Made very welcome by the staff and given a choice of seating. Fairly quiet at 6.30 when we arrived but filled up around 7.00. Tables well spaced and sanitised. Efficient service and good choice on menu. Sadly the only one left in Surrey, but luckily only 8 miles from home. Will be going again.

Went for afternoon tea, food was nice but service was pretty poor, ignored most of the time we were there. If we had paid full price would have left very disappointed.

I bought a gift voucher to share with my partner of an afternoon tea. Upon arrival we were greeted reluctantly with "you have not booked" (even though we had) and do you have your code etc etc. This did not make our experience easy. The waiter appeared to be a little 'put out' that we wanted to sit outside bearing in mind there was only 1 couple and he had to clear a table for us. We enjoyed the savoury element of the tea even though there was no choice of sandwiches apart from ham or brie. The sweet part of the tea was hugely disappointing, we felt it lacked the hand crafted feel. Sadly, I would no recommend this experience.

The service was not great and neither was the food. The waitress ignored us despite the restaurant being virtually empty for the entire time we were there. The eggs were overcooked and like rubber, bread was dry, pancakes flavourless and became effort to chew. £7 for the portion of fruit i recieved was commical. My pancakes already had fruit on them and I poured my separate purchase of fruit onto it to make it more substantial and bearable. When requesting water we got given dirty glasses and the water was warm. We then requested a larger glass if possible and were refused. Overall would not recommend for anyone to go here.

I don't often write bad reviews but this has to be an exception. The restaurant felt unhygienic and whilst the waitress was apologetic the service was lacking. Food was late and orders wrong. When we finally met the manager his attitude was rude and dismissive. I gave the restaurant atmosphere 2 stars as there was a christmas market outside which improved the rushed/frantic ambience in the restaurant.

Good service, comfortable setting just off the street, food was very good, decent range of menu and drink options. Restaurant has a high end feel to it. Was able to use tastecard for a 2 for 1 deal as we visited during the week, so worked out very affordable.

Had the worst experience I’ve ever had to endure in a restaurant. Had booked for a Christmas dinner with friends and the service and food was so appalling I’m not being dramatic when I say it ruined the event. The waitress we had didn’t care at all about us and made it obvious she was frustrated with our presence despite us being friendly and communicative. The chef has obviously given up and produced some of the saddest looking plates I’ve seen. No effort had gone into producing the food; items missing, no garnishes, plain. We did not complain however. Then at the end we were accused of being short on the bill, yet we could see they had not accounted for someone who had already paid and left earlier. The manager could not seem to understand English and simply demanded we pay. The waitress understood but made no effort to rectify and simply stood aside watching. Worst experience ever!!!

Love Cafe Rouge. Great environment and amazing little resturant. Venue is really cool. We had a voucher as a present so had a set menu which was really good. The staff are very professional. Love sitting by window and watching world pass by. We have some starters, mains and desert. Also cheeky little Irish coffee. We didn't have one by the afternoon tea looks amazing..@Saffa_foodie

Spent a lovely Sunday afternoon here, it was today in fact! I received a red letter day voucher and so I spent it on afternoon tea with prosecco at Cafe rouge, reigate. Food was good looking, of quality and taste and was good portions. Staff were friendly and helpful and always at our disposal. Had a few cocktails as well here. Would highly recommend to the French food lover and everybody else of course. Will attend again for sure.

Had a delicious meal with relatives. Relaxed atmosphere, many customers outside as pleasantly warm evening, we chose to dine indoors. We all chose different meals, chicken, duck & salmon respectively. Unanimously agreed that each dish was excellently cooked and thoroughly enjoyed. Very friendly and attentive waiter, who readily checked with Chef regarding food allergies. Definitely recommend this restaurant if visiting Reigate.

Been here twice now, for a two person visit and then 8 people visit, the staff were such kind people each time and very funny and helpful. I loved this place and would definitely go again. It can be seen as being a bit on the pricey side however it is well worth it for its quality.

I visit Reigate as my best mate lives down this way, however each time we deliberate where to eat, I force us to go to Cafe Rouge. Why? Well, its never been overly busy, the management are friendly and have always been helpful when we have the kids with us...they provide crayons and pictures and puzzles to keep them occupied. The atmosphere is always chilled and decent background music so conversation is easy to have. Seating at the tables are fairly spacious but not huge but thats not what I worry about...... I worry about the quality of food...and this is where I have to say that the Mussel Pot is absolutely FANTASTIC. I've not eaten anything else on this menu...and I dont have any reason to... so if you're keen on a good old traditional Mussel Pot ... this is a winner... and it costs just under 15 quid.

