For my second time to Kobe, i decided to try another Kobe steak restaurant. A friend who lived in japan recommend this place. I found their menu very similar to the other places I've visited. We ordered the Special Selected Kobe Sirloin 250g set. As you can see in the photos, their quality of steak was exceptional. The chef was friendly and cooked the steak to my liking - a perfect medium rare. Of course, no Kobe steak is complete without their signature garlic fried rice. They use the trimmings of your steak (fat and all) to make the garlic fried rice. The cost of this meal wasn't as high as i originally thought and felt it was quite fair.

Food Taste - 3/5 Ambience- 3/5 Cleanliness -3/5 Worthiness - 2/5 Hospitality & Staff Behaviour - 4/5 Beef was not cooked properly... Desserts and chicken items were good.... location: very good locality close to railway station. It's a nice place to catch up with family and friends however there is a lot of room for improvement...

After stopping in Kobe for the first time we decided to eat here and it was great! The cut was exceptional! We asked what are all the different cuts and grades and we decided to go with A5 sirloin! As if it melted in my mouth! I’d definitely come back for another sirloin! Remainder of the course was also really nice!

Asked the hotel concierge service to reserve a table for 5, as there can be a little queue. Each of us chose the Wakkoqu - Special Selected Kobe Beef in either the Sirloin 250g or Tenderloin 220g. I went with the latter. If you're concerned on the cost vs amount of beef you'll be getting I wouldn't be too worried. The set menu is served along side vegetables and a few appetizers. Beef isn't served as a steak, instead it is carefully and purposefully cut up into different pieces to display the subtle flavours and textures of each piece. It is honestly, the best, piece of beef I've ever had it. People who describe Kobe beef as melting in your mouth, it does. The interior and ambiance of Wakkoqu add to the wonder of the beef. Staff and chefs are all to kind to make the experience better. A must visit!

After 10+ years, it’s my second time here and still as wonderful dining experience as the first. They do explain which ones are a better quality Kobe beef as there are cheaper menus with beef that’s not Kobe beef to suit all budgets. They catered well for our family with kids and the portions were perfect. The chef knew some English, enough to explain to us our meal and the waiters were very attentive. Definitely amazing quality melt in your mouth beef but also very pricey. Many local Japanese customers too while we were dining. Reservations recommended to avoid disappointment.

Years ago, we had a fantastic experience at the original Wakkoqu location. The beef was so tender - it literally melted in your mouth. At this location, the service was good but the beef didn't taste anything like A5 Kobe beef. We had the sirloin and the tenderloin. Both were tough, even the sirloin, which was medium rare. It was definitely a disappointing experience and we doubt that we were actually served real A5 Kobe beef. The experience was not worth the exorbitant amount that we paid.

We had a fantastic dinner at this place to celebrate our wedding anniversary ❤️, the chef and staff very friendly and they explained to us how to enjoy our Kobe beef in a different way. Highly recommend this place, FYI you have to book the spot in advance. This is our second time been to this place in 2 years, can't wait to visit this place in the future again.

Amazing Kobe Beef! They explain the menu and grades of beef oer option. The order we selected consisted of a several course meal with A5 served throughout. Despite what I believed, they actually served a lot of food and I left very full. Most amazing meal I've had!

We came here for lunch and we were ripped off. Not only was it expensive, it was terrible beef. It's better than beef you get in other countries, but definitely not Kobe beef (check the marbling), and it definitely did not taste good. The chef told my friend who wanted his meat well-done that he only does it medium rare. We paid more than 9000yen for a set lunch each because they kept asking us if we wanted things like wine and garlic rice without letting us know there were extra charges. Service was also oppressive and pushy. There are much better restaurants at Sannomiya, don't come here just because it's close to Shin-Kobe station. Truly the low point of our trip to Japan.3

This place is an absolute gem and perfect if you are just passing through Kobe. My boyfriend and I wanted to try Kobe beef and heard about the awesome lunch special here so we had to try it out. For around $60 USD you get a cut of Kobe beef with soup, salad, vegetables, dessert, and beverages. All prepared right before you. The chef even tells you how to eat each slice of the meat. Superb meal, excellent service. Great deal for lunch. Highly recommend.

