We booked in on our first day taking 2 rooms for 6 nights so by no means a short visit… we decided to have a welcome drink in the bar with friends and asked the waitress for tequila she said they only had two options and never showed us a tequila menu nor a price we ordered 4 tequilas and kept on enjoying our friends company, we decided it was time for another round and till we had ordered 12 tequilas in total… we had two cocktails each which were on happy hour and we had two snacks…. The bill arrived and we were astonished to see a hefty R4000 bill!! The tequila alone was R3000 for 12 shots! Who in their right minds would charge an unsuspecting guest R3000 for 12 shots of tequila!! When i took this to the manager he merely answered “were they good at least”!!! There is no menu in the bar or indication of the price anywhere as i checked!!! So basically this hotel is extorting its guests… the rest of the hotel is sadly someone is trying to hard!! The staff are mostly arrogant and rude.. the parking guy wont move a cone out the way for me to park for 5 min… i am disgusted by the way this place operates!! Also we booked on booking.com so i will make sure i leave the same review… no pool and amenable offered on booking.com!!

I had the pleasure of staying here for 9 nights. Overall the hotel was lovely! The staff were warm, welcoming and attentive and the food was tasty. The gym was well appointed. The only “complaints” I have were that there was no kettle/coffee/tea in the room and it was impossible to take the stairs from the guest floors.

Super nice spot! We loved the design and decor, and the gym was the best hotel gym I’ve ever seen (included treadmills, stair master, many bikes, weight racks, dumbbells, weight machines, showers, etc.). Staff was super super nice as well. Only thing is no in-room coffee/tea, however there is an espresso shop downstairs you can purchase from without leaving the building. Overall we’d stay here again!

We stayed there for 4 nights in January. The room was clean, the beds were comfortable and the bathroom was neat. The staff members were very helpful, polite and friendly - especially at the reception. The breakfast was the same every morning, but it was tasty and offered a big variety of pastries and fruits, as well as fresh coffee, tea, eggs, mushrooms and sausages. At the time the hotel was newly built, so there were a couple of things we noticed that could have been better or didn't make sense. Firstly, check-in didn't go smooth as the parking lot was in the building opposite to Rockefeller. We got a card that we had to use to enter and exit this parking building, but the card was hardly working, so it was a pain to get to the car and back. In our room there was one light switch that didn't operate any lights. Also, the room was poorly lit, as there were lights (or bulbs) missing from their places. From our window we didn't have any view, only the wall of the building next to the hotel, so it didn't give a nice vibe. When we put the sign on our door that we don't want it to be serviced, the staff still entered the room and we found some things rearranged/cleaned when we got back. On our 3rd day, we also found that a carpet was randomly put in our room while we were away. The location is also not great - it is a bit too dodgy to walk, so you have to take the car, and other than a small gas station we didn't find any supermarkets or restaurants nearby. Overall we had a pleasant stay, considering that this was a newly founded hotel. It was well worth it for the price that we paid. I would recommend it to business travellers or people who want to stay at a more quiet part of the city.

We were there from 23 September 2023 - 28 September 2023. The hotel looks exactly as advertised. Staff were very friendly. I was more impressed by restaurant staff. I loved a wide range of streaming options. Our room was beautiful with everything we needed. I loved the decor and different shades of grey, stunning 👌

Three stars for the excellent staff and security. The staff are so friendly and helpful. The rooms are mostly clean with the floors and tables having some sticky items. What I didn’t like about the hotel was the two hour wait for room service. My order was wrong and the seals on the large waters were broken. Not that someone had opened them, but that the twist to break the seal was no longer functional. We could not open any water. We paid almost $90 for the total meal.

