Great neighborhood place with great outdoor seating. We had a lovely late breakfast (served until 3 pm) the other day in beautiful spring-like weather (in February!). Very friendly service as well.

Ed & Mary’s is the real deal! Great food, great drinks, and the owners and staff are incredible people who genuinely care about their patrons and the community. They even host regular trivia and karaoke nights (some of which are occasionally for charity)! E&M’s is the epitome of quality neighborhood digs, that can easily become your second home. If you are in Jersey City, do not miss an opportunity to visit this gem. You will not be disappointed!

Bloody Marie's are amazing!! Definitely get the beef jerky for an extra $3 for a full experience. The fried chicken burger... a little disappointed that it was a grilled chicken patty and not fried chicken 😕 Brussel sprouts were good. Needed a bit of salat for my taste and perhaps fresh garlic. Always fresh garlic.. hehehe Would go back for a different bite. Staff is super friendly and fun!!! Thx

Ed & Mary's is by far the best bar in Jersey City and one of my favorite pubs anywhere in and around NYC. The owners are kind, generous, welcoming, and clearly actually like each other – and that comes through with how the staff treats their customers. As someone who moved to the area last year, I quickly found E&M's to be the only place in JC where I could reliably find a proper Guinness and good banter with the regulars. If you're a TouchTunes addict like me, this is a great spot to post up. Just please don't fast-pass me with something worse than the bangers I've already got in the queue! Some favorite food items include: Buffalo Wings (well done is best), the Market Salad w/chicken and bacon (sounds like a lot but trust me), the burger (if there's a better one in JC or Hoboken, I'd like to meet it), and the Cubano. Raymond, Rachel, Nina, Eric, and Dave are some of my favorite bartenders of all time. Colin's okay, too!

Came up from NC to play Bergen Catholic. Headed to the city to find authentic community bar. Found it. Loved the vibe and met a ton of cool people. Great experience. Fist bump Ed n Marys.

I love dining outside here! There are always lots of cute dogs hanging out and it’s a fun atmosphere overall. They have some great drag nights, too! Servers are super friendly, drinks are good, and food is decent.

Great food and awesome beer selection! A true cut above your regular "neighborhood bar". Ed, Mary and rest of crew want to and make it that way! It's been called " the most beautiful place in the world".

Cool and low key neighborhood bar with quality bar food. Had amazing mozzarella sticks, a super filling and fresh Caesar salad, and delicious pork belly tacos (on special). The staff was suuuuuuper friendly and sweet!! They even gave us a free drink because they were taking a pic of a drink! Can’t wait to become regulars!

The prices are super good and fair (a wrap was under $10) and the fries were awesome though a little salty and the buffalo chicken wrap was good but a bit small. A nice drink selection, too! Outside seating is first come first serve (just sit down) and you can’t reserve or call ahead, but we got pretty lucky. I enjoyed my buffalo chicken wrap and my ciders! The service was OK because it was so busy but I did appreciate not being rushed. Overall, I would come back here for a chill dinner with friends! I can’t speak to the inside seating, though, it seems super crowded on a Friday night.

The staff is very friendly and you don’t feel awkward here at all. This place has a dart board, video games, and a full bar. The only reason I didn’t give this place 5 stars is because in my opinion their food tasted kind of burnt but their prices are great. This place has outdoor and indoor seating and I would recommend going here for the bar with your friends but maybe not just to have lunch.

Lovely neighborhood bar/restaurant - great for coffee, a quick lunch with friends or to watch any sporting event, specially European ones. Great service, very friendly and talkative waiters/waitresses. Amazing food: try the quesadilla, followed by a burger with their delicious fries or go with the chicken tenders. A must-visit when in the area 5/5!

They had a big board sign in the corner about their beer on tap. We went in and they had not a single beer on tap: only cans and bottles. We ordered a vegan burger, some cauliflower bites, and fish and chips. The burger was served cold, with a still frozen center. The cauliflower bites were way oversalted. One of the fish pieces had some weird cartilage-like, inedible tissue inside. Fries were really good, but that was a total waste of $40 to get some good fries, no beer, and a bunch of terrible food we returned or didn't eat.

Friendly neighborhood place with good sandwiches, solid tap list, and great outdoor space. Very dog friendly on the patio. Super friendly service.

