You will get a ok workout depending on what time of day you come. Bright and early morning are the best because it’s empty and rarely anyone in your way. Noon - late evening don’t even bother you won’t be able to even break a sweat without having to wait long periods of time for a machine. Many machines are broken with cables lying around the floor. Many machines are being shifted around constantly which causes inconvenience for people getting around or someone using a machine next to theirs. Worst of all the gymnasium is very small and the guys that play their play as if their trying to make the league. Men’s locker room smells musty as hell a few more fans should do the trick. People don’t sanitize their machines before and after using a machine which is very arrogant and annoying. Parking is the worst of all. Edit I visited this place again and wanted to show the weight racks. Employees usually just sit around on their phones and talk to clients instead of walking around a re racking dumbbells. I get that it’s the people who use the weights fault but this is just messy. Start to implement the rules with talking to them first and “saying these are the rules” or just start to hand out warnings

The contract is by far the biggest money grab from any gym I’ve seen, just to cancel you need to call a third party group because golds doesn’t cancel their own memberships and when you call them they’ll waste your time for half an hour then tell you to email and wait 30 days while being charged and then they’ll charge you for a cancellation fee. THIS GYM ONLY CARES ABOUT YOUR MONEY. To get a actual good workout is near impossible if you don’t go early in the morning or late at night. For almost $60 a month you can find any other gym and it’d be better than golds gym. I will never go back and I will never recommend it to anyone. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND TIME GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.

Registering with this gym is the worst mistake ever. They cared more about money than customers. I would say this is fraud and should be looked into. Most employees do not know how to be polite. Most of the equipment does not work most of the time. They never clean the pool. The pool is always dirty. I took a picture and said that the pool is dirty, no one is responsible, just thinking about the money If you want to waste your money, go there. I was really disappointed by this Gym. Never will I return to this horrible place again. I wish I could give it a zero star.

There is no any option to give ZERO star. The guy at customer service (the east Indian or Pakistani guy) is very smart to trap the people. He told us there is no cancellation fee and can cancel anytime. I and my Mom took membership because of him and unfortunately we are also form same country, so we trust him. He is the biggest liar in the world. I have one month vacation so I and my Mom took membership because he told that no cancellation fee as well as can cancel anytime. Once I cancel it , I got charge for more than $500 ( for me and my Mom together). So I paid $500 plus membership fee. so now think for a month I and my mother paid over $600 Good job East Indian/Pakistani person the he make money from trapping us, Now I will never come back and I give guarantee to stop at least 10 person to be member for this Gold's Gym. Never Ever trust that East Indian person words and never go to this Gym unless you want to pay over $300/month.

The only reason I'm giving this place any stars is because of Joel. He was really great to deal with and kind with everything. And the equipment selection was not the worst. Other than that I can't say anything nice about this place. The parking around it is TERRIBLE! Never have a good parking space and forget it if you drive a truck. They roped me in to a 2 year membership, didn't even offer me anything else. I felt very pressured into the membership which was a very uncomfortable experience. They charged my card sporadically even though I had my account on hold and wouldn't explain the charges when I asked, they wouldn't even get back to me even though I emailed 3-4 times asking. I had to get knee surgery so I was out for a long time so I asked to cancel my 2 year membership I didn't want and Holy do they screw you over with charges! I was supposed to have personal training which I obviously can't do after surgery. Joel was helpful and understanding of that but all in all it cost me $652.35 in the last month to cancel this membership that I really didn't want and the training I could no longer do. That's a lot of money I could've spent way better than supporting a big box gym that doesn't care about their members inconveniences. Would not recommend this gym to anyone ever, avoid it at all costs.

I have been a member here since 2018. It was a great gym until the lockdown. They continued to charge us when the gym was closed, and once things opened up again it was disgusting. People weren't wearing their masks, wiping the equipment down, the women's washroom always smelled awful. I felt more and more uncomfortable going to this gym due to other members staring and making me uncomfortable. The women's side didn't have half the equipment I needed so I had no choice but to be in the common areas. Can't even look at my original contract because the link isn't valid anymore. Trying to cancel isn't streamlined - so many different phone numbers or emails to just try and get an answer.

