I
would
like
to
thank
ALEX
(sorry
I
don't
know
his
last
name!),
the
Richmond
Hill
/
Hillcrest
Mall
store
manager
who
went
above
and
beyond
the
call
of
duty
to
resolve
a
problem
to
my
absolute
satisfaction
even
though
the
customer
(i.e.
me)
was
completely
wrong.
It's
a
long
story,
but
I
have
to
recount
it.
I
received
a
gift
card
when
I
returned
a
purchase
made
online.
Then
I
used
the
gift
card
to
buy
something
else
(online
again)
and
returned
part
of
my
new
purchase.
For
my
second
return,
I
received
a
credit
via
an
email
from
the
store.
I
ignored
the
email
and
completely
forgot
about
my
second
purchase.
In
my
mind,
my
original
gift
card
had
the
original
credit
so
it
was
a
complete
surprise
to
me
when
I
decided
to
use
it
and
I
was
told
by
the
cashier
that
it
has
zero
balance.
I
insisted
that
the
card
should
have
about
a
$100
balance.
The
cashier
called
Alex
for
help.
Alex
tried
to
trace
my
purchase
and
return
but
he
had
no
information
that
he
could
use.
I
could
not
recall
the
approximate
date
of
my
purchase.
After
exhausting
all
software
tools
in
the
store
he
phoned
the
store's
head
office.
It
took
some
time
but
the
person
on
the
other
side
of
the
line
(thank
you!)
was
able
to
trace
the
gift
card
transactions,
my
other
purchase,
and
my
other
credit.
Alex
patiently
explained
to
me
what
had
happened,
wrote
down
the
amount
of
my
second
credit,
took
me
to
the
cashier,
and
stood
by
until
the
credit
was
successfully
applied
to
my
latest
purchase
(which
I
will
not
return!!).
During
this
pretty
long
ordeal,
Alex
never
lost
his
composure
nor
his
positive
and
pleasant
attitude,
even
though
I'm
sure
he
suspected
that
I
was
wrong.
