Did not look like anything on the website. The room was old, the carpets were old and dirty and not at all what we had expected. Also , we had seen advertising about washer and dryer in the room. It's not true at all. We decided to leave and found a wonderful hotel in the area that had a room available. The Brooks is definitely more up to our standards.

They are frauds. Liars. Do not trust this hotel. We booked a stay through our travel rewards points on our credit card and ordered a single room. Upon arrival they said a single room means a single person. My husband and I were traveling together they could only accommodate 1 of us. They refused to let us stay in the hotel. We had to spend all day searching for new accommodations otherwise we (or at least one of us) was supposed to sleep on the street. They had no solution for us. On top of that they said we were discriminating against the manager because we asked to speak with someone who was more in charge (someone above the manager) and they interpreted that as discrimination against women. The manager said she will cancel and give us our money back and when we came back to get our stuff after we found other accommodations they said they are not refunding us In a response to my husband's review below they said he was swearing at them, which was absolutely untrue. He was obviously upset but never swore at anyone. They twist their stories. Do not stay here!!

Centrally located in a quiet street, our room was on the 4th floor, very clean, comfortable with big bathroom and firm mattress. Receptionists were all very kind and helpful. Bad view from the room but we didn't mind, it was quiet and we had privacy. I would definitely stay in this hotel again.

Couldn’t have picked a better hotel! First, I want to compliment the staff, specifically Jakob who was absolutely incredible. After a long day of traveling he was determined to make sure we had a room ready as soon as possible. He took our phone number and said he would contact us as soon as a room was ready, which was way above and beyond. Every member of the staff we spoke to was extremely kind. The rooms was clean and comfortable! Our bathroom even had a towel warmer! If you’re considering staying in the temple bar area, I highly recommend Handels hotel! It also only a 6 minute walk from the Dublin express airport bus which was super useful!

I honestly thought Handel's was so, so great. The staff were so friendly and kind and made our stay ten times better. We had our water bottles filled every day and I wasn't expecting fresh towels and the bed to be made every day--but it was! I love that there is a storage room for bags so that you don't have to carry everything with you after check out! Also love the accessible rising floor in the foyer and the lift to the rooms. The beds are comfy, there was a Bluetooth speaker in the room and the shower was good too! I felt so safe, valued and welcomed here and I'd definitely stay again.

LIARS, FRAUDS, RUDE AND DISCRIMINATORY. No people's skills. Awful. Customer service is disgusting. The manger has no manners. BE WARNED. When you order a single room, it means that if you have a partner, he/she is not allowed to stay, despite having a queen bed, king bed or even two beds. This is verbatim from the manager. Upon questioning this logic, she said it is the way. We asked if they can accommodate in any way and they refused. AGAIN, STAY AWAY BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY. Awful attitude, nonexistent customer service. UPDATE: The response provided by the "owner" of the hotel is fallacious and horribly distorted. I never swore at the staff. I have the video of the interaction. Yet another example of how Handle Hotel conducts their business. By lying. Being upset at the fact that I ordered a room (one room with a queen bed and not a "single" room) and being told that I cannot share it with my wife is pretty significant. No measure was taken to accommodate. The manager, Evelyn, with attitude and condescending tone, finally offered to give us the money back only for us to later find out that it wasn't the case. SHAME ON YOU, GUYS for this pitiful response. I hope more people see this review and not book with you. I have a cardiac condition and your hotel chose to kick me out. Discriminitory. Shameful. And, yes, while looking for our new place NOT ONE hotel had "single room means single person" policy nor did they know any incidence of hearing similar dishonest practices. DO NOT BOOK!!!

Great location, tidy, clean and decor is decent. Stayed in a heatwave and the rooms are like saunas, just a fan to push the hot air round but the hotel can't help what mother nature is throwing at us! Staff polite and helpful and it's a quiet hotel but not far from the action. Would stay again

A charming hotel at the center of old Dublin. Walking distance from Dublin castle as well as the Guinness brewery and many distilleries, historic sights and restaurants. Built on the sight of and named for the first public performance of Handel's Messiah, it's a great place to stay when visiting Dublin.

Biggest issue was the remodeling and noise with it. So definitely not 5 stars. But honestly. No hotel is 5 stars. Especially when none of them have fridges. Or microwaves. But they do have that hot water boiler. The staff was friendly. Elevator was out until the last of 3 days I believe we were there. Prime location. We also had a small view of the river. There's a Taco place around the corner. Go to it! Oh also no ventilation for the shower. So be quick or you'll sweat for an hour. I went in May. Fairly fat but not a sweaty person. 50-60 out. Couldn't cool down. Photos are post stay. I usually don't rate hotels but I am starting. Hard to take pics when your lugging around luggage. Oh the main reason for 3 stars. Beds were terrible in our longest stay. Just bad. I have no complaints for the other 6 hotels. I thought it was a Europe thing until I came here. Killed my back.

