This is not a four star hotel. It barely scrape one star. Dirty, poor service, worn down, rude staff. Checked into room at 4:30, no towels. 3 calls to house keeping and 1 1/2 hours didn't bring any towels. I had to walk down to the reception. Absolutely ridiculous. Edit on second day: Was out with family all day and returned to hotel around 5pm. The room had NOT been cleaned but I ran into the room service staff and they said they would do it right away. At 6:20 the rooftop bar got to noisy it was unbearable, so I thought the room would be ready. No such lock - nothing had been done. Once again I had to go down to the reception and I essentially told them I would go out for a while but after I returned I expected a clean room and I would post photos of any issues I came across. Around 7:30 returning to the room it had been "cleaned" but well - attached photos show the state of the room. Blood stains on the bed sheets (neatly tugged in under the bed so they were not visible. Grimes of dust in all corners. Mould in the bathroom. At this time I noticed the Hotel Manager had responded to the first part of my review. Well, she gave me the same canned response she have used on at least 50 other negative reviews, hoping I will accept her apology for not living up to high standards. Well, in this case (and a lot others) they are struggling to live up to extremely low standards, never mind high (or 4 star) standard. And no - I will NOT accept an apology for something that is clearly the "standard" of this hotel. What I will accept is a refund of the price difference between a 1 star hotel (which I got) and a 4 star hotel (which I paid for).

Please don’t waste your time and money on this hotel. With the same amount paid, I would highly recommend Evergreen Laurel Hotel. 0 amenities were provided, not even mineral water. Room and overall hotel environment in very bad and old condition. Everything looks super worn out and old. Check-in experience at the Receptionist wasn’t that great at all too. The choice of bed was not clarified and ignored. After entering the room, realizing I was given 2 single beds instead of one large bed that I have requested earlier online, I had to go back down to the Receptionist to inform and ask for a change of rooms. Unfortunately, it could not be done as rooms with big beds were β€œfull”. I will never return to this hotel ever again.

The main desk only have one person in charge. We have booked and paid half payment for the room with large bed but during the check in time the management only provided two single bed. Since we are couple how we are suppose to sleep in single bed. Check in time and check out time is very slow because there is only one person in charge at front desk. The front desk are not friendly, they don’t explain anything even about the car parking is so confusing. Moreover the hotel charge 1.14% additional charges, excluding hotel tax. It’s really disappointing stay. Even if people walk or make noise u can hear it. The pillowcase was dirty black colour. Won’t ever recommend people to come stay in this hotel

Not kidding: Immigration at KLIA was faster than this hotel's check in desk. Seriously, making your guests stand in line for OVER ONE HOUR to check in to their room is absolutely unacceptable. Especially considering the fact that guests have been complaining about this for months. Just read the reviews. This place must have been pretty good in it's day. Unfortunately that day was 30 years ago. So unless you're checking in on a quiet weekday evening, avoid at all cost. P.S. Dear hotel management, please spare me the standard apologetic response and the pretend promise to "look into it". It's obvious you do not care about returning visitors. If you disagree, feel free to reimburse me. Thank you!

The hotel's location offers great convenience, with easy access to several good restaurants and cafes within a 5-10 minute walk. Additionally, despite having a city view, I was pleasantly surprised to catch glimpses of the ocean and Penang Bridge. The cleanliness of the toilets was satisfactory, although I did notice that the staff may not be the friendliest. However, since my main purpose was to have a comfortable place to sleep and freshen up, I didn't mind this aspect too much. For those traveling by car, it's worth noting that the parking can be a bit challenging to access within the same building. On the positive side, it is free of charge. Unfortunately, my overall sleep quality was compromised by the noise from the rooftop night club around midnight. Despite the comfort of the bed and pillows, it was difficult to fall back asleep after being awakened. This disturbance was caused by the sky bar, where people were shouting due to intoxication. In summary, the hotel's location is convenient, and I enjoyed the partial ocean view. The cleanliness of the toilets met my expectations, although the staff's friendliness could be improved. Parking is available for free, but it may be a bit challenging to access. The only significant drawback was the disturbance caused by the rooftop night club, which affected my sleep.

The hotel is situated at a very good location from where you can take a quick 15-min walk for food, public transport, money exchange, and a few tourist attractions. The room was okay for us with a beautiful view (but not bayview, mind it!). But the amenities and service could be improved. Though we're in a non-smoking area, somebody smoked in the adjacent room, and we smelt the smoke in our bathroom so strongly that it was really bothersome. There's a 360 degree revolving restaurant on the top most floor with a sky deck. For RM 110, the menu doesn't have that variety.

