Worst experience in Istanbul so far. I arrived in your hotel and the 2 guys at the reception just make fun of me and insulted me in Turkish (poor guys I understand Turkish); only cause when I booked I asked for a lower bad and I wanted it cause I have height problems; but they told me “no choice u allready pay only upper bed”. Second thing room are dirty, underwear in windows, my bed looked like someone slept inside it, locker for bathroom and shower room was broken; and those 2 guys was making fun of my problem!?!? I make fun of your hotel ! Looks nice from outside but inside better to avoid, I suggest u to look around u can find better hostel for better price 😉 never again Rodamon

Stayed here for 4 nights 8n a female only dorm. Beds are comfortable and you have your own curtain for privacy. Big draw to put your bag and lock it (with your own lock) Great location to walk to places from there. Nice quiet hostel with no bar which is actually nice from the hustle and bustle outside. Would recommend.

First looks are deceiving: while it looks modern on the outside and the room was indeed relatively clean, the stay overall was not very pleasant. Located right next to one of the major roads in Istanbul with poor sound isolation (and thus loud street noise 24/7). Bad smell (probably from the sewage) in the entire room and especially the bathroom (I got moved to another room due to a broken lock in my first assigned double room, and this was the case in both rooms). Internet stopped working several times during a two-day stay. Pillow was very thick and uncomfortable to sleep on. Personnel didn't handle the issues very well and also no apologies for the issues. Elevator made scary noises as if scratching the wall (and reading other comments it was apparently under repair several times). For the same price you get significantly better rooms in Istanbul.

Air conditioning did not work, windows and heating are right next to 2 out of 4 beds so either the room will be too hot or too cold for 2/4. Also during my stay (winter) the rooftop and elevator were not available. The location is good, staff friendly and beds clean. All in all worth the money

It's nice hostel but needs few improvements... Socket in the bed wasn't working. Lack of toilet paper in toilets in the common area (7 toilets without paper). Windows are thin and not isolated properly. Elevator was not working (going up to floor 5 few times a day was a nightmare). No kitchen available for guests. Internet is okay, hostel is very modern. Could be much better if they care about details...

Me and my friend stayed here for 3 nights and the service was good. We had the room cleaned-up every day, the room look exactly the same as in pictures, they are modern and cool. The staff was friendly, we also had the possibility to borrow hair dryer from reception. The only thing I can add that could make a difference to some people is the noise. If you are sensitive to traffic noise, please bring ear plugs as the sound of the traffic may disturb your sleeping (with windows closed). I personally had no issue with that, but my friend did.

The best hostel in Istanbul! It is located in a good neighborhood and 5 minutes from the metro station. Its facilities, its receptionists, everything is top quality. But what I liked the most were the spaces to work, something very precious if you are a digital nomad. In short, hotel quality at hostel prices.

Pros - amazing shared space for working with plenty of seating and pretty quiet - good location, walking distance to tons of places of interest - the way the bunk beds were set up in the room allowed for great privacy. - room was cleaned daily and sheets were changed once every three days or so. Cons - the sewage smell in the room bathrooms was honestly unbearable. It would seep into the room and linger. - the internet cut off every day, more than once a day, and would basically not reach the rooms. - the underbed lockers had a strange locking system where my soft handle lock wouldn’t actually secure anything. You could buy the proper lock from the front desk, but I had one and didn’t want to get another. I’d heard good things from The Central House chain from other fellow travellers, so I’ll have to try the locations in other countries. Will probably not come back to this one.

I want to share my experience at Central House Istanbul Galata Hotel to warn others. They falsely claimed to provide double beds but only offered single beds. The breakfast was limited and of poor quality, failing to meet basic standards. The staff's behavior was inconsistent, with some being nice while others were rude and uncooperative. The rooms were extremely small, lacking comfort and space, and the WC had an unpleasant odor. Overall, I cannot recommend Central House Istanbul Galata Hotel due to the inadequate bed arrangements, disappointing breakfast, inconsistent staff behavior, and unsatisfactory room conditions. I suggest considering alternative options for a more enjoyable stay in Istanbul.

I stay at Rodamon for 4 nights. I have to say this is the best hostel I ever booked in my life. The rooms are very nice, clean and the beds are very comfy. The staff is extremely nice and there's also a common area. The location is great as from there everywhere is walking distance. I highly recommend this place.

We were very pleasantly welcomed by Gizem🥰. She helped us a lot and gave good service. Actually all of the people working at the reception were great. The stay was nice as well, will definitely come back if I visit Istanbul again x!

