The Prawns and Calamari are among the best I've had! Very professional and friendly service. From the welcome at the door to the goodbye as we left, we felt welcomed. What friendly staff and relaxed restaurant. If it wasn't deadly warm it would've been the perfect Birthday dinner. They are dog friendly and happily brought her some water .

Such a beautiful setting. The food was great. Unfortunately the service was absolutely pathetic! Most people in the restaurant was unhappy with the service. And the place wasn't even busy.

We had breakfast on this occasion but I have eaten there on a number of occasions over the past year and have been reluctant to post a less than favourable review. Service is shoddy and food very mediocre. Place is relying on its location and setting to get by.

Really good food. We were 8 adults and 5 kids and everyone enjoyed their meals and the service was excellent.

The first time we ate here the food was amazing. This time wasn't very impressed. I ordered the prawns which was very dry, previously there was alot of sauce. Hubby ordered the chicken also very dry and salty where previously it was a very tasty saucy chicken.

Friendly services, food very good but was disappointed by the utensils that was not cleaned properly, milk jug had two brown rings on the inside, the toilets were not in a very good state. The cleaning personnel need to be jacked up.

We made a reservation and upon arrival were informed there's no gas so forced to only have fried foods. No apologies. Highly disappointing

If you have a dog and looking for great Portuguese food look no further. Staff super friendly. They bring a doggy blanket and water bowl and make you feel at home.

Very simple place - but food is delicious. The ribs were perfect, crispy vegetables and nice chips. Quite an institution apparently - rightly so. Also really cheap and service v friendly. What a find ...

Living walking distance from this place couldn't have been better, we love making this our regular spot for a drinks, snacks and food. The wood fired pizza is absolutely amazing and the staff even more so. Would definitely recommend for tourists and locals!

Unacceptable service. The person that was meant to service me behind the counter mocked me openly in front of another customer. Absolutely unacceptable and such a lack of compassion and empathy. I ordered a drink to calm my nerves after hearing a good friend of mine committed suicide, and instead of just doing their job made me feel small.

Lovely place, nice cozy spot to enjoy a beer under the shadow of the mountain with Portugese cuisine. Also dog/pet friendly is a huge plus for pet lovers.

It's a classic. Not much more to say. Pizzas and pastas are their specialty. They could do with a clean. Great sports vibe.

Went there with wife and 4 year old child. The service is friendly and good. The food is great. (Mild was still too spicy for me.) But they don't aim for families as customers, which is of course fine. It has the vibe of a pub. There are some tables in a non-smoking area. The more inside area is for smokers and a lot of people smoke there and are loud. The door between the two areas is open. I won't recommend families to sit inside. But if you don't mind loudness and people drinking a lot and the pub-vibe, then enjoy!

Steaks were excellent, kingklip was disappointing. My guys enjoyed their Guinness. I live nearby, and will be back. My "glass" of wine at the end of the evening of was generous 😜

Lovely place with good beer and great food for great price. Chicken piripiri is very recommended but if you rly like a spicy food, start with "only hot" before you will get so super hot :)

Traditional restaurant, reminds you the old times but the best part are the steaks! I haven't tasted any better in the whole Cape Town! The prices are really good

What a pleasure. Great relaxed vibe. I had beef Trinchado and tasted the espetada, both amazing. Shared a Trinchado and got lots of Espetada from guys not able to finish, so portions good too.

You know when u stumble across that hidden gem? Yeah. Here it is. Great food. Better prices. Cold beer. Awesome service. The full English Breakfast was amazing. RYAN the waiter was very attentive. The manager was very kind too. I'd drive from Claremont to come here.

This tavern has a great atmosphere. The service is friendly and fast and the menu has a wide variety. We had a garlic pita and crispy calamari tenticles for starters, beef espatada and mussels for mains and the obvious Pastei De Nata for dessert. Everything was tasty and they are currently accepting the Entertainer App.

Good food, good service and amazing views

Overall a good, unpretentious little place. Most tap beers are ice cold, staff is friendly, food is good (I am sure the Portuguese stuff is great, I've only had the Trinchado and pizzas). 4 stars because service isn't always fast. Pizza took about an hour on our last visit. This is understandable because it was super busy. We will be back for value meals and frosty beers.

Would have given a one but the location is world class. Ordered a seafood pasta. A little of everything right? Pasta itself was terrible. As in cheap bottom shelf stuff bought in bulk. A step down from pick n pay "no name" brand. Sauce was non existent. Dry as a bone. Two tiny muscles and two tiny prawns neatly put on top. Prawn was 95% head legs and tail with the smallest sliver of meat. The hake was a tiny matchbox cube covered in hard scales and full of bones. Sent me coughing for 15 minutes. Wife had a fantastic steak by the way. Really decent. So maybe avoid sea food in this sea food restaurant?

The food was a bit underwhelming when we visited. The service was a slow as well, even though they didn't appear to be very busy. We ordered seafood platters but were not impressed by the quality or quantity of these platters.

I ordered 2 beers and it cost me R120. They were standard local beers made in cape Town. I want impressed. That being said. The staff seemed incredibly friendly and were very willing to help out. They were also being jovial with one another and made the atmosphere seem very pleasant.

Beautiful location but average food. Expected it to be like pub grub and it was. So. Can't really complain. And the food is decent. Just don't expect fine dining and enjoy the view and the drinks and you will not be disappointed

Verry cute. Verry old school. Portuguese food is great. Its rare that you find a delicious pizza with more toppings than bread. I love the staff. There was a cute young lady white with medium lenth blond hair. She is fantastic. Smile service care. I recomend this place 100 percent
