Restaurant Fast food restaurant Indian restaurant

😠 Heard a lot about this restaurant so decided to give it a try, the only good thing we had was the dosa, papdi chaat and dahi puri, the service was horrible,we didn't get plates, plastic 7ware or water, the food just left on the table and we had to keep on asking for plates etc. The menu on the table... People often mention ordered, service, good, bhaji, great, taste, recommend, Honest, restaurant, rice,

Heard a lot about this restaurant so decided to give it a try, the only good thing we had was the dosa, papdi chaat and dahi puri, the service was horrible,we didn't get plates, plastic 7ware or water, the food just left on the table and we had to keep on asking for plates etc. The menu on the table too was dirty even though it was carry out menus, they don't even bother changing it. When we got disposable plates there was a used plate too with the clean one. The veg Manchurian was burnt and horrible. Would not recommend this place.UPDATE back to this place after a while, the food is still pathetic, the pav bhaji was a waste, the triple schezwan fried rice had hardly any rice but was filled with noodles,I could have ordered noodles if I wanted too, well I wouldn’t be surprised if I ordered noodles and got fried rice instead, would not recommend this place. The restrooms are also so bad. Fresh tissue rolls have been kept exposed, using this as a place of storage. HOW IS THIS EVEN JUSTIFIED ? Update: 08/02/23 - Ordered for a Dhai Puri and here’s what I got (puris, tomato and onion mix, curd, sev and potatoes mashed) May I know where’s the Tamrind and the Mint chutney ? How can your staff miss out on such crucial ingredients to a chaat ? - HONEST YOU’RE been SUPER DISHONEST WITH YOUR WORK !!

Cheap quality food ever!!!! I 1) Ordered a thali, gave me pre made store rotis, it wasn’t even made at the restaurant. They gave me from the package. When I complained about it, the owner is arguing. I have eaten out my whole life, I know the difference very well. 2) Ordered pav bhaji n some bhakri pizza and the quality was so bad, I couldn’t even eat it. The size and presentation sucked big time. And pav bhaji was so watery like a dal and the restaurant dint even send onions and lemon with pav bhaji. I hate this place and never ordering from here! They weren’t bad but suddenly they are the worst on Newark Ave.

I really like their bhakri pizza and literally went all the way to eat that. It is an Indian style pizza with lots of amul cheese. The best part about food here was the amul cheese. I kinda wish the place didn't smell a bit dingy and was cleaner. The food was overall quite delicious except the noodles which could be better. The bhelpuri was legit the best bhel puri I've had outside India. Highly recommend. I would highly recommend this place for take out but not for eating in.

Worst service ever seen! Their food was so bad! Their was hair in my sambhar and the owner didn’t even compensate in the bill! Owner wasn’t helpful at all. Very dirty place and not as clean and neat. Seems they don’t cook fresh!

Their food is pretty decent, however I recently learnt that they just use frozen stuff for some of their dishes. For example, I ordered samosas and when I questioned the waiter as to why did it take so long to arrive presuming it was made fresh, he informed me it was frozen. Definitely could make fresh food for the price the customers are paying, disappointing !!!

The only thing honest is the name, but the vada pav I order was anything but honest. The vada was 1/3rd the size of actual one. The red sauce was replaced with ketchup, really?

I was confused between bikanerwala and Honest. Having tried the former, I thought I'd give this a try. It wasn't as bad as the reviews said. However, it was not out of the world either. I had Pani Puri, the sweet sauce was good, the mint water was chilled however the potato filling was not great. My wife thought it had gone bad, I just thought it was tasteless (no salt or masala) the suji Puri were decent. The service was on point. The place is neat and well kept. No issues or complaints there. Will try other things next time to give a fair review to their food. Till then adios!

Food is average, ambience is average, service is average…. Everything average….. The first impression when you step into this restaurant makes you feel its soo clumpsy….. over crowded, no great ambience and the food is also very basic I am a big fan of Honest restaurant in edison, piscataway and nearby areas but this one was just average Try some other restaurants instead of this one

Just had pulao and noodles from Honest and found there was a cockroach in the noodles. I have launched an official complaint and I recommend anybody ordering food from here to inspect before eating.

