Came here on a Friday night, Great place that I highly recommend that closes late with a kitchen that is still open. ●Very nice Caribbean restaurant in jersey! Loved the ambience and atmosphere. Staff were attentive. Place was full/packed...but the host found us a spot right away. Loved that. ●Great live dj! Great music playing. ● Inside and outside dining available ●The jerk chicken mac and cheese was delicious! Definitely recommend. ●The curry goat had a lot of flavor but it had a lot of fat & bones..if you're into that, Great, but I wasn't pleased... ●I personally wasn't a fan of the espresso martini &/or the spicy watermelon margarita. My friends got the ●the oxtail , it was very good ●The ribs were good & came with mac and cheese. ⭐Important: Make sure you look at the check carefully. In the check , the gratuity is included. There's also a cash vs credit card price difference, depending on what you prefer. Cash is obviously cheaper. ●So we did cash, and the waitress asked if we need change. I said yes. Because we paid the full price with gratuity included. Once she brought the change, we were still conversing, so we didn't touch the money/ change on the table. A few minutes later, she comes back and takes it... that was beyond shady.... & i didn't say anything....but wow...be aware.

Such good food. We were told everything in detail. Beautiful place and the service was amazing. The lady that was serving us was very accommodating and polite. Great restaurant. I can’t wait to come back.

The food here never disappoints. The jerk chicken is my absolute favourite! I never get cocktails but here I always get the hot Stepper, amazing cocktail! They always have a live Dj which makes it more fun. My fiancé is vegetarian and they have a couple Of good options, but she always gets the chick pea curry and loves it! Hands down the best Caribbean food in jersey city! Oh one more thing, I was here On a Thursday and they had $8 rum punch specials!

2nd time visiting. For appetizers we had corn soup with the right amount of spice and jerk chicken egg rolls. For dinner we had escovitch snapper, jerk chicken, jerk chicken with mac & cheese, slaw & pumpkin rice. Drinks were sorrel sangria. It was all good. Service was quick and on point. Music was all variety. I had a great time celebrating my birthday weekend there. I made a third trip added more pics. We had salt fish fritters, coconut shrimp, sheperds pie and jerk chicken.. washed all down with 2 rounds of sorrel sangria.. Yum..Nothing was disappointing about this place the bathrooms are well maintained as well.

I've been here years ago and recently went back for dinner on Saturday night. Can't say enough about what a great experience I had here. The food was amazing and the "sorrel not sorry" was my favorite drink. The staff were all friendly and the service was on point. They had a dj who playing great music for a Saturday night dinner. My favorite was the jerk chicken egg rolls, coconut shrimp and the passion fruit pana cota.

This place had a different vibe from what I had gathered from the website. Nonetheless, the food portions were large and the food was tasty for a pub. However, the service was horrible. It wasn’t even busy while we were there and our waiter barely paid us any mind. Our food took over 45 mins to get to us, and our waiter never came to ask if we were okay or wanted more drinks. The food is fresh which I appreciated, but the service really turned us off. The drinks were also really good. Also it’s only street parking, so you may have to circle around the block for a while to find parking. They won’t seat you until your entire party is there which I get, and most places have the same policy. But if the service is so bad, why does it matter? They also had a 3% charge if you pay with a credit card. So if you want to avoid the fee, bring cash. And 20% gratuity is added for a party of 4 or more with a bill over $100.

Good Caribbean cuisine. Must try - Jerk Egg Rolls, Goat Curry. Coconut Rum Punch and Pina Colada were refreshing, too. Pets are welcome :)

This has instsntly become one of my new favorite spots. The food, music, service, & energy is just perfect. I have tried the jerk chicken egg rolls, shrimp roti quesadilla, codfish fritters, curry chicken, peri peri shrimp, & escovitch fish. EVERYTHING tastes amazing!!! FULL of flavor!!!! My favorite starter is the codfish fritters!! They are bomb!!! The curry chicken is my favorite entree. It warms the soul. The drinks here are also very well-balanced. The coconut Rum punch is euphoric. Even the house-made ginger beer was tasty. Do not walk, RUN to this establishment. Special shoutouts to our server Paul who gave stellar service.