We booked this hotel based on the pictures and upon arrival it was not anything like advertised. Requested a non-smoking room, however it smelt so strongly of cigarettes and when we asked them to clear it for us they sprayed aerosol and left. Room air became unbearable with both scents mixed as there were no ventilation and air con was very weak. The room also was very noisy can hear all the cars and people around. The receptionist on duty, Irshadi, was of no help and stated that there was nothing he could do and that all rooms were full. 10 minutes later, after we booked another hotel, he offered to change us to another room. He offered no apologies and kept asking what else are we complaining about when we have said what we need to say. Definitely not impressed with this attitude. We had to lose money because it’s non refundable and waste time dealing with this and finding new hotel. Do not recommend and don’t be fooled by pictures.

Dirties hotel I ever came. The kettle also dirty even after I wash several times by myself. I used that kettle for my kids . Not recommended for family with kids. The towel , bedsheer everything dirty. And the pool also not clean especially the kids one; smelly and colour changed. Not maintain at all. This hotel not deserve not even for one star. Budget hotel much more better than this.

We had a very unpleasant experience for 3 night stays in this hotel. Our checked in, the night shift receptionist has a very bad attitude to answer where hotel parking location is & how to get complimentary parking fee. During our first night, we couldn't even sleep peacefully as me and my partner were having sudden body rashes. But my partner and I thought it was just normal sunburn we got during our visit to the beach afternoon. Then the second night was a total nightmare, we woke up at 3am due to major body itches. Immediately found some bed bugs and tried to kill all of them so we could carry on with our sleep. We decided to feedback to the receptionist next morning and showed pictures taken of my skin as per attach in this post. We requested for early check-out and would like to have a refund for third night stay which we already paid in full amount previously. Unfortunately, the only best option that they provided us was we could choose to switch to another room. We hesitated for that as we didn't want to take any risks of getting more bedbug bites during our travel in Penang. We are also convinced that they will not provide any help for our skin issues which caused by the hotel. Very disappointed, even though we requested the refund for only the 3rd night room fee but they didn't even bother to assist us in any ways. Our skin treatments has definitely cost more than one night hotel fee! Without hesitations, we declined their offer to switch to a new room and we immediately booked another hotel to continue our third night in Penang. For those who plans to stay in George Town area, we do not recommend you to stay in this hotel as the disasters are not worth at all.

I book at two single bed room and an end-up one king for 2 males. Special requested a non-smoking room but ended up smoking room. Very unpleasant smell for a non smoker and uneasy to stay for the night. The Check-in Indian girl only said nothing she could do. Damage RM380. Not recommending Bay View!!! Not worth the stay. Angry! Smelly!

    1) Room very spacious 2) Internet was great 3) Parking facility and procedures difficult & inconvenience 4) Front Counter very disappointed during check in. Had earlier requested for check in at 12noon, and details was given but no call to inform on it. When arrived, room was available but PURPOSELY make me waited till 1noon. Have to delay my meeting due to this. 5) Water kettle was very smelly and didn't change even after complaining 6) Room phone(#922) not working 7) Late checkout after 1pm is chargeable at RM22 for every hours. 8) Supposed to extend another 2 days (29 to 30 Mac) but due to above, checked in to Sunway Hotel, Georgetown with better rate and service. Note: Informed to the front desk that this will be my FIRST & LAST stay at Bayview. DISSAPOINTED

The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. But if you are first timer booking the hotel, you might have some issues with parking where we didn't get any proper instruction where to park. I need to call the reception to get the direction. Later, check in process super slow, 2.5 hours. The staff was not well prepared to handle the crowd. They took 15 min for each guest to check in. Please try to improve ur check in process, you guys got the data for the guests coming so you can be prepared to ease the process