I stayed at the Central House for 5 nights and had a wonderful time. They got the wifi working properly before I got there so I did not have an issue at all - which I was traveling with limited data so wifi is a must. The rooms are spacious and there are two showers to each room so you do not have to feel like you are waiting for a shower after coming from exploring in the heat. The staff is super friendly and very helpful! This is also a great hostel to meet people if you are a solo traveler like myself. The common areas are perfect to socialize or if you want something more quite, you can go to the central floor and have a quite work space - if you do not feel like socializing. You are in a great location to get around - there is a bus stop right by, so if you do not want to stay in the touristy part of Galata you can easily get out for the day and explore the rest of the city - which I recommend.

I stayed for 9 days in a double room. I loved my stay, the place is awesome and the people running it as well. The location of the hostel is probably its strongest asset, Istiklal Cad & Galata Tower are in a walking distance and there you can find pretty much anything you are looking for (restaurants, shops, currency exchange offices...etc) as well as Metro & Tram stations are near. Internal rules prohibit taking "hot" food into the rooms but not much of an inconvenience since they offer as alternative a nice place to eat your food in and chill. Rooms are exactly what you see in pictures. The staff is awesome, helpful and understanding.

Stayed their for 15 days in September Paid about 19$ without breakfast for 4 bed room location is very close to istiklal street and about 6 to 8 min walk to metro station Rooms are cleans but they don't change sheets everyday if you aren't checking out 2. Bathrooms are good but all of the bathrooms have problem no room is safe upper floor rooms are smelly 3. Staff is very cooperative 4. Hostel have some weird rules no food inside their breakfast is very expensive tea coffee is expensive they don't give soap shampoo in bathrooms so you end up paying about 23 24$ for a bed that is expensive 5. I stayed because hostel is new it was closer to some places I had to visit and they have 2 large spaces to hangout work whatever.

My friend and I had a great time at the hostel! The room was nice, and very clean; the hostel is located very near to the city center and you can get to the public transport (bus, metro, tramway) easily. The staff is very professional and helped us in several ways.

Internet was being disconnected few times and staff didn’t know why and when it will be fixed. We were in room for two and there were two beds which were constantly moving apart during the night. In last day I didn’t receive fresh towels There was weird smell in bathroom (not good) Lights in room are very unattractive Windows are not isolated properly You’d better found another hotel

We thought the price we paid for a hostel was too much for this Hostel/Hotel. The room was very worn, the bathroom smelled very bad our whole stay and the receptionist was asleep when we tried to check out at 6:40 am. We tried to wake him up for several minutes until he finally woke up. The location is the hotel/hostel was good and the rooftop was beautiful

Terrible overpriced breakfast covered in flies, horrible rancid sewer gas smell filling the rooms coming from the bathrooms, creaky noisy dormroom beds. Useless wifi. Wouldn't recommend. Looks better in the photos. Shame they haven't invented smell-o-vision. Guy on the front desk actually acted surprised that I wasn't a repeat customer, said they get a lot of people returning. I DOUBT IT.

The hostel was clean, they replace the sheets and towels daily. It has a modern look and comfortable common areas. The location is great if you want to go visit taksim and be close to the old city as well. The staff was friendly and helpful, whenever we had a problem they would fix it immediately and they offered good advice.

What really makes this hostel stand out is its location. Galata Tower, metro and bus stations are all in walking distance but sitting right next to a popular bar/pub/restaurant area can also mean noises 24/7. Can't comment on their breakfast because I never had one; heard it's 100 TRY. There are tons of mom-and-pop börek (pastry) and kahvaltı (breakfast) shops scattered throughout the city, try them first unless hungover and desperate for food. Stayed in a 4 bed female dorm and the room was OK, looked a little different from the photos but acceptable. Beds were in good condition and power sockets worked just fine. Unfortunately both toilet and shower in the room smelled throughout the day so windows had to be open even at night. Shower also seemed to have drainage issues but never fixed during my stay. Shared communal areas had decent number of seats and tables. Wifi worked fine, a little slow but was able to have several Zoom calls at the lounges with minimal issues. Staff were generally helpful and caring but they can't seem to do much when the guests complain of noise/smell/strangers sleeping in their beds/bedbugs etc.. Overall it was an OK stay, but hard to think this will be my first choice next time I visit Istanbul.

The room reeked of sewage. An employee walked into my private room and asked me if I'd like my room cleaned 45 minutes after I checked in. The common room is like an office and not conducive to partying whatsoever. The wifi is extremely bad and for some reason they use a /24 subnet instead of /16 so sometimes you can't connect due to lack of IPs. Plus, you have to sign into their weird portal each time you use their network. The location is great though and everything was pretty clean for the most part.

