Great location. Only two things you should know: the walls are PAPER THIN. I can hear my next door neighbor breathing. No seriously. Not snoring. Just deeply breathing. That's a bit much. Also, if you weigh over 150 pounds, using the toilet here will be challenging. For some unknown reason this hotel chose to put the tp holder right beside the toilet. Now, normally, that would be a great idea, except you cannot sit on the toilet without it being in your side. Literally, in l it will pierce into you. If you weigh anything over a super model size you will have to sit sideways on this toilet. There is a simple solution: move it to the other wall. I don't know how no one has mentioned this before but it's an actual issue. Otherwise, the hotel is nice, clean, and a great value.

Perfect location , breakfast was limited and after 4 days we where going out for breakfast, Maria at breakfast had an attitude her husband was there for breakfast one morning and she behaved like we where begging for breakfast, Isaiah and the other guy at reception are great, most of the ladies however are rude and unprofessional , the very best welcome we got as we got to the hotel was from the valet Edward , he was mannerly and very welcoming, Fatah was ok to, but basically the entire stuff there is very nosey and has you very uncomfortable, the rooms where clean and comfortable. Great hotel but all employee needs training in customer service

Location is perfect for waking and enjoy the fine dinning near by. Everything you need is waking distance. Only complaint I have is, if your a Gold or Diamond member , you will have a gift bag with only water inside.

Room wasn't very clean especially the bathroom shower. On top of the the room smelled like mold Or in general just had a funky smell of wetness or some sort. However the staff was very nice very kind very helpful. Breakfast was good but they could do better With the sausage and maybe add some bacon. That sausage was horrible though. The rest of it was good though. The pool was small but very cool very nice. The overnight parking of $50 a night is kind of ridiculous though. You think if you're getting a room and paying over a $150 per night, that at least the parking would come with. However it doesn't so we've prepared to pay a separate price for parking. Even though there were some things I did not agree with overall it was Okay. I think the staff And their kindness makes up for a big part of it being Not quite up to par with the price.

I had my wedding planned in downtown Houston but lost my venue. Being loyal Hilton members, we already had a few rooms booked at the Hampton Inn Downtown so with fingers crossed, I called the sales/event manager and asked if I could have a micro-wedding (20 guests) in one of their ballrooms followed by a 2-hour happy hour with appetizers and cocktails. Little did I know that I would meet Sophie and would have all of my wedding dreams turned into reality! Sophie was so professional, friendly, excited, communicative, constantly going above and beyond anyone's expectations, and at least 100 more magical adjectives that I don't have room to list here. She made sure my family staying overnight at the hotel were all on the same floor as the ballroom and helped with every step of the planning process. She even came in on her day off to be 100% sure that everything was perfect for us! I also have to give a huge thank you to Rey and his staff. Rey made sure that all the food and beverage service was impeccable. The food was set up in a lovely manner and was all super delicious! Drew, our bartender was friendly and made my guests feel comfortable during our happy hour. Drew made sure the champagne flowed and Rey made sure that everyone had food and of course, cake! We brought our own small wedding cake and brownie tower, but Rey's staff cut the cake for us and served it. It was the perfect micro-wedding and was cost efficient as well. If you ever get a chance to work with Sophie and her team, or Rey and his team DO IT!!! Many thanks to the whole Hampton Inn and Suites staff - every one of you made our day so incredibly special!

Holy cow is the staff terrible. First room the door wouldn’t unlock to let us in. Had to go back to the desk to get a new key. That still didn’t work. No big deal we got a new room….then…at 9am the next morning(after requesting and getting a late check-out) they start banging on the door to my room to check the smoke detector. They then come back unannounced again to replace it at 11. The do not disturb sign in the meantime is on the outside of my door this whole time. I’m exhausted from travel, trying to just get some rest. This place blows! Stay at the Hilton two blocks away instead. You’ll still get points but likely won’t have this circus to deal with!

Beds were very comfortable, desk and adjustable table for work in room was good. The slide out shelf extension between the beds and in the bathroom was a great touch! The bathroom has a narrow long toiletry shelf that ladies will appreciate! The counter top room is plentiful, the closet and safe appreciated. There are even portable cubes for extra seating! Great staff, great breakfast options - I highly recommend!