I come here regularly and have been doing so for years however I was extremely disappointed with my last visit a few days ago. I walked in and there was a waiter standing at the top of the steps just as you walk in and he saw me but completely ignored me. I stood there for a couple of minutes waiting to be shown to a table but he carried on tapping away on his device and just let me stand there. In the end, I walked around and found myself a table and sat there until another waiter came to ask me for my order. Very disappointing. You would think that with the hospitality industry having struggled as much as it has sadly had to in the last 2 years, that they would make more of an effort with their customers and yet custom seems to still be taken for granted!

Very quiet when r visited, which was nice. We had brunch. Grand breakfast and eggs florentine with a side of mushrooms. Very nice. The lady waiting on us was very efficient.

They have removed the only decent dish they had, the Salad Nicoise. The annoying thing is the dish shows up on line so we wasted a trip. Also their prices have rocketed.

Service was not great. Orders taken in reasonable time and staff seemed friendly but after that it was not good. We needed more drinks and all glasses were empty, member of staff came to clean starter plates but left one, and rushed away before we could ask for more drinks (server should have noticed all three drinks empty anyway). Had to wait a further 30 minutes before getting anyone's attention and that was only when our mains were brought after being in the restaurant over an hour. There were only 5 tables in use at the restaurant but we were on the lower floor and everyone else upstairs so it was like we were forgotten. 3 members of staff on the floor so unsure why service was so bad. When the mains were brought we also had no cutlery so had to ask for that too. Our mains were not great, some vegetables undercooked, some cooked okay, meal wasn't too hot but acceptable I guess, quite bland and unfortunately I had started to feel unwell after my starter and felt like I was forcing my main down. To top it off we tried to use a gift card which apparently wasn't working... So we had to pay the bill in full for a meal we wasn't impressed by. We only travelled here to use our gift card and we are not local so it was out of our way. Will not return and will be contacting the gift card company to check the card as it has not been used at all yet and should have a fair amount on.

Food was pretty good as was service, best of all... we were not rushed, spent a 3 hour relaxing early dinner without being hushed on.

Staff need serious training in customer service, cost of living crisis people should be crying out for business. Breakfast was a terrible experience, ordered it, 45 mins later still not arrived, when i asked about it i was fobbed off and told me its coming. No apologies and staff seriously could not have cared less. After waiting another 10 mins we paid for our drinks and walked out. DON'T GO THERE - SERIOUS WASTE OF MONEY.

We had an awful meal here today Which ruined a long awaited anniversary dinner with my husband . The cleanliness appalling , food all over the floor , messy untidy unclean. horrible unfriendly atmosphere and wow what can I say about the food .. well the worst we have ever eaten at a restaurant . The chef clearly has no passion for cooking or presentation. French onion soup I don't even have the words ... main ...a few fries and a bit of burnt chicken for £15.95 literally just that on a plate . I had a burger . It was burnt , dry , no truffle mayo , burnt bacon cheese unmelted and a pot of fries same price. I wish I took a photo to show how appalling it actually was. Disgusting food at an extortionate price . Never again . Steer clear go to Harvester ....

The food was good and the price reasonable. Staff welcoming and friendly. Floor was dirty but overall a good experience.

Great option for Reigate and easy to find as quite central. Indoor and outdoor dining available so dogs catered for too. Service has been good every time I've visited, cleanliness of restaurant is good although men's loos not as good. A good safe bet overall.

The place was less than half full and there were 4 staff working, but it took forever to get menus, then another agree to place an order, so I decided to just have coffee and not order food. Getting the bill was also a painfully long experience, so I really cannot give any positives based on my experience.

They don't answer the phone when you call to book and they say they don't when asked. So you turn up and the place is completely devoid of customers. The scallops starter I had was awful (burnt parmesan and swimming in butter) but the main course, chicken, was okay. Some of the wines weren't available either.

Positives - Waitress was attentive and professional. Negatives - Staff never answer the phone to take a booking. Half the wine list unavailable. Main menu, several dishes on the menu unavailable.

Had lunch today, the restaurant was very quiet. I ordered croque monsieur with fries and a latte, the fries were hard and cold and the milk on the latte was still bubbing when brought to the table. I asked for the latte to be changed and the replaced latte was no better. Very disappointed. Can't imagine what they serve up when it is busy, if they cannot get it right when it was so quiet. Croque monsieur was ok a bit burnt around the edges.

First visit in over two years. And with a 5 year old. Food was far better than we experienced last time. We were informed that they were short staffed in the kitchen and there was a wait. Tbf the wait wasn't that long. Service was great. Well done guys

Such a lovely experience, we enjoyed our poulet frites and delicious melt in the mouth duck. But most of all the staff were amazing, two lovely guys seem to be running the whole show alone and were really friendly and personable and clearly passionate about great service. They made it feel like a local independent place and not a chain. They were very apologetic about the earlier closing times as you need to have finished your meal by 9pm.