First, I do want to show appreciation to the staff who were always great. However, as many of the reviews have stated, the owners are great at stealing money. I signed up for a two year contract which was supposed to expire November, 2021. I was told that my membership would cancel once it expired and the payments would stop. I have recently discovered that I have still been getting charged every month since. They set my account to a month-by-month payment, which was never agreed upon. They also charged all throughout the pandemic for their memberships, which they are giving out 2 months of credit for if requested, but they were shutdown for longer. The experience of my membership ending has made my entire experience at this gym the worse I've ever had. Depending on how they handle this issue, I may change my review. However, judging by the other reviews, my hopes aren't high that they'll handle this in an appropriate and professional way.

Never, never, never sign up with goldsgym! The worse gym, management and associates! No one cares about customers, all they care is money! They have the worst rules for cancellation that no one even explains to you when you sign in! I’m in the situation where I have to leave within few days unexpectedly, having my tickets and all the confirmations they make me to pay hundred $$$$ knowing that I’m leaving the city. Rules are rules, that’s why there are exemptions and management who can assist customers to make sure that they are satisfied and will come back to your business at anytime and will suggest your business to their friends and family. But golds gym doesn’t care about anything! No gyms in the city have such tricky rules as this gym! So disappointed!

This is the worst gym that I ever had to. The environment is so dirty make me nauseous. Gym is a mess, weights are not in their right spots. I wasted my money and time by joining this gym. Don’t come to this gym if you are looking for clean environment. When I complained via email and wanted to cancel my membership. They didn’t even acknowledge my complaint and made me to pay $208 cancellation fees even it is just four days that I have been to this gym. They don’t listen to you when you complain and tell you to email your complaint. When you email your concerns they don’t even acknowledge your concerns and just tell you pay their due fees. If you looking for a gym who care about your money and you, you shouldn’t come here.

They care about the $ more than your loyalty.. I mean it was the only company that kept charging customers throughout the lockdown.. first step is to get you through the door and sign a contract. The sales team has a lot of tactics, to make you seem like your getting a good deal. Several others & I have been randomly overcharged. In person they always keep telling you to call and no one answers.. leave a message no one calls back. Tried to do this for months... until I finally canceled the plan. Talked to a sales guy for a gym bag, acts as he befriended you. Says it's $50 for the bag and that's a "special deal" and not to go to the front desk and ask as they'll upcharge you.. comes out to find out they don't usually charge, as it's considered a promotional deal ^. So that sales guy probably just pocketed the $. Not gonna put em on blast... cleanliness is alright 🤷‍♂️ the front desk staff are really cool, super nice. The rest of the team however...

Shafique is an awesome part of the Gold's Gym team and so are all the staff. They are always helpful and going out of their way to make sure every customer is happy. Special thank to all the people at Gold's Gym. I highly recommend this gym to anybody looking for a gym that has literally everything you can possibly imagine!

I recently decided to get back into working out but was hesitant to join a gym since I don’t have a lot of experience with machines and stuff. I had the pleasure to speak to Shafique. He was incredibly helpful, kind and very patient while explaining the whole process. He was definitely a deal breaker in my joining this gym. If you are hesitant, don’t be! Everyone at Golds is happy to help and make you feel safe! Great place, would give more stars if I could! Thank you so much to Shafique again for all his help!

Gold’s gym created a fake contract few years back using my name address etc. I was a member prior to creating that contract. They used that contract and held me liable to pay the fee for two years. Original contract which I have signed scanned copy did not state what the fake contract stated. I paid rightly according to the original contract. In fact fake contract was sent to me 5 months after creation date. Someone certainly did illegal things and added the contract in Gold’s database. Anyway long story short collection was posted on my credit in 2019. I had it removed by sending backup documents etc to Equifax and TransUnion. Now same collection reopened in June 2023. Is there anyone who can deal with this or have advice or have had similar experience with Gold’s gym? Amount is not huge but my point is that I was wronged by this entity and my identity was stolen and used to make some extra bucks.