Perfect location, super friendly and helpful staff and central heating that could warm even my heart. Just what is needed in the middle of winter. Pre-arrival comms were also excellent and so helpful. The best review I can give is that I'll be staying here next time I'm in Dublin.

I probably wouldn't recommend this hotel. It's a no frills hotel that doesn't really have lobby. Just a small room with a front desk person. Some front desk people are nicer than others. The hotel is pretty in-flexible with checking in early or late, even if it's by an hour. Also it's very noisy when you're in the room and you constantly hear the doors from other rooms slamming.

This hotel is located in the city center and very close to the main attractions of Dublin; at the same time the area is very quiet, I have never slept so well in my life! The room was spacious and provided with all comforts (Nespresso coffee machine, bottles of water, hospitality chocolates, additional pillows and blankets, smart TV, soft towels, toilet paper, shower gel and shampoo, etc.). The bed was very comfortable, the sheets and pillows were clean and soft. The room was very clean: there was not any trace of dust or dirt neither on the carpet nor on the furnitures in the bedroom, while I smelled bleach in the bathroom (this aspect demonstrates the care for the guests' health in this pandemic period). The reception staff was very kind and helpful, and always ready to address our needs and requests (especially Jakub and Janine). This hotel is definitely the best place I have stayed in so far, thus I look forward to come back!

Completely reasonable for the price. Rooms are clean, staff is very friendly and the location almost couldn't be better with the exception of a bit of noise from the pub next door in the evenings. Also unfortunately the breakfast is a miss the eggs were stale, bacon was sad, they were a bit slow to refill and the options were limited

Fantastic central location, you can get around Dublin by foot. The staff was nice and welcoming, happy to answer all our questions, and rooms were clean and spacious. Breakfast was tasty and overall we loved the stay at Handel's Hotel!

We are currently here😄.A good, no frills ,clean hotel! I would compare it to a Premier Inn tbh! The reception team are very friendly, helpful, and cannot fault them!A good location, but be prepared the walk about 20 minutes to get to central shopping street!Room very clean and bathroom is HUGE!Definitely worth 2 nights stay☺

Excellent Location, clean rooms and wonderful staff. We spent two wonderful weeks at this hotel in Dublin. The location of this historic hotel is simply superb; it is located in a quiet area, yet a few minutes walk gets you to endless restaurants, cafes, shops, and churches whether in the famous action-packed and bustling Temple Bar area or the city center of Dublin. The entire staff (receptionist, housekeeping, and the owner/manager Christian) was superb, very friendly, helpful and accommodating. The room was spacious, well-furnished, and very clean. The receptions was available 24 hours and always met us with a welcoming smile. We enjoyed our stay at this affordable hotel which we highly recommend. We look forward to staying at Handel's Hotel again. Sabah & Vicky.

Excellent hotel with super service. From the moment we arrived we were looked after so well by the friendly management and staff who were so accomodating. The rooms are great as well as the cafe and breakfast areas. The location is amazing. Highly recommend Handel's Hotel!

Nice cosy room, not costly. Excellent location and the staff are super friendly and helpful. You can leave your bags there and collect them if you're not ready to check in yet, or if your flight is much later and you don't want to carry bags with you all day.

Absolutely loved it,solo travelled! Room is perfect and cozy. Location is very good as it is close to almost everything.Temple bar is just 5 minutes walk from it which is the main street let's say.If im ever back i will be staying here again...! Staff is polite and will help you.

The hotel was pretty basic and the beds not very comfortable. There was no breakfast but there was a nice breakfast cafe a few metres further with a very lovely breakfast for a good price. The staff was very friendly and the hotel is located at the end of the temple bar zone which is perfect for a night out in the town. All in all a good stay.

It’s in a really good convenient location, the pricing is pretty fair also. I’d say the room was to a clean standard also. But it is a pretty tight room with no fridge and heat control. It does have a fan which helps. The beds are quite stiff and there’s not much of a front lobby. Honestly not bad for what you end up paying for, it is a 3 star hotel.

Got a triple room, really good rate and attentive communication with the hotel but 2 of the bed side lights didn't work and there was nowhere to plug them or anything else in beside the bed. Went to move one of the lights to the dressing table thinking I could at least plug it in there while I did my make-up...nope round pin on plug and socket doesn't accept it

Decent hotel, nice rooms, shame it was a construction site whilst staying there! Can't moan about the noise outside, it's the middle of Dublin! Staff weren't really interested, but if you had a pneumatic drill next to your head all day would you be? Overall an average experience.

