One of the best smoked meat sandwiches i have ever had! The fries were so tasty and just completed the meal. The burger was good too but man, hard to beat that smoked meat! We got the black forrest cake with an extra ice cream and it was the perfect way to end the meal! Definitely stop by and check it out!

Had a lovely experience here overall. The food was delicious and portions are enormous. My favorite was the Mont Royal burger. The OG burger was good but I wasn't a huge fan. The pouting was nice and the onion soup was good. Our server was wonderful and very accommodating to our request for a birthday cake. Only complaint was that the pricing for some of the non steak dishes could be considered high but it's a prime location so i would recommend the steaks for best value.

Has to be the best sandwich I have ever had . The service exceptional.. we tried the spaghetti bolognaise with smoked meat..portion sizes are huge. We had no room for dessert. We had a small baby with us staff was very accommodating. There is changing room in the back for baby.

They have a very friendly and welcoming staff, wonderful atmosphere, the waiters are always present and quick with bringing what you asked for. The food is so good, tasty, and delicious. I went there with a friend for dinner on Friday. It was still evening around 6:30 pm. I arrived earlier than my friend. I asked that I need a table for two people. The waiter asked me to wait until my friend is there then we can be seated. I was a bit surprised coz there was plenty of tables still available and usually you get seated even if others are not there yet. However, the stuff generally and our waiter were nice and professional. We orders fillet Mignon and ribeye steak with mashed potato and French fries. The fillet Mignon was so juicy and tender but really small for its price. The cocktails were so good (raspberry with rum and Paloma (if I am not mistaken with grapefruit). The strawberry cheesecake is big, creamy, and not that sweet which is perfect. The menu is rich and they have plenty of good choices. I believe they have a special bread they use for their sandwiches. The place got really crowded and noisy after 7 but it was ok as it is always crowded. All in all, this place is worth it especially for steak lovers and smoke meat lovers too:)

Been coming here for years. The Alamo burger is my go-to choice. It seems to have shrunk over the years, but it's still a great choice! Try their Reuben blonde beer, it's very good! Well located. And not too far from the Bell Centre, if you want to grab a bite before the Canadiens game.

Reuben’s was recommended by a friend, and I don’t know how I’ve gone through life without trying a Smoked Meat sandwich as good as this one! The restaurant is cozy AF, with amazing staff that are super professional. The ‘76 sandwich in a brioche bun and Swiss cheese is a sandwich like nothing before. With the quantity of meat inside, it’s amazing that you don’t feel full after every bite, and you keep wanting more! I’d recommend the ‘76 to anyone who’s looking for a guaranteed good meal. Try this place out!

The smoked meat sandwich was filling and absolutely delicious with a very generous serving of fries. No complaints, you will have a great food experience here. 2nd visit: Consistency is what separates good from great. Sandwich same taste, good portion, fresh and fast. Good portion of fries. Onion soup very consistent and same great taste.

For $25 I better enjoy it. I did. It was juicy and moist and the taste was excellent. I could only eat one half and took home the other part. A friend recommended this place and happy he did. I would definitely return. Love how the meat is wrapped and it comes off as being tender. Enjoy!

Divinely delicious! Quality is perfection, portions are large. The desserts are out of this world. Pure joy. Drinks are so thoughtfully crafted and make a lovely pairing. It is on the pricey side, but worth it. If you want a fat a switch this is the place to go!

Very tasty quality and big plates is what I can describe here. The steak was perfectly cooked, poutine had plenty of sauce, meat and the portions very generous. The smoked meat was very tasty and not overly salty. Staff very friend and will recommend some items from the menu upon request and there was no disappointment. We had no room for dessert but the strawberry cheesecake is a best seller and it looked amazing.

The best smoked meat sandwich in town. I always always order the original Reuben’s sandwich and I never regret it. Each time I try something new with it too. This place just knows what it’s doing and that’s why it’s always busy. Their cheesecakes and desserts are out of this world too. The service is always quick and the waiters are all super nice. The hostess was also very kind and she let us choose a window table because it was available. I love how big their portions are, especially for the price you’re paying. It’s really one of my favorite Montreal restaurants!

Service was fast, polite and very professional. The food was great, I had a smoked meat sandwich on rye. My wife had the poutine with smoked meat. This was listed as an appetizer but it was a full meal size. The restaurant had a cool vibe.

First time trying this restaurant based on my cousin’s recommendation. We of course ordered their smoked meat sandwiches, which was tasty, but then their medium cut (medium fat) was still quite lean. My daughter ordered the pulled pork mac and cheese, which to my surprise was very good, and the mac and cheese is not too heavy like some other restaurants. Overall a good experience, but the price is a bit high for the sandwiches, and unfortunately we felt thirsty after the meal, which we didn’t feel the same way after eating at Schwartz’s.

