In the collection of Astan Quds Razavi, there are two large clocks from the past periods, each of which is located inside a tall tower. One of these clocks is located above the western porch of the Islamic Revolution Hall and the other is located above the south porch of the Freedom Hall so that it can be seen from a distance.

(Translated by Google) The old clock of Azadi courtyard of Imam Reza's Holy Shrine is a large and old clock that is installed in the tower above the south porch of Azadi courtyard and overlooks the portico of Imam Reza (RA). According to the report, this clock, which is the first and oldest Astana clock, was made in Manchester, England, and was dedicated to the holy threshold of Hazrat Reza (a.s.) by Amin-ul-Mulk, the chancellor of Iran, during the time of Nasir al-Din Shah Qajar. The date on the clock bell shows the year 1893, which is 110 years ago. This clock was first located in the tower above the west porch of the Islamic Revolution Square (Old Square) and about 54 years ago, it was moved from there to the top of the south porch of Freedom Square (New Square), i.e. its current location. Apparently, the reason why the clock was moved to this place was due to the settlement of the foundations of the front porch of the Islamic Revolution Hall, due to the heaviness of the clock and its bowls. It was decorated. Then, they replaced this clock with the linear clock that the late deputy Abdul Hossein had bought from Hamburg, Germany. It is interesting to know that the clock of Sahn Azadi was initially set by a large manual handle, and after electricity came to Mashhad, this clock was also electrified. This clock is currently working with an electromotor that is tuned once every 42 hours and if there is a power cut, its tuning will be active for 42 hours.

Imam Al-Rida, peace be upon him, was known for being unique from the people of his time in his breadth of knowledge and knowledge, and various sects and religions testified to him, and there are many narrations about that, including what Abdul-Salam bin Saleh Al-Harawi said: I have not seen anyone more knowledgeable than Ali bin Musa Al-Rida. Peace be upon him, and no scholar saw him without giving him testimony similar to his testimony. Al-Ma’mun gathered in his councils a number of religious scholars, Sharia jurists, and scholars. They spoke, and he defeated them over the others until not one of them remained who did not acknowledge his merit, and acknowledged his shortcomings. On this occasion, we at Al-Kawthar satellite channel congratulate the Imam, the owner of the era and time, may God’s prayers be upon him, the Islamic nation, the great religious authorities, and all the believing men and women on the anniversary of the birth of Imam Ali bin Musa Al-Rida, peace be upon him.

Beautiful, calming and glamorous. The colors in the textiles are exceptional. I really felt deeply calm and comforted just by looking at it. The whole space around it is like this. Specifically at night. I, personally, prefer going there to watch its beauty at night. Also it is much less crowded in the middle of the night. I recommend watching it from "Azadi sahn."
