The chicken... Everything is good here but talk to me about their chicken and I will need to go. Big portions - we have never had a less than delicious meal here. Pulled pork, ribs... You cannot go wrong! Go early so you won't be disappointed as they smoke throughout the day and when they run out, they are out for the day... and ribs are HUGELY popular. Oh - and you will want to save room for the coconut cream tart - trust me.
We got the family BBQ platter for 55$. It included 4 different meats: delicious fatty brisket, pork ribs, pulled pork in BBQ sauce and very tasty salty sausages. The platter also comes with crunchy home-cut fries, creamy coleslaw and sweet bbq baked beans as well as 2 pieces of cornbread, which we found were pretty dry and bland. The food overall was ok, the only thing that really stood out was the smoked brisket and we were pleasantly surprised with the taste of the smoked Oktoberfest sausages. The service was fast and with friendly staff.
I was pleasantly surprised by the service and food here. Keep in mind that this is a Pub. Wait staff were wonderful and the food was delicious. Everyone from my party enjoyed their meal. Prices were a bit steep but worth every penny that day. Place was packed so they're doing something right. I will return. Thank you.

You won't come for the atmosphere - you'll come for the smoked food, which is excellent. I've had the brisket a couple of times and it comes with fresh-cut fries, corn bread, and sauce. Try the tangy yellow BBQ sauce for something a bit different.
First time here, ordered 10 naked (unbreaded) wings with hot sauce for their wing night (99 cents a wing , min. order of 10, must order beverage, no take-out, no doggy bags for this deal). The wings were alright, but sauce was a little sweet and overall wings were too salty, also sadly they were not warm , they were almost cold, which was disappointing. In hindsight, I should have skipped the deal and just tried.their smoked wings, which people say are good, but you can't get the smoked wings for the Thursday night wing special. Anyhow, I may give them another try and actually get something that is smoked , but overall not the greatest first impression. Place was fairly busy, got a seat right away, my server was nice, and provided good service.
Burger 10 for burger week 2024 B3A Burger 6-oz beef burger topped with slow maple-smoked pulled pork, crispy jalapeno-cheddar-spiced house potato chips, and smoky honey mayo on a classic burger bun with a bite-sized crispy mac ‘n’ cheese fritter. I was unsure if I wanted to try here but the burger did sound like it would be good. Last time here I found the food too salty but heard it's gotten better. The good - The first couple bites had good flavor, pretty sure it was the sauce. It did make the pulled pork taste good, I was a bit surprised cause I can never find good pulled pork unless it's ribfest. Lol. The chips had a good crunch. The not so good - I was not a fan of this bun. It was sorta soft, except for the top. It was hard and crunchy but just on the outer layer. One I got a few bites in the flavor was gone. The patty was larger in the middle and tasted like it wasn't seasoned at all and definitely was drier compared to the last burger. Parts of the pulled pork also lost flavor in the middle when I picked it out separately, just a slight smoky flavor. The little mac and cheese nugget, not much cheesy taste and it was dry compared to others I've had. Overall, sauce was the best part and the pulled pork was ok. Also there was a good portion of chips and they had good flavor! (they were stuck to the top of the bun when I took the picture) I think a smaller patty would have done this burger better.
The pulled pork was really good, the smoked chicken not so much , it was ice cold on the inside and not completely done.... not undercooked but not quite fall off the bone, needed probably another half hour to 45 min in the smoker , but it did taste good , fries where perfect with just the right crispness , our waitress was great , super friendly and tried to make it right
I'm still drooling thinking about my incredible dining experience at Parkside Pub and Smokehouse! The portions were incredibly generous, a total steal for the quality and quantity. Every bite was absolute perfection. From the smoky flavors to the tender meats, everything was YUMMY! But the real showstopper was the Coconut Cream Tart - heavenly doesn't even begin to describe it! It's worth going back for, and I'll definitely be returning to try more of their mouth-watering dishes. If you haven't been to Parkside Pub and Smokehouse yet, do yourself a favor and get there ASAP. Your taste buds will thank you!
Probably an off day, but unacceptable. We went in for lunch today and there was only 3 other tables. We both ordered brisket and fries which they told us would be quick. It was upwards of a 25 min wait (based on a text I sent while waiting) but likely longer (for pre-cooked brisket and fries!). Some brisket was room temperature and some was cold. The server only came back after we ate 3/4 of it (because we were hungry) and she never asked if we wanted any more drinks or refills the whole time. It was a very bizarre situation - like they just didn't want us there. When we told her about the wait and the food temperature, she said sometimes the kitchen is too busy doing prep to service current customers in the restaurant..... In 2019/2020, I went there about 10+ times for lunch and it was always great, and wanted to go again. But now I don't plan on coming back and cannot recommend this place to anyone who's looking for a high probability that the experience will be good. Maybe over 10 visits, 9 would be great, but it just takes that one bad one to ruin the afternoon. Some constructive criticism for management: If you are too busy to service current customers when there are only 4 tables, just close it down. It's better to turn someone away then to leave someone with a bad experience. (Note: the two stars is for the brisket, as even though it was cold, is was still pretty good)
Such an amazing place to eat, food was off the charts, reasonably priced, good portion size, welcoming environment!!! Overall 5 STARS will be coming back again for sure! Loved our waiter Wilson super kind and friendly
For the amount of times I’ve come for trivia and something smoked to eat, they have a great menu and the quality and efficient service is pretty consistent. For food I shared the smokehouse combo which had three choices: full wings (with their hottest sauce + blue cheese), candied pork belly and some brisket. It came with a side and cornbread and we got the mac’n cheese. It’s exactly of what you’d expect and sometimes a little better, delicious. The pork is always great! Cornbread was good, but if you like a grittier texture, this is softer. Can’t speak on the mac’n cheese much if it’s made in house, but it could definitely have some toasted breadcrumbs or extra cheese on top to add to it. They have a lot of events, and usually pretty busy, sometimes they sell out of their best dishes sooner than later and they don’t take reservations from what I’ve gathered. But they have big tables and I haven’t had to wait for one before but have come close.
We just had dinner as a family at Parkside and gosh, what a great time we had! The food was delicious - everything from the tater tots to the pulled pork and strawberry lemonade! The highlight for me was the smoked wings with Jack Daniels sauce we had as an appetizer… best wings I’ve eaten, hands down! My husband loved his ribs. And the portions were huge - we have enough left for lunch tomorrow! Thank you as well to our waitress - unfortunately I did not catch her name - for being so kind, funny and attentive! If we come back to Halifax we’ll eat there again for sure! ☺️
The Thursday Wing nights have been really great, big wings, fantastic onion rings and fries....BUT, we took my son and his girlfriend for dinner yesterday. (April 28) and the food was so over cook it was terrible. The wings were no bigger than my finger, I could put the full pound of wings in my hand. The onion rings were small and hard has a rock, same with the fries. My wife's quarter chicken dinner was still cold in the middle. We ended with boneless chicken wings. The inconsistency is unbelievable, its like you served totally different food from Thursday wing night. The people at the table next to us said the same time. I petite the servers. I really want this to be our place to go for great wings but I can see it. The service was great, friendly.
