I’m uncertain how this hotel has a four star review... I suppose my experience could be out of the ordinary, but it’s hard to believe we’re the only ones to have an unpleasant stay. I booked this hotel because of its score, price and location. The one and only thing it has going for it is it’s location. It is very close to Universal Studios. Unfortunately, for us, that is the only thing we liked about the hotel. We found our room to be pretty run down. The toilet ran and the shower leaked all day and night. The sink was crack, as was the threshold passing into the bathroom. The water temperature fluctuated pretty dramatically while showering. The walls are paper thin and we could easily hear the neighbors next to us as well as the kids running around above us. We heard doors slamming all day and night. This made it difficult to get a decent nights rest, which is all we really wanted from the hotel. Room service didn’t actually refresh the room each day. They only grabbed the old towels and left a new stack on the counter.

I loved the location, we were no more than 10 minutes away from everything. We didn’t try the food because it wasn’t free. Price wise, it was good. Needed someone inexpensive to lay our heads for 4 nights so it definitely did the job. I was told you had to pay so I’d rather pay at a restaurant. I wish the AC in the room worked. It’s like it turned on whenever it wanted to. It couldn’t be adjusted. For 2 of the 4 nights I know we were sweating in the beds, I tried to push the button that would allow me to lower the temp it didn’t do anything. I sat for a good 15 minutes trying to figure it out before grabbing ice to cool us down. Also the resort fee I didn’t see a use for. It had a outdoor pool but that was it, I never saw anyone in it I assumed it was too cold to get in it. Inns charge for having a pool now. Other than that, customer service was great, came with towels everyday.

Nice employees, great service, the hotel was neat, the room clean & comfortable. Pool was a good temperature. Fitness room is a good size. I didn't try out the restaurant but the food looked tasty. I had to take 1 star away because the shower had to run for 5 minutes before every shower before it would get warm. I'm not sure if that was just our room or all of thr rooms. Other than that everything was great!

I would give zero stars if I could. I was overcharged for my room. I tried to explain this to the lady at the front desk, she couldn’t understand. We had an early flight, therefore I didn’t have time to go back and forth, however, I didn’t sign in the authorize charge field. I called reservations, was told she didn’t know why I was charged more, but she didn’t know how to help me. She recommended I call customer service the next day. Not only was I charged considerably more for my room, the room had ROACHES! Absolutely disgusting! Now, I’m in California for 6 night stay with Best Western, hoping for a better experience!

I cannot say enough good things about this hotel! My husband and I decided to get away for a few days and wanted to stay somewhere that was in the heart of Orlando, where we could easily access all of the restaurants, shopping and universal studios. We simply could not have picked a better place to stay. From the incredible breakfast, the bar, the café, the staff, the room, the free upgrade, the gorgeous lobby, the cleanliness, the pool, the hot tub, and many more accommodations, we could not have picked a better place to stay. Thank you so much to all of the staff at the best Western gateway Orlando for hosting us and making our trip so amazing. We will definitely be coming back to this location every time we return to Orlando .

I had reservations at a motel around the corner and the accommodations were terrible. Decided not to stay there, drove around the corner to the Best Western and Emmanuel gave me the same price for a room that I found online. He even upgraded us to a VIP room with an amazing view. The room was beautiful, clean, fully stocked with everything we needed. The staff was amazing and helpful. Will definitely be going back and staying here when we are in the are again!

Stayed here 1 night. Room was clean, lobby was nice. Parking was a bit overcrowded. A/C was struggling and def needs to be replaced. Toilet was not level and also flushed very slowly. Sink in room also only had hot and wouldn’t drain well. Aside from that it was comfortable. I would expect a bit better for over $100 a night though.

My friends and I actually stayed here twice (March 28 - April 2) and (April 18 - 23) but I wish we didn’t! I’m not sure about their other rooms, but their poolside rooms (which are significantly more expensive) are infested with different bugs! During our first stay, our room was infested with roaches. We ended up switching rooms. We gave them the benefit of the doubt, plus the staff was nice, so we stayed here again during our second trip. One of my friends started waking up with bites on her hands and wrists. I ended up going to stay with my boyfriend. But once we returned home, both of my friends that I was with discovered bed bug infested suitcases! Needless to say, we will not be making the mistake of staying here again. We loved the idea of having a room right next to a pool and appreciate the nice staff, but clearly this hotel is not taking enough precautionary measures to make sure their rooms are clean and safe. You can read in other reviews from people that cleanliness is not this hotel’s first priority.

outstanding customer service. Luciana and Emmanuel were amazing! They took great care of us. Luciana was extremely welcoming and Emmanuel went above and beyond, we had an issue with the first room and he was just amazing. I have nothing to complain, will definitely be staying there again just because of the great customer service experience we got!

