Always great time doing groceries with a Scottish and Irish twist. Today, we restocked on haggis, beef pies, as well as a great selection of Easter chocolate treats.

I really enjoyed visiting this store. They have such a variety of food and snacks that you can't get elsewhere in the city. They also had a good selection of clothing and merchandise too. Great customer service and prices. Would recommend checking out

Terrible business ethics. They should be ashamed of how they treated my 70 year old mother who was only trying to return an unworn scarf which they only sell there. She brought in the perfect scarf still in the bag they sold it to her in and they refused the return because she was just days late and this was around the holidays which made it more difficult to even get in the store with their funny hours. So they took 120$ from my poor mom even thought they're 100% sure it's from their store and never worn. I'll be advising my fellow European family and friends that this place has no respect for their customers, they just want to grab their money and run. Really sad human beings working here

I love coming here. To note, this location has closed. I LOVE THEIR FROZEN SCONES- they are delicious. Also a lot of great products and quality wool sweaters.

I LOVE this store!!! The staff are friendly and helpful. The aran sweaters in Irish wool are phenomenal. It's the next best thing to shopping in Dublin ☺️. I also love the grocery section for so many things. My favourites are the chutneys, tea, and custard powder like my nan used to make. The items in local tartans are fun! They are changing locations, and I'll be finding them wherever they move. I also may be visiting their west Ottawa location if there's a gap! Special thanks to Mac who helped us out a few times and was just great, and even remembered me 😁.

I’m an American but have worked with a lot of Irish, Scottish and British. They have all our favorite snacks and food. Even better is the staff. When I was fitted for a new formal kilt outfit Millie took all the time I needed. Fantastic, human and authentic connections, listening to wants, budgets and making informed recommendations. Three cheers for Millie and the team at the Scottish and Irish Store!!!

Amazing meat pies, and a great selection of Scottish sundries, drinks and treats. Their clothing there is also very high quality (but i’m not Scottish enough to rock them)

Somewhat perplexed by these five star reviews - I’m British and this is the worst store I have ever been to. Upon entry you feel as if every move is being watched. There is no music or friendly atmosphere, you can hear your own footsteps and with one wrong move it could all be over. The place is so dated it’s like stepping back in time. I imagine it hasn’t been updated in years and looking at the sell-by dates neither has some stock. Even the shelves themselves are so unappealing. You feel as if you are rooting through your dead grandmothers pantry. The only difference is you are paying extortionate prices for the privilege. The food selection seems to be an afterthought, tucked away at the back, allowing all other areas to be filled with any old tat that may have a reference to all things British. Although this really capturing the essence of a drizzly stroll along Blackpool front - hence the one star! What is the reluctance to call it the ‘British store’ rather than the Scottish Irish store considering most of the food items are made in England and they so proudly advertise the Premier League with a picture of Dennis Bergkamp who last played 17 years ago. With so few places to buy British items in Ottawa this place has the chance to be a place people want to come rather than just endure to satisfy their chocolate digestive cravings.

Came in today (Saturday) for the first time since Christmas season of 2019. Decent selection, the change around of the layout of the store however, makes the place seem a lot more empty than before. Also, the few staff working weren’t very warm/welcoming, My wife and I weren’t even acknowledged but were definitely eyeballed until paying for our stuff at the cash and that’s only because the cashier HAS to acknowledge you to serve you. Overall, we’ll come back for the merchandise but definitely not for the customer service, I could swear this place used to be more “alive” and have friendlier more welcoming staff.

There is a good amount of parking space in front of the store if you come by car. This is an awesome store located in Ottawa. I visited the Scottish and Irish Store on a Saturday. In this store there are a lot of books, flags, purses, hats, stickers, cards, pins, mugs, dish towels, vests, sweaters, mitts, ties, quilts, souvenirs, jams, teas, coffees, cookies, candies, cheeses, it just goes on. Fair prices too. Nice store owners, they will help you find what you are looking for. I can’t wait to come back in the future.

Very poor customer service. Dodgy pick up location for online purchases in my experience. Alright if you go in the store but Holy! The lady on the phone giving ME attitude when they have the door locked, the number listed to call is out of service and then she hangs up on me. WOW. Just wow.

Totally friendly folks. Everything you could want. From tartans to kilts, Chocolate to tea. And everything in between including crisps. I used to order online and they'd deliver. This is too good a place not to visit personally.