Wr wanted to go to the Reuben Delicatessen in the basement (corner of McGill and Ste Catherine), but it was closed for renovation. Tuis location is not far, however the food is a bit different… I have never been disappointed with the quality at Reuben’s Delicatessen and it has been consistent over the years. Although the service was excellent, the Deli & steakhouse is not comparable in terms of quality. My spaghetti was not as tasty as the one at the Delicatessen location and the Grill Cheese was ok, but not anything that would make us go back. The best thing we had was the Onion Rings as starter! Overall average when it comes to quality-price ratio. The bill: $107.51 + tip for lunch is on the high end, and we would have expected a near “wow” experience. Hopefully the Delicatessen location will reopen soon and the quality will still be there!

This was my first time here. We went with a group of people prior to the hockey game. We all enjoyed our food some pics of the food below- sliders and the Delmonico sandwich. They have a good selection of food- sandwiches, burgers, steaks. The server was great- very attentive and outgoing personality. I would definitely come back and would recommend this place.

Just walking by made me want to stop and eat here. From the big sign to the juicy beef slabs in the display window, this restaurant is practically begging for you to stop by. You walk inside and the decor is so beautiful and well coordinated. It looks like the interior of a five star restaurant, but for much more reasonable prices. I had the smoked meat sandwich (duh, why would I pass on that?) and my girlfriend had the grilled cheese. Both were delicious and our waiter had some taste for the dramatics which made our experience all the more entertaining and memorable. For me, top my sandwich off with fries, coleslaw and a kosher pickle and I was laughing. I come to Montreal several times a year so I definitely won't be forgetting Reuben's. Located smack bang in the middle of downtown makes it convenient too. A+ service, Reuben's keep it up!

We had our first and last day meal here. It was amazing and the service was wonderful. I have to say we came upon this place by accident. It was a good accident. The wait staff was great. On Saturday we were lucky to get there before it opened because a line quickly formed. The food was amazing and resonably priced for what it was. Go!

This is a Montreal institution! I've visited many times over the past decade and each time I've visited, the experience has been phenomenal. As with every place I go, it's the staff who make or break the experience. At Rueben's, the staff make you feel right at home .. very friendly, funny and stellar service despite how busy they may be. If you're looking for DELICIOUS food and great value for your money, run, don't walk and treat yourself to an experience!!

The atmosphere was amazing. From the moment I walked in I was greeted at the door and my luggage was taken behind the desk allowing me to dine in comfort. The food is reasonably priced and a filling quantity is served. I ordered the original Reuben sandwich and was happy to have done so. There were a lot of things that pleased me about the restaurant from the decoration to the vibe, to the atmosphere and the food. But what most impressed me was the service. Highly recommend

Pretty decent place. We had the super smoked meat sandwich and the braised short rib grilled cheese. The smoked meat was alright, but lacking in depth of flavour compared to other places in town. I had the medium cut but I found it a bit lean. Pickle was small but included with the sandwich. The grilled cheese was better, great mouthfeel and pleasantly greasy. I’d come back, but it’s not an essential destination.

Omg the sandwiches are very very delicious and huge, couldn’t eat it all. I went with my mom and aunt, we chose 3 different sandwiches and, since they are cut I half we could eat 2 half’s of different options. All 3 were very tasty!

The strawberry cheesecake was extremely good. They say it's the only one that is homemade (I don't really know where the others are made then, but still), and it had a very good balance between tasting too cheesy and too sweet. Service was great both items I've been there. The servers were in a very good mood and made our experiences better. The place looks a bit touristy, but I can't help it, since they're pretty good.

When it comes to smoke meat sandwiches, we’ve always preferred Reuben’s over Schwartz! Reuben’s sandwiches are juicier and less dense - def our preferred sandwich experience. Apps - spinach + cheese dip: a classic, great dip consistency, flavour was great - more creamy than cheesy though - onion rings: thicc cut, crispy but a bit on the greasy side - hot dog sliders: delish! snappy sausage, soft bun, perfect with the acidic coleslaw on top Mains - big bang: going to be getting this one everytime! juicy smoked meat, soft bread, just needed a tad more mustard - original reuben: bread was too toasted for me, dried out the smoked meat a bit too, but addition of sauerkraut was great - og grilled cheese: only had a bite but this was delish! The extra slice of bread in the middle didn’t seem necessary though - chicken caesar + steak chimichurri salad: also only got a bite of each but these were also great! Chicken tenders were impossibly juicy and tender, steak was cooked well + chimichurri is always a great time, heard that the sauce was a bit too watery for the salad tho! Great value and sandwiches at Reuben’s, highly recommend!

Reubens is the iconic Montreal Deli. The smoked meat sandwich was definitely worth the visit. They even did a great job with the Rib Eye steak and the Spaghetti. Highly recommended.

Reubens or Schwartz's Deli for Montreal smoke 🍖 meat. That's the question I was bothered with... Ruben's has poutine where Schwartz is apparently more authentic, but what happens when you put great smoke meat on top of delicious poutine...then you have to go to Reubens.... The Smoke meat 🥪 sandwich was good. The sauerkraut was nice and the pumpernickel bread 🍞 was on point... The secret sauce definitely did stand out so it was nice to keep me curious and guessing... You can actually buy a brisket to go, wish I was very tempted to do...the deserts were really good. If you get the sandwich just eat one half and take the other one home and leave room for one of those dessert pies 🍰.

