So much to see, try and buy..

I was on this Island "l'île de goré" for tourism. It's a lovely island to be in. It's not too expensive to get here but it's a fair bit still.We had a very nice cruise ship from Dakar to the island. It was fun. They also have some slave trade monuments there as well and very nice tour guide to tell the stories and give information. The beach is absolutely beautiful. The shops there are full of African stuffs

The shop keepers are so damn annoying for they actually grab your arm and try to drag you to their stall. I almost had a punch fight with a guy who was so touchy. Do not hesitate to confront the shol keepers if they grab your arm or block your way. They say "just to look", make sure you are so strict with these people. Dont buy anything here. Go towards the hill instead and do some shopping from the talented and respectful artists

Horrible. Completely ruined by the legion of women aggressively hawking China-made trinkets/junk. I did my best to be polite and understand that COVID has hit the industry hard. But the aggressive saleswomen start approaching you on the ferry from Dakar, begging you to visit their shops. While walking around the island, they will find you and insist that you visit their stalls (one even grabbed me by the arm). Their wares are utter garbage—screen-printed, faux-African clothes, tie-dye scarves, keychains, coasters, bags/clutches and assorted rubbish. They are not craftspeople, their wares are neither original nor are they African, and, in general, they sell items worth US$1–US$2 ea. at most. However, they ask ridiculous prices, upwards of US$20 or even US$40. The ladies' relentless harassment was immensely frustrating. If you visit, don't be afraid to be firm with the saleswomen, as others have mentioned, they truly don't know how to take "no" for an answer.

Haha I have to laugh out loud on this one It was fun and I met some funny people too. Yeah But apart from the funny part they sell good African stuffs, beautiful jewelleries and nice African clothes I loved it