They have a good variety of goods from the UK which are difficult to find elsewhere. The owner was very helpful letting me know a shipment had just arrived for what I was looking for.

My background is Scottish and was excited to find this place. They had so many products and clothing! Really enjoyed shopping there.

We spent around $20 which I know isn't a lot. There were quite a few empty shelves but thats to be expected in that kind of store especially with Covid as a back drop. We encountered a fairly aggressive attitude especially towards my wife as she paid while she adjusted her mask. Both of the young people working were loud with each other and while I am sure that they won't miss our business I'd be reluctant to go in again if the same people were there.

Good selection of food especially in the freezers (square sausage, morning rolls, haggis etc) A little disappointed to be served by an 18 year old canadian who couldnt understand my (Scottish) accent. However decent shop regardless

Awesome place with taste of home stuff. They have all the goodies you’d want from back home. Prices are fair too. If you haven’t tried Cadbury chocolate spread, you need to. It’s nothing like Nutella. It’s not hazelnut based, it’s just chocolate spread. Goes great on pancakes especially ;) They have tons of crisps and flavours from England. My personal favourite is Walker’s Onion & Cheddar.

Nice surprise to find in Ottawa, lots of variety at reasonable prices. Great to be able to share some food from back home with the in-laws.

Found by pure chance. It was easy to go in and pick up the penguin biscuits, a few other sweet treats. There was a large stock of kilts, accessories, sweaters etc. Lady serving, said stocks were lower than usual, due to a strike, by dockworkers. The store is very dim with the lighting. Lots of jams and marmalades on shelves. Some items were fairly priced, others I would skip and wait till I go home to uk, as they were terribly expensive. Other items that were overpriced, can now be purchased for reasonable price, in Canada from Sobeys, bulkbarn and Walmart, so check out these first too. E.g. Branston pickle, Heinze salad cream. We did still spend a lot, so it's worth a visit.

We love this store. My wife is Welsh and it's the only place we can be guaranteed to find "good tea". Not to mention the vast array of other British chocolate and sweets. If they don't have what you're looking for they'll order it for you. Check it out, you won't be disappointed!

I'm delighted that this store exists. They have a lot of my favourite snacks from back home. Their home delivery service is great and very convenient, but it's much more fun browsing the store in person.

This store is a hidden gem in Ottawa if you're looking for wool scarves, knit sweaters, and anything else Scottish or Irish - including imported snacks/food, rugby/football attire, full formal dress, and boxing gloves to hang in your rearview mirror. They've even got jewelry. The clothing is usually available by season and the inventory is always churning so it's fun to drop in once and a awhile and see what's new.

Awesome selection of food and gifts from across the pond. I checked out the store for the first time, I usually go to the one in Bellscorner. Both stores are great and lots of free parking.

  • 4/5 Mitchell L. 1 year ago on Google
Nice place with some lovely stuff. You will be paying a pretty penny for it but in most cases it is worth it.

Love this place. Great clothes! Great food! Great jewellery! And really great staff.

  • 5/5 Emma S. 1 year ago on Google
Many British staples, including a range of haggis products in freezers. Clothes, food, trinkets and more. Ample parking and knowledgeable staff. A great place to come to stock up on some old favourites or to buy some niche items you can't find anywhere else. There are many high quality pieces of jewelry in addition to more "gimmicky" items.

Although I do visit, and like, both the Irish and Scottish stores in Ottawa, I do prefer this location a bit more. It seems to be stocked a bit better, with the thins I specifically are looking for. Service and attitude towards clients are spectacular in both stores and I have to force myself not to go here more often 'cause... letss face it - it's the candies and chocolates I am after.

I went in to browse and then nostalgia took over and I ended up with arms full of stuff. It's all reasonably priced and they have everything that reminds you of England. Got some Christmas shopping done too!

  • 5/5 Giovanni Di M. 1 year ago on Google
Super helpful staff and a great selection. What they don't have, they're usually able to order reasonably fast.

If you want to remember the UK here in Ottawa, this is the place to do it. Lots of British specialties that you won't find anywhere else. We stop in every time we're in their neighbourhood.

First time visiting the Scottish and Irish store! I was pleasantly suprised at the selection of food! Lots of Vegan options! This might be my new go-to place for snacks! Definitely recommend!

Great place to get traditional British snacks. Cheddar and onion crisps. Also found a Nes Zealand rugby jersey here.