Between the two Reuben’s that are mere blocks from one another, this is supposedly the better one. Six of us dropped by on a Saturday night at 7pm with no reservation. After an 8 minute wait, we were taken to a round table in the back, which was pleasantly a bit quieter for us to hear one another. After reading through various reviews, I decided to order the CAD$26 original Reuben sandwich with melted Swiss, sauerkraut, and secret sauce. I realized that, despite the allure of the famous super sandwich, I wanted cheese more than I wanted mustard. The dish came with thin crispy fries, which could have been upgraded to a side salad for CAD$6 more. The Reuben was delicious and filling. I ate all of my sandwich except the crusts. The meat was hearty and flavorful, the sauerkraut was mild in flavor but an appreciated textural addition, and the melted cheese was divine. I tried some of my friend’s chop-chop poutine (CAD$20), which was tasty. I liked that the gravy wasn’t too salty. And my friend said their coleslaw was good. Highly recommend!

We were told you can't come to Montreal and not try smoked meat. We had at Reuben's Deli and we enjoyed every bit of it! The atmosphere was cozy and clean; our server was very pleasant and helpful and the food was amazing. The smoked meat had the right amount of spices and even the sides were delicious. 100% recommended and will definitely come back again if and when we go to MTL again.

Food was GREAT! We had the short rib Poutine and the smoked meat poutine. So delicious. Our waiter Danny? I might be remembering his name wrong but he was awesome! Very friendly and engaging. Even offered some advice on what else to check out in Montreal. All the staff kept their mask on. We felt very safe.

If you are a fan of steaks, chicken and even good pizza,then this is the place you would really love to try. Serving is really good, very courteous, and service person was eager to help us with the menu. The ambience of the the place is very rustic, you will enjoy the bar and good food with a rustic view. Super fast service and delicious food. Came here on a Saturday night for 2 with no wait. Was seated and treated very kindly by our waitress who was then able to take our orders AND give us the food in the span of like less than 10 minutes which was insane to me. The smoked meat at medium was really good not too fatty or lean. Also loved their friss which was crispy and not too salty. French onion soup was also super hearty for a cold winter night.

Kind of reminds me of the Cheesecake Factory on decor and menu options. Their deli sandwiches were terrific. Quality of meat was tremendous. Cheesecake was unusual, it was less sweet than usual and had more cottage cheese flavor. Service was good. Their Wifi (while open) does need a password, just ask a waiter.

The real reason for my visit of course! 😅 coming from Ontario it would be a sin to not stop for a smoked meat sandwich. My meal was delicious, the meat was tender and flavourful...I had the sliders and the portion was fair, I had to take some home (and I'm looking forward to having it later). My husband had the grilled salmon and said it was perfectly cooked and moist. Would definitely recommend and visit again!

One of my favorite steak restaurant! Super tasty and delicious made to perfection. The service was amazing, cozy atmosphere. We had Spinach dip, steak salad, Mont Royal burger and Texas cheese steak sandwich.. all were amazing. Meat lover should defiantly visit!

Had to try the Reuben sandwich and Reuben's and it was yummy... however the Charbroiled Chicken sandwich stole the show for me - it was tender, juicy, and packed with so much flavour. Both entrees came with a generous portion of fries, however, if you wanted to sub for something healthier, a salad would set you back another $6. Regardless, the fries were very delicious and not oily or greasy at all - unlike other fries that often leave me feeling bloated. Lastly, the service was top notch from the beginning to the end of our experience. Would recommend!

A must is you are visiting Montreal. Delicious corned beef with medium fat and a bowl of piping hot french onion soup. No room for dessert but they do have amazing cheesecake !

I wanted to share the same experience my parents had when they used to live and school close by. It was very nostalgic. Our waitress was very attentive. We just went in for dessert of which was the list had only 5 to choose from. Bought some smoked meats which is sold at $22 /pound.

It is a remnant of the meat smoker for wild exploration and sailors, place where American cames during the prohibition, and the world famous Reuben’s sandwich. And it is better, taller, smoother, tastier and (believe me) cheaper than anywhere else. Place is chic and cosy, service ultra fast and friendly. If you can (meaning if you have space left) try also the cheesecake

No nonsense, simplicity and care. Those are the three key ingredients in making delicious food. Reuben’s rings the bell on all three. The carefully crafted ambiance is simultaneously stunning and secondary to Montreal’s signature sandwich. Local brews on tap, alongside familiar mainstream beer is a great way to stock a tap rail in my opinion. You’re not forcing the unknown for timid consumers. I love trying local stuff, but totally respect those who aren’t as adventurous. If I could give them 10/5 I would. Service is incredibly fast, friendly and welcoming to a business traveller.