Great service is invisible. My stay was mostly seamless except for some rowdy neighbors whom the hotel ultimately kicked out that night. Because I prepaid my room they couldn't refund me but promised to send me enough Hilton Honors points to get a free night and ... Nope, never got those points, deducted one star.

No city noise or noise from other rooms. Extremely clean. Had to plug in refrigerator but everything was operating and no funky smells. Microwave. USB charging dock in each nightstand lamp. Breakfast buffet was HUGE and kept supplied and clean. Great stay and best price we could find. Valet parking is $40, which is the only way to utilize the hotel garage. Street parking was only $6 with app. We chose that. Discount for room when signing up for reward program. Astros Stadium directly across the street. Close to many entertainment venues. 3 miles from museums.

I was on a solo trip to Houston for work. This is a convenient location to the conference center and the stadium. Breakfast was provided during my stay, but I did not make it. I felt safe for my entire stay, and the rooms were spacious and quiet.

The rooms need to be updated. We found hair in the shower on the walls when we got there. Blood stained sheets and mattress pad. Very disappointing ☹️ we cleaned our own room for 3 days. I thought Hilton properties were better quality. The staff was very accommodating and customer service was a 5 plus.

The staff was terrible I has two separate reservations first guy I checked in with was okay Told me I could check out when I came back from breakfast at whatever time before 11 and check in right away for my next reservation next day rolls around I go down for breakfast around 6 let the extremely rude front desk employee know i’m checking out and checking back in and he says i have to pay a 75 dollar early fee?? which I wasn't aware of I go back to my room and come back down at 10:30 and check out and another guy i’m checking out with says he can check me right in no fee?? Im extremely confused at this point so I go back up to my room and house keeping is cleaning so we go back down to the lobby to wait we go back up clean room its ok but not much cleaner I noticed I left my earrings on the bed side table they were gone only people that went in the room were her me and my boyfriend I let the front desk know didn't seem to care that much I go out for my anniversary dinner come back ask about the earrings they say I have to come back tomorrow at 9 because thats when the head house keeper comes Tommorrow is the last day i’m there when i'm checking out i ask again they make another report very useless no help also the pool very salty Very rude staff not welcoming at all only some were decent rooms are alright elevators smell horrible and there employees steal

Staff members were friendly and attentive. The hotel rooms are fine. The place has an older feel to it but seemed clean- except for the slightly weird smell in the hallways. The lobby area was beautiful and the complimentary breakfast was great. Pet friendly

I didn't have room service for a 5 night stay. There was just decaffeinated coffee in the room. The breakfast areas were well kept and the food warm and changed often. The bar was welcome. Too bad it couldn't open for lunch. One set of doors was locked prematurely, with a sign that said it remains open until 11:00p.m. But it was closed several days when folks returned from a conference at 5:00 p.m. Too bad there's a labor shortage. The desk staff was fantastic.

Ivy and Marisol were so awesome! They sent a maintenance man up to my room who immediately changed a lightbulb in the bathroom. The valet team, whose names I sadly don't know, were very helpful. My truck battery died and they jumped my truck for me. The entire time I stayed at the Hampton Inn was a pleasure! I felt really important because of how accommodating everybody was! What made the whole experience even more exciting is the fact that most of the hotel patrons were there for the Red Hot Chili Peppers concert! Such a fun time!

I attended and hosted a two day meeting in the conference area at the hotel. The staff and Chef Rey were very accommodating and the food served for our meetings was very good. What an amazing food service and catering team of people that work there!

The room was very clean and comfortable. Valet parking attendants can improve by not having guests wait more than 10m before being acknowledged or helped. Overall, service was good and I will stay here again.

Great location! The rooms need to be cleaned better and updated. The front desk always seems busy and there is always a wait time. I've stayed several times and the rooms are not as clean as you would like for the beautiful location.

Checked-In Online and selected my own room requesting mobile key. Arrived at hotel at 1:30 (early for normal 3:00 Check-In). Woman started to give me a key and then looked at her computer, changed my room and said I needed to pay a $25 early check-in fee. I said I would just wait. Asked why couple next to me (working with someone else) are not being charged same fee. She said “Diamond members don’t pay that and you’re only Silver.” After other couple finished, I asked if they were Diamond and they said no. We left to walk and kill a little time. Got 5 min away and received email that my mobile key is ready with originally schedule room. So, she tried to charge me, I refused and then caught her in a lie when she tried to cover it up. Will never stay at this property again and it even leaves a bad taste for the Hilton brand that they would hire someone like her.