Room was huge and had amazing views. Staff was super friendly. The hotel is a little older but the location was perfect being right across from the beach and close to restaurants. Loved that they provide beach chairs, towels and sunscreen for free! Also enjoyed watching the sun rise from my bed each morning. Would definitely stay again especially for the value compared to other hotels in the area.

Staff were all very friendly. Room was very clean, comfortable and stocked with plenty of towels and toiletries. A nice bar and grill, as well as a snack bar located downstairs both with great staff also. Full breakfast buffet for $13.99. Nice, clean pool and jacuzzi area. We enjoyed everything about our stay. My only complaint is that you need to let the shower run for about 10 minutes before the water gets hot. (This could be just because we were on the 6th floor and maybe the water heater is located on the 1st floor.) Other than that, everything was great, and we will be booking again in the future.

Been using Best Western hotels for years. This one was a disappointment. The website gave one price but when we checked in the price was almost double. They told me that was because they only had 2 rooms left for the night. They also hit my credit card with a "security deposit" - never had to pay that before - took over a week to get removed. Normally we get a free hot breakfast but this hotel had a restaurant and wanted to charge us almost $15 each for breakfast so we went elsewhere and got a better breakfast for less. Room was adequate but there was no shower curtain in the bathroom - water all over the floor - Damp spot on the carpet outside the bathroom door indicates the curtain has been missing a while. Will not return to this particular hotel.

We live in the area but decided to stay in Orlando for a few nights for a small getaway. We chose this hotel due to its close proximity to Universal combined with the reasonable price. Pool, hot tubs, and fitness center were good and never crowded. Most of the staff were friendly, check in process was fast. The room was average at best. Beds were very uncomfortable. Water pressure in the shower was terrible. Foul odor on some of the floors was very noticeable. They are undergoing a major remodel which made for a noisy stay. Had we been forewarned, maybe it wouldn’t have been as irritating. No continental breakfast. Not even coffee in the lobby. They do have a restaurant on site that serves a buffet breakfast for $14 a person. They also have a little cafe where you can buy coffee, sandwiches, etc.. it’s all overpriced, but that’s to be expected. Overall, it was a decent place, but I think we will stay elsewhere next time around.

Even though I only stayed here for one night, I wish I could have stayed longer. I didn't get to enjoy everything at the hotel, but the room was super clean, the check in process was so easy. And I loved the deli that they have in the hotel, I was able to buy coffee and breakfast there without leaving the hotel. I also loved the paintings on the walls. This place is great for the price.

We found this hotel at last minute and were able to book a room. The room was spacious and clean, which is exactly what we wanted. One of the downfalls of this hotel was the price. This hotel was pretty pricey, and the price did not match the quality of the room. The hotel beds were tiny and the AC did not work that great. Not the mention everything in the hotel was expensive! The price of a soda was close to $4. The hotel did offer an eating area, but this was something you paid for out of pocket, which was also pricey. This hotel was close to the major amusement parks and even offered a shuttle to the universal amusement park. You didn’t have to pay for parking at this hotel. The pool of this hotel was big and well maintained. At one point during our stay, the room next to use was playing loud music in the middle of the night. The manager was very responsive to this and the music stopped shortly after we said something. I would stay here again if I had to. Great experience.

I enjoyed staying here. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Beds are comfy enough. Location is perfect. Close to Universal but not so close that you can't go anywhere else. Decent pool area. Shuttle to Universal Studios is handy. Lots of food options at the hotel and nearby. The staff here is always inviting, friendly and helpful. I'd definitely stay here again.

Need a tip for incredible hotel stays? There's this platform I've been using. Managed to land this room, and I couldn’t be happier. Their offers can be jaw-dropping. The actual hotel itself is alright, the pool is great, rooms are clean and the temperature is perfect, and the location is actually amazing for the price. However, the staff truly made the experience. Every single person we talked to made my friend and I feel safe, cared for, and right at home. There was a small problem with a guest in the room next door, but the man who handled it, was professional and efficient, along with making sure we felt safe and comfortable within the situation. The girl at the counter every morning who makes the coffee was incredible as well. She makes the best coffee and my favorite part of my stay was getting to chat with her in the morning. I didn’t quite catch her name, but she deserves a raise. This hotel is well worth the price, and the staff is truly above and beyond.

I just stayed here for 4 days and had a really good experience. The service was phenomenal, especially at the front desk and cafe girl named Rachael Deli. Everyone always had a smile and was ready to help/greet you at any time of the day. I would recommend and say it’s a good deal for the buck. Will be coming back next year! The staff really goes above and beyond! Get to know Rachael because she really goes the extra mile to make your stay truly better!