The hostel is clean, the beds seemed new and only 4 person to a mixed dorm. The location is pretty central with about a 10 min walk to the restaurants and bars. 20-25 min walk to historical monuments etc. The room though smells like raw sewage, it’s very nauseating and apparently a building wide problem. The internet is awful and cuts out 20x a day. At night there is not much air circulation in the room even with the windows open so if that sewage smell pops up then you’re stuck with it all night. I don’t know what to say. It’s cheap but I probably would not stay here again.

I enjoyed my stay here - booked three nights in a private double room on 6th floor. This is a more sophisticated hostel. It’s special because it blends both ambience and value in one. I’d prefer of the two tiny sinks where inside the bath but it oddly worked pretty well with the huge half wall mirror reflecting the mid rise view outside. The beds comfort level was a 7 out of 10 - passing but not by a lot. Nothing luxurious by any means, but there’s definitely enough to enjoy. Good quality for the price (I paid about $60 a night). Well designed, open concept shared spaces - great for sitting and having a snack or working remotely; thoughtfully designed rooms with a desk space to sit at (though I wouldn’t sit in a wooden chair longer than 30 mins), gaze outside, or get ready for the day. Quiet, except for the noise of traffic from the street below. But it’s not loud music or vibrating walls - think soothing background, cityscape sounds. Recently renovated and about a less than a ten minute walk to istiklal street where you can get Turkish delight until 3 am in the morning, sit at an alley cafe, drink tea or cocktails or feast on mussels (try the original and spicy flavors.

It's a new place so everything is super tidy and beautiful. It's also designed really well, with extra spaces to put your clothes and cosmetics next to the sink, in general well thought and functional. People working at the reception are very nice and helpful, made me smile couple of times. To sum up, it feels really safe and comfortable, especially in comparison to other similarily priced hostels.

My stay here was stress free and enjoyable. The hotel, rooms and beds were all clean and tidy which just makes the experience so much better. The staff were very respectful and kind. When we asked where the nearest mosques were and where to do suhoor the receptionist gave us many suggestions. Would stay here again. One thing to improve on would be to add more ventilation to the bathroom or add a fragrance. Other than that the hotel was just amazing and stress free. Would recommend to anyone.

It's called hostel but its not... You can see three common area and threse areas are not productive for having fun and getting social. But otherwise its cleaner then other hostels in Istanbul, and expensive... If you are looking for quiet and good located place this place can be good. And about the breakfast its really nice but not worth with that price.

It should definitely not be preferred!!! They ruined my money! Even though I made a reservation 1 week in advance and paid my money, they said that they canceled my reservation "because I arrived one day late" and could not give me my money. The short-haired woman waiting at the reception desk speaks rudely and indifferently in her terrible English. I feel like I've been scammed. There are hundreds of cheaper and higher quality hotels in Istanbul. Never choose!!!

  • 3/5 Yannis P. 5 months ago on Google
I was falsely accused of "sitting" on the wrong bed because the receptionist assumed that I had left my jacket on there (I had been outside with my jacket the entire time). I was threatened that I would have to pay a fine but was instead moved to the "dirty" bed I supposedly sat on (I had not, but still slept in the bed someone else was sitting on). Despite the clear unprofessionalism in handling such cases, the room was ok, the wifi was indeed not the most stable even as of October 2023, overall clean, despite my roommates smoking in the room (yet I was the one invading the hostel's cleanliness). Hospitality goes a long way, allowing someone to simply sleep in your premises, does not make you hospitable.

On a scale from 1-10 , this place is 11 . Everything is good , clean and extremely well put. The staff are awesome , the location is very central and few minutes from the main attractions in the city and close to all main transportation lines. The bunker beds are great , the facilities are top notch , the staff speaks perfect english and they were offering help whenever they had the chance Highly recommended and definitely a true bang for buck!!

I stayed at TCH Galata for a month and was very happy. The bedding was clean, the bed was comfortable, the rooftop was so beautiful and the staff was very friendly. On the 16th of Aug, I almost got my phone stolen across the street from this hostel. Everyone around me helped, the thief was caught right away and I got my phone back. At that time, the hostel manager and staff rushed right out to help interpret with the police and offered me transportation to the police station. It would have been nice if this unfortunate incident hadn't happened, but it was fortunate that it happened in front of this hostel. I sincerely thank everyone who helped me. For reference, I had had the experience of staying at TCH Barcelona, Lisbon and Porto branch, so I chose this place without hesitation and it was the right choice. Thanks all and enjoy Istanbul. PLEASE enjoy TCH!

