It’s my first time staying at Victoria Garden Hotel. I did mentioned I’m here for anniversary however there are neither room decor nor a ‘happy anniversary’ for our arrival. Quite disappointed as we thought this is a very nice hotel to celebrate our anniversary. Just like to say if hotel side unable to provide extra service (I was willing to pay) for special occasion you may email to me to clarify about this and I can book somewhere else. Thus, the receptionist also lack of training and is bit rude the way she approached us with ‘yes?’ when we need assistance. The cleanliness should be improve as I found several stains on bed sheet and floor is sticky. Complement for the housekeeper who helps us to opened the door when my key is not functioning even after I already validate at the front desk.

Rarely you find a hotel with such thought even in the smallest detail. They must have spent a lot of effort to make everything perfect. The interior and furniture and even toiletries they have chosen are with great thought that you never find in many other hotel. Recommended for those who want to travel to Penang for vacation.

One of the worst hotel you should even consider to stay in Penang. You are not allowed to early checkin before 3pm exactly. As I told lobby i have urgent meeting to attend by 3pm and I not mind to pay more or tomorrow checkout earlier, but no. U just had to line up with everyone else more than 10 ppl in row, to be honest every other hotel knew u don't ask client to all must checkin by 3pm! U will congested the line and u only got one counter and one worker doing all stuff. Everyone here waiting and waiting and waiting. I went to so much hotel in Malaysia. This is most worst of all when come to service. Too bad I can't give minus star. I hope I could report this hotel.

Terrible hotel experience EVER. No early check in allowed, so huge crowd queueing at 3pm. Only one receptionist. Only 1 card is given. Saying there's limited card. No buffet breakfast as listed. I believe even the cheaper hotel can get a better service. No more next time!

I was rather pleased with my stay here as this is a hotel that had a good balance of price, comfort, location, and quality, including cleanliness The air-conditioning was a good system, sufficiently strong for the hot and muggy Penang weather. The bathroom and rooms used normal soaps and the bed was nice and firm. It is located in Georgetown but not along noisy pub areas. Very quiet.

The room is clean but small but can't complain much of the room size. Parking is convenient, it's at the back , a separate building. If you're checking in, leave your bags at the front lobby and then go park. If not you need to drag your bags to the front as you can't access the back door to hotel lobby as you'll need a room key card The thing I don't like it's the soap, it's poor quality. Hand soap so difficult to get it to be soapy. Bath gel little better. If you are seafood, they can't get the smell out. They buy cheapest soap. Sad. Water in the shower not easy to drain out and hot water takes a long while up come around. By then your shower area is flooded Check in takes a long while. Convince S Mart next door

Checking in took forever. Almost an hour. Rooms were not ready and system had glitch. Us and the party ahead of us waited an hour to be checked in. But worse part is that none of the staff had bothered to update or explain what happened. There were 3 staff at the counter, not one explained or offered to check in others. Terrible customer service. Once settled, rooms were clean and decent. However, early this morning was rudely awakened by the fire alarm. Everyone vacated their rooms at 7am on a rainy morning. Nobody explained anything, no firemen came either. Suspect it was triggered by someone smoking or a glitch in their system. Hotel management need to learn to explain to guests if there's any issues not just leave everyone hanging.

Would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to explore Georgetown. It is easily accessible to major attractions in Georgetown and is walkable to the clan Jetties, and CAT bus stops. Hotel rooms are quite spacious, even the bathroom (ours did not have a bathtub), but I especially loved the shower pressure! The typical amenities are included such as coffee, tea, toiletries and room slippers. As for the front desk, they were mostly very young staff. Some were helpful and some were quite dismissive but overall OK-level of service for this price.

Nice rooms which appear recently renovated. Air cond worked well in the 34 deg heat. Good toiletries. Entrance and lobby area very nice. Central location but away from noisy streets. Hotel did not have a pool or Cafe or bar. Perhaps not needed given how central it was! Walkable from ferry terminal. Decent room at a decent price. Nothing really to complain about except the safe was not working.

The hotel location was very convenient for walking around old George Town - to the clan jetties, street arts, etc. Breakfast was good although my husband wished there was chicken congee again the next day. Room was very clean and bed was comfortable. Big plus is that the air vent did not blow strongly over the bed. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Bed is comfortable. However, was given a room without any view ( facing another building wall), would book for a better view room if it stated what view it is when doing the booking ( I booked via the official website). Would compliment the all staffs over the Kin Kao Restaurant during breakfast time, friendly and good service . Breakfast food variety is not much but the waffle tastes good. Location is good but a lot of teens riding electric bike at night.

