📌Khaju Bridge is one of the most famous bridges in Iran. It is a thorough sample of Persian architecture. 📌This bridge was built in order of Shah Abbas II, the Persian Safavid King, in 1650. 📌Besides functioning as a bridge and a weir, it also functions as a building and a place for public meetings. 📌This bridge is decorated with artistic tilework and fabulous paintings. Today original paintings and beautiful tile work are available on the bridge. 📌The amazing arches inside the bridge catch everyone’s attention right at first sight, especially at nights when they are decorated with luminous lights. 📌It is one of the true examples of Persian architecture and shows the Safavid cultural influence in Iran. 📸 . . . Great place to be especially in the evening or at night. Unfortunately in the summer there's no water running under the bridge. There are parks around the river banks and if you have some time to waste, you can just walk from one bridge to the other.

The Khaju Bridge is one of the historical bridges on the Zayanderud, the largest river of the Iranian Plateau, in Isfahan, Iran. Serving as both a bridge and a weir, it links the Khaju quarter on the north bank with the Zoroastrian quarter across the Zayanderud. The bridge served a primary function as a building and a place for public meetings in the past, It has been described as the city's finest bridge. The Khaju Bridge was built around 1650, under the reign of Abbas II, the seventh Safavid Shah of Iran, on the foundations of an older bridge. The existing inscriptions suggest that the bridge was repaired in 1873. It was definitely a nice site with a unique architecture for a bridge.

The Khaju Bridge is a historical bridge on the Zayanderud River, located in Isfahan, Iran. The bridge was built in the 17th century by the Persian Safavid king, Shah Abbas II, and it has since become one of the city's most famous landmarks. The bridge is renowned for its beautiful architecture, featuring a series of arches and pavilions that stretch over two levels. The lower level of the bridge was designed for the passage of water, while the upper level was created for pedestrians, with seating areas and pavilions for recreation. One of the unique features of the Khaju Bridge is its iconic stained glass windows, which reflect the light beautifully and create stunning patterns on the water below. The bridge also features a number of inscriptions and poems written in Persian calligraphy. Today, the Khaju Bridge is a popular tourist destination and a symbol of the rich cultural history of Isfahan. It provides visitors with a unique blend of Persian architecture, stunning views of the Zayanderud River, and a tranquil atmosphere that makes it a must-visit destination for anyone visiting Isfahan.

Beautiful! Go there during the evenings to relax and visit locals. Try both sides and both levels of the bridge. Each of them have a different feeling. Must visit in Isfahan! It's really authentic during the summer nights when lots of people gather and sing together.

The jewellery in the Zayanderood river. Both splendid in daytime and night. Highly recommended for visiting at night where singers are singing live on the bottom of the bridge's nests.

Another amazing historical bridge in the city of Isfahan. It helped to have my Iranian partner and his family with me, to explain the history and the various spaces at the bridge. We visited on a weekday evening - it was decently busy. I recommend walking under the bridge in the evening as you will hear amazing singers taking advantage of the acoustics in the space.

