The Ferdowsi Museum is located within the Ferdowsi Mausoleum, where it houses a collection of exquisite artifacts. The museum showcases various illuminated manuscripts, capturing the essence of Persian royal literature. These manuscripts beautifully depict the epic tales of ancient kings and feature diverse paintings that bring these heroic narratives to life. Additionally, the museum preserves a collection of ancient artifacts, providing a glimpse into the rich antiquity of the region. The Ferdowsi Museum stands as a testament to the enduring legacy of Ferdowsi and serves as a cultural treasure trove, inviting visitors to explore the grandeur of Persian history and literature.

Located at unattractive suburbs if Mashad, the tomb and the museum are acceptable but the facilities and garden are mediocre. I expected more from the tomb of one of the greatest Persian poems. The environment was dead and desiccated.

Good museum with authentic artefacts. Minus one star, because the shop doesn't have any books in English.

A good museum. The museum is divided into four main sections: The first section of the museum is devoted to artifacts obtained from archeological excavation in Tous which include a variety of pottery pieces from the early Islamic era, Tasnim News Agency wrote. The second section is focuses on the spirit of the epic Shahnameh displaying a shield, spear, bow and arrow. The third section shows artifacts, particularly glazed pottery from the period of Ferdowsi. The fourth section contains a variety of objects such as rugs, carpets and signs associated with Ferdowsi.

The main building of this museum was renovated by Iranian Great Architect Hooshang Seyhoon and named the "Millennium of Collection of the Shahnameh" by UNESCO. Ferdowsi is widely regarded as the preserver of the Persian language and of pre-Islamic Iranian cultural identity. Among all the peoples conquered by the Arabs in the seventh century, the Persians are the only ones who can boast a significant literature in the indigenous language they used before the conquest thanks to Ferdowsi.

The history of the construction of Tos Historical Museum dates back to the Pahlavi period and the year 1343. This museum was built by Hoshang Sihun, who was a very professional architect, in 1347 as a traditional teahouse and a performance by the people who narrated the Shahnameh, but years later, in 1361, the building of the Ferdowsi Museum in Mashhad, as well as donated objects From the city of Tos, it became the current museum. The area of the Birch Museum is 600 square meters and its exterior is designed like the architecture of the Achaemenid period. In general, this museum consists of 4 different parts and each of these parts are separate from each other. In the 70s, a plan for the renovation and change of the interior spaces of the museum was considered by the cultural heritage of Mashhad, based on which the concrete cover of the building was covered with red and yellow bricks, and a completely traditional and different view from the original design of the building was designed. For the construction of the museum, resistant materials have been used in its interior spaces, so that its walls are covered with white bricks. The floor of the museum building is covered with white stones and yellow stones are used to show the lines of the previous plan. This building was reopened as a museum in 2004 and is still active. People who are interested in the Shahnameh can visit a manuscript of Ferdowsi's Shahnameh, several stone inscriptions, forty antique lamps and a copy of the Shahnameh that is exposed to visitors inside the Birch Museum. 😠 Inhumane way to keep animals. Wild animals should be where they belong - in the wild. Unless you want to teach kids about keeping animals caged and miserable for human entertainment. Would recommend taking them to an amusement park instead
