Liked this place, the pasta was a bit overcooked in my opinion so id recommend to avoid that but everything else was good. The chowder and mussels were very good and the guiness pie was decent. The live band playing was definitely a nice touch and location is good for walks, sea views etc. Overall very good.

Fantastic food and drinks. My husband and I spent our wedding anniversary in Ireland and had dinner in this pub. A nice table near the fireplace, great food and very attentive staff - what more can you ask for. We had a great time after doing the cliff walk in December on a soft day 😎

Good service in a beautiful location. Also, atmosphere is great. We got the mussels and they were good, also the cajun calamari was good, the halibut and crab skillet not so much...But overall, a good visit. Oh, mashed potatoes were great!!

Although my plate of wings was notably half the size of my previous trip and the cost of the dishes have all significantly increased, the wings may still be one of the best in Dublin. The pints of Guinness were good also, but missing a bit of texture/ creaminess in the head. O’Connells now seems much more targeted towards tourist, but still recommended for a few pints if you can manage to get a table.

Fantastic pub with super lovely atmosphere! Located on the beach, within very close walking distance from the DART station. This place was recommended to us by a Dublin local and we were not disappointed! We decided to go for the fried Brie to start and then we both had the fish pie as mains - everything was super delicious! Great selection of beer, ciders and drinks and the staff were all super lovely and helpful. We happened to be there on a Sunday afternoon and were treated to live Irish music which was wonderful! We were lucky enough to be able to find a spot to eat by the bar, however the place was super busy, so I would really recommend booking in advance, so as to avoid any disappointments. Well done to all the staff!

Love this spot, I'm a regular since day one, finally putting up a review for a brilliant establishment. Great atmosphere, food is top quality and service levels can't be beaten. Felt safe during the restrictions, very compliant, hard 18 months for Simon and the great staff, keep up the great work. Special mention to A&A, Asia and April, exceptional staff, always work with a smile and their service levels are A1.

Lovely place to spend an afternoon. Listened to the folk music and ate some very good pub grub. Nice view of the harbour. There were a load of tables out side and it filled up pretty quick but throughout the few days we spent in Howth we went back a couple more times and still found somewhere to sit. I had the crab and haddock skillet with was great. Good selection of beer. I think it was about €25 per meal.

Delicious fish and chips. Staff was nice but not very attentive - kept us waiting multiple times. Also: 17€ for fish and chips is a little overpriced. Anyways good place to rest and enjoy the seaside atmosphere!

I always liked this pub. Lovely inside, nice food and probably the friendliest and most helpful barman in Ireland (chap with a big beard). Nice mixture of locals and tourists alike. And a nice fire for the colder weather. It reminds me of what Irish pubs abroad are trying to emulate but this is the real thing.

Went in for a quick pint after a swim in Balscadden Bay just around the corner. The sea was freezing, as usual, so had a lovely hot bowl of chowder. It was very tasty and warming. Guinness was great too.

It’s a good place to relax for a while after coming down from the Howth Peak :) I personally found it a bit pricey but the food was tasty 😊 The staff was very courteous and helpful. The best part is that they also provide heating if you sit outside. Which was comforting in a cold breezy weather 😊

I had the Brie fried cheese and the Caesar salad. The salad came with a good amount of chicken, which was surprising since it was only ~€14. The Brie cheese was good and very melty, but I think it also had some goat cheese in it, which I don’t really like. However, that’s on me for not asking, so it doesn’t affect my rating. Emmett and Simon behind the bar were great and service was nice. I wasn’t sure who was actually assigned to help me since all of the servers/bartenders would periodically check in with me. If I were back in the area I’d come back, but my travels will be taking me elsewhere!

everything awesome. The mussels were a little bit small but the sauce was very nice. We enjoy very much the seafood chowder and the rest of the food. Price and service very nice too.

A lovely pub lunch, our first in Ireland, and the bar was set high. I had my first Guinness also and despite the color, similar to the stouts my hubby drinks, it was good. The beef and Guinness casserole was a delicious stew accompanied by mashed potatoes. Hubby had Irish Lamb Stew. We love the food, the ambiance and the delightful staff.

The perfect place to stop before a hike. The food was better than expected for pub food and the service was fast and friendly. Wouldn’t normally order a chilli but so happy I did. The Guinness beef pie was incredible. Highly recommend both. Got 2 meals and 2 beers €45

We’ve booked a table for 8 people last night, we got seated in a perfect area upstairs where we could enjoy ourselves and have conversations without shouting over each other. Staff was excellent and very attentive, food was very good and so were the drinks. 10/10 for me.

They made vegetarian sandwich for us to accommodate the request. Chicken burger was tricky, over cooked a bit. But it is really good to go place

I went to oconnells yesterday. I don’t usually leave reviews but I had to. We were a group of four, and we all had seafood. The best I’ve had in a while. Not to mention the wonderful service, our waitress was very attentive. Worth going to Howth for. They have a great outdoor area for the summer, and even though it wasn’t very sunny we sat outside.

O'Connell beef pie was steaming hot and delicious. We ate outside. The outside is covered to protect from the rain. Nice view. Service and food were excellent.

😠 We've been going to Beshoffs for years now and have experienced its downfall in quality. Fish is good but the portion of chips is not as much anymore (especially on a busy day!). But today is the day that does it for me. I open the fish and chips we ordered with no chips on one of the order. Very di...