Had a delicious dinner here with friends. The host was so kind and held our table for us although we were a few minutes late. Drinks and food were top notch and so flavorful. We had the Jerk Salmon, Jerk Chicken, coconut shrimp, plantains, and more. It was all delicious. The vibe was fun, with a DJ on a Friday night but not so loud, you couldn’t have a conversation. We had a great time and service was very good! We’ll be back !

Was running around in NYC and decided to stop here on our way back home. We had an amazing time. Ambience was nice and our server Horacio was helpful. For food we got the Mac n cheese with jerk chicken. The flavor was delicious. The chicken was a bit chewy but overall flavor of the dish was delicious. Then we got the oxtails and the shrimp curry dish with roti bread. Those was delicious. We were so full we had to take the rest home. Drinks we wanted to get a pina colada but the machine was broken so we went with the coconut rum punch and a Caribbean sorrel. Only other gripe is they auto add 20% gratuity to all checks even though we were only a party of two. That’s fine as we were planning to tip anyway but that should be communicated ahead of time and also is a weird service practice.

From the moment we walked in to the last bite we had a great time. The peri peri shrimp was fantastic. The sauce is the star of the show though, so so so good. Cocktails were refreshing and perfect for a hot day too. And the service was awesome. Will definitely be coming back to taste more

Delicious jerk chicken and oxtail. Not greasy (which is great) and so tasteful. The jerk chicken egg rolls were also surprisingly light and tasty without the greasy feeling. Coming back here for sure!

This was our second visit. Food was pretty good & drinks were amazing! The manager was kind enough to let us sample their pumpkin rice since we've never had it before. I wasn't a fan of the mac & cheese but my friends enjoyed it. No parking lot but street parking is available. I recommend this establishment and would definitely visit again.

Group of 5 of us went here for dinner Saturday evening. They have indoor a d outdoor seating. The drinks and food were all good. We wanted nachos, but they couldn't make them (guess they ran out???). Everything else was delicious. We got the coconut shrimp, egg rolls, wings, curry chicken, ox tails, curry goat and quesadillas.

I have been looking forward to trying this restaurant out for a while now and my husband and I finally got a chance to and I must say they did not disappoint. I enjoyed everything from the warm greeting we received before & after we entered to the pleasant atmosphere. I appreciated the quality and the presentation of the food and the icing on the cake was the taste, the food was Good. I could eat a pot of the pumpkin rice by myself and the plantains were delicious. Overall, great experience we will be back and I've already recommended it.

The music is very loud! Everyone in the restaurant is screaming to hear one another. We waited over 40 minutes to be seated when we had a reservation, which I was understanding of, however the other events of the night ruined the experience. Our main courses lacked flavor and my curry chicken originally came out without chicken, which the waiter had to go back to the kitchen to fix. Lastly I paid the original check in cash and gave tip and asked for the waiter to only give me $5 so they could keep the rest as tip. She came back and gave me a completely different check which was $25 more then my original check. I told her the check she handed back was incorrect which she proceed to say “no this is what you ordered everyone around you has a check way more expensive than $116.” I don’t know what that had to do with our bill, and it seemed unprofessional to say. After giving it a second glance she realized there was an item on there that we did not order and fixed the check and gave me a check that was was $3 less than the first original check I paid. We left after that but this establishment needs to work on customer service and money management. I still gave a tip of 30% despite all this but I won’t be going back or recommending this place. I usually never leave reviews but this was such a disappointment.

Atmospheric place for dinner. Jerk salmon was so good! Be careful with their cocktails: delicious but strong. It might be a bit busy during lunchtime.

