We recently became an Honors Member because we intend to stay at only Hilton Hotels after seeing all the benefits that are offered and how great our past experiences have been until the past experience we had at the Embassy Suites Downtown Houston. There were no big issues at first other than waiting to check in because the rooms weren't ready but totally understandable and we weren't the only ones. Everything seemed great up until later that evening after check in and check out process the next day. Our hotel room looked like it hadn't even been cleaned yet, someone left their dirty towels in the bathroom along with used makeup wipes and false eyelashes stuck to the tv. Later that night when our guests who were also staying in the same room as us were ready to go to bed, they pulled out the sleeper sofa bed and it was soaking wet along with the sheets and blankets. I'm not the type to usually complain about stuff but that was unacceptable and they ended up having to sleep on the floor with pillows and our extra blankets that we brought. Then the next day, I had called the front and asked about late check out when we were eating breakfast and the lady I spoke to said they offered late checkout until 12pm and anything after would be an additional $75.00 an hour.. ( I called because in the Hilton Honors app it offers late check out up to 6pm for an additional $34.00, she said they do not even offer that so she didn't know where I saw that information.) I had also called Valet staff prior to check out to see if it were possible to bring a cart to our room and pull our car around for us and one of the guys in Valet said he was too busy that if we wanted a cart we would have to come down and wait for one ourselves and hung up on me. Once we got down to the lobby all three guys were standing around the podium outside chit chatting.. We checked out at 11:30AM at the latest and I received a bill originally of $562.95. I checked my card statement this morning and was charged a late fee charge when we did not even stay for a late checkout. This is completely unacceptable and I am extremely unsatisfied with the service and how things have been handled at this hotel.

Pro - amazing breakfast included with made-to-order omelets and pancakes, eggs, potatoes, bacon/sausage/ham. Tasty hotel restaurant open til 11pm (Hearsay on the Green). Friendly and helpful front desk staff. Obviously they are all suites, so nice to have the mini fridge and microwave. Con - Room was clearly old and had damage that wasn't repaired (see pics). $269 per night for this?!

Only negative was valet parking price with added tax is around $60 per night as the self-park is closed and overnight on nearly lots not permitted. Otherwise a very good value with the complimentary happy hour and very nice breakfast! Rooms feel a bit dated but comfortable, quiet AC, nice bed, great location.

Only gave 2 stars because of location. Service was horrendous from the valet check in Saturday. Electronic keys are worthless. Happy hour was ok! Room service took forever but then did not leave clean towels. Checkout process was smooth let us check our bags until flight departure. But was denied water while waiting in lobby for plane departure due not being an arriving guest, after I just paid almost $700 for this stay let that sink in!!! Will I choose to stay here again NO!

Valet parking only (no general parking), the customer service is average, good rooms but lack of housekeeping spoils the experience. Overall not a good value for the buck. Restaurant is good, gym is good. Pool looks good but did not use it.

Made a reservation weeks ahead. U booked a two room suite and check in is for 3pm. We got to the hotel at 5pm and our room wasn't ready. Being that we were in town for a concert it was extremely disappointing because my daughter, niece and their friend had to get dressed and ready in the lobby bathroom. Would of been nice to have the room ready. What if we had gotten there at 3 when check in was the earliest we could do? My room was finally ready at 6. We were offered other rooms but I turned them down being they were smaller rooms with smaller beds and I booked the two room suite for a reason. I would never stay here again. Good luck with making reservations here and having your room ready on time.

The rooms are super outdated. However, this isn’t what made our stay phenomenal. The staff at the hotel were amazing starting with Anthony, Nicole H, Alex and David. They all went over and beyond to make sure our state was more than exceptionable, even when the conditions of the hotel were not acceptable. The location is perfect for anyone that is coming down for business that they may be conducting any of the local hotels or smaller businesses a room, or just need a small getaway from the hustle and bustle of life while still being so close to the city to enjoy yourself. I do need to add the front desk manager, the other Nicole was beyond rude, disrespectful and downright unruly. I overheard her speaking to another employee, so degrading and disrespectful and then again in the same tone to other guess they were arriving to the hotel. If I was managing this company, I definitely would have a stern talking to her And she would either have to comply and get in line or be forcefully removed from the property. The other great thing about this property was the amazing staff of the second floor for the happy hour in the amazing staff at Hearsay. I would only recommend this property to someone that needs a small getaway not for family vacation or groups day. I do believe one of the front gentleman spoke of a remodel coming to this location soon I’m eager to see what changes occur hopefully some for the better.

Comfortable and functional stay at Embassy Suites downtown Houston. The property is likely fairly old and a lot of furnishings in the room need a good overhaul. Staff are courteous and very efficient. Front desk processes Check ins and Check outs quickly. A great business stay venue which is kid friendly as well. Location and service wins, rooms need a good upgrade to get better value for prices paid.