They allowed us to early check-in which was really good for us. Additionally, they provide partially sea view room which we really liked. However, we didn't feel welcoming environment in the hotel. I think, their staffs can be more hospitable and helpful to their guest. But the deluxe room that we were staying in didn't meet our expectations. This hotel is how old I don't know, but it needs major renovation. Everything is old and looked very bad (eye-catching). The door looked like, it haven't gotten burnished for decade. Room equipments are old. The door lock needs several times trying to get open by room access card. The whole hotel was full of flies (mostly their f&b outlets), I don't know they do pest control or not. When it's come to food, I have mixed opinions. Because I don't know Mantra is under Bayview or 3rd party. Mantra's food and service were really good. We liked having our lunch there. I will request the authority to provide their staff with traditional Indian long-tail shoes instead of black part-timer shoes. However, when it comes to buffet breakfast, I will say this is the cheapest and lowest quality buffet breakfast we have ever tried in our life. Firstly the foods are so cold. Secondly, the quality of the foods and drinks seems very low to us. The taste was below average and the choice of food was limited. It wasn't free breakfast, we paid extra for adding breakfast options. Even though, if it was complimentary, they should higher the standard as they are claiming themselves as a brand and 4star hotel. Just because of their breakfast I lose my appetite and lose my confidence in trying their other f&b outlet. Bayview got the very strategic location, accessibility to popular attractions and places very easy. The atmosphere of the hotel seems ok to me.

I recently stayed at Bayview Hotel Georgetown Penang and was pleasantly surprised by the spacious room and captivating town view. The room was generously sized, allowing for a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. The town view from the window was simply stunning, creating a picturesque backdrop to my entire stay. The room was well-appointed with modern amenities, and the comfortable layout made it easy to unwind after a day of exploring. The combination of ample space and the charming town view made my stay truly enjoyable. The hotel staff was friendly and attentive, enhancing the overall experience. I highly recommend Bayview Hotel Georgetown Penang for anyone looking for a cozy retreat with a delightful town view. Can't wait to return for another visit!

We loved the history and the convenience of location with this hotel as well as the wonderful concierge staff, that’s why I gave it 4/5. We booked 4 rooms for a 2 family holiday and on arrival it took over an hour to check in, one room wasn’t ready and another room was polluted with fresh cigarette smoke even though it was a non smoking room. The front counter staff did their best to assist with changing the room but being so short staffed it made it very timely and frustrating for all those involved . All 4 rooms also experienced issues with their access cards stopping working during the 5 day booking. Bayview management : your guests are continuing to comment on these issues, perhaps take notice and address these staffing issues at your front counter to better serve your clientele.

My husband and I came to Penang for a week in June 2022. We ended up staying 2 months due to medical needs. We stayed for 3 nights at the Bayview Georgetown and liked it so much that we stayed the full 2 months. Our room was modern, comfortable, clean, with a great upper floor view of the ocean. The kind, helpful, friendly staff and management kept us there. We can't express how much we appreciated the staff helping us with our every need. They were genuine and made us feel at home. We will definitely return to see our new friends next time in Penang! Thanks ALL!

The location of this hotel is great! Lots of good food within 15 minutes walking. (About 25 minutes from the airport; 10 minutes from Thai Consulate) The hotel is on the old side but the beds are firm and comfortable. We had the family room so there were plenty of space. The room had two twin beds in one room and the other room has a king size bed, and 1 1/2 bathroom. Our room was facing towards the north, so had a pretty good view. The bathroom only has a bathtub that doesn’t drain super well for showers. But the main problem was that the bathtub side is at least two feet high so stepping in and out can be a problem. The hotel is across from a school, so during school year there will be broadcasts and ceremonies in the mornings. We also found the room a bit dark at night. Daytime is great because of the big windows (they don’t open for safety reasons). Lastly, remember to bring your electric adapters, but if you forget you can purchase one around the corner in the convenience stores (24 Express).

Room and location is good. 340 rooms, only 2 guest lifts, enough? On normal 'times'? Now with the new SOP on the Covid 19 pandemic..... Call for service from room, non existence, front office, info, receptionist, house keeping, no one pick up.... Otherwise, will give 5 star, am just worried of the packed lifts in these unusual times.

I recently stayed at Bay view Hotel , and unfortunately, my experience was overshadowed by a persistent smoke odor inside the room.It was very uncomfortable for my family because we stayed with a baby Pros: 🍽 The buffet was a saving grace. Impressive variety and quality of food. Cons: 🚭 The room had a strong cigarette smell that affected our comfort. I hope the hotel addresses this issue for future guests.

Really really slow check in. Queued for almost an hour. Room is pretty basic, looks dated and old...but has nice views over Georgetown, overlooking a small park. Price-wise, it was very affordable as they were having a promotion but that was the reason why check-in was so slow; there were too many people.