Such a vibe! The atmosphere, music and cuisine. The jams were hopping and you felt transported away to the island. Started with juicy, coconut shrimp which were hearty and packed with coconut flakes. Dinner was the Vegan Stew Peas, which was filling! It was a tasty and rich stew with flavor. Last but certainly not least- the Yuzu Nice cocktail was light, sweet and citrus. It was a delightful complement to the meal. So good I admit to having 2 🫢 Go for the food PLUS environment. Overall experience —meal and vibe is a MUST!

The rum punch is good. The oxtails are not what I expected for the price. Mac and cheese was good. Coconut shrimp was very good.

Let’s do this the simple way: Sorrel Sangria: 8.5/10 - Was strong and tasteful! Wish I got to try the jerk chicken eggrolls, but got these dishes instead: Roti Jerk Shrimp Quesadillas: 8.5/10 - Tasteful, but nothing WOWing to me. Scotch Bonnet Honey Wings: 8.5/10 - Didn’t have enough scotch bonnet flavoring for me, but I tasted the honey. Coconut shrimp: 9/10 Jerk chicken meal: 9/10 - Tasty, filling, juicy, tender, flavorful, wasn’t hot enough for me in terms of temperature though. Rice that came with it was super fresh. Oxtail meal: 10/10 - Perfection. A bit pricey for the portion though tbh. Vegan Stew Peas: 10/10 - They nailed it. Lobster mac: 7/10 - Not enough flavor to me. Overall, great stop. Super great staff and service! Will definitely come back to try more dishes.

Awesome atmosphere. Beautiful hospitality. We went on a Sunday. The presentation was delicious and the food was fresh, hot, with the taste of the food 😋. We also ordered 🍸 drinks. Applause 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 to the mixologist for preparing the drinks just right. We will be back.

Jerk chicken and Mac & cheese was a great combination. Cole slaw was done well as well. As for the drinks, the old fashioned tasted a tidy bit stronger than usual. The cocktail, watermelon Jalepeno margarita is a must try. The place is a little small inside but they do offer plenty of outdoor seating. Atmosphere was perfect. Visit them and you won't be disappointed.

This is a hidden gem in Jersey City. Though I have dined in multiple times, my most recent experience with take out was so delightful I had to share! First, I’d like to say that the staff is so friendly and helpful with the menu items which ensure the perfect lunch or dinner every time! The jerk chicken Mac and cheese is creamy and delicious, the coconut shrimp is fried to perfection, and the double braised oxtail is packed with flavor and nearly falling off the bone. Side note, there are live performances sometimes, making it a perfect date night or place to gather with friends and family.

This is the best Jamaican spot in jersey city, matter of fact this is the best Jamaican spot I've ever been to. The service is amazing and the food, ohhhhhh the food. That jerk chicken is money. That curry goat is just as delicious. The drinks are amazing too. I'm definitely going again and won't stop going.

Ordered Jerk chicken, Ribs, Chicken curry and Radica chicken, Rum cake and banana desert Overall, the food is decent. Nothing stands out but nothing went wrong. I would recommend there ribs, they are the best of the lot. The ambience is good, there is outside sitting too. The service is great.

Outside dining, beautiful atmosphere, I had curry chicken with pumpkin rice. Pumpkin rice first timer....it was delicious. Curry chicken, perfectly seasoned , not overly spicy...with just a tiny kick! And as we dined a live band played various reggae, and smooth sound hits. A+, definitely will go again.

Easy 5. Was eyeing this place from day one visiting friends here. Finally got to visit on the last day in and I am really happy with our time here. The atmosphere was very Caribbean, had a live DJ Saturday evening, wait staff was fast, and the food/drinks were real good. I got the rum punch and jerk chicken as my entree. The drink was pretty refreshing. The Jerk Chicken was very fall off the bone and tender meat. I was amazed at the quality of the meal for how quick the service was. I also tried the rum cake and it was a bit dry. Was sad they didn't have guineas ice cream during my visit, would have loved to give it a try. Don't snooze on this restaurant. It's a must-see in this area and an asset to Jersey City. If not for the food, for the friendliness and care put into everything the employees do.
