This is by far the worst experience I have ever had in a hotel. I should have read the google reviews before we booked. The only thing 5 stars about this hotel is the price. We had a junior suite. The noise from the stopping and starting cars at the traffic lights just below are balcony was terrible but it was going to get a lot worse. The airco wasn’t working and the heating was stuck on full blast. There was no way to sleep in that oven. We called for help but there was nothing the staff could do. The temperature was set for 18c but the room was really hot. That ment we had to have the windows open. The sound of all the traffic with the heat was horrible. Because we had a horrible night with no sleep we canceled the rest of our stay. We asked to speak to the manager the next morning but we got the runaround.

Do not stay there !! It is 3:30 in the morning, we are all awake in a room cost 500 euro a night, beacuse the airconditioning in the room is broken and it is too hot to sleep. The front desk ask us to wait until tomorrow 9:00 am, so the manager can decide whether if we can get a refund to leave or not. The hotel is fully booked and we ask for a refund, so we can leave. The front desk said if you are leaving now(at 3:00 am in the morning), we can do, we said ok. Then he change to have to wait until tomorrow then the manager is there to decide whether if we can get a refund and leave the hotel. I was able to make the front desk to call one of the manager on the phone. We got the same answer ! I must to say this treatment is below any star of hotel service. I don’t know how can this hotel get 5 star rating, but maybe it is time for the organization to review the rating !

This is not hotel. It look like old apartment that has changed to hotel. There is no lobby or resteurant or bar. only one small elevators..I paid for breakfast for family of four through booking.com but they did not provide breakfast and asked for $400 more although i showed them the printed copy of reservation. In general do not use booking.com or this hotel. They just want to charge you in anyway they can.

This hotel lists as 5 stars and comes up in searches as such, but it's actually a 5 star APARTMENT-hotel, which has different qualifications (like a secured front door). I was told this by an employee after I asked how the hotel could have such a high star rating and so few amenities. There is no bar, no restaurant, no room service (other than an expensive and unimpressive breakfast which they'll bring to your room now because of COVID), no concierge. Forget about things like turndown service--you're lucky if they leave you an extra bottle of shampoo and keep everything in your room in working order. I was fooled by the 5-star rating--you've now been forewarned. On top of that, it is poorly maintained. The housekeeping is inconsistent--sometimes they restock things (like Nespresso pods, hand soap, sugar, etc), sometimes they don't. The rooms need to be redone--as evidenced by the dingy old sofa-bed that squeaks when you sit on it and the broken clock radio sporting a very out-of-date iPod dock. Our water pressure was horrible and I heard other guests complaining of the same. Plan some extra time for hair washing. Many items in our room were broken (dishwasher, clock radio, lights, coffee maker, dresser drawers) and we had a potentially dangerous mechanical issue that disturbed our sleep two nights in a row. The response from the front desk was less than satisfactory--they gave a discount after the first night of disturbed sleep but basically said "tough luck" when it stretched to a second night. (They'd offered to change our room but assured us it was fixed after the first occurrence, so we opted not to pack all our things and move.) On the positive side: location is really amazing and the rooms are spacious and well appointed. Front desk staff is professional and pleasant. If you require the washing machine/dryer combo (or just want to be able to pack light!) or kitchen facilities, this is a great option. Probably also great for small families (put the kids on the sofa bed.) Just know what you're paying for and try to avoid paying 5-star hotel prices...

It's NOT NOT NOT a 5-star hotel; don't be misled like me. The rooms aren't suites; they're just slightly better than standard. At a 5-star hotel, I had to come down to get what I needed, and during non-busy hours, there was no one to assist with my luggage. It's more like a 3-star hotel in a good location. You can find similar accommodations at a much lower price.