Great location for events, baseball/basketball games! Walking distance to the convention center, restaurants, bars and the House of Blue. The hotel has valet parking, it is $51/night. Pet friendly. They offer happy hour at 1730, they have a few free drinks, 1 special of the day cocktail (they decide what it is) and shelf drinks. You can pay for beer, gin, jack ECT. Breakfast was good, variety of cereal, breads, eggs, bacon, sausage, ECT. They also have an omelette station. The staff were great! Enjoyed our stay for a concert!

It was a very nice hotel. We stayed in a 2 room suite that was very spacious. The pool was nice. Loved that it was down town. We walked to the park near by and then to dinner at Biggios. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is the construction going on. We were woken up pretty early to the noises as our room overlooked the construction site. Other than that, it was a nice stay.

My wife and I stayed here over a weekend. One of the nicest hotels I've stayed at. My wife loved the yellow doors which was a unique touch. Very clean room. Also by far the BEST free breakfast I've ever had. Looking forward to staying here again.

Fantastic breakfast with many non-dairy milks if you need them. Great eggs, omelettes made to order, and more. The fitness room is very nice. The rooms are clean and spacious. Good air-conditioning too.

I recently came out to Houston for a conference at Rice University. I enjoyed staying here because it wasn’t far from Rice and it’s pretty close to all the down town activities. The staff here was great and I enjoyed the room service delivered from the restaurant connected to Embassy.

I stayed here for business and brought my family with me. We experienced the worst day of traveling with United Airlines, and the moment we drove up to the hotel we were greeted by the most pleasant staff I have ever seen, and I grew up in the hotel hospitality industry. We checked in with ease. We went right to the reception happy hour and enjoyed a drink and some snacks. The rooms definitely need work. VERY RUN DOWN FURNITURE, firm uncomfortable beds, and stupid Barn style doors for the bathroom that doesn't give ANY privacy. However, the following morning the hot breakfast was very delicious and was very cool to share the dining with so many different types of people. There were state police there for training, business folks getting ready for meeting, families going to the cubs game. The hotel was clean and ran very nicely. Only suggested I offer is a little more time on the cleaning of the common areas such as the elevators. Those high traffic areas remained "less than perfect the entire time, but other than that HIGHLY recommend for business, groups, families or who ever wants to come.

The air conditioning works and the pool is outdoors and open! As of September 2023. I don't know what the complaints where about from other reviews. This place is solid. There's a full open bar at happy hour! And I don't mean pop and chips, we're taking open BAR, with fresh salsa and spinage dip. It's not fancy but you know that already. Hot breakfast is included, the pool has loungers with towels and the rooms are large. If your traveling with kids, and don't have unlimited budget, this hotel is perfect. There was a concert nearby and the bass bounced off the adjacent tower, we needed to sleep earlier than 11pm, so we switched rooms without any hassle. The restaurant on the ground floor attached is great too!

This hotel is fantastic! The complimentary breakfast and happy hour are plentiful. The staff are super helpful and friendly. The rooms are clean and large with comfortable beds. The pool and hot tub are also great. Great location too.

Unfortunately, during our stay they happened to be doing construction in the room above us, so every morning at 8a we got to listen to someone hammering and drilling. It was incessant. Even on the weekends...otherwise the room itself was fine. Only other con about the room was the fact that the street sounded like it was right outside despite being 12 floors up. Loud exhaust and loud music from cars were clearly heard. Valet was mildly expensive but for the peace of mind, I think it was worth it. Breakfast was always great.

Great stay! Hotel is in a good location to get around town and it's walking distance from lots of bars and restaurants. Only a block from scooter rental, and across the street from a beautiful park which is great because the hotel is pet friendly.

Biggest issue was no self parking and fees when parking here. I had a minor issue with AC but the hotel was doing some renovations so the controller was not working accurately based on temp. Lots of homeless and drug issues was glad to see security kept a good eye but be aware of this issue. Police were present in the area but worst I have seen in years in Houston.

Stayed at this property to be close to the Toyota center to attend a concert. Location is literally one block away which made it very walkable to the area. The area had many things closed nearby which made it harder to find something to eat. Check in staff was just “okay” not very personable or welcoming, I say this as there were 3 agents chit chatting /laughing together as I literally waited in front of them to check in which seamed to be after their jokes, so not very attentive. I was not thanked for being a diamond member or informed on hotel amenities. The room was an obstructed view (sarcastic face) but very spacious and very clean. I agree with other reviews that the restroom sliding door is not very private as it does not align to the wall so there was a gap also lacking a lock in a double queen room which is common for families, In my case. Made for awkward restroom time but ran the water for “some” privacy. My encounters with staff was “okay” and seamed to be the norm for non-friendly service. Extra pillows never arrived in the evening but after a second call request they did about an hour later. Hope that can be improved as this hotel seamed to be great aside from the service level. Hotel breakfast staff was very friendly and welcoming so shout out to those ladies. Hotel seamed like a low occupancy day so the breakfast area was nearly empty. Made for a nice quiet breakfast. Embassy breakfast is always a treat for it’s made to order omelets and buffet selection of sides, deserts, fruit and beverages. Hotel was a great location with comfortable beds and brand standard breakfast which makes Embassy Suites great, though for me next time I’ll stay at the actual Hilton across the street.

