My first visit …. But to know me, you know TEA is my thing. The staff we so welcoming and friendly, and so happy to share their knowledge on the best way to brew and enjoy your tea…. Ask for the Japanese cheesecake…. It is unbelievable…. So light and fluffy. And a wonderful light vegan menu to enjoy with your tea. They have a wonderful deli with a wide range of offerings from sauces, to pre made frozen spring rolls, pot stickers etc Well worth a visit …. And again and again !

This Teacafe is an absolute gem. I received the warmest greeting and the owner actually remembered me even though I had only been in once before, many weeks prior. Their tea selection is simple awe inspiring and extremely well priced. I had the omelette which was delicious and its tea pairing. My girlfriend has insisted that I bring her along on my next visit, which will hopefully be very soon. Customer service at its absolute best!!

It’s the cutest little spot ,they do tea pairing what a wonderful experience we had Sakura and Honeybush chamomile tea with delicious vegan choc and mint tart and cheese cake was divine. The service we received was so amazing and we will definitely be back again. Lisa made us feel welcomed and gave us an amazing experience.

Massive selection of teas! 600+! The food is great and staff are very friendly and welcoming. They also hold different classes at the teacafe, such as Mandarin Caligraphy and Chinese Watercolour painting. A tea master was at the Cafe who made us a selection of teas, all amazing! The Cafe also has its own shop where you can buy authentic imported products, such as Taiwanese wafers and mochi. Great place, highly recommend and definitely a place you need to visit if you love tea.

I have always enjoyed my teas. I discovered the world of "proper" tea from the tea merchant until they closed and I was heartbroken because my tea haven was gone. That is until I was taken to Nigiro Tea. This place is so incredible, from the ambiance, to the decor to the IMMENSELY delicious and satisfying tea. Lisa and her husband "The Tea Sangoma" are incredible hosts and they went FAR out of their way to give us an amazing first time in her shop. I was able to try one the best cheesecakes I have ever had and it was paired SO perfectly with the tea served. They have gotten a customer for life.

Cute tea Cafe with good coffee as, well. We tried the mini dim sum plate and the Wow Combo which were both good. The shop is well stocked with several good quality tea varieties as well as frozen dumplings. Interior is simple but tastefully decorated and there is outside seating. Love the hand wash basin concept.

A true oasis of calm and delight, the best tea range available and delicious menu. Don't skip the cakes! And if you've never done a tea ceremony, you're in for a special treat. Fully vegan, multiple gluten-free options, an amazing selection of teas and tea goodies for sale, and a full Asian ingredients deli too. Always something new to try and be delighted by!

A gem in the least expected place. The choice of teas is vast - I had the Singita Boulders Exclusive (and came home with a bag of it!) which was the suggested pairing for my bao meal. Both were delicious. The cheesecake was light and fluffy. Next time I will raid their freezer for takehome meals!

What an amazing and wonderful gem! We did tea tasting and it was worth all the money (150 per person). Lisa was amazing and so knowledgeable. Will definitely come back with friends so they can experience the tea tasting. Also, the Japanese cheesecake NEVER fails.

The healthiest breakfast in the southern suburbs with the best tea and coffee selection in Cape town. Sit inside or outside. Plenty parking. Friendly staff.

The perfect emotional uplifting venue to find, unexpectedly too. Enjoyed tea whilst journaling and bought some of their products. Wished I had more time for another visit. Those mochi desserts are my fave now.

Never thought tea tasting could be this interesting. An extraordinary experience with super friendly people and Lisa made it extra special with her personal touch. Definitely something everyone should try. And the Japanese Cheesecake is out of this world.

This is a lovely little hidden gem. Loved spending time looking at all the teas in the shop and was helped by very helpful staff to choose something delicious off the menu to go well with the equally delicious meal.

