Service is reasonable by Western standards, but the rooms are badly in need of an update. Despite asking for non smoking room 3 months in advance of our stay, we were put on a smoking floor and the smell of the hallway was overwhelming. This stale smoke smell pervaded our room making it difficult to sleep. Many choices for breakfast but all substandard. The rooms are quite old in style but only in a dingy way. The overall feel is of neglect. Pillows have some kind of hard substance in them like beans or rice. No normal pillows available. The rooms were a bit larger than the Japanese standard. Quiet area quite refined from anything interesting, but the port liner train gets you downtown in 10-15 mins. I would not stay here again, the nearby portopia is much better, although it lacks any Japanese personality.

Very old hagged hotel. Wall papers dropped out. Staffs cannot speak English, it’s ok but they are very discriminating. The staff assigned us foreigner at the end of the aisle , last room far away from lift and next to their worker’s store room but Japanese they assigned near to lift. Furthermore, the hotel occupancy rate is low, why the hell assigned us last room. Please don’t choose this hotel! You will regret!

Rooms are large, but quite old and basic. It seems to be clean, but all the furniture is so old, that it looks warn out and dirty. The floors stink of cigarette smoke and unbearable smell of air freshener that tries to conceal the smoke stink. Even if you are in a non-smoking room, the smell from the corridors gets from under the door. We had to have a towell stuck under the door to prevent the smell to get inside. There is no real bar in the hotel, neither any other facilities. Considering the price is not the super cheap, I think you can definitely find something nicer for the same price.

This hotel is excellent for anyone looking for a time capsule experience. It is stuck in the early 1980s, with all the period equipment and vibes. It isn't the cleanest or the newest, but the service is excellent, the rooms are large and the location is convenient. It is also a great value. Ideal for anyone that enjoys that classic Showa flavor.

I only dined at the Teppanyaki, service excellent, beef was melt in the mouth like I've never ever tasted, beer was excellent and good wines too

We shared a double room but only got one key among two of us. The room smelled of smoke, quite unpleasant for a non-smoking person. Ironing and washing machines available on site.

The building outside looks modern, but inside time has stopped some 20 years ago. This hotel will benefit from complete interior renovations: Rugs are dusty and spotted, bathroom is worn, mechanical door locks, old electrical control center with fixed stations radio and old push buttons to turn off room lights, very limited control over air condition (only fan speed control, no temperature controls) etc. However, the staff does its best to keep it clean, staff is welcoming and helpful, and wifi has a strong signal and is fast. So I would consider it a basic hotel with aa good location and reasonable price.

Comfortable place to stay. Facilities and service are up to expectations. Convenient for our school symphony from Malaysia to participate in the Osaka International Arts Festival (日本大阪神户国际艺术节) held at Kobe International Conference Centre.

I checked in after check-in time and was shown to my room, but the room was not ready. I was made to stand and wait in front of my room with my luggage in my hand. That's not possible. The leader of the cleaning staff never apologized. Lack of hospitality. It would be better to stay in another hotel. I don't want to give them even one star.

Old style hotel, very functional. Staff is very helpful and super nice. It’s close to the airport and the conference centres.
