this Museum is located at Mirpur beside Bangladesh Bank Training Academy. This project is taken regarding the enlargement of the currency museum into money museum. The country’s eminent artists, architects and historians have worked together for the museum along with the central bank to make it launch. Museum authority has collected local and foreign coins and banknotes in different ways to enrich this museum. The museum has now thousands of coins and notes. Bangladesh Numismatic Collectors’ Society handed over 100 coins of different eras to the Currency Museum of Bangladesh Bank. If you wish to visit this museum, You can come to see this Museum from different locations of Dhaka City. There are so many buses moving towards Mirpur-2. It’s few kilometer south-west from Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium. You can take buses from Syedabad bus stand or Mohakhali bus stand or Farmgate bus stand to visit this Unique Museum of Bangladesh.

If you are interested in the history and culture of Bangladesh, you should not miss the Taka Museum of Bangladesh. This museum, located in Mirpur, Dhaka, showcases the evolution of the Bangladeshi currency, from the ancient coins to the modern banknotes. The museum also displays various artifacts related to the economic and political history of the country, such as medals, stamps, seals, and documents. The best part is that there is no entrance fee for visitors. You can enjoy the museum for free and learn about the rich heritage of this nation. You can also book a guided tour for a more informative and interactive experience. The Taka Museum of Bangladesh is a unique and fascinating place to visit.

If you want to know about currency, you should definitely come here. All the currency patterns from the ancient times to the present are found here. I was really fascinated when I came to the money museum. Unfortunately, the 3rd floor gallery was closed for visitors today.

The money museum is located in Mirpur 2 Dhaka city. The museum is in a very clean and tidy environment. It has a full T air conditioner that will leave you feeling a bit different when visiting. You can find money in all the countries of the world here at this museum. Also, almost all the coins of ancient times have been preserved here. Those who love to read history must visit here once. Here you will find the convenience of adding your picture in Dhaka. No need to purchase any tickets for inspections.

When I was a college student, I used to go by bus from Mirpur 1 to Mirpur 10(Mirpur Girls' Ideal Laboratory Institute) ,I always saw the taka museum, through the window of the bus. But,i could not go to the museum for various reasons... Finally on 21/05/2022 i went to the Museum with one of my friend.Outside the museum is decorated with many beautiful trees. The interior of the museum is quite large, clean, captivating. The entrance fee to the museum is not taken. As a result, everyone can come to the museum effortlessly. Inside the museum only wallets, mobiles are allowed. Most visitors to the museum are college-university students. The museum has 1 gallery on the 2nd floor and 2 galleries on the 3rd floor. There is a small Kids-zone on the 2nd floor. The atmosphere inside and outside the museum is captivating, The staff behaves very well, friendly. Anyone can deposit their collection coins/money in the museum. New-ancient, almost all types of exchange media are on display. In this museum, Bangladeshi Bank-notes and coins ,which are previously used and not currently in circulation, are stored, which will remind childhood memories. All in all the trip to the museum was a great experience. I think everyone should visit this museum.

Taka Museum or Currency Museum is located in Mirpur, Bangladesh. Metal coins and paper notes of different periods from ancient Bengal to modern times have been stored and displayed in this Taka Museum. Also on display are many wooden boxes and iron chests used in ancient times to hold coins. Taka Museum is located on the second floor of Bangladesh Bank Training Academy. Originally, the work of collecting currencies started in the main building in 2009, but in 2013 it was officially inaugurated as Taka Museum. No ticket is required to visit or enter this museum, it is absolutely free. Taka Museum is open daily from 00:11 am to 07:00 pm, except on Thursdays and public holidays. Only on Fridays, it is open from 04:00 pm to 07:00 pm. The weekly closing day is Thursday. From anywhere in Dhaka you have to go directly to Mirpur-1 or Mirpur-10 Gol Chotwor. From there you can walk or take a rickshaw to the Taka Museum. However, people know this place more as Bangladesh Bank Training Center. Rickshaw fare from Mirpur-1 or Mirpur-10 Gol Chotwor is 15-20 taka.

Hundreds of wooden boats fan out around their moorings in patterns that resemble flowers. The boats, decorated with colorful patterned rugs, are ready to transport workers from the outskirts of Dhaka in Bangladesh to their jobs in the city center.🤩🤩🤩🤩 The Buriganga River is used as a route into Dhaka for millions of workers every day. The city, home to around 19 million people, is one of the most densely populated in the world.

You can see lot of old coins, Bank notes, gold, silver coins. Entry fee is free. Open every day except the holidays. Place was well decorated and clean, fully secured and managed by staff. However the staffs are very rude to people. You can not take photos from inside the museum but take your phone with you. Also can purchase the special notes.

Bangladesh Bank Taka Museum is an excellent place for those who want to pass some quality time as well as gathering time. The entry is completely free for everyone, just need to provide name and address in the entry book. No one can carry a bag into the gallery. All kinds of bag need to submit in a locker. There are two gallery. In gallery number one, there are all kind of Bangladeshi money are displayed. In gallery two there are some foreign money are displayed. Whole indoor area of taka museum are covered with chilled AC. There is a snacks corner where fast food such as sandwich, hotdog, burger, ice cream served. This snacks corner do not serve coffee, they only serve tea. Overall environment is satisfactory and gathered nice experience. Thanks to the authority of Bangladesh Bank for taking such initiative.

