WOW🤩! This place has been making the best food for many years, I have been going here since 2007. It has always been brilliant. But recently I went and the food was just not as good as it always was. So Haiku if you see this we would just like to point this fact out to you! Maybe it was a once-off but we hope it won’t happen again👍! Here are some food items I recommend; Prawn Toast, Haku Noodles and try the lime Mojito! Thanks😁!!!

This was my favourite restaurant many years ago So I decided to visit once again.. It wasn’t the right decision, unfortunately! The food is overpriced, the service chaotic, and not a clue to organizing themselves. The male host I do t think worked in a restaurant before.. And on top of everything the clothes smell like you been working on the kitchen yourself after returning home! There are some many better restaurants in CapeTown!

Ovee 20 years this amazing Asian style tapas restaurant still delivers some of the best tasting quality dishes you will ever have! Fantastic service from servers with a real passion and knowledge of the food they serve makes a big difference too. Sorry I didn't take pics of the Dim Sum...next time

The food is great ; its such a shame the service is terrible. I was told both of the dishes I had ordered were not going to come because the chef who prepares those meals was not in. This happened after most of our table were almost done with their meals..

I was very happy when I heard Haiku reopen as this is one of my favourite spots. We booked for last night. Food was excellent, but service of waiter was non existence. We received a friendly welcome by the host/mamager on duty. I had to ask the manager if someone can take our drink orders after waiting for a waiter for over 10min. Manager took our wine and still water order. Waiter brought only the wine. I had to ask another waiter after a while for our still water as our waiter never returned. Waiter collected most of our dishes from the table after the main course, but disappeared. We sat with empty wine and water glasses and no menus to order dessert. I had to get up after waiting for 15min without any drinks etc to ask if he could organised the bill for us as no one asked if we would like something else to drink or are interested in dessert. We were looking forward to end dinner off with dessert but decided to call it quits, good service is part of the experience. I expected more from a high end restaurant.

A little difficult to find the location but that was the only difficult thing. Great staff, very friendly and extremely nice. The food outstanding and the wine selection very good.

Excellent food. But completey misses the tapas concept. We ordered a few dishes to start with the idea of ordering more later. We then tried to order other dishes for at least an hour without success. We had to leave still hungry, unfortunately, as it was way too late when the waitress eventually started paying attention to us. A disapponting experience.

This place!!! Haiku is definitely my happy place.... their preparation of food is an art. It will literally transport your taste buds to a magical place. I personally prefer their tapas than mains because you get to try a range of different things and they portion sizes are still decent for tapas. The Tom yum soup is exquisite! So is their Lamb Xiu Jao (excuse the spelling) and the prawn toast! I've so really enjoyed the mushroom and lamb potstickers.... everyone needs to try this place at least once.

Loved it. The quality of food was wonderful and fresh, every bite was tasty and well presented. Service was very good and attentive, we enjoyed the ambiance which is romantic and comfortable lighting. We ordered tapas style to try as much as we can and we’re were pleasantly surprised every time. Food kept coming and it was wonderful.

This is my 3rd or 4th visit to this establishment, we arrived at about 21h30 for our booked sitting. We were expected and greeted by name as we arrived, we were shown to our table. Our waiter was very attentive, passionate and helpful with suggestions of various dishes. We had tasters of various wines to decide which was going to be the choice. I ended up having the Backsberg Cabernet Sauvignon, my girlfriend settled on the Wolftrap Red. We started with the Spicy Prawn Har Gau steamed Dim Sum, sadly these although tasty, just fell apart completely just trying to get them out of the steam pot. Our waiter explained there was a new chef in training, but it was disappointing none the less. We then had a selection of sushi, unfortunately we found this really mediocre compared to other times. Sadly I'm not rushing back again. I rate this a 5/10

Beware. This place does not manage to bring two dishes at least more or less at the same time, despite our specific request to do so. The passive aggressive and sarcastic attitude of your waiter ("must i warm your dish") does not make it better at all. First and last time, this place spoilt our mood and our Friday evening.

In all honesty, you can get dishes of similar quality for a better price at other establishments in Cape Town. I ordered the Butter Chicken (safe choice, I know) and it was good, but I tried to mix things up a bit by ordering the coconut rice as a side dish. Big mistake. It is literally a serving of rice with a ton of sugar added - no coconut flavour at all. I immediately ordered basmati rice, wasting R50 straight away. The atmosphere is nice and cosy and the service is not bad.

Thought they may have freshened up the place after reopening? We were rushed through our meal and the mains arrived whilst we were still eating our starters. The food was definitely not what it used to be. The sizzling beef was more like a gravy with small shavings of beef, and the lamb dish was so salty that it was almost inedible. Sadly they also didn’t have stock of their signature duck pancake dish. Will definitely not rush back!