(Translated by Google) Masterpiece of Safavid architecture; Isfahan Khajoo Bridge is one of the most famous historical monuments in Isfahan. This bridge was built in 1060 AH on the river full of water in the historical city of Isfahan called Zayandehrud. In ancient times, Khajoo Bridge was a crossing point for pedestrians and carriages. This bridge is one of the most beautiful historical monuments in Iran during the Safavid rule and was built on the Zayandeh River in Isfahan by the order of Shah Abbas II. Other names of Khajoo Bridge are: Shah Bridge, Babarkanuddin, Hassan Abad, Shahi and Shiraz and in the eastern part of Bridge 33, which is one of the other historical monuments of Isfahan, has been built. The reason for naming this bridge is being located in the neighborhood. Khajoo is from Isfahan. It should also be noted that Khajoo is a distortion of the word Khajeh, which is due to respect for the Khajehs of the Safavid era. Khajoo Bridge is built at the end of Kamal Ismail Street in Isfahan. According to research by historians, the purpose of Shah Abbas II in building this bridge was to connect Khajoo neighborhood with Takht-e-Foolad and Shiraz Road. However, the Shah's family had a unique moment in a building in the middle of the bridge, which was considered a temporary residence. In the eastern and western part of the middle of the bridge, we see a building decorated with paintings, and this was a place to watch swimming and boating competitions. The style of architecture, tiling and painting of the Khajo Bridge is a world masterpiece in its own right that attracts the eyes of all viewers. Khajoo bridge is 133 meters wide and 12 meters wide. Khajoo Bridge is adjacent to Zayandeh River by stairs on one side. The number of these stairs is 11 and by sitting on these stairs, people are provided with a refreshing atmosphere. This bridge has 24 openings and has two stone lion statues on its eastern side. According to scholars, these two lions made during the Safavid rule were a sign of Bakhtiari troops in Isfahan. In the past, Khajoo Bridge was also considered a dam. According to Professor Opham Pope, one of the greatest American Iranologists who has done a lot of valuable research on the history and art of Iran, in the construction of the Khajou Bridge, according to foreigners who have visited it; There is a rhythm of honor, dignity, the happiest tools and consistency, and features of entertainment and recreation! Is. This control of water occurred by opening and closing the valve for which it was made. When the gates of the dam were closed, the water behind the dam was higher and as a result, this water could be used to irrigate gardens and fields. Khajoo Bridge depends on the amount of water that reaches them, and as a result, the more water it reaches, the stronger the foundations will be. Khajoo Bridge was registered as a national monument of Iran on January 6, 1961. According to Professor Jalaluddin Homayi in the book of Takht-e-Foolad encyclopedia, there are 12 stone lions in Isfahan. These lions are located in the following places: Darb-e-Kushk, Abakhshan, Darb-e-Imam, Imamzadeh Ahmad, Golestaneh, Imamzadeh Hamzeh, Khajeh Ali Shah, Imamzadeh Ismail, Toghchi and Takht-e-Foolad. The stone lions built in Khajoo Bridge have a special architecture. And the eyes of these lions are polished in a way that reflects the lights of the bridge and the moonlight.

It is one of the historical places of Isfahan, which is very beautiful and must be visited by every tourist. Spending time in this place is very pleasant and relaxing. Of course, part of its beauty is related to Zayandeh Rood. I hope that the river will always be full of water so that there will be vitality in the city.

(Translated by Google) This bridge is also called Shah Bridge, Baba Rokn al-Din Bridge (the way to the monastery and tomb of Baba Rokn al-Din and Takht-e-Foolad) and Hasnabig Bridge (the name of the previous bridge that was destroyed during the reign of Shah Abbas and this bridge was built in its place). Shah Abbas II is a Safavid, who was built in 1060 AH. In the middle of Khajoo Bridge, a special building, known as Biglerbegi, was built, which was created for the temporary residence of the Safavid Shah and his family and still exists, and its arches are beautifully decorated with paintings. In fact, Khajoo Bridge is built for architecture. And its tiled decorations are more famous than other bridges of Zayandehrud. The bridge is 133 meters long and 12 meters wide. This bridge has been called by other names, but it is known as Khajoo Bridge due to its location in Khajoo neighborhood. The method of restoration of this bridge has been criticized, because the officials of the Islamic Republic in 2009 damaged the originality of this original Iranian building by violating the principle of preserving the originality and authenticity of the design and material of the work and replacing the old stones of the stairs with new stones. The bridge has 24 spans made of carefully carved cubes and is blocked in the middle by wooden dams to block the river. Khajoo is one of the bridges that has been involved in regulating the flow of water in the river due to the presence of a gate or valve under its arches. When the dam gates were closed, the rising water level behind the bridge facilitated the irrigation of many gardens along the upstream of the bridge.

Amazing Feature Besides functioning as a bridge and a weir, it also functions as a building and a place for public meetings. This bridge is decorated with artistic tilework and fabulous paintings. There is a pavilion in the center of the structure that Shah Abbas (King Abbas) has once sat on and admired the view. Although, the only remnant of the king’s chair is a stone seat

Beautiful multifunctional bridge. This amazing complex structure over the Zayandeh-rud in Esfahan, built by Shah Abbas II, served both as bridge and dam, planned also for enjoyment. It is a place for tarrying as much as transit. The bridges of Esfahan combined with dams for much needed irrigation, were essential and have bold design and first-class constructional techniques. Take your time and enjoy your visit.

A beautiful bridge of historic value and artistic look. So bad that the river has dried up. The arches give a special view.In my opinion it should be visited at night as lights give a very impressive look . The road leading to it is also beautiful. We parked on the roadside. There are few Cafe on roadside that sell hot and cold drinks and fast food as well. For tourist 1 hour is enough to see around and take some good snaps. It's open 24 hours so it can be fixed in at any plan easily.