The spacious, quiet room is ideal for helping you unwind. You can find anything you need there. Although a touch dated, wood furniture is still good. An ancient hair dryer will stop if it gets too hot. My bathtub's water drain won't lock. The bed is quite cozy. I can smell cigarette in elevators and hallway. We found hair in a cup staff should be more careful.

We went during Christmas season they seem understaff but the staff was very helpful and kind. Our room had an odor from the carpet might need replacement and for the most part the hotel carpet looks old and dirty. The gym was not well kept and towels was laying down everywhere on the floor. Overall the stay was alright but there is plenty of things the hotel can improve on. Location wise it's perfect because there are plenty of tourist spots and amenities within walking distance of the hotel.

Nice surroundings, great pool, the beach is just 20m away from the pool. The hotel is a bit far from the center of Penang but it is nice if you want to be in a quiet area. The room we had was clean and renovated but overall a bit of refurbishment won't be unecessary especially the lobby, the restaurant , some of the rooms are quite old looking, the gym also needs more modern equipment especially the cable machine, chess press machine, and dumbbells.

Came here for a family's wedding and stayed from 9-12/12 for 4d3n. Understandable that they're short of manpower but however they still provide their level best of service with a smile. Even my mum and husband are extremely satisfied, and not to mention my kids. They even get new friends from locals and overseas. Breakfast and staff was good, front office team was friendly even the tired looks are visible on their face. Housekeeping who attended to my request was very efficient and friendly as well. People who keep complaining might want to look in the mirror first. "WE ARE WHAT WE DESERVE" my family always keep a positive attitude when traveling, so we can see the good things. For Bayview, keep on improving and eventually you will get there.

The hotel was nice and clean. They have large rooms with comfortable beds. The bathroom had both a bathtub and shower. They have a rooftop bar & revolving restaurant with gorgeous views of the city and ocean, it's a nice spot to unwind after a long day of exploring the city. Check in and check out went really quick. I was able to check in a bit earlier. However, this depends on room availability.

We arrived at 2.30pm for check-in, and was only able to check-in to our room at 3.15pm. There was a long wait for check-in, but only 2 staff manning the reception during peak check-in time. Our room smelled like feet, towels were an aged greyish white instead of white. Pillows were so used they were soggy and flat. The best part is, after checking out at 11.30am, a staffer from the hotel called me at 8.40pm on the same day asking me if I had checked out of the hotel! It is so unbelievably bizarre! The hotel has definitely seen better days, a couple decades ago.

As dated, I enjoyed my stay here so far. Our room was clean and spacious. One of the receptionist was so nice to be given me the room with a nice view. It is not hard to find the parking space but you might miss the parking entrance near the petron, lucky us, we ask the guard at main entrance and he is really helpful. Their staff is really helpful and polite. Breakfast was really good, there are a lot varieties of food to choose. πŸ₯° Definitely will come again in the future!

Dear Lynn Choong, If you reading this review, as hotel manager you really need to do something. Today 24 June 23 at 6.30pm, the check in queue was too long and only one counter open. This is totally not acceptable as it is weekend. You guys should be expecting more customers. They were two people manning but only one counter open. When I asked why only one open, they don’t answer me and just ignore me. Seems like the receptionist also was really new and the one in black jacket do not do anything. I don’t know what she is doing when i think two counters should be opened at that circumstance. To be honest this is not 4 star hotel should provide service. Not trying to be snarky but really a genuine feedback for you guys to improve. Not only me was not in a good mood, everyone in the line as well. Thank you.

Issues during our 3-night stay: 1. We told one of your hotel staff TWICE about the missing bath towel, but it still didn't show up. We had to split the available bath towel in half. 2. No face towels available. 3. No bedside / table lamps in the room, which would be helpful for using the bathroom in the middle of the night. 4. Can't adjust the temperature of the aircon. 5. The blankets provided were inconsistent at times.

During my recent business trip, I had an unpleasant hotel experience. The room I was staying in had an unpleasant, musty smell, which reminded me of a damp campground. The space was dirty, and the towels provided were old and frayed. The bathroom was particularly concerning, as the toilet and bathtub were covered in mould, which was both unsightly and unhygienic. Although the hallway was a little better, it still smelled unpleasant and seemed neglected. However, the hotel's Wi-Fi was the only good thing about my stay; it was fast and reliable. The staff were exceptional and tried their best to address my concerns. Despite these positive aspects, the hotel needs to improve in the areas I have mentioned to provide a comfortable and enjoyable stay for future guests.