They let you provide your planned arrival time on the website upon room booking, but when we reached there, the room was not ready yet. The front desk receptionist there could use better hospitality training for interacting with guests. One of the receptionists spoke so softly and without precise information, I did not understand if he meant we needed to wait until 3pm for check in or just 3 more minutes.

Loved this hotel. The room is spacious and super clean. The bed is large and comfy! And I liked the window from the bathroom, lots of natural light. The hotel feels like a 5 star from the moment you walk in. Location was good with easy access to things around. Breakfast, I'd pass and eat outside. There was a variety, but nothing to get excited about, and coffee was SUPER weak. Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel. Descent location and convenient if you plan to use the buses!

I had an appalling experience with the hotel. 1. they did not inform that they did not offer breakfast buffet like advertised. Instead they sent plastic packed food like how you would receive during quarantine. And I specifically choose hotels that would offer breakfast as I'm travelling for work. 2. I had a problem with the safebox which, they did not have staff available to fix it immediately and only would be available the day after at 9am, which I had made known that I have to rush out for a meeting, therefore they would need to be on time. but the maintenance guy did not show up and there was no contingency plan to fix it. The guy who was suppose to attend to the matter was having his coffee break at the earliest available time that management said he will be. 3. I found a dirty toothbrush placed on my toilet counter when I got back to my room on the second night. It looked like it was used to clean feces and intentionally place on the toilet counter.

room nice with clean and everything looks new. unfortunately I can't give 5star because the car park area, it cause my car scratches with super narrow corner turn for the ticket to out from the car park. it's not normal design for normal size car to take the turn. I never experience that kind of narrow corner turn in the car park bay. it spoiled all my mood with one more night stay and I need to park the car further to the hotel.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Victoria Garden Hotel in George Town, and I must say, it exceeded my expectations. One of the standout features of this hotel is its excellent location. Situated in the heart of George Town, it offers easy access to many local attractions and famous restaurants, which are conveniently within walking distance. One of the key amenities that stood out to me was the multi-level car park. Finding parking in busy areas can often be a hassle, but Victoria Garden Hotel provides a solution with its spacious and well-maintained car park. This feature definitely adds convenience and peace of mind for guests who prefer to travel by car. Upon entering the hotel, I was immediately impressed by its cleanliness. The lobby area was well-maintained, and the staff were attentive and welcoming. Throughout my stay, I found the hotel to be spotless, indicating a high level of cleanliness and attention to detail. Another aspect that contributed to the overall pleasant experience was the quiet atmosphere. Despite being located in a bustling area, Victoria Garden Hotel managed to provide a peaceful and tranquil environment. This is particularly noteworthy for those seeking a peaceful retreat after a long day of exploring George Town. In terms of accessibility, the hotel scores high marks. It is easy to reach, whether you're arriving by car or public transportation. The central location ensures that popular tourist spots and amenities are easily reachable, allowing guests to make the most of their time in George Town without any hassle. All in all, I highly recommend Victoria Garden Hotel for anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient stay in George Town. Its great location, multi-level car park, cleanliness, quiet atmosphere, and proximity to famous local restaurants make it an excellent choice for both leisure and business travelers.

Nice hotel great staff clean and tidy. Thou I got an accessible room so it was large and the only issue was the shower didn’t have a screen. The bath mat got a drenching. Handy to transport buses and the Feri. Easy walk to Little India and the Street Art.

Stayed here for 2 nights at one of the room with balcony. Feels like staying at a 4 stars hotel (room wise) even though it is labelled as a 3 stars hotel. Room is spacious and clean. Location is excellent as most of the sights in Georgetown is within 15 mins by walking.

The hotel was overbooked when we arrived and had to wait couple hours just to get our rooms, but ended up giving one room to a different person because he was waiting for a long time and couldnt get a room despite had already booked in prior. Then there was no clear instructions on the 'free parking' validation for people that stayed at the hotel and the manager did not want to take responsibility for it. and the next day the hotel still have overbooking issues which indicates that they had have this issue before but have no ways of fixing it or even care for it.

Nice hotel located in a quiet street. The hotel has reserved parking lots in the carpark behind of it, which is free that you can claim the ticket from the frontdesk. At first, after reading the Google review, I thought the check in process would take a long time, but it was settled in 15 mins, which is considered fast. The room is clean and cozy, same as advertised. I like the street view from the hotel and have a great stay here. The only issue was the breakfast...the food is terrible, it was totally cold, should at least heat up the food before they serve...