Worst Indian food ever had, ordered Bahubali sandwich which was so dry and the patty was so cold that it is very hard to eat and ordered cholle bhature, where cholle was you can tell that they are directly from can. They just microwaved it. Not going again specially if you craving for Indian food. Manager was good as he gave us the refund of the sandwich but still not going again at all

Keep visiting here for the paav bhaji, very soulful. chaat dishes from menu are also very flavorful. Chinese dishes can be better , may be it wasn’t that good the day I have visited.

No reviews at all.. today I have ordered Pav Bhaji and there was cockroach 🪳 in the bhaji.. After which I got food poisoning, my throat hurts I got red rashes in my body and on my tongue and my face plus has to take off from my work for 2 weeks. Moreover it hurts my Sikh religion sentiments.. PLEASE DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS RESTAURANT AND I WANT THIS BUSINESS TO BE CLOSE so that no one hurts like me.

😣😤DISAPPOINTED TO THE CORE..🗣🗣😡 I dine in with my family yesterday. Table 10.. I ordered Veg fried rice with Manchuria - Rating 1/10 Pav bhaji - 8/10 Steamed idly - 5/10 Indian style pizza - 7/10 Honest special pizza - 7/10 Masala dosa - 5/10 Veg fried rice - Soaking wet, improperly cooked rice, half cooked Manchuria on top (Fried), Bland sauce taste.. Pav bhaji - is good according to my wife talk Steamed idly - my kid didn't even eat (ordered only for him though) Pizzas - my family said they are good, I ate a piece, I didn't like it though. Masala dosa - batter that used didn't taste good, I feel some other lentils powder also added, hard.. Chutneys 0/10, tomato chutney you can simply avoid better not to taste, Sambar was ok to eat to eat dosa.. All 6 items that I ordered were served in between 5-10 mi s window.. Quick service, because I understand they are always all tables full, they want to make it quick for the table to clear to accommodate next waiting people. Understandable But they got to put some attention on food prep, WORST PART I FEEL HERE IS, I GAVE CARD TO MY WIFE TO PAY BILL, I STEPPED OUT WITH MY KID, SHE PUT 15% TIP.. I WOULD NOT HESITATE TO LEAVE NO TIP TO THE ORDER....

Visited this place last summer and decided to come back since I was in the area. The Punjabi Thali is great, definitely a recommend from me. The two curries they have don't miss, and everything on the plate is worth it. I have also tried the Manchurian Gravy and Schezuan fried rice, both flavorful and tasty independently but not when combined as the flavors clash. The samosa chaat is also a classic but an optional try, not a must have. attentive service as well, but staff is busy at all times as well.

We got the masala pav with cheese and choley bhaturey. Masala pav was great, but the choley was okay, it didn’t taste authentic enough. I felt they used the gravy of some other curry for this. The bhaturey was great.

Went on a Saturday evening, no reservations needed as such, it is quite spacious enough. Got Chaat items like sev puri and pani puri. The presentation and taste both were average, not that great of a taste. Also got bhel and dahi puri, which was tasty.

If you want to have a taste of authentic Indian food, this is a great place to dine at. The best seller is pav bhaji. We also had dosa. Quantity is sufficient and tastes like home. A must try place for all indians out there!

Good quality 4* but, The staff has no idea how and whom to serve. They took order and serve to other table. The management is too poor and not at all responsible. I will never-ever visit this location, like I stoped visiting Clifton Honest. 🗑

Fried Masala Idly is a new addition to their menu and we enjoyed it. Quantity was also pretty good for one person. Tomato chutney seemed like it was fresh. Loved the experience overall. Recommend this place for vegetarians.

Worst service They are serving Overbaked rotis and incomplete thali after almost an hour of waiting and when we complaint for that they are simply saying it's closing time. You have to ask for spoon, glass, tissue and everything if you you want to get. The honest review for so called HONEST from my side is Zero star. Giving one star because there's no option for zero star. They do not care about the customer . Whether you like the food or not. If you complaint, they are simply returning they money . They are like eat it or get back your money How rude the behaviour is!

Ambience could have been better, I saw the bee flying by my food so I was a bit disappointed with that but other than that the food was great.

I've wanted to visit Honest for a while, and it did not disappoint. Ultimately, it's fast food but it is done very well and the service was great. Parking around the area is quite difficult though, so I suggest walking if you're able-bodied; Honest is near the Journal Square PATH Station.