The positives: great location. Near excellent restaurants, parks and downtown attractions. The suite is spacious, a separate living area with sofa and desk. Separate kitchenette, and a door divides the sleeping quarters. The negatives: all corners have dust, 1/4inch of dust (Im allergic, hard to sleep at night). The bathroom metal features are rusted. To include the bathtub fixture and sink frame. Also, there is no Bible tuck away in a drawer (normally use the hotel Bibles to read before going to sleep). Big bang: the hotel only has valet parking which is $44/day. That was not specify during booking. With all the construction nearby (waking us up at 0600) I recommend lowering the parking fee and being forward with the parking options and fees from the beginning.

The hotel is very close to surrounding event centers. We walked to an Astro game. Very old decor inside our room and furniture is very worn. The sofa bed was for our kids. We discovered a brown stain and a hair on the comforter that was inside a bag for the sofa bed. After notifying the front desk of this around 4pm we never received a clean comforter. The kids went to be sometime after 10pm with towels wrapped around them to stay warm. This was not a very good experience and I would not be staying at this location again.

The staff were all super friendly and helpful. The valet, front desk, dining staff will be sure to make you feel welcome! This hotel is located right next to the stadium and many restaurants. The rooms could’ve have been cleaner, there were stains on the floor, hair in the trash, and torn wallpaper. These didn’t disturb me too much. The thermostat wasn’t adjustable, the room was cool but not COLD COLD. I love my room to be freezing and it wouldn’t get below 69.

This was by far one of the best stays at an Embassy Suites that I’ve ever had. My bestfriend and I did a weekend trip to Texas for my birthday. The front desk staff were extremely nice, accommodating, and helpful. The valet guys were nice as well and the overnight female security was THE BEST. The room was spacious and very comfortable. We called for extra towels and they came very quickly. I will say that you have to request house keeping in advance if you want your room cleaned during your stay, in which we forgot to request but I’m sure had we called, they would’ve sent someone. We were only staying two nights so it wasn’t a big deal. Definitely will book here again if I come to Houston. Thank you for making our stay amazing :)

We were well taken care of. Rooms were clean, beds and pillows very comfortable. Staff was accommodating, particularly during the complementary Breakfast and Happy Hours. I will happily stay here, again, and will use other Embassy Suites as other events come up. Thank you!

I loved the spacious rooms and the hospitality of all the front desk and bar/restaurant. Our group felt very comfortable and were quite pleased with the accomodations. We would certainly stay here again and also partake of the scrumptious hot and made-to-order complimentary breakfast.

This hotel is in a good location, near Discovery Green and a number of restaurants and an upscale grocery store are nearby. Construction is going on next door which makes it hard finding the entrance. The two receptionists did not acknowledge me when I arrived and I had to wait 15 minutes even though there was only one other person checking in before me. The room rate is very reasonable given that it is a large clean room with a comfortable bed , and includes a very nice breakfast and happy hour. The hotel restaurant is well designed, spacious, with good food and nice views of downtown and far exceeded our expectations. The restaurant staff was very professional and pleasant.. Heresy Restaurant is on site also and my husband and I had a great time during their happy hour. Guests 2 doors down the hall from our room partied until 3 a.m. When I kindly asked if they could keep it down, (they were partying in the hall) one guest apologized but another yelled at me.

I typically stay at an Embassy Suite when I travel. I must say this was by far the nicest and friendliest. Not to mention the breakfast was great. If and when I come back to Houston, this is definitely where my family and I will stay. Thanks for the hospitality

From check-in to check-out I was very pleased with my stay. The staff was exceptional, breakfast buffet delicious, and room met all of my needs. I would definitely recommend.

Great place. This place is amazing. Very nice, shower door is amazing, it swings in or out and very solid. TV in front room and one in bathroom. Breakfast was amazing and had enough room for people to sit and was not crowed. My only issue was the tops of the table seems sticky I'm not really sure the rags were in soap and water when they wiped them down to disinfect.

You can't beat Embassy Suites for their spacious rooms and complimentary breakfast and social hour. The downtown location is starting to show its age (towel rack fell off the wall) but overall continues to be a good option for a hotel downtown. Right across the street from Discovery Green and a short block from Toyota Center. Valet parking was a bit pricey but our car was outside waiting for us each time we called for it. Staff was pleasant and courteous.
