The only time I had spaghetti alio and olio with tomato as an ingredient. Rigatoni was ok, but not more. Restaurant staff clearly underpaid by the owners. Not a place for dinner, rather for teens table dancing and bar mitzva parties. A ”Disco ball” kind-of-atmosphere. This was at 9 pm. See food pictures for actual disco reflections. The white guy at the door should switch places with their bouncer, considering his sassy tone scaring away dinner guests who we’re in line for dinner reservations at Zsa Zsa. Seeing other reviews on Google Maps, seems our company wasn’t the first ones he yelled at for no reason. Give him some anger management classes, please.

Had the most unwelcoming experience at Zsa Zsa last night. We supported their opening evening of the La Burlesque Show (which was truly sensational!). Unfortunately the service we received really put a dampener on the evening. We opted for the show only ticket (at R250) instead of the dinner and a show (for R650) because we decided to eat elsewhere. This was the only advertised distinction between the ticket options. When we arrived, we were the first to some really good seats. After which the hostess very bluntly informed us that we did not eat and therefore had to find seats "over there, somewhere at the back". The stage is unfortunately not raised and the floor plan is flat, meaning sitting at the back, you are left standing on chairs or bobbing and weaving to catch glimpses of the show. Now we do understand that the dinner package did pay more, but should we have been aware of this seating arrangement, we'd have happily opted for the dinner package. Our gripe is however not with the unfortunate seating arrangement, but with the manner in which we were received at Zsa Zsa. From the hostess shooing us away (again, it is not the fact that she did, but the way in which she did it); to the unoccupied barman at the empty bar downstairs telling us we need to purchase drinks from the upstairs bar (which was absolutely packed). We were offered seats again for next week's show, where we'd be ensured a better view. While we do appreciate the offer, the service we received really soured our evening (while apologising, the general manager even informed us that our R250p/p was really an "excellent rate" for what received). I have never been made to feel so unwelcome at an event before. Which is a shame, because the La Burlesque performance was truly incredible!

Where to even begin.. it was the first time hosting my birthday there, for international friends of mine.. I wanted to show them a good time, therefore decided to take the most expensive 3 course meal option for 19 of my guests, paid over 13k for food alone... the steaks arrived and my guests ate leather. All my guests requested med-rare. Not only was the food 1star quality, the Manager has no control over his staff and is not knowledgeable of how to handle a big group of patrons sending their plates back with a full meal still in it. We were not compensated for the horrific meals & horrendous service. If you're planning to host an event there that includes food, rather order a chef to come to your place & host your guests.

Great restaurant, and more than that. Very impressed with the service, vibe, food and interior design. Rib eye steak was done to perfection, and Zsa Zsa pasta was delicious. Our waitress Katy and Manager were all the time at our service. After the dinner we went to the floor up to a night club and had a really really good time with a live DJ. Definitely recommend

Great restaurant, good vibes. Between Zsa Zsa, Ava, and Darling, there really is an awesome trifecta of experiences. Recently they have taken a lot of flack for their tips policy, but as someone who worked as a waiter for years I know how unfair the regular tips handling policy is to back of house staff. I would routinely take home R5k in a night in tips, whilst runners and kitchen staff got their hourly wage. In South Africa it's doubly unfair, as those back of house staff simply have no other option but to work hard to retain their meager wages. Giving management the ability to split tips between front of house and back of house staff is - frankly - the only possible solution.

Unwelcoming experience. It started with the host making us feel like we weren’t good enough to be there. We attended a show there (which was amazing) but were flippantly told to ‘sit at the back’ due to buying tickets that excluded dinner. This was not previously communicated, and we missed half the show because we could not see anything. We were even told that the price of the ticket was ‘good value for money’. After my previous experience there when my handbag was stolen from hanging on the side of my chair, I swore never to go back, but wanted to support a friend in the show. What a shame that I have now had two negative experiences at this overrated snobby restaurant.

We had dinner a few weeks ago here. Well, I should rather say we attempted... very limited menu with horrible service. My pregnant friend asked what cocktails they can make virgin, and the waiter flat out said none. Then I asked if they have any vegan options, got the same response. Eventually, half of the table's order was taken and the rest of just went to the bar to get a drink or called the waiter back to order food. I didn't eat anything. Those who ordered food, they waited long and the food did not arrive at the same time. The booking fee was not automatically deducted from our bill. They have a club upstairs. The music is good, great decor and there is air conditioning. That somewhat saved the night.

I cannot for the life of me understand why restaurants do not understand the importance of ambiance during a late dinner. We got there for our 8:30 reservation and the place was cute, staff was nice, food was okay but it was SOOO BRIGHT it completely ruined the atmosphere. They had disco balls spinning and neon light decor; but you could barely even see it with how bright it was. Felt like we were eating in a food court. Shame.

25 Mar 2921: Could easily be a 5☆ joint (excuse the pun), BUT there is a big BUT... A stunning spot, great location, friendly staff and reasonable value for money food offering, BUT when the clock strikes close to 10pm, you will be subtly "pushed" out of the mezzanine section, receive a bill you have not asked for yet, be subjected to incredibly loud music as the IG generation and party revellers move in to relive (or practise for) the Plett Rage...no masks on entry, floor managers wear theirs as earrings while hovering around taking video clips for social media, no social distancing, people openly smoking cannabis, no respect for paying diners. I guess that's what happens when alcohol margins are chased before the midnight curfew... 1 Apr 2021: Good to see a response. Interesting though how you plan to address what you clearly tolerate and gave become known for. Start with the easy fixes and simple things like a 7" bouncer who's "Covid regulation blinkers" dissappear come allow party hour...