I recently came in and spoke to one of the guys sitting upfront. And I have to say he is the most polite person I’ve ever spoken too, very caring and understanding to everything I’ve said. He took the time to listen and did not push me to buy anything. Although I did end up getting a membership and it was 1000% worth it. I signed up last year With Jamelle who no longer works there , probably got fired. i referred three people , never gave me a year free. charged me through the lock down , did not credit me , extended my contract 5 months without communicating that to me. keep getting told refer to your contract which was poorly communicated me. DO NOT GET A MEMBERSHIP HERE.

Had a really bad experience. They kept on charging money even after 2 year contract ended , without letting the customer know that its changing to month to month. Don't waste your money here, there are better and cheaper gyms in Calgary!

I do not know how to start it... but long story short!... Gold gym is the worst gym in the entire world. its employees on the front desk are monkey kids and are not friendly at all . they do not know how to communicate with customers. when sign up for membership.... they do not explain the whole process to its members. I cancel my account 5 months ago, I am still paying and have not used their greasy and sweaty dumbbells for even a second. Stay away or you will regret it forever!

I paid 150 for a one day workout because the sales guy didn’t gave me a tour or day pass before signing a contract and paying 150 joining fee. When I came back after one hour workout to cancel the membership on SAME DAY and just an hour later he said its non refundable. He asked me to leave a good review while he was selling me the membership so I have to change the ratings to what it actually deserves.

"Gold Gym is the best training site. I've been a member since November and I am be trained by Charlotte. She is super personable and very knowledgeable. She broke down each exercise and explained the muscles it impacted. I was always looking forward to our workout sessions. She helped me build overall strength and stamina. The facilities in the gym were good, no complaints there. The problem I had was getting through to customer service. Golds Gym continued to charge through the entire pandemic when none of the services were available and most other gyms put payments on hold. When my year long contract was up they continued to charge me and then when I contacted them to cancel (which was not easy) they said I'm responsible for an additional 30 days of payment. Trying to speak with anyone was an absolute nightmare without physically going in there.

I'm very frustrated with Golds right now! I have been told I have to start paying membership fee's in order to attend my remaining 15 sessions. The reason I was given, because I no longer pay training fee's, I paid these fees outright some time ago! Furthermore, I was Never told by Anyone that paying my training fee's out would be used as an excuse to charge me membership fee's down the road!!! I was charged membership fee's in the summer however this was resolved with Dwayne. I told Dwayne that I've Never stepped foot in the gym outside of my training sessions, how is this fair? Dwayne said he was not aware of this, fair enough, he had to speak to someone about this, I don't remember who it was. Dwayne contacted me later and said whoever he spoke to agreed it wasn't fair, fee's were stopped and Dwayne gave me 2 more training sessions for those fees. Well, Dwayne is gone, so I guess that doesn't apply anymore. Furthermore, an employee, who was not present during this conversation with Dwayne has now come up with a completely different version. Apparently, Dwayne was only temporarily stopping the fee's " to do me a favour and give me a break" I was Never told this by Dwayne! This same employee has also made up a fabricated version of the day I joined golds in 2018, he didn't work there but I guess that doesn't matter. I joined golds because a trainer I had for a year at a different gym went over to golds, he was an amazing trainer. Short version, this employee made up some ridiculous story about my interaction with an employee who filled out the paperwork. I will not include the petulant and disgusting comments he made about the now ex employee, despite him saying he didn't know this employee but he's heard of him, I'll exclude the nasty little comment he made after that. I don't understand what's going on these days at golds but it sure is a disappointment after all the years that I've been there. I can say, I've had some great trainers and never had problems until recently. What a sad way to end out my last training sessions!!