HORRIBLE. - After requesting for interconnected rooms- 3 months ago, and after getting a guarantee is when we booked this hotel. We got all rooms on different floors.(we have 5 kids with us) - 1 hour to check in. - AC NOT WORKING (no other rooms available for switching) (no electrician to check the problem also) - 1 PHONE with 0 charge and not working! We booked 5 executives suites. Paying more than 1000 euros a night. And this is what we got!!!!

We had a triple room booked. When we arrived, we were told that we had to pull out the bed from the sofa which we didn’t understand why they hadn’t prepare it. We then saw there was no pillow in the extra bed and we asked for one when we left for dinner. When we returned, no pillow was left in the room and we had to use one with no pillow case we found in the wardrobe (disgusting). Next morning we complained again and we were told the were out of pillow cases the night before but that it was going to be solved. When we returned to the hotel after spending the night out, the pillow in the extra bed still didn’t had a pillow case. We complained again and the lady in the Reception wasn’t helpful at all. Finally everything was solved nearly 24 hours later and one night without a proper pillow. Unacceptable. We won’t be back. Don’t recommend this place.

The staff was friendly and location is amazing. The bed was comfortable and the room clean. I would have given it 5 stars if not for one thing: it was excruciatingly hot inside the room. We stayed there the last week of April when the temperature outside was in the upper 50s at night and upper 60s/lower 70s during the day. The heaters in the building seem to be these old school radiators that were cranked up like it was 30 degrees outside. When we asked the front desk why we can’t use the AC in our room even though we booked this hotel because it’s advertised with air conditioning, we were told the weather outside was too cold to have AC on so they were shut off. The result was that the heat from the day and radiators in the hall increased the temperature of the room to what felt like upper 70s to lower 80s when we came back to sleep at night. I get it. AC is bad for the environment. Why have the heater on full blast though? For me it was nearly impossible to sleep. I had to put wet towels around my neck and woke up sweating multiple times during the night. I didn’t get good sleep the full week we spent in Paris, dramatically decreasing the quality of our vacation. We tried opening the windows, which did let in some cool air, but since it’s in a central location, the street below was noisy all night. We had to close the windows due to the constant noise of cars, beeping, and people yelling outside in the middle of the night. I suggest either staying somewhere else or confirming with the hotel if the AC will be working during your stay.

I would return to this hotel again the next time I am in Paris. The location is great! I loved the fact that we could cook our own food here. Our room had a frying pan, two pots, and four sets of dish/cup/utensils. The cooking space was small but large enough for us to prepare simple breakfast menus. The room is quite spacious compared to other Paris hotels. The only downside was that the bathroom was tiny.

Beware – this is far from a 5-star hotel. There is literally no plug or a hair dryer in the bathroom. There is just one on the floor in the main room with no mirror. You have to actually sit on the floor in order for the dryer to reach your head and dry your hair without a mirror. The service was awful, the front desk smirked and gave so much attitude. Our phone never worked/never fixed even though we asked. AC wasn't working (middle of summer). The room was BEYOND tiny even for Paris, made to look way bigger in photos. We were 2 and could barely turn around in the room with our 2 luggages which we couldn't keep open at the same time. Coffee was pods never replenished. I can honestly keep going but I think anyone reading this gets the gist at this point.

I really wanted to like this hotel. The proximity to the Louvre and several restaurants was great. The front desk folks were kind and attentive. One thing I did not like is the fact that there was no AC. This drove me crazy. Also, why was the breakfast so expensive? Unfortunately, I wouldn’t return to this hotel.

Don’t book this place! Awful customer service and cancellation policy. A few hours after I booked this hotel we needed to cancel for issues getting out of our country. We call the hotel right away to see if we could cancel or get a credit for a future date. It took 3 days for the manager respond. She flat out said no to the refund and would not credit me anything. We essentially threw away $1200 in a few hours. They will keep your money and probably rent your room again. Beware. Stay away. Management is never present seems like. Most hotels have 24 hour cancellation fee. This one will charge you even if you cancel a minute later. Be very aware of this.

