Absolutely delicious pizza and professional staff

Came here to work in the afternoon, was nice and quiet. They have a lovely outside section in the back that is shaded that was great for the warm weather. The pasta was delicious and the aperol sprits was great.

They fell over themselves to accommodate us, even though we arrived fairly late and without a booking. The place was full.... testament to their food and value for money. So last time I visited I had a pizza (which was very nice) and in my review I voiced my regret at not being more adventurous. So I had the veal in a lemon and white wine sauce on pasta. Top notch. A really good evening out.

Needed to send back my pasta. It was vile. I didnt need to pay for it but I left hungry. NOT quite the quick supper I had hoped for. Just to reply to owner. If it wasnt you I gave the food to then it was your manager. It was an Italian man who took back my food and apoligised for it.

A really amazing Italian restaurant. You can see that it has been here for a long time. It looks like they have a lot of long time regular customers. The food is excellent. The service was good, the waiter tired very hard and was very friendly. I would definitely go back there and I recommend this place

This less about the food more about the experience, the short and long of it is my friend and I came in to place a takeaway order. The place was fairly full place our order were offered a seat the food took unusually long with clear view of the kitchen our order was made very last and I guess prioritising the sit down guests. During the long wait I offered to pay added a tip over 20%. When we got our pizza there where no condiments, I then asked the waiter as he was bringing them the other waiter exclaimed in Shona (I am Shona too so I understood) why is he wasting time with us eluding that there are other important guests the waiter helping us responded saying well he has already tipped me. This experience deters me from ever having a sit down meal at this restaurant.

Beautiful location, and traditional Italian food, proper "nonna made". They offer a complimentary bruschetta that is delicious, the pizza has a thin crunch crust which makes all the difference, and the vegetarian options are superb. Vegetarians won't be disappointed there! The service is a bit slow though, and the Tiramissu was tasting like it was left in the fridge for a few days... However, when I found this place on Feastfox, I felt like I discovered a treasure! This app really helped me to change the way I visit restaurants :)

Pizza is pretty good. You can ask for your own extra toppings. Þere is an area not quite inside, not quite outside. It looks very nice. I have no complaints and really enjoyed it. Prices are a bit too high to visit again but it was still great. 10/10. Will never visit again.

My family and I loved Nonna Lina! The food was fantastic and we loved the vibe. After leaving, my sister said “I know where we’re going for my next birthday!” Definitely going back. Very friendly service and very welcoming!

A special place indeed. It was entirely an authentic Italian experience and the food was absolutely amazing! We had felt transported to Italy with the smells and the host was so welcoming and politely greeted us Buona Sera at arrival! I already knew i was gonna have a good time. Ordered the calamari starter, soft and flavourful! We ordered the Carbonara and Pasta con pisellii e prosciutto and wow amazing! We grabbed the nonna lina + ravioli to go and again, top value and authentic! The bruschetta as a welcome was a class touch! Highly recommend and cant wait to go back!

The food was delicious. We tried 2 vegetarian pizzas. They were delicious. The amount of veggies and cheese were perfect. Will definitely be back to try other items on the menu!

My company really enjoyed her calamari and side pasta, unfortunately I can't say the same for my chicken fillets and potatoes. Both were just short of being flavourful. The service was good. And I hear that they have really good pastas and pizzas so perhaps I'll give it a try one day when I'm in the mood for Italian. The restaurant itself is conveniently located and the setup is quite cosy.

The pasta at this establishment was very horrible-bland, undercooked. There was barely any sauce on it. I was disappointed judging from the great reviews it has.

Excellent Italian cuisine at reasonable prices. The place to go before or after a movie at the Labia or Theatre at UCT's Hiddingh campus.

Tasty food, warm atmosphere, friendly and efficient staff. Great choice if you're in the mood for some Italian. Good luck finding parking though. Bumped into my brother's girlfriend here but I like her so it doesn't affect my review.

Absolutely flipping delicious. Really impressed. I've reviewed hundreds of restaurants and this is one of the best. Seriously. Good for groups or couples, friendly staff, reasonably priced, well located (parking is tricky during busy times). Well managed, seriously a must visit!

Awesome pasta. I had a Spaghetti pancetta asparagi and tiramisu to follow. Both were really well made with good flavor balance. I did not feel bloated or to full. Really well made food and friendly service!