Choosing the Rockefeller Hotel Cape Town as a long term stay was the worst decision I could’ve ever made. I signed a long-term stay lease with the Rockefeller for 6 months, and it has been the worst hotel experience of my life. From rescinding, revoking and changing the benefits we were promised (the value proposition of staying there), to dismissive management, uncooked chicken and room raids. The hotel, without consent or our physical presence, decided to search our rooms for kitchen cutlery because presumably, long stay guests help themselves to the hotel’s crockery. I don’t know what evidence they relied on to specifically target long term stay guests but in the process, my cutlery was taken by the hotel’s admission. The disdain when the situation was reversed and I now needed my cutlery back was incredible. You feel unwelcomed, the service is lacklustre, you feel untrusted and like an inconvenience - you wonder why they even extend this option to guests if they serve so poorly. I would never stay at this establishment again, they don’t have their own parking, the entertainment area is inaccessible most times and the cleaning is poor. There’s no robes, slippers, free channels, I don’t know how they’ve maintained a 4 star rating with the grading council. NEVER AGAIN. They also dock a R 1,500 deep clean charge at the end of your lease no matter how spotless the room, even though weekly cleaning was part of the lease.

The worst place ever. Staff is extremely rude and abrupt. Couldnt access the pool either or rooftop and was practically chased down. Was told there was smoking designation when asked ed around as to where to smoke they just mumble abruptly and walked away. No privacy wot so ever. They keep coming do check ups every hour and walk in as if they belong there. No way one of addressing guess.. U have to stand outside in pouring rain to smoke. We ended up getting a R2500 fine and was half way threatened by staff to pay. I would never ever recommend this place to anyone.

Everything is lovely. The interior of the building in well kept and looks professional. The service is excellent and cannot fault that. Whilst convenient for town. It certainly is not the nicest area and parking is quite challenging and not very clear. Boardroom facilities are excellent although more available plug points would be beneficial. Food is excellent.

If you want a decent room and do not have to engage with anyone in this property - this hotel could be your choice. If you find some basic amenities that should be in the room and they were not there - keep in mind that it could take hours to have them delivered. We stayed at Rockefeller elsewhere and with a remarkable experience we had, it’s no brainer we chose to stay at this hotel to conclude our trip in SF. And obviously it was not a good choice. The staffs at the door were friendly and welcoming. The check in took longer than expected since there was only one staff at the reception. The restaurant at the ground floor was busy, food took forever, inattentive staffs, and you could not have it billed to your room even though you stayed at the hotel. After checking in I found out that the bathrobes and slippers were not in the room so we came down for dinner at the ground floor and I spoke to the reception to have those two items sent to the room. After a dinner which was almost two hours (food was slow). We went up and found out that nothing was delivered to the room. I called to the guest relation number from the phone book and nobody attended the call. I went down to the reception again to follow up and took another good ten mins to have just the bathrobe delivered. I needed to follow up again to get the slippers. The process was so exhausting and we didn’t not expect to encounter this level of service at Rockefeller.

We liked the rooms, they are very nice and super clean. The Hotel offers a breakfast buffet with a wide selection, which is also very good. The staff is super friendly 😊 To get into the city you need a car (10 minutes to V&A Waterfront) but with Uber that‘s noch problem. Perfect Hotel for a busy city-trip 😊

Not great. I expected much better. After paying almost R3000 for the most basic room per night, we were told breakfast isn't included. At another R225/pp, you can have breakfast. After asking about safe parking, we were told to add another R75 to the already crazy expensive bill. The room was neat and clean, but nothing special, and very, very small. The bed was as hard as granite and very uncomfortable. Didn't sleep at all. The basic cutlery and crockery were almost non-existent. The bathroom had no shelf space to place your toiletries. Had to put all on the floor. It's definitely not worth the money spent. Very disappointing. A total rip-off. I will not be back.