When I’m having a beer at Ed & Mary’s my life is on pause (In a good way). This bar has created an atmosphere that is comforting, fun, relaxing, but at the same time you feel like you are somewhere unique and special. Ed & Mary’s is the bar you take your friends that are visiting from out of town and the place you’re excited to go on Fridays after work. Watching the Argentina versus Netherlands game during the Qatar World Cup is a locked in “Jersey City memory”. Definitely recommend.

The true Cheers of Jersey City! A gem establishment that has built one of the most fun and involved communities you could find. Trivia, Karaoke, and the dance party's for no reason are always a blast. Im a big fan of the chicken wings and perfect pints of Guinness

Came here for the first time the other day and had a good experience. One of the nice things about this location is that they stay open later than most other place in the immediate area. Old school ambience, and the place is small but the food was great, the prices were very affordable and fair, and the bartender Nina was a sweetheart and very helpful. A spot I recommend visiting and will likely come back to.

The Bloody Mary with the beef jerky was really good. Probably the best beefy jerky I’ve ever tasted; ended up getting some to-go.

I really loved this bar because I live locally and wanted to make it my regular spot. But due to how I was treated by both of the male bartenders I will no longer be coming here. The male bartenders are extremely rude. When I was here last week I ordered a dirty martini and both times the one male bartender made it for me there was zero alcohol in the drink, had complained to the waitress (who is amazing btw!) and she re made my first one for me and it was delicious and how a dirty martini is supposed to taste. However, after she left for the night I was forced to order again with the male bartenders and the same thing happened, water and olive juice. I went up to the bar to complain / ask for a new drink and the male bartender who made it was beyond disrespectful and quote told me to "speak up" and "use my words". Will no longer be giving this bar my business due to the disrespectful male bartenders.

Ed & Mary’s was a really cool spot. No frills local bar with good beer and nice bartenders + a dart board which seemed to be liked a lot amongst the group. Was a very easy going bar with a casual vibe. Great spot in JC. Seems like it has a good bar food brunch too. Will have to try it next time.

Atmosphere is great but often loud if you want to have a conversation. People were having fun and generally in a good mood. Owners cool and care about their customers. Food is very mediocre.

Drag bingo every third Tuesday from 7-9 is so fun. It’s relaxed and chill and exciting. They have those old school bingo cards where you pull down the plastic, so fun and no extra cost. Harmonica, the host, is really great. The food and drinks are tasty and a good price. $12 for a chicken sandwich, $7 for 9 mozzarella sticks. The bar tenders are really busy but very attentive. I was greeted with a big hello when I came in. Bingo started on time. There were 6 rounds and it lasted until 845. It was a great end to a Tuesday! It’s a cozy bar inside and they also have outdoor seating, but if you want to do bingo it’s inside.

If you've watched enough sitcoms of friends hanging out at a bar of choice, this is that bar. A neighborhood gem, the kind of bar where you know the people that go and the owner that's often behind the counter himself. The food isn't bad by any means. In fact, it's actually quite good. That being said, you didn't come all the way here just for the food, you came for their handcrafted cocktails, warm ciders full of flavors like cinnamon and other spices, and the Guinness that the staff learned how to pour properly in Ireland because the owner sends them there once a year.

I went here on a whim and got a Cubano. I was really disappointed the sandwich was not pressed, the ham in the sandwich was those with other fillers, not the real ham. The side salad was just plain chopped up lettuce with dressing splashed on it. I could see it is a beloved local hangout spot but the sandwich I got was not good and I won’t go there again.

We love coming to Ed & Mary's. They have good selection of food and beverages. Even our dog loves this place.

I stopped in during a visit to Jersey City. My preference is always local restaurants. It was fun to stop in at this local bar to have a couple beers and bite for dinner. This place reminded me of the sitcom Cheers. The bartender appeared to know everyone that came in.

Adorable corner bar, just the right amount dive-y. They make a real good cocktail (the actual cocktail menu isn't particularly interesting, but they do all the classics well), solid beer selection, and great vibes :-)

Beautiful decor, very homey and old fashion. Didn't get to experience anything else. Server took way to long to attend to us we just decided to leave and come back another time maybe. I work in the industry and 30secs is the most someone should wait for a server. Would of put 5 stars cause I had such high hopes. May have been a busy day and I understand but some communication would have been great. Or maybe the bartender could of helped a bit too. Please, to everyone reading this, don't hate this place I just wanted to be honest about my visit.
