Pizza was OK for extremely thin, but no onions? Server was very friendly and efficient. But no menus at all! C’mon folks…how is this acceptable in any shape or form? Photocopy some menus at $0.01/each in black and white. And paper plates that don’t last past 1/4 of a pizza make me wonder how this place has stayed in business for so long.

When we arrived and were seated we were given no warning about wait time or how long food was going to take. Waited almost two hours for our food to finally come out. Our waitress was extremely kind and apologized every time she came by. The bill was $80, when we finally got our food it was not the same. Not crispy, hardly any flavor, no seasoning on top. When we were finally leaving my mother tracked down the manager and that is the only reason we even got an explanation as to what was going on. Management said the entire kitchen staff walked out a week ago and it was all new people, so he was really the only one who knew what he was doing back there. But he still could have directed the staff better to explain that to people, some folks there were waiting almost three hours for food. The manager and a staff member made a big show of getting our number at the end of the meal and saying we'd get a call and be properly compensated for such a bad experience, but it has been three days with no communication. I've come here for almost thirty years and I am never eating here again, I will also never recommend to my friends and customers fl eat here either. The entire staff just doesn't walk out for no reason anyways. I'm sure there is more to that story.

I used to go to the Fricano's near Kalamazoo back in the day so I was excited to try this one out. This menu was limited to pizza, breadsticks and salad, which is understandable. The food came out fast and the pizza was good if you like thin crust, but not quite as good as I remember it being. I would suggest ordering it well done if you like your thin crust crispy. I would probably not recommend getting the breadsticks, they tasted like the dinner rolls you can buy at the store, and the cheese was just kind of thrown on top. The atmosphere was very casual but the view was nice. If you are looking for a quick place to take the family, this is a good option, but in my opinion, there are better pizza places in the area.

To say this pizza is bad, is a gross understatement, emphasis on the gross. After the first bite, the pizza coated my mouth with a bitter oily film. If I could give negative stars, I would. The cheese sticks were decent compared to the pizza, but only because it didn't leave a bitter taste in my mouth. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemies. I've had bowling alley pizza better than the greasy, hot garbage they call pizza here. Absolutely disappointing experience, with the paper plates and salad bowls, and condiments that you'd get from fast food. Complete waste of time and money.

I have never had a worse pizza. Be sure to check the lacking menu before dining here to see if you like their six topping options and only thin crust pizza. Make sure you order extra pizza due to the thin crust, we all left hungry. The thin crust was floppy and filled with grease, very difficult to eat. The limited toppings was disappointing. We ordered cheese breadsticks and only the center ones had cheese. Also ordered a margarita and it was a syrup, sugar rush, that we didn't even try to drink. The resturant does have a nice view, but not nice enough for us to return.

I’ve had Fricanos pizza since 1955. Tonight I had the worst - WORST- pizza ever! Ordered pepperoni and double sausage. Got just the opposite with microscopic cheese - cold and dried out. The bartender couldn’t find our order - then it suddenly appeared - cold. I love their pizza and look forward to having it. DISSAPPOINTMENT!

We are visiting the area and selected this place based on the reviews. We were incredibly disappointed. There were no menus so that was very confusing as first time visitors. Our cheesy bread sticks tasted like cleaning supplies (my husband's words). The pizza was ok but very bland and way too greasy. And it was honestly pretty pricey considering they don't even give you real plates. I gave two stars because our server was decent and we liked the view.

Our waitress was fabulous, but the quirky restaurant policies mean we will not return. We asked for extra sauce on side and were told "they don't do that"....even offered to pay extra. Still a "no". Then the limited topping menu and the pizza flavor doesn't warrant the "take it or leave it" mentality the owner seems to have. We won't be back....we'll be "leaving it" and spending our $ elsewhere.

I would strongly advise seeking your pizza from alternative establishments rather than this one. It's not due to the quality of the pizza itself, but rather the practices of the owner that have left a negative impression. Exploring other pizza options would likely provide a more enjoyable experience overall. We had the opportunity to meet Ted, the owner of the restaurant, and unfortunately, our experience with him was quite unpleasant. During our dinner, as the table discussed how warm it was, we inquired about the possibility of the air conditioning being broken. The waitress informed us that the AC was functioning but that Ted, the owner, had a policy of maintaining the temperature at a specific level (78 degrees, specifically) during the summer, with no adjustments allowed. Both the staff, including the cooking staff, and the customers have expressed discomfort due to this policy. We requested to speak with the owner, and when Ted approached our table, he initially seemed friendly. However, his response included an elaborate story about the broken AC, which left us feeling frustrated. When I mentioned that it would have been considerate to inform customers, particularly because my father-in-law is battling cancer and excessive heat is detrimental to him, Ted abruptly declared that I was not a nice person and that we were not welcome back. I responded by stating that we had no intention of returning. Shortly thereafter, Ted returned to our table and offered us the choice to either leave immediately or pay for our food and depart. We expressed our desire to finish our meal and settle the bill, but he appeared displeased with our response and restricted us from ordering anything else, aside from water. This unfortunate incident occurred solely because we expressed our discomfort with the temperature at the establishment.