Staff is very friendly and supportive. They make sure to find a solution for the client's convenience. Room was a bit smelling and they changed the room, credit card wasn't functioning and they accepted cash partially and many more. Especially rebeca and Evelyn were always there for us. Rooms are a bit old school type with old fashioned tap, shower, walls etc..for this 2023. I think it is an old hotel which has been revamped. But we were out for most of the time so no problems with that anyways. Coffee and thee in the room are bad and cheap, need to upgrade this. Large and safe parking available. Location is great. 5 minutes walking to international drive and alot of shops walmart, dollar tree, food houses, parks, outlet stores, gas stations etc within 15-30 minutes driving. Good for $100 per night for two persons with two beds. Can accomodate 4 persons in the room in fact. Rooms are not well sound insulated, so you hear almost everything from the next doors.

The hotel itself was definitely better than the location in Daytona. The pool was amazing, however the room... it gave me the chills a bit because the about of bugs I was killing in this room. little baby cockroaches in the bathroom floor, and wall and something else, I dont know what. However it was good location, close to universal and great food choices.

Do NOT book here, I’m writing this at 10:48 PM after getting a new room due to me killing 5 roaches in my previous room. I REPEAT FIVE ROACHES, shower doesn’t have hot water, some random curly hair in one of the beds which makes me wonder if the sheets are even clean. This place is a dump, these 5 star reviews are fake, this is a health code violation waiting to happen. Next time I’ll spend the extra money to not sleep with bugs. EDIT: My second room also has roaches, had one crawl into the sink while brushing my teeth. Checking out early this is disgusting.

Stayed here for a long visit and I have to say it was a brilliant stay. The staff are friendly and approachable and will answer any questions to the best of their ability. Rooms are clean and very spacious, they had a microwave, fridge, iron, ironing board and safe. AC was a bit outdated but did the job. The pool and jacuzzis were clean and was a very relaxing area. Location is great for restaurants and attractions

To anyone who's ever been skeptical about hotel price comparison websites, I can't recommend HoteIDuIIy.cᴏm enough. The savings, like on this stay, are tangible and consistent. Great hotel in the heart of all the theme parks in the area. Clean rooms, fun towel origami and staff were very accommodating. We crashed here after a long day of Magic Kingdom activities. So refreshing to be able to get a shower and relax without having to contact the front desk for issues.

I've stayed at this hotel many, many times for work. The service is impeccable! It's an older hotel, but the maintenance team is on it, always! Great job to the staff and management for making this hotel a great place to want to stay. If Luciana at the front desk is helping you, just know you're dealing with a great hearted person!

Honestly I booked the hotel last minute because it was the only thing available. The location is AMAZING. Everything is close to the hotel. Universal literally right next door, international drive is right there, 10-15 minutes away to downtown Orlando, and close to the shopping areas. BUT the hotel needs a complete remodel. The hallways have really low drop ceilings, outdated wallpaper & carpet. The rooms are also outdated. Toilet was LOUD and took forever to flush. Parking was ample. Saw a roach running around in the room. Wouldn’t necessarily return. Nice view from room and strong ac. A mediocre experience.

Walked out quicker than we walked in. Friendly customer service however we walked into our room, immediately noticed a roach on the wall. We live in florida so we know the humidity can be brutal and so can the bugs. However, when we pull our bed sheets up and see multiple bugs in it. Hair in the sink. Dead bugs on the floor. It’s unacceptable. We were able to get a refund. But never again!

I have been staying at this Best Western for the last several years when I have the opportunity. It may be an older property, but it is very well taken care of. The rooms are very clean, and up to date. They even take the time to make characters out of your towels. That shows that they care. Disney properties used to do this but know they want to offer you a discount not to clean your room. At this hotel from the time you check in until the time you leave they care about your stay. Great job to the entire staff.

The overall environment are quiet and clean. However the fixture may needs some improvement. Few things worth to mentioning. 1. the TV remove are not paired with TV (luckly I know how it works). 2. the smoke alarm is running out battery and keep beeping. 3. Microwave are not spinning, this needs a upgrade. Honestly if these little problems wont exist everything would be perfect.

Room and bathroom needs to be a little remolded, but didn’t really care about the hotel. Just loved that it was close to everything I planned to see and do during my Orlando visit! Also love how it’s SUPER CLOSE to the Universal Resorts and Parks!

This hotel is a great hotel for a budget stay on the cheaper days. It has a pool, two hot tubs, and a basketball court. The rooms are okay. The staff can be pushy with advertising as well. This is a great place for young people like me when you're in college! The website however is misleading. Breakfast is NOT free and the shuttle service is only to certain locations. It is also $5 per person round trip which isn't that bad. UPDATE on the bus: Do NOT pay for it. It was far from on time...we had to ask and they had to call them even after we had paid the day before and reserved a time.