This place is amazing! The interior makes you feel like you are in Italy. The staff is very friendly and the food is really good. I had ravioli spinach and ricotta with tomato sauce 👍🏼

Terrible food. Italian done badly. Gnocchi was inedible. Chewy gnocchi? Seriously. Even I can make soft and fluffy gnocchi at home, for an Italian restaurant to make such an inedible Italian staple is unforgivable. The other dish ordered was bland - the tomato sauce was literally just that, no seasoning, no herbs, just the acidic taste of tomato, and pasta. The manager defended the gnocchi too. Not sure why, it really was inedible. I've had better Italian food at panarottis, which isn't saying much. Poor Nonna, she must be turning in her grave with shame.

Their crushed garlic in oil is so delicious with any food. They have a great variety of vegetarian foods. If you looking for authentic italian cuisine this is a great one. I almost never make reservations and they is always space on weekends.

Value for money

We arrived at an empty fully booked restaurant and received the last unreserved table for the night, right at the entrance. A few minutes after we sat down, the manager gave one of the booked tables away to a group that walked in. An hour after we arrived, our food was still on our table and our drinks were unfinished when the waitress asked us to leave because other guests wanted our table. She started clearing our drinks without asking if we were done (our glasses were still half and we were still busy with it). The new guests sat on a bench facing our table only 1.5 meters away, making it awkward for both parties. It was a really unpleasant experience.

Great Pizzas and Salads - did not try the pasta dishes but they looked really good. Pizza was very well seasoned, nice thin crust and plenty of toppings Service was quick and attentive- would recommend and would definitely return -

A cosy little spot with good food and a nice atmosphere. The pizza I had was pretty good as well the nonna lina pasta. Service was a bit slow but still very friendly.

Such great pizzas, a view over Orange street toward Hiddingh Hall, and up towards Table mountain, we enjoyed the friendly service and look forward to visiting there again.

We went here on Monday and the pasta was absolutely incredible. Definitely one of the best meals we had in Cape Town - really couldn’t recommend more if you want amazing pasta! Our waiter Laz was wonderful - thank you for making our night so special! We’re so glad we are here.

Would be a great experience if not for the restaurant manager completely destroying the mood. A friend recommended the place as one of her favorites, however the food was originally raw. This is ok as we realized early and notified the waiter. Second plate was beautifully done, however before this could happen, the manager clearly had something to get off his chest and insulted the table by letting us know that the food was in FACT 'perfectly cooked' and that he would know as a true Italian. Regardless of his opinion, the entire table agreed that it was not done as per the standard and we would have had a pleasant evening with no complaints, if he hadn't had the need to rant about this. I am not sure how such a place can undercook pasta to this degree. Rock-hard.

Got wet in the rain on route to Nonna Lina. The manager very kindly sat us down at a table next to the pizza oven to warm up and dry. We ordered pizzas and wine, which might have been the best I've had in all of Cape Town. The service was great, attentive, but not hovering.

If any Italian "nonna" saw this pizza she will jump over the window so she doesn't have to eat it. Ordered it via Uber, thinking that I was going to get a proper pizza based on the pictures they show there...I got a piece of flat dry bread with toppings, including pieces of raw tomato of dubious quality. If you have some respect for your taste buds, avoid this.

Excellent pizza! But the star was the Artichoke salad. An extremely generous portion packed full of artichokes, Pine nuts and other delicious morsels. Absolutely amazing. The waiter, Lazarus was outstanding. He was attentive, friendly, helpful and had interesting bits of information to share. He reminded us just how good, good service can be! I will go back when I’m in town again. For the food, but predominantly because of the excellent service. Well done Lazarus.

Great Italian food in a cosy restaurant. The pizza and the pasta are both very good. The restaurant is small but doesn't feel overcrowded or overwhelming when busy.

Sub par ingredients- the food never blows me away and is often too plain, over priced items for what they are, there are spelling errors on the menu and a pretty rude hostess at front of house. The experience is sadly the same every time I have been.

Popped in for a quick Sunday lunch pizza.. Everyone enjoyed their different pizzas. Great thin based wood fired pizza.. Was a good time.

Their veggie lasagna is really good so is the octopus, very tender. Food n drinks is reasonably price. Good and fast service. Highly recommend.

I've visited this restaurant numerous times and the service and food are excellent. Just a huge pity that they don't make vegan pizzas. Their salads and pastas are great and they're near the Labia movie theatre which makes it a perfect date night outing.