I honesty have no idea why this is rated at 4.2 stars. This review is in response to not one, or a few, but multiple disappointments. My family and I have ordered food here in the restaurant, and to take home. Each time the pizza was very greasy with a minimum of toppings - for a near premium price. Service is a little slow, and they do not substitute any items. My wife and I have been here for many events (weddings, retirement, local fundraisers). The service was very poor each time. Food was, again greasy and lacking toppings, and also took a significant amount of time to arrive to the events. MORE than one occasion - multiple tables of several people were not fed at all (other tables received food until the 'time was up'). All occasions the food was greasy lacking in toppings, and/or cold coming out to the party. A table went to the kitchen area to ask if more food was still being served with 3 hours of the event left. Multiple times the staff has started cleaning up and taking away event items (food or drinks in front of guests still eating, dessert items, water glasses) HOURS before the event ending). Staff has been rude during events (asking for water); and the party purchasing services has felt 'dooped' for at leat 3 of the events we have attended. It appear that greed has overcome whatever this facility used to be, and that's really sad & disappointing to those that believe the advertising. Just a warning to those that seek an event center or meal by the lake.

I thought everyone was so nice and made me feel comfortable. Except for that I bought some anchovies and didn't get them with my 2 pizzas. My son and I enjoyed our own personal pizza!!

HORRIBLE OMG. Literally had better service at a 1 star restaurant. The staff is so rude and the cooks are musty. They cut our pizza with used scissors. 🤮🤢🤮🤢

Fricano's was the perfect end to a long day. Taking myself on a solo dinner date after finishing work ended up being the best decision I could have made. When arriving at Fricano's I was a little hesitant to go in due to the fact that they closed in an hour and I didn't see very many cars in the parking lot. I was a little nervous that the servers might be off put to somebody coming in an hour till close when they weren't very busy. But this was not the case Walking into Fricano's I was greeted by the most upbeat friendly bartender I've seen in a long time. I think the bartender's last name was Lawton, I'm not a hundred percent sure. This was a very friendly young man and he was honest about his drink making skills, 😉 which were just fine may I add. I sat at the bar ordered a pizza and a rum runner I specifically think it was called a red-white-and-blue rum runner but I could be wrong on that. I did not feel rushed nor did I feel out of place. The bartender offered friendly conversation but was not overly talkative. The pizza was absolutely 😋 delicious 🤤 I had been craving a Fricano's Pizza for about a month and sure did hit the spot. If you like pizza that's thin-crust you will enjoy this pizza. Has your basic toppings that you can add to the pizza. They do not have parmesan cheese for the pizza so do not ask or make sure you bring your own. You can dine in or you can get takeout. The atmosphere is laid-back but not raggedy. You can dine in this restaurant in many different forms you can use it for a fancy party or you can come in after a football game it can lean left or it can lean right either way you'll fit in. It's a very chill atmosphere overlooking the water quite relaxing. It is wheelchair accessible there is a large parking lot outside. Fricano's is delicious and always clean you must dine here.

We waited 1 and 45 minutes to receive our pizza. We asked several times what was taking so long with no explanation, to what was going on. The staff was amazing. I was told when I left that I would receive a phone call from the owner. Which I did not ask for they came to me and ask for my name and phone number. I never receive a phone call. The pizza was awful on top of it

Great family dinner tonight! Tried the new cheese breadsticks, very good! Ted (the owner) treated us to his new Greek pizza which also was very good. Thank you, see you soon!

Such a disappointment. I've eaten here years ago and their pizza was pretty good. This time there were almost no toppings. Only half the pepperoni they used to have and minimal other ingredients just in the center. Also, the cheese was nearly non existent. The bread sticks were tasteless as well as the marinara that came with them. I could have gotten a better, tastier meal at Little Cesar's for a third of the price. Won't be back ever again.

Sorry, but I was so disappointed in Fricano’s. Nothing had any flavor. The pizza was supposed to be thin and crispy, but it was so greasy that the crust was soggy. They only offered 12 inch thin crust pizzas and had about 5 toppings to choose from. The breadsticks had no flavor despite being served dripping in butter. The only thing that had taste was the one thing we didn’t want to have taste…the water. Maybe that’s how all Muskegon water tastes. The only reason I gave this place two stars is that the building it’s in has a lot of potential.