For friends who like the convenience of traveling in the city. Recommend that this place is suitable for staying. Because it's close to entertainment venues, restaurants, and it's close to the corner for taking chic photos. Definitely go back. Moreover, the room was clean. good service staff Gives great importance to customers. And this hotel is popular for holding parties. Various too I recommend that friends come and try coming here.

Room was spacious and clean. Vent in cupboard has mold. Informed front desk but they did not clean it. Hopefully it could be checked on and rectified. Location is good, near Assumption Cathedral and St Xavier's Institution. Love lane and Chulia Street is 5-15mins walk. Really great place for food and drinks. Probably stay again if I go back to Penang.

It's a very convenient hotel, with food nearby and night life walking distance. However, aside from rooms which are quite old, but clean, the receptions check in and check out are quite slow. Rooms clean but run down. It's good for a night or two. Toilet flush is weird. You gotta hold it long for it to fully flush.

Staying for 4 nights in Bayview Hotel Georgetown. Great location and nearby got a lot of good food. However, the hotel is very old and no renovation, the carpets in my room was disappointed with noticeably dirty carpets and limited air circulation made the room feel a bit stuffy. Suggestions: I would suggest that the management considers investing in room renovations, especially focusing on improving the cleanliness of the carpets. Addressing the ventilation issue, perhaps through better air conditioning or providing alternatives, would significantly enhance the overall comfort for guests.

The Bayview is just the best. We were only supposed to be in Penang for 3 days, but due to a multitude of glorious reasons we extended our stay and extending our stay at the lovely Bayview made it all that much better....(plus a non hassle process like other hotels) Service is amazing, the location in the heart of George Town is heavenly and amazing views from the room. The hotel has a lot of character and charm, which makes it all that much better. And then to top it off being able to head to the rooftop bar and restaurant for a drink, with the best views is just the cherry on the cake. Thank you so much to everyone at The Bayview, look forward to seeing you again in 6 months. Highly recommend anyone heading to George Town to stay at the damn fine Bayview Hotel.

I had a terrible night staying at the hotel. I was staying at Room 637. My friend helped me book the hotel for two nights, but on the first evening, I heard someone break into my room at about 5:30am. I suspected that he came in and took pictures of my credit card. I checked out the day afterwards and reported it to the management but I didn't hear any follow-ups. There was no point for me reporting it to the police as I didn't lose anything, but as I inspected my door, I saw unsual scratches which suggested that the room did have serious safety concern. I could not rule out the possibility that it was my illusion. But I later heard that the blue mansion opposite to this hotel was a famous haunted place. Either case I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

We booked for 1 night (24th-25th June). Checking in took more that 1 hour. We started to queue at 5.15pm and was only given a room at 6.30pm. They said the system was not updated. But how can the room not be ready at 5pm when your guest checkout at 12pm? I think what upsets me most is no apology at all, they just pretend we didn’t queue long or just avoid when we try to politely give our feedback. Room itself is decent with the carpet smelling old. We’re a family of 3. Our room booking did mentioned we are 3 but there is only 2 towels and 2 bottled water. So I called the room service to send in 1 extra towel and drinking water. They said ok, will send. But until 10pm and even the next day, no one bother to send us anything. So we just end up going down to buy drinks from the convenience store and share towels. I think this will definitely be my first and last stay here. I got better rooms in Georgetown before with better price and service.

We really enjoyed this hotel, it’s a perfect place to work (2 desks in the room was a great surprise for a working couple!) with great sea views, great but quiet location, and lovely pool plus gym. We extended our stay to 12 days and really enjoyed it

Good location for food and sightseeing. Need some improvement on accommodation such as extra bed and pillows. Dining especially breakfast need to provide more varieties as Penang is Malaysia's melting pot.Keep your good work on cleanliness.

Superior room policy does not allow request for twin single beds. Wiser to spend a little more and opt for a Deluxe room. Deluxe room gives u the option to have twin double beds. I had to change my initial Superior room to another Superior room due to some problems. I have stayed in Bayview for many years. Staff are very helpful but policy is policy. During vacation the last thing u wish to have is Stress.