WORST NIGHTMARE ever! Please think thoroughly before you proceed with a booking with them! The housekeeper left my room door opened WIDELY while I was out as shown in the 1st picture (for at least 5 hours)! Talked to the housekeeper PIC, she said she confirmed nobody entered our room WITHOUT even checking CCTV. General manager gave us a call and offered upgrade of my room but WHY DO I HAVE TO ACCEPT YOUR OFFER? I DON’T TRUST your hotel management anymore! The trust is damaged by you yourself, we requested for a full refund but they didn’t even bother to consider this solution and said our booking was made via Agoda, we have to deal with Agoda ourselves. The general manager was trying to push all the responsibilities to Agoda and even mentioned it would be a long process to request for a refund. I have 3 laptops and 1 diamond ring in the room, thank god everything was still there. How can I trust you again? We were forced to continued our stay there (no upgrade) because no refund was made and we had a very tight schedule, it’s cumbersome for us to book another hotel in such a short time and move out. Besides, called receptionist to arrange a housekeeper immediately to check out toilet, as the shower area was flooded. However, we waited for almost 30 mins, nobody came and we decided to go out without waiting for them anymore. Picture 1 : room door was widely open and there’s still some dust on the floor. Picture 2 : toilet issue

Not enough staff during the pandemic, took quite long to check in since there is only one receptionist doing her work. Room is quite nice, but there are some noises of the water pipe and the other travellers closing doors. Not soundproof, kinda. But still a good place to stay. Pricing is reasonable.

Room is good. Comfortable and clean. A 3 stars hotel but the comfort seems to be 4 stars! Location wise is also good. Quite near to the famous Chew Jetty and tourist attractions. There is also car park provided but the space is quite small to navigate for big, large size vehicles. But that is expected in Penang. Service - need improvement. The staffs in the reception weren’t friendly during my check in and one of them was coughing without wearing a mask. Something they need to work on!

Great location which you can walk to everywhere in the Georgetown center. Walkable to many cafes, beach street, little india and a lot more. This great location really helps a lot in saving time to look for carpark if you are driving. There’s a bar opposite the hotel with unplugged music at night. This hotel is located at a quite street. However due to the hotel outlook is so pretty, you will see many people taking photos outside the hotel. Didn’t have the breakfast here. I stayed for 2 nights and the restaurant in lobby is always closed. Perhaps I went at the wrong timing. Lobby is quite. The room is clean. Overall is great value. Recommend for those who would like to stay in town and wish to walk around.

The hard product is superb. The rooms are well designed, spacious, very well equipped, and clean. As others have noted, the bedding is comfortable, A/C is ample, and the shower pressure is wonderful. Sadly, the soft product needs serious work. For example, breakfast is put out at 7:30. If you come at 8:30, most everything that was initially hot will be cold. The staff are generally sweet, but act very confused most of the time. Simple questions provoke much conferring. Location is very convenient,

I stay 2 nights in this hotel. You can see “no smoking” signs at every corner, but in my room and corridor, always full of smoking smell. I complaint the problem to hotel’s staff, they change us to another room, but problem remains, I suffered for smoking smell both nights. The hotel have no method to check out which guest is smoking in the room, so don’t stay at this hotel if you really hate smoking. The hotel front desk always only 1 staff on duty, this is ridiculous! You have to queue and wait for long time at front desk when you need help. More ridiculous thing is, the front desk staff is “share” with the Victoria Inn at night, there is no front desk staff if they go to Victoria Inn. The hotel parking is confusing the guest. Most of the parking lot are put on reserved signboards. The hotel staff didn’t tell you which lot can park unless you ask them. Generally, the hotel is clean, breakfast also nice. But for me, it is not worth it.

The place is new, clean, strategically located, and the staffs are friendly. There is also a nice Boston Cafe right across, with 10 seconds walk. The minor set back was this : cleaning team was severely understaffed. In our 3 days 2 nights stay, despite putting up a request for clean up, there were no cleaning. We are aware that the hotel is busy and understaffed due to holiday seasons so it was alright. The counter staffs explained to us the situation patiently to which we are grateful for. Keep it up and

This hotel exceeds my expectation of a 3.5 star hotel! From the looks, it seems pretty new; the interior design in the hallway and room was spot on! Inside the room is small but clean, and modernly designed with hidden cupboard, and soft-closed sliding toilet door! Bedding is nice and comfy too! Location wise is just perfect too It is situated right in the heart of Georgetown city, but not at the bustling street, so it is nice to explore on foot for street arts and coffee/food. And there's a carpark building right behind the hotel with shaded walkway connected to the back of the hotel door, so no need to worry about rainy day. There's a bar right in front of the hotel though, but since we're facing the carpark, we didn't have any issue with it. Breakfast wise, there were limited options though but for a 3.5star hotel, its decent. Food taste is acceptable and they even have a waffle station with a few spread options. Overall, this has been a cozy stay, would definitely recommend to people who wants to spend their time exploring Georgetown.