  • 3/5 Davika N. 1 year ago on Google
Definitely convenient as it is located close to lots of restaurants and stores for shopping. The room was on smaller side which made it challenging for two adults however, I did like the shower setup. The service could have been better. The staff on site were inflexible about checking in early and checking out a little later.

had a great stay! the room we were in was lovely and the hotel itself is in a great location, theres a cafe literally right next door for breakfast and tons of shops and restaurants and things to do just a few steps away. would love to stay again.

We stayed at the Hotel for a two night stay in Dublin. The location of the hotel is very good as it is very close to the Temple Bar. Unfortunately the following points weren‘t that great: 1. The hotel does not have air conditioning and it gets very warm at night. A fan is provided but it does not really help that much 2. Sleeping with open windows is nearly impossible due to the noise. A pub has their storage close by and starting 00:30 you can hear the beer barrels being transported outside etc. 3. The hotel staff is not very customer oriented. They were polite, yes, but no „How was your stay? Is there anything I can assist you with?…“ Maybe the staff needs some training on how to treat guests properly 4. Shower and toilet flush din‘t work - a staff member came to check. It worked after we figured out how to use it (multiple pressing of the flush, certain way to regulate the water pressure) but the announced manager that would take care of it the next day never came. Over all a good hotel which price is affordable but if you expect high standards or good service you should chose another hotel.

Ok for a night or two and good value for money especially considering the location.

  • 4/5 Dana D. 1 year ago on Google
Great location but definitely noisy with drunken people stumbling in at all hours of the night from the bars. The clock on Christs Church also goes off every 15 minutes, 24/7. The rooms are decent and the staff is kind.

The hotel was clean and easy to find. It was located near many places. It is going through renovations but it didn’t bother us. The only complaint was the church bells going off for over an hour one day. The occasional Pub partier walking the streets. The building felt safe and the staff cleaned the room daily. We were able to order take outs when we were to tired to go out.

Booked Handel's hotel as a couples night away. Had stayed here previously and found it a nice visit so didn't think twice about staying again. Our room was clean, everything provided as detailed on the booking site (not hotels own website). It was clear when we arrived that the reception area had recently had a facelift .. some obvious tarp covering mirror/walls . We enjoyed our evening out.. returning to a comfy , cosy bed, with blackout blinds ensuring we slept with minimum annoyance by lighting outside. However woke by workmen at 9am using drills.. sounded right next to room.. not good.. was actually from ground floor.. not expected as we received no correspondence following the booking that our stay would be affected by noise etc. Having a day off work and the opportunity to have a sleep in - ye don't want to be woken by such a racket...Guests should be made aware of the renovations taking place at the time of booking - Regardless of what site they book through..it should not be my responsibility to contact the site Ive booked through to alert them that works are on-going (as suggested by the receptonist) .. It does say on the hotel own website 'we're making improvements.. dont worry it won't affect your stay..your comfort and stay are our priority..we've carefully planned our renovations in a way that won't disturb or interrupt you.." screenshots taken. Well that is untrue. It did disturb and interrupt us.. if we had booked through hotels own site we would have seen this..so take care if booking through another booking website.. nothing to indicate this. Wish the hotel all the best with upgrades and all the best for the future but will not be staying again.

Super! We found it last minute with a very good priece. Excellent value for money. Very helpful and courteous staff. Parking available 200 m on foot at a very special rate with the hotel (the caretaker is very nice!!). Excellent location with many places for breakfast and dinners (very good the bistrò near!). They are also building a new pub under the hotel, which will be used by the hotel to increase its services. Bedroom and bathroom were ok. We slept very well. It was a good staying. Thanks!

DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!! They refused a refund after we complained about our room being unusable due to construction. You literally couldn't hear anyone in your room talking due to the construction being done on the ceiling below our room. When we asked to be moved to a different floor the front desk attendant said they were full and it was only from 9 to 5 for construction, so we will just have to deal with it. At our next hotel the managers went, oh yeah, we know that place, we wouldn't recommend staying there to anyone and travelocity told us they had 3 complaints that week about the hotel. Save your money and peace of mind and find a different hotel.

  • 3/5 Deerly V. 2 years ago on Google
The staff were really nice and helpful, the room was a decent temperature, the location was great, bed was comfy, there was a lift to our floor, couldn't hear our neighbors, there is an eco-effort. The problems with our room are that the bed was at a weird angle to the desk, no kettle, very loud construction early in the morning, the fans from the building were so loud, there was stairs to the entrance which might not work for some people, the shower was really difficult to operate and we couldn't figure it out, duvet cover kept trying to fall off.

Very polite personnel. The room was clean with coffee machine inside and the lemon caramel was great too 😋