The check-in experience is terrible. It is the first time in all my 20 years of travel that I need to wait for 1.5 hours to check in! All customers in the queue were complaining and there is no one there to improve the situation. Room is antique and poorly maintained. Mattress is so old that I can feel the underneath spring. Definitely not coming back to this hotel and certainly not recommending to anyone, except my enemies. ==== Replying to the Hotel Manager Lynne Choong - While I appreciate you responding to my review comments, it is very disappointing to know that your cookie-cutter response is obviously nothing more than lip service to customers. Looking at all the reviews over past months, I'm definitely not the first and only one who has given those reviews. The same set of responses were given by you and yet nothing have changed. Why aren't you as the hotel manager not there on the ground to improve on the situation? Are you even aware that customers standing in the queue were all complaining and yet nothing was done about it AT THAT TIME? Especially when you are already aware about the problem given similar review comments given over past months? It's unfortunate that Google does not have a negative or zero star, which I will put it if it is there. I'll take out 1 star from location given that there is nothing else I can set. I must say that your response is sharper than the cookie cutter I'm using to bake. If this hotel is not sincere in resolving the problem, please don't bother to reply to all these review comments.

I have to say by the this is among the worst hotel service in Penang. Check in is slow. People are stranded in lobby. At one time there are almost 50 people stuck in the lobby. SOP is not followed. Would say a bad and failed management for this hotel. Not worth the money paid. Better go for other hotels

Returning to this hotel for further will have no regrets. The wifi is strong and good. Service are well within expectation. The shower need to improve. A bathtube is not necessary. Overall good hotel to stay.

The room was quite big and clean. The 360 bar restaurant staff was friendly and helpful. Just if can add more menus for buffet. I enjoyed staying there. Will come again. Thanks

Overall, the hotel is very good indeed. Hotel staff are well trained, very accommodating & friendly. Thanks for the excellent & vibrant hospitality. A small suggestion, perhaps hotel management could re-assess the condition of pillows in the room. It seems that it is a little too soft / thin in nature. I wish to personnally thank Mr. Wahdi, Ms. Madeline, Ms. Helen, Concierge team & many more that I couldnt't remember their names. Thank you for everything.

Staff were friendly. I was upgraded to room with king size bed. However it was facing bathroom. And my room is located just opposite the lift. Air-conditioning was not cold enough during the day time probably due to heat coming from the glass wall. Room was a little dusty.

Friendly staffs, very nice environment. View from the restaurant is eye-catching..limited food from the menu for ala cart and expensive. Can pay the price for the view, friendliness and the taste.

Very bad service. Came to check in at 3pm but need to queue up for 1 and half hour. But then, they simply said room is not ready yet. Customers were stranded at the lobby with waiting hours average >2hr. Such a bad idea to stay here because their reason is they are facing the same problems almost everyday. Then why cant u increase the manpower for housekeeping part?

Very disappointing stay... Poor service, bad system, slow process for check in check out... Firstly took about an hour to queue for check in, go into the room, no towel and drinking water supply, security box not functioning, charging port not functioning, call to operator or receptionist, slow response and answer.. Second day, back from outside, all room key not functioning, back in room, no towel supply again, called housekeeping for times, no one pick up, called reception, been told that having problem on towel laundry, pending supply. Normally check out just drop the card and go, this hotel need to queue for long in order to do that... only 2 staff handling at the counter for check out and validate parking coupon and the male chinese staff slow in his work Kind of frustrating with their staff services

Actually come here just for the lunch since it's pretty crowded around town on the weekend. The food variety is good and taste great too. The price is of course higher than standard restaurants but for a hotel, it's reasonable. Great place to eat

Everything was great. The room, the parking and the service. The hotel design feels like early 2000. It feels like going back in time when I still in secondary school. However, I think the pool should be renovate , it looks dull and old. But I have decent stay. The room looks simple and have some kind of old smell. Regardless, great place to spend with family and friends.

The experience was fantastic. The front desk personnel, Izham was professional in his conduct. Product of good training by the hotel. Smiling and helpful. The rooms were large, clean and had a great view of the sea. Bed sheet and pillowcase were freshly changed. First class. The only set back is that you really have to know where the parking entrance was. A bit amusing as we had to go around twice before finding the car park entrance. The other strange thing was you could also exit from the same entrance of the parking which I find it rather dangerous. Nonetheless, it definitely is good experience to have stayed in this hotel. I must say that of all the 3 Bayview Hotels that I have stayed, this was certainly the best.

This hotel is well managed and is very good value. I found the staff to be polite and very helpful. The facilities are excellent, and its location is perfect for exploring the old quarter of George Town. I have used this hotel on several occasions, and have not been disappointed.