This hotel is clean & walking distance to a lot of cafes. The nearest one is just opposite the hotel, Boston cafe & bar. The only drawback is the aircon is very cold. Default temperature is 21 C. We changed it to 23 C. But after a few hours, it changed back to 25. It was relatively quiet when we stayed there. But at times we could hear the sound of other rooms opening/closing the door. At night, we could also hear faint music from the bar opposite the hotel.

The hotel is pretty new, and comfortable to rest. But what a pity front desk staffs are lack of training and no passion to serve customers. When finishing check out, staff is not returning RM 100 deposit until I asked. Or if I forgot to ask, then I got no refund. Breakfast is not top, but above average.

Nice and clean hotel. The location is great. Breakfast was ok, but basically the same food every day and not much choice for people not used to asian food. Lady at breakfast noticed that our son was not eating anything and she offered to make him something which was very nice. Coffie is horrible. Please do something about it. Had bit problem with communication in English with employees.

Great location (within a few mins walk to many restaurants, street art, cafes, Little India etc..). The rooms are clean, modern, comfy and quiet. I'd highly recommend staying here. The only downside is communication with the reception - which can be confusing sometimes.

A good place to stay and explore Georgetown. Central located in a smaller not so busy street. Beside of the door slamming relatively silent. (For me) comfortable beds, but as usual in asia a little bit more in the hard side (but not filled with rocks as in other places). Had some issues with the aircon which took two nights to be properly fixed

Pros Clean, modern room Spacious bathroom - powerful / hot shower Large TV Tea / coffee making in room and fridge. Location is on a quiet street but close to the sights. Safe, Iron and hairdryer. Cons: Kitchen closed / set breakfast delivered at 8:30am each morning Room May be small for some people - it was fine for me though. Tip: to get your room cleaned - you have to flick a switch near the door (in your room) it says “clean room”.

very beautifully hotel. we booked without actually looking at the photos. because it was a last minute trip. the parking is abundant at the back of the hotel. can enter on the right of the hotel entrance. it is in front of a coffee shop - boston. the street is not busy at all despite that all the other roads nearby are packed with cars. so we mostly travelled via grab or walk. the padang kota is only 3 mins via grab. also you can rent a scooter few blocks from this hotel. the frontdesk staff is very helpful and friendly. really appreciates that. very beautiful hotel. we booked the premium twin room. spacious and clean. and a spacious balcony. love this hotel

3 stars hotel but have a feel of 4 stars. Services from the front desk was good. Proper explanation and smooth check in. Room: new and clean, comfortable. Impress with the design& furniture where its space saving, and room appear more spacious. Parking: ample of parking, multistories . Breakfast: 2 sets option. Simple local food. Brought to room. Its in disposable containers. For us its fine as can have it anytime. Food near by : might need grab or walking for short distance to nearby cafe or restaurant.

Comfortable rooms and friendly efficient staff makes for a great experience. The breakfast buffet has not reopened since Covid lockdown but you can get roti canai in the arcade across the road. Location is perfect for access to all Georgetown has to offer either walking or catching the free bus or the ferry to Butterworth.

One and only hotel which dissallow customer to late check out(30mins which i said willing to pay for amount of money) or extend. Rude,no manners and not friendly receptionist (Guy). Call twice and slow answer call, answer with bad manners. I wish to request for late check out or extend for another nights,he told cant and no more rooms( Different type rooms available). He told fully book(weekdays, low season and not holidays which doesn't make sense) none room available. No provide me any solution. Another polite lady call back and told me there are other types of room available,i reject as not happy with that staff attitude.During check out never apologize and argue loudly with me. Worst receptionist ever meet as a frequent traveller around the world. Spoil my good day. Wont back again even it is free. Check in date: 23/9/2022 Check out date: 24/9/2022 Time: Approve 12.30pm From: ROOM 305 & 306

Great experience on our stay. Beautiful Victoria architectural exterior. Modern interior and minimalist design. Rooms are new and clean. Located in a central location and many of eateries. Car park available in multi-storey parking. Recommended!

5 star hotel for 3 star budget, very nice and large room with variety of breakfast. Locate in peaceful part of Georgetown but convenient with nearby transportation, cafe and foodcourt. Forgot a ring and come to get back in a month after. Highly appreciated and recommended.