When traveling to Isfahan, one of the first places to visit is the Khajoo Bridge. In addition to its historical value, the bridge is also a promenade. One of the attractions and attractions of tourists in this place is sitting on the steps of the bridge and listening to the sound of the roaring water that passes through it. Be sure to try this. It is very enjoyable. The bridge is designed in two floors and tourists can cross or under it and go to the other side of Zayandehrud River. Usually, the lower floor of this bridge is the gathering place of native singers of Isfahan. It is interesting to know that the people of Isfahan are known for their artistry and humor.

beautiful The Khaju Bridge was built around 1650, under the reign of Abbas II, the seventh Safavid king (shah) of Iran, on the foundations of an older bridge. The existing inscriptions suggest that the bridge was repaired in 1873. There is a pavilion located in the center of the structure, inside which Abbas II would have once sat, admiring the view. Today, remnants of a stone seat are all that is left of the king's chair. In the words of Arthur Pope and Jean Chardin, Khaju is "the culminating monument of Persian bridge architecture and one of the most interesting bridges extant ... where the whole has rhythm and dignity and combines in the happiest consistency, utility, beauty, and recreation." The poets of Isfahan wrote beautiful poems on the Khajoo bridge and in these poems they praised its beauty. Among these poems is the long poem by Saeb Tabrizi which describes one of the days of celebration and illumination next to this bridge. According to historians and scholars who have studied the Safavid dynasty, Shah Abbas II's goal in building the Khajoo Bridge was to connect the two districts of Khajoo and the Hassanabad Gate with Takht-e Folad and Shiraz Road. Tourists who came to Isfahan at different times praised the beauty of the Khajoo Bridge and considered it one of the eternal masterpieces of Iranian and Islamic architecture.

(Translated by Google) One must not miss the beautiful Khaju Bridge (Khaju Pol). Khaju Pol is named after a famous Iranian poet who lived in the 17th century. The bridge, which is 132 meters long, also serves as a dam and was built around 1650. It differs from the other bridges in Esfahan in that it consists of two levels. On the lower level you can sit in the shade or on the steps that lead down to the water. Khaju Pol is the most beautiful of all Esfahan's bridges and a lot of people always gather here. I sat down under one of the 23 arches and enjoyed the cool breeze that blew in under the bridge.

I enjoy spending my time at Khaju Bridge, and if you happen to be in the area in the afternoon, I highly recommend treating yourself to saffron ice cream from the shop on Khaju Street. It's the perfect way to savor a beautiful sunset and soak in the wonderful atmosphere.

The bridge has 24 spans made of carefully carved cubes and is blocked in the middle by wooden dams to block the river. Khajoo is one of the bridges that has been involved in regulating the flow of water in the river due to the presence of a gate or valve under its arches. When the dam gates were closed, the water level at the back of the bridge rose, making it possible to create a lake behind the bridge. The construction of this dam and lake was to be a view of the buildings and gardens located in that place, and while sitting in those buildings and gardens, they enjoyed the view of the lake that was created by closing the dam.

The Khaju Bridge in Isfahan is one of the most unique and mysterious bridges in the world. Built in the 17th century, it is known for its intricate design and architectural beauty. However, what makes this bridge truly fascinating are the secrets hidden within its walls. One of the most intriguing features of the Khaju Bridge is its ability to transmit sound through its low ceilings. This was intentional, as it allowed for private conversations to take place without being overheard by others. Today, visitors can still hear echoes of songs and music that were once performed on the bridge. Speaking of music, another fascinating aspect of the Khaju Bridge is its history as a venue for musical performances. During the Safavid era, musicians would gather on the bridge to sing and play instruments for royalty and commoners alike. Even today, local musicians continue to perform on the bridge during special occasions. Overall, the Khaju Bridge is a testament to Iran's rich cultural heritage and architectural prowess. Its secrets continue to captivate visitors from around the world, making it a must-see destination for anyone visiting Isfahan.

(Translated by Google) Khajoo Bridge is currently one of the most attractive places in Isfahan province because good water has been flowing in it for a long time and the life and wildlife around it are completely dynamic and alive! The water level is very high and even children are swimming. At night, if you go to this bridge, you can hear the singing of loud Isfahanis. Two beautiful lions by the bridge is another attraction! It is said that if Nova is dark, by looking over the first lion, the ears of the other lion will sparkle because of the stone!
