Great location, but lacking soul and a modern touch. Pros: Huge hotel - probably used mostly for business. conferences and the like. The usual comfort of a 5 star hotel. Very large rooms for Japanese standards. Very good breakfast. The best about the hotel, however, is the location - very close to the lively harbour area and the Kobe earthquake memorial. Issues: Design feels a little dated, 1980s charm. We went for dinner to the internation restaurant and the experience was not pleasant. The girl serving us was extremely nervous and seemed to be under a lot of pressure. The food was way overpriced for what it was.

I stayed here for three nights to attend a conference. The hotel itself is quite old and a little sterile, yet it is well maintained and my room was large & comfortable. The views across the harbour from the 24th floor were really nice, particularly at sunrise. A courtesy bus connects the hotel with Sannomiya Station, but there are other restaurants and shops within walking distance. I was disappointed with the bar closing at 10:30, which felt too early. Also breakfast was very crowded. Overall though this is a good hotel.

We are in a 5 day tour of Japan and this our first hotel stop. I hope the next hotels are as good as this one. This hotel is fantastic. It is one on my best experiences so far and it will be hard to top it unless I spend 10 times the amount I have spent on this one. It is clean, spacious and the staff is professional and friendly, top notch. I will recommend it to all my friends and will definitely stay here again if I am ever in this city.

Nice when I drove up to the entrance I felt like I was in a classic Japanese movie and with the Go To Travel campaign I knew I was getting a deal but the room and view is quite nice and I have Breakfast included so I look forward to the morning as well as a Noon checkout time. I can enjoy the Harbor area and maybe nap before my departure.

Great hotel. Much quieter than Osaka and Kyoto. Easy access to both cities by train. My room is very nice and international large size. Staff are very kind and friendly. Breakfast buffet was very nice. They have a shuttle bus between JR San nomiya Sta. and hotel every 20 mins. Walking distance to shopping areas and tourist spots. I heard the Japanese Emperor stayed at this hotel in late 2022. True 5 star hotel.

It’s not quite convenient for tourists unless you do drive the car. Although the hotel has shuttle, it takes quite some time getting to the JR station. And you can barely walk near the hotel. The view is good, but unless you would stay in the hotel forever, I still prefer those near stations.

Great hotel with good service. Stayed here for a few night for wedding over the weekend near by. It is within walking distance to peer and short walk to train station. People who say it's far are probably not used to walkable cities. Taxi from shin Kobe is under 2000円. Checked in is at 3pm like every other Japanese hotel that I stayed. Others probably didn't research beforehand. Stayed on 24th floor bed was big, view was great, and bathroom was bigger then most other Japanese hotels. I had no issues with staff or with baggage. Everyone was very nice to me and very helpful. I do know conversational Japanese though. Was able to get room at steal price a lot cheaper then the other Western chains. So definitely worth the value.

The hotel is in a great location. The service is 5 ✨. The staff was attentive and kind. The room we were in was a little outdated, but only a minor inconvenience, it was still very clean and comfortable. We are definitely coming back and I highly recommend this hotel.

A fantastic Beautiful hotel. Walking into the lobby felt so open with a view of a small pond and garden. Room was nice with a great veiw. A shuttle bus comes often to the hotel to pick up residents and taking them to the city just outside the train station. Breakfast was delicious, with a large range of foods to choose from at the buffet. Overall was a great hotel to come back to after a long day of walking and exploring Kobe/Osaka.

Good: 1. Excellent views facing harbour. 2. Cleanliness. 3. The best shower water pressure experience ever. 4. Free shuttle service to Sannomiya station multiple times a day. 5. Service staff are very professional and friendly. 6. Kids' play area. Bad: 1. Mediocre noise isolation in rooms. 2. Very noisy late night engine sounds coming from harbour (sounds like street car racing). 3. Shuttle bus would not allow luggages to be stored in baggage compartment during transport. All luggages (including large heavy ones) must be carried up a flight of stairs onto the narrow seat deck of shuttle cabin. Overall, I would still recommend this hotel.

High standard hotel. Great staff and service. Good view from the room even with a renovated port tower. Walkable distance to the shopping area but can also take taxi as they are available right in front of the hotel lobby. I forgot my stuff in the room and the hotel was so helpful and support in mailing the package to me in another city. So thankful for their support.

Very nice hotel with good views and very good buffet breakfast. Hotel is very close to shops and water front restaurants and nice area for evening walks. Staff are very friendly. The only downside is that the gym is not free, the cost for a workout and sauna is the same as a months membership in uk.

Like the long-established hotel @ in Osaka, the hotel in Kobe is「Okura Kobe」. The dining, customer service, hotel shop, employee level and "OMOTENASHI" are the best and have a sense of security. Recommended it only for those who understand real "OMOTENASHI". Perfect!

Great hotel, next time would book directly from their website. Free shuttle service from main stations - would have been nice to know this prior to arrival. Staff speaks English and high quality of service. Would recommend it.

Good location, great view. A bit old designed. No information about the free shuttle. Extra charge for baby bed.

28th floor magnificent view of the port. Comfortable bed, pillows were excellent very happy with the size of the room and the hotel staff were so professional esp the younger ones. All controls for blinds lights and air con next to bed side table. One of the best hotels Ive ever stayed in

Good hotel with spacious and confortable rooms. Nice views on the port. Good service and the building itself is impressive and beautiful. Flaws : everything is an extra you have to pay (gym, pool...) and it’s a bit far away from the center / restaurants / bars. Nice experience overall though.

Lovely older hotel with great views. Room was large..upgrade offered but refused here overnight. Buffet breakfast was included and satisfying. Room toiletries were many and quaint. Bed was scrumptiously comfortable. Do get a view of the water. My jetlag ensured we saw our cruise ship, Diamond Princess dock before sunrise.

Since it was the Christmas season, it was inevitable that the price would be high, so I stayed in the Authentic Floor Deluxe Sea View Twin Room. As soon as I checked in and entered, long hair came out from under the bed blanket (no one in my group had long hair). And the blue cushion on the bed was stained like that even though it wasn't used. I think that there is a difference between an old hotel and poor cleaning. It would be nice if they paid more attention to cleaning as expected from a hotel. I don't think I will visit again.