This was the worst experience we had in a 5-star hotel. On arrival we were told that the aircon was not functioning well and would be relocated to a Citadine property which is inferior in quality and location. We prepaid for 5 nights of one-bedroom suite and was offered a superior room without any compensation. They were not prepared to refund us in full. So decided to stay for the full five nights. We suffered as Paris had the two hottest days in history. I read the bad review they had 8 months ago and didn’t expect the property to continue to have the aircon. How can they keep the 5- star status?

Overall it’s a nice hotel in a great location with a friendly staff. Rooms were spacious and adequate, but the air conditioning still isn’t working so our room felt like a sauna at night, even with the windows open. I can’t imagine how much hotter it would have been in the summer.

Wonderful and fabulous. We were greeted like family by Naomi and Francois. They effortlessly moved from English to French in helping us check I. and made sure we had everything we needed. Frank made us feel like we were visiting his home when we had brunch at the hotel. The rooms were stylish impeccably clean and tidy. My suite was like a little studio as it had a dishwasher, coffee maker, microwave, and a little stove as well as a fridge. The hotel is centrally located and in walking distance to the tourist attractions and shopping. Transportation was not an issue as a taxi stand and bicycle stand were steps away from hotel and metro a few blocks away. When I return to Paris, I will return to Le Clef Louvre.

After reading many different reviews of various hotels near to the Louvre I booked the Exclusive Suite at this hotel. Check-in was seamless by the very professional and friendly reception desk. My room was on the first floor (103) and as soon as I entered I was not disappointed. The size of the suite was amazing as was all other aspects; very clean, great kitchenette (we only needed the fridge which was vital as it was very hot in Paris when we stayed), comfy bed and air conditioning. The suite had a separate sitting area which was great to come to after a day of exploring. Each room has windows which can be opened if needed but it can get abit noisy from the outside, but I did not mind. In terms of the location, the Lourve is a 6 minute walk, 2 metro stations are close by, a Franprix (general grocery store) is a 2 minute walk, the Big Bus booking office is a 5 min walk and a number of Cafe/Restaurants are literally opposite the hotel. My stay at this hotel really added to a great stay in Paris. I highly recommend this for anyone looking at a great hotel in arrondissement 1 near the Louvre.

The staff was accomodating for my early arrival keeping my luggage and I had a great walk through the Palais-Royal gardens which helped me shake off the jet lag. The front desk staff were charming, efficient, always smiling and greeting me, management was helpful in extending my stay! I had the most wonderful time in Paris, my room was beyond what I could have hoped for. It was clean, quiet and really just perfect. I had flowers and the cleaning staff brought me a vase without me needing to ask. I'd say the best experience I've had in Paris or anywhere really!!! I will be back soon and each time I travel to Paris La Clef Louvre will be my first choice! The location is amazing as well, I really felt like I lived in Paris for a week as the fridge and laundry made this such an easy stay! I found a great fruit stand just down the road. I was working part of the time and the wifi was excellent, never had any problems with it.

We had an amazing time! We stayed here for our 10th anniversary. This location was awesome - near the Louvre Museum and other sites. Staff was highly accommodating and for our anniversary delivered fresh strawberries and champagne. Would recommend this hotel for those who like personalized service and top notch accomodations.

Great location near the Louvre. The junior suite was nice with a washing machine along with a microwave and dishwasher in the kitchenette.

An absolutely wonderful stay, and still, one of my favorites to date. I have stayed in many hotels—from 3 to 5 star, with some large, lavish suites—but this one was quite memorable. Not only was it a lovely place to stay in but the staff was also very warm and kind. I enjoyed having a little kitchenette, as the person I was traveling with has a great deal of food allergies, so we were able to have some snacks and prepare food for her easily. Though the rooms are not large, this is quite standard for Paris, and did not take away from the quality of the furnishings or well planned use of the space. And if traveling with small children, I feel this is a wonderful hotel. The location is gorgeous, and each evening I returned to the hotel, it felt welcoming—like coming home.