The food is and of itself an amazing experience. Locally sourced A5 quality beef prepared by experienced chefs right in front of you. The atmosphere is refined and tranquil; perfect for a quiet date. The course we did, the "Wakkoqu" kobe beef course, was a full course meal inclusive of dessert and coffee. Each course was brought out and/or prepared on the teppan as you ate. The staff were extremely attentive with timing the courses perfectly. The chefs and wait staff speak English well enough that anyone who speaks English will have no problem communicating. Cost: Wakkoqu kobe beef course: 14 200+ tax (15 620) per person. Wine: beaujolais village 4220+tax (4642)

1- to make a good steak, it has to be at room temperature. I asked for rare steak which meant I was served a steak where the middle was cold, as clearly they just took it out of the fridge. The quality of the meat was good, however the taste didn't reach its potential. 2- the menu said (bread or rice) which was not included in the menu and was extra as it was in (parenthesis). Garlic rice was good, but the menu was not clear. 3- I booked online our table which meant I already paid around 33000 yen. I had to remind the restaurant as they were about to charge us again for the full amount. 4- service was slow and staff were confused. Not recommending this place.

Kobe beef in Shin-Kobe! A culinary dream come true. We discovered the restaurant in 2015 and made sure to come back with my parents in 2019 to celebrate Japanese food at its best and conclude our Japan travel here. We went for the full meal with soup, wine and desert. All was good, but the meat was from another world, of course. Just watching the cooking process is an experience. Garlic slices, veggies, the trimming of the beef. And then a well guided tasting (first, only salt, then...). You need a little patience. But the result is just breathtaking. Thank you sooo much!

We came here yesterday for the Kobe Beef lunch special which came with vegetables, rice, potato soup, tea, coffee, dessert and an amazing portion of Kobe beef. It was less of a lunch and more of an experience which was definitely worth it. Coming on a weekday, it wasn’t busy at all. They were very accommodating and made sure that our drink was always full. We had also informed them that this was for our 10th year anniversary and they gave a special dessert cake slice and decor to come with it! Highly recommended and will come again.

Overrated. Not worth the price. The beef served is good quality. However, the taste cannot make it at all. Dont waste your time to travel down. I ordered the garlic fried rice as it is highly recommended, seriously??? My helper can cook a lot better than them. Very disappointed with the meal!

Wonderful lunch experience for Kobe Beef but would advise reserving in advance as always full and can use Google to reserve. Their standard lunch set is the most worth it but there are other lunch that cost more for more beef.

This is for me one of the best choice where to eat Kobe Beef. It is also very simple to get there because its 5 minutes walk from the local Shinkobe station (where you can also find a very nice japanese food wall mart very interesting). The beef is simple fantastic and having your own chef cooking it in front of you makes the experience even better. The usually had a very nice lunch menu for the half of the normal price but please check and above all book in advance (and this also for the night). You can easly spend your night in kyoto and going there just to eat the food (kobe town is not very nice). Do not miss it. Value for money is good and kobe beef is really part of the japanese experience.

Highly recommend! My mum and aunt really enjoyed the food and experience last week. (I visited several years ago for lunch and still think about the Kobe beef and garlic fried rice. So glad the quality and value has stood the test of time. Hope I can visit again next time I’m in Japan!)

I have been to several Kobe Beef places in Kobe and keep coming back to Wakkoqu. Since my first time here about ten years ago they have been serving amazing quality Kobe beef with perfect service. They talk to guests about which bite to best taste with pepper, salt, mustard, etc. Their lunch menus offer the same quality you can find here in the evenings at a very fair price.

Virgin kobe-beef-cook-in-front-of-you experience. We were late due to missing a shinkansen train but they still served with a smile. Very good experience and food. Felt like a "Be My Guest" moment when they cook the beef. For your reference set lunch is approximately 7000 yen, but if you order any of their steak it'll automatically comes with veggie and rice as well (some differences in whether it included soup or not).

A great place to go to sample Kobe Beef. The atmosphere is very authentic feeling and the care that goes into the preparation of every meal is amazing to watch. A single piece of Kobe Beef is prepared in multiple ways due to the varying fat content of different sections of a single cut. Just delicious! They also have vegetarian and seafood options.

(Translated by Google) The restaurant is located next to the Shin-Kosho Shin-Kobe Station. The transportation is very convenient. It is not a problem for Chinese-speaking staff to order food. The service itself is also courteous. The high-priced special Kobe beef is really delicious. The above is the advantage! But the shortcomings came. First, the chefs who fried the steaks were all the same, but the master did not care to deal with our beautiful steaks of expensive pine. Although there was a familiarity at the beginning, in fact, three points, five points, The seven points are all at the same time, and this time there is a little lunch package and a special package. The latter is about three times faster than the former, but the quality of the midday set meat is really different. It can only be said that it is going to have lunch. Package, it is better to take the money to eat the general and beef, do not need to run this 趟 eat Kobe beef!