Decent food (pizza was soggy and hard to pick up) but their bartenders clearly don’t know how to read ID cards for holographic markings. I was born in 2000 so I am 22, one month away from being 23 and showed them my ID and they tried to tell me that it “feels fake.” Laughable considering I purchased Truly Seltzers at Meijer just ONE HOUR before going to dinner, with my very real ID card, that had to be scanned in order to check out. 🤣 Definitely won’t be returning here anytime soon.

Was there the other night. Waited over an HOUR for TERRIBLE, tasteless food that cost over $75 (no alcohol). Most of the restaurant was served before us. There were five in our party. When we FINALLY got our food, some pizzas were cold, some soggy/half done. And they had run out of some ingredients. My pizza STILL wasn't done so it came 10 minutes later than everyone else even then! It wasn't the server's fault but I asked for a discount. So then Ted's (owner) wife came over. I asked HER for a discount. She said, "oh yeah, yeah... sure!" Next thing we know, Ted comes over to our table. He was stinky, dirty and loud. He had been working outside spreading bark. Got a glass of wine (unlikely it was his first one!) from our server, never offered anyone else anything, and proceeded to apparently "grace" us with his presence. THAT was our "discount," I guess. Getting visited by the stinky owner who whined about having new staff. 🙄 Terrible food and service. Don't waste your money or your time.

Terrible! No menu, no idea on prices, or size of the one size pizza. We had to eat off 6” paper plates, limited toppings for pizza. Pizza crust was not crispy. Bread sticks were hot dog buns. Asked for a box, we had almost a whole pizza left and was told we could not have a box and I was expected to put 8 slices of pizza on a 6 inch paper to take home with me. The waitress said that they were told to not hand out boxes but other customers were getting boxes to take their leftovers home. Will never come back!!

I've been a customer of Fricanos since the late 70s. This was at their original location in Grand Haven. I've enjoyed their pizza every time I've had it. Make sure, if you like a crispy crust, to order it well done.

First time ever having their pizza today.. Not sure how I felt about it. It was good but me personally, nothing to flip out about. It didn't have much flavor and the lack of choice in toppings kinda sucked but their Spin/Art dip.. TO DIE FOR!!❤🤘.. And I was super stoked to find out that they do have a Gluten Free option, so I was able to eat with my family. So that's a bonus! If asked if I was gonna come back,... Yeah, I'll give them another shot.

Great dining experience, the pizza was delicious. We got our food pretty quickly after ordering. I highly recommend the cheesy bread sticks. If you have a sweet tooth, Fricano's Sweet Shoppe on the bottom floor is the perfect place to stop at. They have a wide variety of flavors and some adult milkshakes as well!

I'm not quite sure why people love this pizza, there's nothing to it, and is just too greasy for my taste. But the service and atmosphere is good.

Ted and his team have created a gem on the shores of Muskegon lake. Great food, great service, great atmosphere, and even better views. Visit for some pizza, you will not be disappointed.

This has been one of my favorite pizza places in town for years. Sadly, I'm officially done with this business. I order a 2 topping pizza and the price has gone up this year alone $5.50 per pizza. When you compare the sized portion you get, it is officially the most expensive pizza for it's size in town. It's good pizza, but it isn't worth $17 for a medium 2 topping pizza...

We found Fricano's quite by accident while in the area. What great luck. Wasn't sure what to expect from the food based on the front of the building. What we got was the most incredible pizza! Thin, crispy, old-school. What's not to love? All with a beautiful water view.

I've been eating at the Muskegon location for about 7-8 years and prior to that always enjoyed the Grand Haven location. Today was quite different though The crust was absolutely horrible, felt very chewy doughy not the nice thin crust with the premium flower and I paid about $3 more for the pizza due to the increase. Not happy at all with this product!

  • 2/5 Steve M. 1 year ago on Google
Not impressed, the limited choice of thin crust pizza was equal to a frozen pizza from the grocery store; the place was dark and dinghy, tables too close together (covid people), servers weren’t focused had to ask for stuff twice and once had to get my own sweetener for my tea…and the price was definitely too much for what was served…

Our son and his beautiful bride just celebrated their wedding at the Hideaway Lounge. The wait staff and bartender were awesome! It was so special to us to have the owner Ted Fricano come in and say "hi". The pizza, breadsticks, and salad were a big hit. How many weddings do you go to where you get to take a pizza home? Thank you very much Ted and company.

  • 4/5 Emma S. 2 years ago on Google
Love the pizza, but... If you've never gone there it can be a bit confusing how ordering your pizza works due to them not having menus. It's always clean, friendly, and busy. The location is beautiful and so is the building.