Booked room, which was apparently given away to others. I guess they "over booked", which makes no sense. Not sure why anyone would book more rooms than you have. So I got down graded to something other than what was booked. Front desk clerk told me, its a corporate thing there was nothing she could do, and had no further explanation. Manager called next day, she was nice, but was too late for my stay. Also, wifi wouldnt work and the water went was out for awhile when I needed to take a shower. Maybe this was just bad timing for my stay.

Perfect location for attending events at the Convention Center or Minute Maid Park. Rooms are clean and quiet, breakfast was very good. But the best thing about this hotel is the staff. The valets, Fatah, Adrian and Elizabeth are three of the kindest and most helpful people I have ever met. I misplaced my phone, and they went so far above and beyond to help me. I am so thankful for all of them.

Room had decaf coffee but no regular coffee , and only had 1 normal sized towel , although there was 2 of us and staying 2 nights…. Left all day the following morning and assumed we’d get a room makeover , but came back and still no towels , no coffee, and room was turned over 😔

Very nice hotel! However, there are no stairs apart from fire escape stairs that lead outside. It became kind of inconvenient on busy days when all hotel guests were trying to go down for breakfast or up at night. All in all, though, great service, excellent and clean rooms, friendly staff, and good food. I recommend staying here, as long as there isn’t a large event going on nearby.

There are no words to describe the degree of frustration I experienced during my first visit to this Hampton Hilton hotel in downtown Houston. The next day of our arrival this hotel was hosting hundreds of teenagers taking part in an exchange program among high schools of different countries. In our floor, two rooms were assigned to part of this group of young people and, unluckily, they happened to be just besides our room. They kept their doors open, with -at times- about twenty people in the same room, more than ten taking the elevator at the same time, and so many others around their rooms just sitting on the carpet and blocking the corridor. It was already past 9 pm when I called the reception asking to silence them somehow and, as the noise persisted, I had to go down in person to see what was going on. There were many youngsters by the reception, and they were so loud that we had to shout at each other -the receptionist and I- just to discuss the situation. I was told they were all over the hotel and that my request for another room would be useless. I made the point in telling them that all I needed was a room far away from the elevators as the traffic was certainly higher in that area, since the young people were constantly moving in and out. This is what the receptionist eventually did: he assigned a new room for us at a different floor and far away from the elevator, so my daughter and I could finally have some rest. At the time of my request at the reception, and as a sort of an excuse, the comment was made to me there was no way to avoid this situation. I do not believe that, since nowadays, we have the technology to allocate rooms in a way to avoid a situation like this going out of control. Even worst, by no caring about these details, the hotel management has made an implicit choice between hosting a large number of conflicting customers or keeping a more traditional clientele within the usual comfort norms. This is how I hesitate to lodge again with Hilton and, as a new Honors Member, I simply do not want to make use of a prepaid reservation for the current year for fear of spoiling my coming Summer vacation.

This was a wonderful place to stay. The room had an insanely amazing view at night! Staff was very nice, valet service was fast, breakfast had many options and they are pet friendly. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

The young man had a lot of cars to park for valet. Even though people were upset, I really felt sorry for him. He was very polite and thanked me for being so patient. An older man walked up at the end and started helping. There was a dance/cheer competition nearby, so there were a lot of people checking in, and there were a lot of people wanting to get their car to go get something to eat. There was an issue with my room. I walked downstairs and talked to Reggie. He apologized and handled my situation immediately. I would definitely stay here again. The staff made the stay great. My mom enjoyed the room.

This hotel is really great, management is very nice as well. I did end up being next to inconsiderate people who kept slamming doors and yelling, but Keith at the front desk helped us out when we told him about this. I will be back, maybe next time I will be able to enjoy my stay more. Beds are super comfy :)

It was a great hotel and a very welcoming stay. The employees were very nice and always smiling. They made our stay a good experience. The rooms were nice, clean and spacious. Plus, hotel location just walking distance from Discovery Green and Minute Made Park.

  • 3/5 Brandy B. 1 year ago on Google
My experience at this hotel was a solid “pleasant” experience. My room was not musty smelling like many of my coworkers rooms were. They are dog friendly, too, which alone earns 4-5 stars in my book. However, there were NO reasonable parking options. None. That’s insane… and also why I’m detracting a star. And the pool hours closed very early. Also no bueno. But the breakfast was solid and the bed was decently comfortable and the location in proximity to the convention center is unbeatable.