Gold's Gym Calgary country hills is an excellent, clean and spacious facility that I would recommend to anyone. There is lots of great equipment and the staff is knowledgeable and friendly. What's also great is that your hard earned money goes a long way here. I usually aim for four gym visits per week, and it's one of the best lifestyle choices I've ever made.

I have been coming to gold's for about a year now and so far have had no complains, but today as i was working out i saw the trainers manager Joel taking videos of women working out without their knowledge or consent. Which i found extremely creepy and inappropriate. People like him is what makes gyming for women so uncomfortable. I miss Sam the old GM he made everyone feel welcomed.

You have everything one could want in a gym as well as great equipment, great location and staff .After every session , I can literally feel the rush of endorphins. Thank you for holding me accountable, getting maximum results in minimal time at the gym, and making me feel great! I look forward to reaching our next target together.

My wife and I recently joined this gym and we got the best service from Shafique. He was thorough in explaining everything and gave us a tour of the place as well. The staff is friendly and always quick to act if we run into any issues.

Very open gym. Plenty of rack to do barbell Exercise. Less waiting on equipment. This location have a boxing ring. Great for sparing and Thai pads round. They need to replace better boxing bags and get some mauy Thai bag go to the ground. Good for low kicks.

LOVE this location! New to the gym and Narinder was a gem and helped me out so much! Showed me how to use some of the equipment gave me best workout advice and a free assessment with Joel who also was so much help! I highly recommend Golds Gym. If you have a weight loss goal or fitness goal this is a great gym with great staff. I have tried almost every gym in the city and this was the one that made me feel the most welcome. Be very weary cautious of the Personal Training contracts. The manager did not print out the contract for reviews and was not sincere in letting me and my brother know that that any and all commitments are for 1 year. We were deceived into believing we were having a 1-month personal trainer trial contract only to be forced to pay out on a one year plan. There is absolutely no communication pathway to reach their parent organization (ABC Fitness) for an escalation so you're left at the mercy of the same manager. Plus even after a renegotiation and new contracts, the manger did not cancel the first contract and my CC got debited with over $1000 in 1 day based on the old contract. Other than that, they have good equipment and very friendly front desk staff that are unable to help with anything else besides member clock-in. PS: The only positive is the personal trainer, Breane, who is very professional in her duties.

I got paired with Alyssa for y personal training sessions and she has been a perfect match for me. She is always accommodating and keeps me accountable for my progress in a kind manor. I’m so appreciative of the time and support she has given to me both in and out of the gym. Meeting with her every week has improved my mood my overall fitness and my health. I’m so grateful for her specialized meal plans and workouts to fit my lifestyle. So far I’ve lost 36lbs and have very defined quad/calf muscles.

The cleanest Gold Gym in my opinion. When I want to have a nice long workout and sauna after I definitely go to this location. Their selection for the women’s room is just so much better. Employees are always welcoming and helpful

I love Gold's Gym. The staff are friendly and sociable. They greet you when you come to workout. At times they even offer you donut. Saurabh was very helpful with registering and showing how to get the bar code for the app and finding the right people to assist me in my needs.

I have been working out for about 6 months on this gym. Very close to my place and where I work that I come here almost everyday. The gym has lots of equipment, great atmosphere and the staff are very friendly, Martin is the man! Very friendly he’s fast to share information when asked and very pleasant to reach out when i need something, he would even go around the gym to ensure job satisfaction. Im super stoke with my progress part of that is the people around that helps and motivates me… Awesome place to go! I highly recommend!!

I've been working out with Gold's for probably a year. Honestly im really impressed on how big the gym is and the ladies gym is separated . I loved working out at night and using the sauna and the steamer. Loved it! The only thing that really upset me was when covid hits and they had to close everything. Membership were frozen which is fine. But then i tried to call, email, leave a voicemail to end my membership but nobody replied. Even my brother was mad when he finally got an answer from customer service. He ended up paying membership fees every month when gym was still closed. 🙄 Waste of money. But the gym is really nice ❤️ i really want to go back but im afraid they gonna take my money 😐.