Got the opportunity to experience Haiku for my birthday lastnight by my wife Thoroughly enjoyed my experience, was a little bit dissappointed that they were out of stock of duck at the time, however that hasnt changed my impression of the place Its something i would definately experience a second time Although there is alcohol on site, the food served is halaal Highly recommended to anybody wanting to experience asain food Staff were very friendly, very helpful, and we did not have to wait long for food to be served

Visited this restaurant on a Saturday at 6.30pm. I did reserve a table but it was not busy at this time. Drinks: Ordered 2 espresso martinis and 2 Awara Elixir cocktails which were both tasty!! Food: Steamed dim sum - Chicken Siu mai and beef Xiao long Bao. These were okay where the beef Xiao long Bao did not have that oozing sauce that comes out when you bite into it. Fried Dim Sum - Prawn Avo Tempura with spicy mayonnaise. This was delicious! Be careful as it was piping hot! Mains: Thai Penang Rib eye and Rendang Duck with 2 bowls of steamed rice. Dessert: Cheese Cake and 2 scoops of ice cream (Mango and Vanilla with choc chips) Total price: around 1850 Rand where we paid 2100 with tip. Overall experience: staff were very attentive, great ambience where the lights did flicker at a certain time but staff came over to explain why it did that due to the generators and to save energy. Wasn’t too keen on the steam dim sum as much (probably cos I’m being biased) but would definitely visit again cos of the fantastic experience we had!

Delicious, delicious, delicious. If you visit be sure you have their signature dish, Peking Duck. It is worth every 5 star review. So much flavour in the sauces. This ia our second visit, we went back for the Cheesecake is the most fantastic one ever tried. Service was top notch.

Ate here for the first time and was blown away. We ordered sushi and sashimi which was good but the highlight was the mains. The crisoy fried broccoli on salad and crisoy fried veg was nothing like we had ever eaten before. It was AMAZING. Then came the delicious stir fried rice and delicious crispy spicy lamb with veg. The combo was so delicious that we ate ourselves into a stupor. Wow. We have eaten all over the world and very seldom get sooo impressed. Haiku, you have outdone yourself. 🙌🏽👏🏽👍🏽🙏

Our waiter "Washington" was just splendid. He could share ample information on meals, the ingredients and how it's prepared. The Hors d'oeuvres was also a unique experience, never quite experienced those flavours before. Great start to what followed - bbq duck springroll, Spicy Lamb Pot Sticker, Chilli Chicken (With schezwan peppercorns, hot.) So deliiiish

Weird restaurant. Weird staff. So many food items and drinks not in stock. Food was mediocre and way over priced. Still need to pay extra for sides that should be included in the meal eg. R220 Curry that still needs R50 rice to be ordered. Understaffed and due to 4 different staff helping our table we were doubled charged for some drinks. Didn’t notice until we left. Also waiter spilt an entire beer on my wife’s phone and LV purse... Still made us pay for the beer.

Had a wonderful dinner for 5 people. The tables could have a little more space but they work well with space available to them especially under covid situation. The restaurant had good ambience and the food was flavourful and well prepared. Had a wonderful time.

One if the best Asian restuarants hands down in Cape Town. If you're like me and you enjoy heat and everything that comes from the ocean (get now, PG thoughts only) then you should aim for their chilli prawns. Succulent and flavorful to say the least, if you're wanting a mixture between a boa bun and dim sum go for the lamb shiu jiao (or whatever I said to the waiter) and to top it all off add the taste if the sazz hop and pair it off with a cold one #BeerForTheBoys. I woulde given this a 5 however the service was not up to my standard and the table was left wanting for more attention, theres only so many words I can speak happily before I use the hangry dictionary. #yaFeelMeKid #weAwnTheNibblyTings

A great place too share amazing food. Each dish is authentic and full of flavour. When we ordered champagne and wine, none of our first choices on the menu were in stock, but it didn't turn out to be a huge problem. I suggest taking a bunch of friends and sharing a few dishes to make sure you get s taste of everything.

Excellent Asian inspired dishes. Very tasty. Get the R699 big tasting menu for a full experience of what they have to offer. You won't be disappointed, or left wanting. John/Jean was a great waiter and the table had a great red wine (can't remember it's name, something from Stellenbosch). It's definitely a place to at least try once! My pics don't do the food justice at all

Cannot believe this restaurant. Felt like i was eating at a fish market. The chaos is unreal. They want to charge R250 for a bowl of thai curry (nothing served with it- you have to order ur rice or noodles separately) but they can't get their basics right. We had to find a waiter to get our order taken after 30 minutes of waiting. The starter was laughable. We ordered prawn and avo tempura and literally got 2 slices of fried Avocado and 2 fried prawns. NO CUTLERY. So we had to eat with our hands and then no wipes were given before or after. No straws with the drinks they asked us to stir it witha chopstick. Ordered an indian curry that was supposed to come with rice but came with naan instead but noone informed us of this change. Also ordered water and got given a 1.5lt bottle (also with out the waiter telling us). Also the fish curry was soooo salty. Kitchen was closed so we couldn't do anything about it. Can't believe i paid so much for a meal and feel so cheated. Not even an after dinner mint with the 4 figure bill.

(Translated by Google) We went there to eat Asian food based on numerous positive reviews and with regard to the food quality you can easily give 5 stars. I have to subtract three stars for the terrible service, at least that evening. Our waitress has the choice of our dishes (because my sister and I have chosen the same thing) with the words: "You will regret that". ' She certainly meant well and wanted to recommend that we choose a second different dish so that we can eat more diverse. However, it is not for anyone to comment on our final decision. The meal of three people has come as the first person already It took a long time to finish her meal. Overall, we waited a long time to be supplied with drinks. We kept the tip for this poor service correspondingly small (22 rand) and were later asked by the waitress to give her more money. According to others Locals are familiar with 10%, but not when the service is poor.