My favourite hotel in Penang. Very strategic place. Has everything you need. Just that the check in is rather slow but overall been coming here every year 😊

During weekend, parking space was very limited and hard to find. Parking was free. But guest have to get ur ticket endorsed at the reception counter before going out each and everytime you park your car. Why not u provide the guest with one day valid ticket to go in out. It is much easier and convenient for the guest. Others was okay, room are nice and clean. Bathroom was very good with bathub. I love the fact that they provide iron in every room rather than putting it on every floor. Others was okay . 4/5.

Overall the hotel is good..it is located at the centre of town. The room was spacious and i like the shower pressure and a tub in bathroom, but I'm very dissapointed with a customer services..the check- in process took a longer time..i have to wait almost an hour.I booked 3room ( 2 for my families) but only 2 room was ready..and i have to wait 2hour for the 3rd room (my room)to be ready..when room is ready, they didn't inform me!..luckily i keep calling them asking them if my room is ready or not and they said Yes!! Poor service!!!!..and at night i ask for mineral bottle. They said will deliver it to my room.I waited for mineral bottle but no one sending it to me.I'm only satisfied with the room only but not their customer services!!!!..starting from the first day i arriving here, the customer services was not friendly at all and not helping me so much..please improve your services when dealing with customer..

The room was clean. Basic amenities were provided. Room was equipped with ironing board and iron, a mini bar and safe vault. Not forgetting friendly and helpful staffs. A few things that I hope can improve... The check in and check out process was very tedious. I had to wait up to an hour to check in and almost half an hour to check out. Partly due to the recent reopening of borders and the early tourism hype. Another thing is the elevators. With the social distancing policy.. one lift can only fit 4 people. The lift is already slow by default. It took at least 4 trips to get an empty lift. Finally is the parking.. only second and fifth floor has access to the lobby.. but the fifth floor lift will come down to second floor and you have to walk a short distance to reach another lift to go to the lobby. Hahaha. But I know the parking is kinda hard to do anything now. Overall still a pleasant stay.

Hotel was busy during my visit over Christmas. Room was spacious, though could do with newer carpeting and furniture. Did not receive any room slippers at first, and reception did not follow up on my request for slippers - received them after personally speaking with the kind housekeeping lady. Overall, good location for walking to nearby attractions around Georgetown.

  • 3/5 Mostafa A. 1 year ago on Google
Pros The location is amazing and near to all attractions. Cons the facilities and the room and cleanliness is overly poor. If you have no other option like me then go there and make sure you spend less as possible at the room. Also this hotel has endless lines of checking ins, you also need to ask them to clean your room or even provide you with a bathroom flip flop they won’t do it on their own unless you push them for it.

This is an established hotel. I have not stayed here before. Location wise, five stars as it is within walking distance to many eateries and tourist attraction spots. The upper floor got some lovely views of the city and a partial sea view depending on which corner is your room. The only drawback is the acoustic control of the room. I can hear the next door occupants talking. My good night's sleep was interrupted when they came back late.

Big mistake going there during festive holidays. I thought City hotels like Bayview should be able to manage full house guests check ins by now, the Management seriously need to consider improvement.. Quite a disappointment this trip, the resort was much better than the city hotel in terms of service. Check in took 2hrs Hotel parking lot is a joke and level 5 no lights at the parking at all! Don’t walk alone.. Food, I’d stay away from it.. The only good thing was check out and validating your parking ticket πŸ˜‚

Your hotel is beautiful. Your staffs are great. Except for one . Your lift. Every time people or kids who go swimming in the sea or lake, get into the lift without drying. If you notice the floors in the lift have cracked and after a few hours the lift smells like urine. Please do something about it.

The dining options are quite limited, and the water in the swimming pool is excessively cold. Although the room is spacious, it lacks cleanliness, evident from stains on the bedsheets, pillowcases, and curtains. Despite requesting a change of bedsheets twice due to the stains, the issue persisted. The toilet flush is noisy, and the bathtub also has stains. It's advisable to bring your own towel, as the hotel towels are stained and emit an unpleasant odor. Moreover, hand and face towels are not provided. The surrounding noise is disruptive, and the water pressure is insufficient. The curtains cannot be fully closed, and the TV only offers local channels with limited options. This accommodation is not suitable for families with children. The hotel should consider upgrading to smart TVs and ensuring all electrical outlets function properly, as three of them in the room are non-functional, excluding those for the fridge and TV.