Where to even begin with this gym. Throughout the entirety of the pandemic this facility and its owners have taken complete advantage of its members. During each lockdown when gyms were closed Golds gym was the only gym in Calgary still charging its members, 3 months worth of membership payments taken from everyone's account. To compensate the owners decided to give 2 months "free" to its members but only after your 2 years contract was up. so essentially nobody really got their money back or even the same level of compensation since it was only 2 months. Golds was definitely under scrutiny from upset members over the wrongful chargers and so what do they do next? they hired a 3rd party company to deal with members payment plans, reason I think they did so is that they no longer have to deal with members themselves when questioned about these payments. When I went to cancel my membership I noticed I was being charged for a platinum membership when I had signed up for a gold plan, I know it wasn't an error on my part because my transactions from my bank showed a gold level charge in year 1 but somewhere around year 2 they began charging me at the platinum price. I was told to contact the third party to cancel my membership and so I gave my banking info to the lady and she said i would be charged for my current month and then i would no longer be a member. Well, that was in august and i just found out golds has been charging me a "late fee" for not paying the remainder of that last month. the fee's are random sums of money each month. To get to my point, unless you have no other option do NOT sign up at this gym. The owners have shady business tactics and could really care less about customers, its a nightmare. Anytime fitness, Vivo, or Goodlife are much better gyms with better policy and customer service. One positive about golds is that the staff are rather friendly, other than that steer away.

4.5 stars. It’s a great gym indeed. It has a lot of space, great staff and awesome equipments. I personally recommend Jeril and Misba as they have been really helpful to me and many other members, one of the best customer service guys out there. The only thing I would be upset with is the maintenance of sauna and couple of equipments.

Golds gym is a very fun place to be at and you will be surrounded by very positive people. Especially Ana, She is a very funny and kind person to talk to. The equipment here is amazing and there is such a big variety.

Golds gym has always been a positive experience for me. Started off as a member of the Northgate location and am now at country hills. My daughter recently joined and we both had fitness assessments done by Joel. He was professional, shared a lot of information with us that we didn’t know and was very knowledgeable in terms of helping us set goals and what we need to do to achieve them. Overall 10/10

A true 24/7 gym to help our busy schedules PT manager Joel and the whole PT team have been great to listen to members and help us reach our fitness goals! I recommend Golds Gym!

This gym is a massive space with a ton of machines and amenities. I love most the women's only section and very spacey and comfortable change rooms. Thank you so much to Sandeep who made my registration super smooth and quick and answered all my questions. I love that there is a lot of natural light coming through the big windows which is a huge change from my previous gym with zero windows!

This club is great and convenient, staff are amazing each time I visit, always ready to help. I love the coffee here better than Tim Hortons, in my opinion. The ladies' section is great for those needing privacy or for religious reasons. Narinder and Deanna are my favorite people. Very warm, knowledgeable, patient, and just great to be around. Lots of space on the gym floor, and you can never go wrong working out at Gold's. Every gym has its own issues, but really Gold's for me, is great. I will forever be grateful for when the owners were fighting to keep the gym open when other clubs closed at the notice of the government.. Thanks, Gold's owners and staff.

An excellent facility in that it has all the equipment you need, but they could improve on the cleanliness. Some of the clientele are careless and don't take pride in keeping their club clean (leaving used coffee cups or dirty underwear abandoned). Management & staff are nice, quality people. Large spacious gyms, south wall is entirely windowed, bright, nice place to workout and improve your mood. Aside from the main gym, there is a fitness class room, women's gym, Platinum gym, swimming lanes, hot tubs, dry sauna, steam room, boxing ring, basketball court - I don't know of any gym that has all these facilities. Priced lower than Good Life.

I have been going here for few months. I love the atmosphere of this place its so motivating. Especially the trainers are great they put alot of effort into their work. Very kind and helpful staff. You get so many services under one roof. Had a great experience. I would for sure recommend this gym.