Room had a leak, smelt musty, wifi didn't work, made us pay for a breakfast when we didn't eat here. We went down to check out the breakfast but almost all the food was gone and no one replenish it even with workers around. Stayed at other Central Houses with much better experiences, so very disappointing.

The bottom line, DO NOT BOOK/STAY BY ANY MEANS. At even cheaper price you can stay at much much better places in istanbul. Check the negative reviews, the details listed in these reviews by guests who stayed there are true. We will never consider any other city of this chain after this one.

I think 5 star isn't enough for this place as a hostel. They make you feel like you are in a five star hotel. The staff is most friendly and helpful. The place is real clean and safe.

I would not recommend staying here. The rooms look nice in photos but they were smelly. Horrible smells from the bathroom. Beds in dorm rooms are hard, and there is NO AC. They say they have ac when booking on hostelworld, but that is a lie. It was so hot at night (this is in early april, too). I got horrible sleep. It's more like a hotel than a hostel. It does have a nice work space, common area. Staff is just okay. Was asked to wait for 10 minutes when I arrived to check in. The pro would be a nice location close to restaurants, just a short walk away. They also cleaned the rooms lightly every day, which was nice!

It was the best experience I have had so far in a hostel. Loved the employees! <3 The hostel really shows what it means to have a hostel culture. Private areas in the room and bed were more than great, breakfasts are enough to get full. No problem with the room cards, also you can even get a lock for all your stuff if you do not want them laying around. I highly recommend it!

Good experience and beautiful double room! We stayed for 3 nights. People are very nice, helpful, polite and available for any problems. The hotel is 5 minutes walk from the metro Shishane and in a calm zone, near Galata tower. Then, 30 minutes walking across the bridge (if you don’t want to take the metro) and you are in the Asian part of the city. We enjoyed also the atmosphere of the common space at the entrance, very quite and relaxing. I suggest also to see the sunset from the rooftop: enjoy the view and the music!! Wi-fi very good Both in the room (sixth floor) and in common area!

Nice rooms, a good location and everything is cleaned well. Went here with school for 4 nights and it is really good. It is not the best of the best but this is definitely good. 2 minutes walk to a busy shopping street so I really can't complain.

This hostel located at heart of center of Istanbul. You can reach many places by foot very near a bus station which you can take buses to old town. Also I want to thank to the staff for their help and made us feel with friends.

I stayed at this hostel, and unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing. The A.C never worked properly, and when we asked the staff for help, they claimed the room was too big for the A.C, despite having 6 beds and only 5 people in it. The wifi was also constantly down, and every time we inquired, they would promise to call a technician, but the issue was never resolved. To make matters worse, one day, the water stopped working while some of us were still in the shower. We had no choice but to go out and buy water from the market ourselves. The management's response to all these issues was poor, as they were skilled at arguing rather than addressing our concerns. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this hostel due to the recurring issues with A.C and wifi, as well as the unreliable water supply and unhelpful management.

Stayed here during the month of July and have nothing bad to say about the hotel You could walk to Galata and Taksim in 10 minutes The staff were nice and helpful and are there all the time The internet in the rooms could be bad at times but down in the lounge it worked well

This is a challenging review. There was much I loved and a few things I did not. It is a great place for the right traveler. What I loved: 1. The location is a few hundred feet (steep) from Galata's main shopping street: Cafes, restaurants, shops. It is across the street from the Soho House and the Pera Hotel. 2. The price per night is great. And at this price point and location it is difficult to argue. 3. The staff is relaxed but really helpful. Loved it. 4. The generous common area and luggage storage were helpful bonuses. Now about the mixed feedback: I stayed 4 nights. 2 nights in a single. 2 nights in a room with 4 beds that I booked for myself. The single was great. Maybe a bit noisy as its window did go to the front. Very clean. I slept well. The private bathroom of the four bed room smelled after sulfur / bad eggs after a while. It was okay but not great. Finally the internet was very flaky and I certainly wasted some mobile data while staying here. I am confident the management will solve this issue soonish - this isn't really magic in these days, is it?

If you here to read reviews than read and learn from it and don't book this worse hotel ever again . Very tight policies. Even wanted us to rent towels. Breakfast is rubbish not worth 25 euros they asked for. WiFi does not work .ac is too small for the room so my kids were so hot all night. Rooms are tight.if I knew I will face these issues I would never book this hotel. Never ever again

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is very clean. And for me the common space was the best part of the hotel, a cozy minimalistic place where you can eat, work, play some games provided by the hotel… . Internet was fast and working all the time. It’s truly a great hotel.
