The Statue of Liberty is one of the oldest statues in Ploiești. It was brought to the country, from France, in 1876. Its installation did not begin until after the Romanian War of Independence, the statue being unveiled on June 11, 1881, on a plinth executed by the architect Toma N. Socolescu, in Piața Libertății. Cast in galvanized bronze, the work is 3.5m tall. It represents the goddess Minerva as a symbol of freedom, with attributes suggesting that freedom sometimes needs struggle to be defended.

This is my home town called Ploiesti,i can say if you want to visit Romania go ahead there is plenty to see it, you will not regret it.

Been moved in an unaccessible part of the city. Taking the freedom of being close to the statue of freedom.

Yeah, visit ploiesti if grey, dusty roundabouts with post comunist industrial architecture is your thing, Brasov is too far away, don't go there!!

I photographed the statue a few years ago and it was in the central park, where there are others. I understood that it is now in a roundabout, in front of a cathedral (if the information is correct)