To speak the truth, I did not expect such a good experience. The architecture of the museum itself is eye catching. The open space design gives you an impression of freedom and relief. Then comes the main attraction, i.e. the notes and coins. Starting from Mourya age to the present day Bangladesh, the coins and notes from all the ages have been presented. My favorite are the silver coins from the Mughal era and the gold coins from the Sultanate of Delhi. There are coins from the British era, notes from the Pakistan era, and all the notes from 1971 to 2021. There are the casts used for minting coins, and the commemorative coins. You can buy commemorative notes and coins which can be collected as souvenir (the coins are a bit expensive though). The funniest part is the photo kiosk where you can take your photo and print it on a one hundred thousand taka note. All in all, great experience and highly recommended. Oh, the entry is free, and Thursday is closed.

Excellent place for curious persons. This is the first and only museum in Bangladesh which deal with the history of numismatics though National museum and other museum have some objects regarding this subject matter. Anybody can informed about the origin and development of currency, history and chronological stages of coin and currency of Bangladesh and can see the objects which is so fascinating. The location is very prominent place, just stone throw distance from the National Cricket Stadium. The entry fee is free for all.

(Translated by Google) On the way to the boy Neil's school, Rose sees the money at the museum, one day he will see it. I went with the boys one day. Bangladesh Bank's money museum is located next to the rural office at Mirpur 2. At first sight it seemed very good. Beautiful architecture, aesthetic infrastructure and floral enclosure captivated the mind. I entered my phone with the name of my two sons and entered. The two galleries of the museum are arranged in layers, with coins of various shapes and notes on color paper. Seeing the ancient gold and silver of the Indian subcontinent, the boys are moving forward. Harikela has also caught the eye of civilization, coins of the Sultanate period of Delhi and Bengal, the Mughal and the common currency of the British period. Seeing these ancient coins of curry, zinc, silver, copper and gold, the eyes of the king are waning. There is a leak of money, one paise, four fetches, old fine handsome one, two bucks, five bucks. Different information and history of currency and notes are available through the digital touch screen, but it is better to look at the coins than in your own eyes. There were also several commemorative notes of Bangladesh, 1 rupee note, 5 rupee note, 20 rupees. I saw some money in different countries, how different and how colorful they all are. They printed two notes of one lakh rupees with pictures of my Ducklings for only 5 rupees. Great souvenir. The money museum is open from 7am to 5pm on Saturdays and Wednesdays, except Thursdays and public holidays. I am thinking of taking my wife this time. I found it amazingly. It is totally air conditioned as well as it has also separate washroom for male and female. It has also rest room and pure drinking water facilities with neutral, cool and hot temperature. Washroom needs to be more cleaned. Price of the food near side museum needs to be reasonable. The most interesting fact is that it is totally free for visitors. All of you can visit there and can get immense knowledge of the evolution of monetary systems. Many things associated with money could have been included.

ladesh Bank established the museum, the first of its kind in the country, beside the Bangladesh Bank Training Academy with a collection of over three thousand coins and currency notes. Keeper of the Taka Museum Dr Achia Khanom Likhon said:“Former Bangladesh Bank Governor Dr Atiur Rahman took the initiative in 2012 to establish the museum equipped with modern technology and facilities to preserve and exhibit the history and tradition of currency,” reported UNB. “In 2009, the museum was established on the third floor of the main building of the central bank at Motijheel, but that was not open to all. Now, visitors can visit the ‘Taka Museum’free of cost.” At the museum, coins and currencies are currently exhibited in two galleries. The first contains 43 display cases with approximately 1100 objects.  The story of the evolution of coins and currencies starts right here. The gallery shows its visitors how people traded goods long before the tradition of coins and bank notes prevailed. The ancient silver punch marked coins of the fourth to second century BC (Before Christ)speak of the earliest history of coins in Indian subcontinent. The collection also includes Kushan coins from 30 to 375 AD (Anno Domini), Indo Greek Silver coins from 2nd to 1st century AD, Cowry shells, Harikel Coin from 7th to 9th century AD.

Collection is good but the lighting setup is terrible. Items can not be seen properly. Design & texture on coins are not visible due to this lighting problem. No entry fee is needed. Taking photo and video inside the museum is prohibited. Two galleries were open when I visited there. One with local currencies, from different ages of this region. Other with different foreign currencies. Different commemorative coins can also be bought from here.

Taka Museum was established first as a Currency Museum in 2009 at the 3rd floor of the main building of Bangladesh Bank at Motijheel. But that was not open to all. Considering the importance and necessity Dr. Atiur Rahman, honorable governor of Bangladesh Bank took the initiative to establish a full fledge currency museum in 2012 equipped with modern digital facilities, technology, architecture & art so that the glorioushistory and traditions of our currency can be preserved in a befitting manner. Later on this currency museum was named as Taka Museum. Taka Museum started its journey on 27 April, 2013 with the foundation stone laid by Sheikh Hasina, honorable Prime Minister of the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh. The museum was inaugurated formally on 5 October, 2013 by Dr. Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury, honorable Speaker of the national assembly. From then the museum is declared open to all.