Make sure to use ʜoᴛᴇʟʙᴏʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking a stay. This web site will compare countless booking websites and normally will have prices much cheaper compared to others! Thank me later! This hotel is one of the most well known in this area. I have been coming here for a very long time. If you decide to stay here you will love it I'm sure! Great location in downtown Houston, valet parking is expensive but super convenient and efficient, Minute Maid park is a couple of blocks away which makes a great opportunity to catch a game or two hassle-free when staying here. Breakfast offering is limited but high quality and tasty. Rooms are outdated but spacious and comfortable. Recommended

A nice hotel that is near the convention center and walk able to a lot of other things in Houston. The elevators had issues about 80% of the time there. Compared to other hotels as well, the pool was pretty small. The service was always nice and room was very clean/nice, so overall, very enjoyable. They did also offer valet parking options and a nice continental breakfast. A little confusing which "Hilton hotel" you are at though.

I was pretty disappointed in my experience. The parking availability was terrible and I was locked out of my room for over an hour one day after I got off of work. I can understand that things may happen from time to time, but there was no apology or any for the inconvenience.

  • 4/5 Alyssa H. 1 year ago on Google
Rooms are great. Location perfect for what we are doing in town. However, there was only one desk person when we arrived with our large group among several other large groups. There should have been Simone else helping at the front desk. We did visit the pool, and it was darn near impossible to figure out how to get out of the pool and back into the hotel as there were no clear instructions on how to open the gate and door. The concession area is quite expensive, but door dash is pretty easily accessible, and hotel workers are used to dealing with the additional traffic. From our room on the 7th floor was quite a good view of downtown Houston which I appreciate.

We stayed 4 nights. I would give this a solid “ok”. Pros- clean, staff brings amenities quickly, breakfast is wonderful, staff is very friendly. Cons- “year round pool” was beyond freezing and perpetually shaded, room service was requested but never received, outrageously expensive parking, and WORST of all, the sheets did not fit the bed and continuously came off leaving the mattress bare. Gross. Normally we are a Marriott Brand and can’t say I’ll be making the switch to Hilton anytime soon.

Arrived around 8pm, had 2 rooms booked. Room one, okay. Room two, still dirty. Sheets tossed, towels piled up, trash on floor. Head down to the front desk to complain. Had to hear from the lady working about how the housekeeping was incompetent and when we explained how tired we were from our trip, it was followed up with, "I'm tired too." Fortunately, we were given new rooms. Were they clean? Well, they were cleaner. Had a musty smell and the carpet needed vacuumed. Also, only 1/2 roll of TP in the bathroom. Faucet in bathroom was loose. Had to make sure it was positioned over the bowl before turning on. Only reason to stay here is for the location. Valet was exceptional. Those guys were A+! I intended to stay at multiple Hilton/Hampton hotels over the course of our vacation, however I am rethinking that.

Great experience and would definitely stay again! Room was clean, spacious and very comfortable. Staff was very accommodating and free breakfast was DELICIOUS!! The location was perfect, close to what we needed and had lots of attractions within walking distance. Price was very affordable too!!

This was a good find at the last minute. The room was comfortable and had an outlook over the city buildings and lights. A good layout with separate bathroom. A good work area. Check in was OK, not overly attentive or professional. They took a credit card deposit despite the room being prepaid and later added additional charges although we made no additional purchases. Trying to contact Hilton account to query this was next to useless as an automated response is received by an unstaffed accounts area. Contact via email provided an automated response and this is still in dispute. Breakfast was good but brought down by eating off paper plates with plastic cutlery. I am an adult, not a five year old at a birthday party. I asked about recycling the items that could be and was told no problem just to put it all in the bin. They didn't get my concerns nor understand my questions. I asked how the waffle machine worked as I had not seen one before. I was told it was a waffle machine. I got that much. That didn't tell me how to use it. There is only valet parking but there is some street metered parking nearby. I quite liked this hotel although the experience was spoilt in part by the anomalies.

Everything was good in this hotel except breakfast. I was racially discriminated against by a hispanic glasses lady on duty at breakfast. I've been to many states in America, it's the first time I've been discriminated against because I'm a Muslim.
