were cheap (offering us a cheaper price for a glass) rather than just taking no for an answer. Service was slow. But the food was very hearty and and flavourful when it arrived. Impressive desserts

😠 It was a terrible experience. The meat was burned like coal. We ordered the steak well done but that means not deep black and burned. We are disappointed about this place.