The best Cape Town has to offer!. From venue, staff to food. Ultimate service and taste! Amazing evening vibes! Especially after a disappointing experience at Hussar Grill, down the road...

We were there for their Magic Mike event. What an unorganized setup that was. They missed one of our starters, we enquired about it and the waiter said it's on its way and not to worry. It never came and when the mains arrived he scurried to the kitchen to get a starter, the wrong one of the two options we had. We finished our dessert just to see the table across from us were being served their mains. That worried us, then we enquired about the time the show will start, they gave us our armbands and led us to a already packed venue with limited seat options. Did that people even eat? Their cocktails are horrible and way too strong. The show was amazing and oozing with talent. The venue is beautiful and has a very unique vibe.

Their food menu is great, but what really makes the Zsa Zsa spectacular is the friendly bartenders always with a smile on their face. Music + vibe is always on point!

I have had dinner on many occasions where the food, service, management and general vibe is top class.A definite must if you looking for a great night to dine with friends or loved ones and where you also have the convenience of going upstairs to darling nightclub where you will also find some of the best music in town.

Wednesday night Karaoke hosted by the hugely talented Danielle Bitton is such a fantastic night out for anyone who loves music, singing in the shower or into a hairbrush! No matter your vocal ability you will be guaranteed to have a fun night of singing, laughter and make new friends! Thank you for one of the best nights I've had in Cape Town! 10 out of 10 from me! 💯

It's definitely a fancy dress code, no shorts policy restaurant. The food was amazing, music was of good taste but at times very loud.

Amazing service, staff are so attentive. Great tasting food and drinks that arrived fairly fast. The atmosphere was just beautiful, luxurious, and inviting. Highly recommend

We visited for a work function. Service is more than amazing! Seafood is apparently the specialty, but the sole was overcooked. Dining area was empty, so I am not sure why our food took so long either - we had to order entrées and mains together and still waited. The kitchen is not Halaal, but they did arrange for food from elsewhere for our Halaal colleagues. The bar and DJ are immediately above the dining area (and it's open plan), so this is not a restaurant suitable for easy conversation. The club on the top floor is nicely laid out but it's designed for drinking and dancing only, music is loud and conversation not possible. For a night out drinking and dancing, this is perfect, but definitely not for dining or chatting. The staff are efficient and friendly, 5 stars for service. Right up to making sure all patrons were safely either in Ubers, taxis or on their way to the next venue.

Food was world class, with a great service all around. Definitely recommend for those visiting the city. Had fried calamari for starters and they probably the best I have had for the year. The lamb shank and mash were excellent. Then the wagyu beef burger took the ‘cake’. Good music, great ambience and a service to match.

This place either needs to decide if it wants to be a restaurant or a club, they clearly cannot manage both. Food was VERY mediocre. I make a better steak at home than they can make in a restaurant. They are overpriced and their service sucks! First they messed up our booking for my friends birthday. Our booking was for 7:30pm, we had dinner at 10pm :) The took extremely long with our food, The music had already started blaring at 9pm. The club was good, not a place that I would have dinner at ever again though. Maybe just change the whole place into a club?

Hip, eclectic vibe. On weekends it’s busy with a DJ and lights- night club style. Great, catchy music. Tasty food. Friendly waiter was very solicitous.

Great atmosphere. Would go again if less crowded & don't have to wait 20 minutes at the bar. Other than that, great security, good music from top DJ's.

Zsa zsa was alright but ERIC.... Made it an extraordinary experience. From the moment we were met at the door we were greeted with a smile from ear to ear. Once again, shout Eric for his incredible hospitality and making our night one to remember.

So disappointed at what was planned to be an amazing evening. The music was so loud we could not even talk to each other without shouting and could barely hear each other. After time it got really annoying to the point where out whole evening was spoiled and we just wanted to leave. I can understand if it were after 9pm to have the music playing that loud but at 7pm when all we wanted was an intimate dinner? The food was average. Good portion size but at R250 a plate... average average. The waiters were non existent. We got served our meal and that was the last we saw of anyone. We walked to the bar and asked the barman to bring us our bill. We left really disappointed and to a point ripped off.

A great place to unwind oneself and enjoy a delicious meal, party vibe is perfect for social gathering, and dressed up beauties make everyone feel special. Only not recommend for first dates, loud music so you won't be able to hear each other properly. Come dive in and loose yourself.

Really fun restaurant to have dinner at, later on there's dancing and shooters at the bar upstairs. Food is good, beers are fresh, Castle Lite and Stella Artois on tap.

Trendy, upmarket spot in the CBD if you’re looking for a good dinner, drinks and some groovy tunes by their in-house DJ. The decor is lovely, with seating spread over three split mezzanine levels. The eating experience is fantastic too. From the complimentary breads to the mains. I recommend the Calamari. They offer a good range of cocktails. Speciality ones, your usuals such and a range of craft G&Ts.

This might be worse run place in Cape Town… from simply getting in to the completely rude people at the door. I believe his name was Brendan. He rudely pointed a finger at me and said, “you, shush. I’m not speaking to you” while we were trying to get to our booked table. After 45 minutes of being ignored at the door, the bouncer then only tells us that the ‘real entrance’ is on the other side. We were told over and over how it was too full and max capacity had been reached, yet the bouncer pushed us out the way and let in multiple of what seemed like his friends. Once eventually getting in and meeting with our friends, our evening was ruined and we all left immediately. Will never be going here again… such a pity as the venue is lovely but the crew are horrendous.
