Good breakfast and very fast service. Felt the server was a bit rushed, hence the 4 stars. They serve a great Bacon Bloody Mary. Good sized portions. Decent place for a big group as well.

This place was recommended so I took on the Challenge. For Breakfast I had CH Breakfast which had 2 eggs (cooked your way) Corned Beef Hash (choice of Hash, Bacon or Sausage) Hashbrowns and Pancakes (or choose your type of toast) The eggs were cooked perfectly, and were fluffy. Served folded (much like an omlette). The Corned Beef Hash, had some diced onions, and had a nice crust from the grill. Hashbrowns were perfectly cooked golden brown. It came with three "small" Fluffy pancakes which were the size of a young child's face, or grown man's hand. With drink, it all totalled just under $20. Waitress was friendly, and kept drinks full. Food was served very quickly. When leaving, I took a peak at their desserts (made in house) and picked up the Peanut Butter Crunch. It is a 1 pound dessert of mostly Peanut Butter, a Layer of Chocolate, and what seems to be Potato Chips for the Crunch. If you are a double stuffed Reese's Cup lover, you will certainly love this. If you are in the area, I would certainly recommend this for breakfast. I certainly hope you enjoy as much as I did.

I was very impressed with our Colonial House experience. We were in and out within an hour. Our server was great. The restaurant has a local feel, but the aesthetic was fairly modern. We were served bread with oil and vinegar, and it was fantastic! I ordered steak finger strips with fries and a side salad. The steak fingers were crispy and well cooked. I barely touched my fries. The salad was good, but a bit different. It included lettuce, a piece of celery, a baby carrot, two slices of cucumber and a piece of broccoli. I'd recommend stopping in here for a bite to eat.

UPDATED REVIEW: Revisited Colonial House on August 31st, and the experience was night and day compared to my initial visit. The Log Cabin dish is a good old-fashioned rustic American breakfast. Two well-rendered eggs, aptly seasoned hashbrowns, crunchy bacon bits, and toast. The pancakes are also delicious and happen to be large and fluffy whilst being cooked through evenly. The waitress this time, Kendell, was a breath of fresh air, as she provided hospitable service and checked in at the table regularly to ensure complete satisfaction. I am overjoyed and delighted to be able to raise the rating from a 2 to a 4 given this latest visit. I make a point to revisit establishments in which the owners take constructive criticism well and apply the necessary changes and adjustments. In this case, the owner truly ensured that all matters were rectified and left me and my guest dreaming of our next visit and a new dish to indulge in and hopefully relish as much, if not even more so, than the Log Cabin and pancakes. A big shout out to Kendell for rounding out the experience and providing memorable, hospitable service. Colonial House is officially on the food map, and I very much look forward to future visits and partaking in the ready-made soups and pies that are available in the main section by the hostess counter.

Been here for dinner and breakfast, good place to eat. So many options! Amazing desserts. Had eggs Benedict this morning, it was good (not great, better than okay). Wasn't a huge fan of the ham they used. But, ordered a mimosa and it was huge!

I had the luxury of being able to enjoy a nice breakfast at Colonial House on my day off. The service from my waitress, Tracy, was amazing and very attentive, and thank you to the cooks for getting the food out so fast at such a fantastic quality!

Love this place! We were visiting from out of state and were looking for a good place to eat. Service was fast and efficient. Our server Tracey was very friendly and attentative. Prices were very reasonable for the quality of food, which was delicious by the way. Talked to a very charming couple next to us who gave us ideas of where to site see. Would absolutely come here again!

We had heard of a "great Café" near the hospital. This is it! Homade touches of goodness make each dishe unique from anybody else's. Try a desert you've never had before, like the Fudge Square!!

My favorite place for breakfast in Rapid City. The Buffalo sausage will keep you coming back and the pancakes are as big as the moon. Friendly staff.

Stopped by to treat myself to a Pancacke Sandwich for Father's Day. The pancakes were light and fluffy, the bacon nice and crisp but not burnt, and the eggs were cooked to perfection. Arrive early because this place is the place to be for breakfast on a Sunday! Plenty of parking around back as there is only one lane out front and closest to the building along with the side is for carryout. Lots of memorabilia adorn the establishment. There's seating on the right and to the left which isalso where the bar is located. Check out the flip tab for some breakfast and lunch/dinner deals which aren't on the menu. Enjoy!

It was a good breakfast. We were here around 8.30 am. They were busy but we only had to wait about 10mins to sit down. The restaurant was not pack, it had empty table inside so I'm assuming they were short staffed like many places are now days. When the waitress took us to the table, then we were stood and wait for them to clean the table while they're many empty table there. The paper menus were a little under welming also. Other than that, the food was good.

I am from Santa Fe, New Mexico. I had the Ramblin Cajun Burger. It was delicious😋 I thought it was well cooked. Our Server Lexi was very friendly and super nice. My mom had the 7 Bloody Mary and she enjoyed it.

Usually, I eat in thinking that takeout would not be as delicious. Onion rings and fries are still crispy, and it tastes just as if you were eating there. They included a napkin with silverware, salt n pepper, and didn't forget any of my sauces. Highly recommend getting dessert, I didn't and was disappointed in myself.

This place is great! Super tasty and excellent service. I got the lasagna special and was so glad I did. Plus, the ham and cheese bread didn’t sound great to me, but I was so wrong about it - I gobbled it up!

We had a late lunch here while traveling and asked someone locally about a nice place to eat and he recommended Colonial House. He was spot on I tried the chicken fried steak and my wife had the pot roast. Both of our meals were very good. The young lady that was our waitress was so polite and her attitude was very cheerful. We are going back for breakfast in the morning. Thanks to the whole crew for the exceptional experience.

A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! My brother-in-law insisted that we get breakfast here today. If your looking for breakfast in this town, this place is Five Star in every way. Also, bakery item selection is worth stopping for all by itself. Great job everyone! Thanks! PS. Can't wait to come back here to treat my wife to this treasure!

The Food and the Service were very good. We had nachos as an appetizer. Strong recommendation. I had deep fried steak tips, sweet potatoes fries and steamed broccoli. Very good. My wife had chicken fried steak. She wasn't real happy as it was gristly.

My family and I ate here on the last day of our vacation and it was so good!! The service was great! The atmosphere was good. The restaurant was very clean. I was very impressed with the quality of food! I had a veggie omelette with bacon. It was delicious & just the right size. My husband loved his sausage and eggs. I highly recommend checking out this restaurant.

Really enjoyed the meal. Also bought a frozen meal and some soup to take to our college kid.

We were from out of state and were looking for a place with a variety of food. This place exceeded our wishes! The variety was perfect, the food was incredible! The desserts are all home made and reminded me of being at my Grandparents house. They have frozen meals and desserts you can take home. I wish there were more places like this around. Definitely worth stopping!

😠 Our Sickies experiences in the past have normally been good, but this last experience honestly couldn’t have been worse.
