A wonderful dining experience from beginning to end. Warm ambiance. Family atmosphere. Inviting, friendly, and attentive staff. The food is exquisite! The drinks divine. The desserts provide the finishing touch. Probably the top German dining experience in city center!

My wife and I made reservations to Gaststätte Spinnrädl for Valentine's Day. The server was very helpful and made the evening very pleasant. She recommended a wine that each of us would like which sounds basic, but she was spot on. I ordered the spinnrädl pfännchen which was very delicious and filling without being too heavy. For dessert I ordered the sweet tarte flambée with apples, banana, cinnamon, and sugar to share with my wife. It was basically a thin, dessert pizza but light, crispy, and very good. I fully recommend either dish or dessert on your visit. Prices are friendly as well with drinks, dinner, and dessert totalling only €45. You will not be disappointed. We will certainly visit again.

Great food, great service, and a great atmosphere. Normally this place is busy so sometimes you may get lucky as a walk in, other times, it is best to make a reservation. This is the second time we have eaten here and both times were great. The pizza was nice and light with a good crunchy crust and the pork medallions with gravy sauce was great. The pumpkin soup they had was just fantastic. Not to salty with an amazing creamy flavor. We will continue to dine here.

We had a casual business dinner and enjoyed every bit of it. You could feel the history while you sit there.. Could not have asked for a better place to eat.

The authentic German experience we were looking for in downtown Kaiserslautern. We asked our waiter for a traditional experience so after our meal, he brought out the digestive they enjoy after their meals which was a hazelnut schnapps and it was delicious. The beer selection was of course delicious, the food was amazing and it was very American English speaking friendly. Loved the house this restaurant was in! Our group loved every part of this experience and yes it's not customary to tip but Justin was so friendly and helpful he all chipped in!

Great German restaurant. The place is cozy and it feels authentic. The food is great! They make the most delicious liver dumpling soup. (I don't like liver but his soup is on another level. ) The broth is so savory that it soothes your soul.

The place is nice and was recommended by colleagues who works at Kaiserslautern. The stuff is friendly and cool. a small minus the tightness in the middle of the establishment, there are tables outside but in good weather there is no chance of taking one :)

The restaurant provides good regional and traditional food -- even written in the many with the local spoken slang. The staff is friendly. The restaurant’s building is a historic one.

The food was amazing, the service was super. We had dinner for 32 students (basketball players) and because the experience was great we went back for another dinner. I could eat there everyday. 👍

We have been here twice and both were great! Very popular place so make a reservation. They speak great english and are very helpful. I had the spinach dumplings. I do understand that they mostly serve traditional german cuisine but it would be nice with one more vegetarian dish that is something other than pasta. Good wine selection, nice seatings both indoors and outside.

One of my favorite places to take people who are passing through Ramstein/KMC for great traditional German cuisine and atmosphere. The Spätzle and Carrot are phenomenal. The interior looks pretty classic with a lovely tiled stove heater and old spinning equipment for decorations. The exterior is a Fachwerkhaus style which typically impresses. And, as is often the case, don't be surprised if the staff speak better English than you.

Great restaurant in a lovely old building. Outdoor seatIng, friendly staff. Enjoyed a nice glass of Riesling, rump steak and spätzle, and a delicious apple strudel with creme anglaise.

This was a great little find. Not too busy and had seating indoors/outdoors. We orders the Goulash, spinach dumplings, and the sesame cheese salad. Everything was very flavorful. We started off with the Sundowner Wine. This was perfect chilled for a warm summer evening. Fantastic option out server suggested.

As an American abroad, I deeply appreciate the warm welcome from all the staff. I speak German but they were all fully comfortable with English. Spinnrädl-Pfännchen is my go-to but I have never had a bad meal here. Always get a liter of Hacker-Pschorr and life is good. Thank you for some of the best times in Kaiserslautern!

Myself and a few co-workers decided we wanted authentic German food for lunch and boy did we find it here! The atmosphere was inviting, the service friendly and prompt, and our server Max was an awesome host! I had the pot roast with gravy, red cabbage, and potato dumplings.. and it did not disappoint. We definitely plan on going back 👍

A meal at Spinnrädl is a guaranteed winner. Whether it’s the regular menu, the local specialties, or the seasonal menus, my wife and have had nothing but consistently great experiences at Spinnrädl for the past five years. The servers are always warm and friendly, and they really do care about their customers’ experience. The produce is invariably fresh and crisp, the food is always delicious and perfectly prepared, and the decor and ambience are charming. Today’s meal was no exception. Normally, when someone’s goose is cooked, it’s a bad thing; however, today I am very happy to say that my goose was cooked… to perfection. I have come to expect this from Spinnrädl around the Holiday season, and I have yet to be disappointed.