The hotel could use some updates in the rooms, but everything was clean. Customer service more than makes up for the slightly dated rooms. Everyone was wonderful! Rachael in the deli is a rockstar and made for such memorable stay here. She always greeted us anytime we walked by and treated us like family and friends. John working the check-in desk was very helpful and always willing to help. I wish I could remember everyone's name's but everyone did a great job at making sure our stay was perfect.

I give this place 4/5 stars. The staff was very friendly (front desk, restaurant, housekeeping.) The pool is very large and very clean. There are 2 hot tubs which were also at a good temperature, very relaxing and secluded. We also enjoyed the country/reggae music playing in the background. Stayed in a basic room with 2 double beds. The view was fantastic! Overlooking a small ravine lined with palms, volcano bay in the background. Beautiful sunsets. The room was pretty nice. The bathroom definitely needed major renovation. Had problems with toilet and door closing but made due. This is an older building and the walls are thin which poses issues with noisy neighbors, biggest downside. If you are looking for luxury this is not the place - however if you plan on visiting Universal on a budget with or without family I would recommend!

  • 4/5 Normie L. 1 year ago on Google
Everything was beautiful and safe. I like how many attractions are nearby, too! the jacuzzi was BOMB and i had a really comfortable time here. Would definitely stay again. no sign of bugs in there. A two-king bedroom had a lot of space and customer service was just great. Everyone was so nice. There's not much food to choose from, but there are restaurants nearby. Expensive for a 7-night stay, but much worth it. There's always room for improvement.

Decided to try out Best Western Orlando Gateway for my two day trip to Orlando to visit Universal Studios. Arrived about 4 hours before check in, but decided to check with the front desk staff to see if by chance my room was ready. I was in luck and my room was in fact ready. The front desk staff were nice and courteous, and they were able to get my checked in very quickly. As for the room, it was a very nice and spacious suite. The room could use a little touching up, but otherwise it's a great room. On my way to the room, I interacted a bit with the housekeeping staff which were just as nice and courteous as the front desk staff. This Best Western certainly beats some of the other places I have stayed, even one of the BW Premier locations I tried during my short time in Florida.

Front desk people are amazing. Evert staff member had a smile & hello. Pool is awesome. Good weight room. Our room is outstanding. Super clean. You can't beat the price anywhere. Safe area, close to everything. Great place to get away to enjoy yourself. I'm just saying...

Don’t recommend staying here at all. Prices are great but they do not clean in between guests. We called the front desk and told them the windows were nasty as well as the amount of hair in our shower. The desk person told us that they no longer have housekeeping for stays less than 5 days and they just change the linens between guests. This definitely is not a good practice with COVID and should not be allowed. We should have left but we already lugged everything up to the 8th floor with our 10 month old who was ready for a nap. Something needs to change here.

VERY impressed with the customer service at this location! We booked our hotel several months in advance, not realizing that this hotel does not offer the free breakfast that most other Best Westerns do. We booked the non-refundable rate, but when I called the hotel and asked if it was possible to cancel because we did not realize the hotel does not offer free breakfast, they were extremely helpful! They gave me no arguments or hassle and said they would be happy to cancel the reservation and provide a full refund. Although you don't get the free breakfast at this hotel, maybe the customer service makes it worthwhile anyways!

We stayed at the Best Western because it was close to our destination, and I am glad we did. Everything was clean and well taken care of. The front desk was very helpful when checking in and making sure we had everything for our trip. When we bring our family down, we will absolutely be staying here. Great hotel for a great price!

I rated this hotel 4 stars. I had no complaints. I stayed three nights n four days. Location was great on lnternational drive. Check in was superb, no complaints there. Free parking we got stuff to place on the dashboard. The room price was a steal. We booked through P..... The room was clean. Bed was nice n looked like the pics. Mattress was comfortable. The atmosphere smelled ordinary. No complaints there. The place was quiet. Not everyone wore masks though. People cooperated with the elevator rules. We didn't eat there. Lots of breakfast places on lnternational drive. We sort of went after Christmas so the crowd was all over. Would l go back. Yes l would. Would l recommend it. Yes l would. Good prices.

This is my first & NOT LAST time staying! First and foremost, I had the pleasure of checking in with Christan & let Me just say that this guy is prompt, professional & works well under pressure. I witnessed him deal with an angry, not so friendly family & he kept his composure the whole way through. He’s definitely the epitome of “exceptional customer service” This place is in a great location and is minutes away of I-drive so no need to drive to get food. The rooms are clean & well kept & I would definitely recommend this to anyone whose in town who wants a homey environment!

Very nice staff. Good last minute booking. Great price. LOVE the location, parking included and amenities. Even a reasonable check out time of 11am. My only reason for losing a star was the rooms deep clean was subpar. The bed was moved and had excess dirt build up. We were also woken at 8am by construction work in the hallway. Otherwise great experience and we will be back! Just hopefully without construction.