Horribly gross! I was there on vacation to celebrate my birthday with my friend. I booked the hotel two months in advance, requested a nice room with view. Instead I got this very very small, VERY dark room, facing a building. What made it worse was the room was not cleaned, twice! I had to call reception each evening when I got back. The service was abhorrent. We were informed we could take our breakfast at the pool bar 18th floor, then a waitress took our food away saying she would pack it and never returned. I honestly can't think of any positive experience from this hotel. I had a double twin bed that kept sinking in the middle! I

What a great experience. The rooms are beautifully decorated with all the amenities you can think of. The food was very tasty with a wide variety to choose from. The staff was very friendly and professional and attentive to all our needs and questions. We'll definitely be back in the future

Upon arrival we were greeted by very friendly security that helped us with our bags to the reception. We were lucky to get a nice room with a balcony that had views of the harbour. Staff were friendly throughout our stay and we always a good laugh with the security and hotel porters on our way past. Location is pretty down town and surrounded by buildings so limited rooms would have a view. Only thing holding it back from 5 stars for us is that there is a 10% surcharge dining in the restaurant. Also still expected to tip on top of that for the service the wait staff do. We sat down for a drink at 18:55 and were told the cocktail 2 for 1 special that was running daily from 17:00 to 19:00 actually finished at 18:55 and we couldn’t take advantage of this. If you state it finishes at 19:00, then it finishes at 19:00 not 5 minutes before in my opinion.

I was quite apprehensive spending the week 'in town' with my work being in Rondebosch. The commute was a breeze! In terms of the hotel itself, I have to mention their gym. Well equipped, clean, temperature controlled, and modern. The restaurant makes the best pasta in the area! The room too, was well designed, equipped and cleaned daily.

We had a lovely stay at the hotel. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The room had all the basics that we needed, however it would’ve been nice to be provided with more of the free small water bottles and a vanity kit (comb/shower cap/cotton swabs). We asked the front desk for more water, however they brought us a big glass bottle of still water and charged us for it. Would still come again for a short stay.

Rooms are stunning however the service is not up to standard. Had to request housekeeping twice just to get my room cleaned. Paid daily for parking. The pool is much smaller than what it looks online and overall place is quite noisy. Definitely not kid friendly. More for business class and young generation

Overall this was a great stay! We stayed for roughly a week and really enjoyed everything, in particular the kindness and can do attitude of the staff which always made sure everything went well for us! I would definitely recommend to anyone and we will surely be back. Highlight: the bed is extra comfy Can be improved: the air con in the lobby is insanely cold

An exceptional hotel with high standards of hospitality. I cannot remember when last I was this impressed with a hotel. The breakfast is out of this world, the selection, the freshness. I will tell you that it's a urbanised, trendy and youthful hotel. It's great for those who are not too precious about silence. I enjoyed my 5 night stay!

I visited this hotel earlier in June this year for mine and my husbands honeymoon it was a great experience staff were very welcoming and prepared the room for us which I cannot thank you enough for and this was our first time. However I received an email shortly after our stay that we would get a discount with discount code provided for our next online booking which I attempted to use but discounted code never worked, after emailing back to say it didn't work I never received a response from the gentleman which is so unprofessional and I actually looked forward to booking again as we work really close by hence my one star rating I am so displeased.

What a gorgeous hotel! Friendly and helpful staff! Clean modern rooms! Delicious food! Affordable! We stayed for 2 nights on floor 16, and will definitely be returning! The views from bed is breathtaking! Close to the WaterFront.

We were so well-received and treated like royalty by the friendly staff. Our stay was made even more special when we were treated with a wedding anniversary dessert by them last night. We will recommend your hotel to everyone we know and will definitely put you on our "have to visit again" list.

Stayed for 2 nights. Everything about the place is amazing. Staff very helpful. The room was neat and clean. The service at the restaurant was top notch, specifically Gqobisa. She made sure we are well taken care of. The Club Sandwich is a winner, the best that I have ever had👌👌👌

Can't ask for anything more in terms of its target market. The rooms were perfect, check-in seamless, check-out seamless, great restaurant, great lobby, great bar area, and great buffet breakfast. Very central in the heart of Cape Town city. Staff are very helpful. Parking is limited but feasible. Good value overall. A special thank you to Mia at Guest Relations for making my birthday extra special.
