Checkin
was
the
worst
experience
since
the
work
load
overwhelmed
the
staff
at
Courtyard
by
Marriott
New
York
Manhattan.
Last
time,
at
least
it
was
reasonable
as
it
was
new
years
eve
and
the
lobby
was
packed
with
people
for
hours,
but
this
time
it
was
just
us
vs
4
hotel
staff.
I
asked
for
checkin
but
mentioning
my
name
was
useless
and
I
had
to
use
a
touch
screen
terminal
to
search
my
booking.
The
UI
was
not
very
responsive
and
after
I
typed
my
name
one
letter
after
another
using
a
touch
pen,
I
got
the
merciless
“not
found”.
I
tried
and
the
result
was
always
the
same,
again
and
again.
I
asked
the
staff
and
the
solution
was
I
had
to
wait
them
to
do
something
after
the
input!
Then
the
magic
happened
and
I
could
go
to
the
next
page,
which
is
a
form
about
address
etc
of
us,
supposed
to
be
filled
with
the
same
brilliantly
efficient
touch-pen-one-letter-a-time
method.
After
all
these
process
there
was
the
payment
method
selection
screen.
I
selected,
and
replied
to
the
staff’s
question
about
what
I
have
selected
multiple
times,
and
they
tried
to
charge
with
a
wrong
method.
What
is
the
point
of
that
lovely
screen?
After
all
these,
congratulations,
the
card
key
is
ready.
Explanation
about
breakfast
location?
time?
checkout
procedures?
of
course
no.
Then
another
confusing
moment,
one
is
expected
to
choose
only
one
free
amenity
from
a
shelf
of
goodies,
strictly
one
piece
per
head
count.
Then
a
few
meters
away
there
is
another
shelf
of
goodies
one
can
take
as
many
as
it
is
needed!
So
in
summary
if
your
name
is
longer
than
a
single
letter,
or
your
address
is
longer
than
a
city
name,
or,
well
you
don’t
enjoy
hassle,
you
have
every
reason
to
avoid
this
hotel.
And
if
you
found
there
are
more
than
4
people
waiting
to
checkin
before
you,
treat
your
self
to
a
full
course
meal
because
you
just
got
maybe
2
hours
to
wait!
The
proximity
of
the
hotel
to
the
station
allured
us
to
book,
but
after
this
unforgettable
experience
we
will
never
stay
in
this
hotel
and
of
course
any
of
the
Hankyu
group
hotels
as
we
had
enough
of
this
innovative
stress
test.