Such a perfect place for anyone anytime!!!! We had the vegan Country style breakfast, Kimchi stir-fried rice and Taiwanese style ramen soup and of course a pot of tea for everyone (Vanilla coca rose black tea, Sakura green tea and the strawberry vanilla Rooibos). I also had a cup of fresh Boba Tea and bought a canned Boba back home. The fresh one was very delicious, highly recommended, though they only make on weekends. It was by far the best meal we have ever had!!! We parked just outside which was convenient and I was highly impressed that there was a sink in front for washing hands instead of sanitizing... made my hands feel extra clean and fresh. Nigiro is a getaway for a simple pot of tea and relaxation, easy brunch with family or friends, or the best place to get the Japanese baked Cheesecake. There is a magical space next to the cute little grand piano to do some shopping and get a gift for a loved one, be it tea or coffee equipment, loose tea leaves that are exquisite for any occasion, or delicious sweet vegan and vegetaraian snacks to nibble on. I guarantee you there will always be a surprise waiting and a huge smile on your face when walking out of Nigiro Tea Cafe. The service was splendid, with smiles all around and knowledge of products was impressive, and on top of that, the atmosphere of the space was just warm, welcoming and lovely, especially outside. The owner Lisa even played the birthday song for one of the guests while everyone sang along, it was such a beauty to see and feel the warmth of a community and the pure love of people enjoying the moment. Make sure to try a pot of tea since it is a tea house...but if not, the coffee is equally amazing. Serving vegan and vegetaraian meals is what makes Nigiro special and hence, I suggest treat yourselves and try a dish of your own choice, you will not be disappointed. Walk around, do some shopping, and make sure to take photos with the fish by the main entrance. 10/10 without hesitation... will be back for more. Till then, take care:)

Was an absolutely amazing time, I can’t even begin to describe the food we had, it was unlike any western food I’ve ever had, it was such an amazing cultural experience eating such awesome Japanese good. The tea options are 200% longer than the food menu. The tea is also just so amazing! I mean I didn’t even know some of these teas existed.

Enjoyed an absolutely wonderful time. Loved the whole tea tasting experience. The owner was very knowledgeable about all the different teas worldwide. Followed by a very tasty vegetarian breakfast. Absolutely enjoyed the whole ambiance especially the beautiful laid back piano playing. Will definitely go back.

Really nice tea cafe, excellent sourced teas from Asia. Stunning wide variety. The cafe itself is a great hang out spot. The best thing off all was the tea sommelier's (the owner) presentation of the tea tasting ceremony. We were thoroughly engaged in his descriptions and passion for tea culture.

Lovely place! Friendly staff, yummy food, GREAT coffee and such reasonable prices. Also so many vegan and vegetarian options available! Popped in for breakfast after a Saturday morning long run and it was the perfect post-run spot! Also lovely to pop in to and do some shopping for frozen potstickers, bao, fried tofu. Love, love, love!

The atmosphere is pleasant and the decor is inviting. The furniture is comfortable allowing guests to enjoy their tea and food for as long as they like. The staff are professional and give good advice about the various tea on offer. There is a section where customers can purchase tea to take home. On offer are fresh ingredients and frozen goods to purchase to cook at home. The teaware on sale is of a high quality and reasonably priced. I personally purchased a glass tea set and I am very happy with the strength and feel of the set. The owners are friendly and willing to share their knowledge about the history of tea and the best practices of how to brew it. I highly recommend trying the japanese cheese cake with their sencha green tea. It is a beautiful combination. If you want an outing with good food and expertly crafted tea in a relaxing atmosphere then this is definitely the place to visit!

Always such a pleasure visiting Nigiro tea. They have the best teas around. I love their meals too, always fresh and delicious. This is one of my favourite spots. If you are vegetarian, this is the spot! Please try their cheesecakes.

It is the second time we did the tea tasting at Nigiro Tea Café in Plumstead. With over 500 different teas, it will not be the last time either. You have to experience the tea ceremony at least once. I can highly recommend the food & tea pairing experience. The owner's passion for tea and knowledge make this a worthwhile visit. The food and the service are top-notch. It's well worth a visit.
