EXTREMELY DECEIVING PHOTOS. Room was old, floors were dirty, bathroom was outdated, shower took 15 minutes to get warm. Whole place smelled like strong perfume. Elevators were tiny and definitely not safe. €100 deposit was required before checking in, scanned passports of everyone staying in the room. The area is awful. Seriously, don’t go outside after dark. Saw 4 drug deals within 3 minutes. Would not recommend staying here for this reason alone. Pay the extra $ and stay in a better location.

One of the worst hotels I've stayed at in years. They had an old man painting at 21:00 which meant every time I wanted to leave my room they would need to pack everything up (ladder, paint, mats) first. The great paint also reeked & left me feeling nauseous. Staff was unhelpful & indifferent. Door deadbolt failed to lock, among MANY other problems ( for example, no soap in the room). Truly a bad hotel. Unfortunate that the pandemic didn't cause this business to close.

One of the worst hotels I have ever been into. Their room smells so bad. I asked them to change my room but they were so rude not even refunding or replacing me somewhere else. Please see the pictures! The quality of hotel is do bad! Not worth of staying even one night

Free wifi, no free parking, no free breakfast (10 Euros per person if you want). Rooms are moderately accommodating. Staffs are fairly nice. The receptionist in the morning was so kind. The management should do better with the rooms heating system. We had to make request for heater which was delivered after request. Also , if you'd be going with a baby ' no baby cot or bed.Toilets are clean and no bath tube but shower. The location is about 19 to 20 minutes on walk from Bruxelles Gare. Well to me it was fun walking anywhere 😊. In all the experiences was okay and fair in this particular hotel.

We spent four nights here and were very happy with it. The hotel is reasonably priced and clean. The room was large and very quiet. It's a 15 minute uphill walk from Brussels Nord station through a pretty grotty part of town, but for the price, I think it's pretty good. Did not notice any funny smells and staff are friendly.

The bed is quite big and some. The room is clean. The disadvantage is they only have shower head no hand shower, so very difficult to take a shower.

My Green Uniqlo U Airism T-Shirt and Black Adidas Soccer Shorts got stolen from a room cleaning--probably from the cleaning man/lady. The first room I was checked into was not cleaned up from the previous guests and the second room I got didn't have proper air conditioning and refrigeration. I want a refund please so I can have enough money to repurchase my stolen sleeping clothes.

Lovely staff, comfy beds. Mediocre breakfast. Rooms were not well ventilated, had to have the window open which meant we heard the entire neighbourhood noises. Terrible sleep. Walls are paper thin and you can hear your neighbours talking. Had a few issues with the bathroom door and various electronics not working - staff were lovely and fixed it immediately.

Was easily the worst hotel I’ve been to. The rooms are minuscule and barely fit a bed. Service is poor and there are no windows. I had a patio door which was locked with a balcony I had no access to. Taking a shower will leave things quite humid for a few hours. There is no food and the breakfast is terrible. Room was dirty — literal hair in the blankets with super cheap sheets that kept coming off the mattress. The whole place is old and really not well maintained. I requested a change of rooms and/or reimbursement both of which were refused since I had purchased a non-refundable deal online. You can hear everyone and everything going on on the same floor, both in and out the rooms. Location seems like it’s ideal but it’s a terrible location in terms of going out for a bite or a drink, or shopping or sightseeing. You’ll have to grab the metro or walk 10-15 mins to get anything decent. I’m really not a picky person either, but I’ve seen better places in the jungles of Colombia. Avoid at all cost, there is hotel retro right next to it that seems MUCH better and along the same price

Please see pictures! Hotel is unclean and didn’t care if I saw it or not! Checked in for my 2 night stay to find my bed like this initially! Omg. Bed has been sleeper in and not changed over or clean. See pics below. Also the desks and tables were dirty and still had food stains on them. This means that the room is dirty! Unsanitary and unsatisfactory. And to let you customers see you as a hotel do this. I feel so gross walking in here. This hotel should be rated a 2 out of 5.

Location isn't really ideal as it's just on a busy road and it can get quite noisy from the traffic. The staff weren't overly friendly but they weren't rude so no complaints. The room was lovely, bed was soo comfy and the pillows are like gifts from heaven haha. We had to rush off the next morning so I didn't get to use the luxurious looking bath which is a shame but the shower was great anyway. Powerful, and hot.

Bad breakfast, fungus on the bathroom walls, bed sheets had weird stains and a noisy street. I do not recommend this place. EDIT: As a response to the to the comment of the owner, I would like to say he is wrong. He is correct in noting that I had cancelled a reservation, but wrong with everything else. I had made a mistake in the reservation, for I had reserved a room for 1 night in November, but I actually needed one in October. So when I showed up on October 10th, I had to book that night and had the reservation in November cancelled, for which I was indeed charged a cancellation fee. I bear no ill will to the hotel over this fee, despite the owner's claims to the contrary. A more extensive review of bookings would have shown this. The booking mistake was my responsibility and mine alone, just as hygiene is the hotel owner's responsibility. To showcase the lack of hygiene and the room's poor quality, I've added photos I made that night that show the room's quality. (1) Shows the fungus in the corner (2) Shows furniture in disrepair (3) shows the stains in the sheets.

Clean enough and good location. Service is awful. Room is as small as a rat house. No minibar, you struggle to get a bottle of water.

We choose this hotel based on its location. The room we were assigned had no working AC, during summer this makes it impossible to sleep well. We asked for another room after 2 days but they were booked. The front desk person was helpful and tried to troubleshoot the unit several times and ended up letting us borrow a fan. For our last night we were able to get relocated to another room that did have a working AC! The hotel is ok for the price, If we go back to Brussels we would choose another hotel.

A great hotel located very central (but to the North of City). Walking distance to a beautiful park (Botanique) which also has a metro station With direct trains to Gare Du Midi (for Eurostar). The rooms were clean and tidy with staff on reception and housekeeping very friendly. I didn't have any issues with the rooms in relation to excessive noise (I did bring ear plugs but not needed!) The only downside was that they couldn't serve breakfast due to an issue - however I will not mark them down for that... These things happen. You're close to local supermarkets, Cafes as well as about a 10 min walk to a food hall at the City 2 shopping mall. Would definitely come back if staying in Brussels.

The beds are comfortable and the receptionists were very nice and helpful, but if I come back to Brussels I'll choose a different hotel. I knew the location wasn't the greatest before booking it, I only chose it because of the price, but it wasn't really like in the pictures.

I stayed at Villa Royale during a work trip to Brussels in May 2023. I found the whole place, and service, to be inadequate for the hotel's price point and wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. The building, from the outside, is in need of repair. This carries through to the inside. My room - a junior suite - was dirty on arrival, with dust and dirt on the tables, bedsheets and floor, smear marks on the mirrors, and brown, dirty water running from the taps and shower. The room was also exposed to the noise of the street outside. I could very clearly hear people talking outside and the trams trundling by every 5 minutes. The communal spaces were also in poor condition, with bodged repairs to the staircase in particular, and items dumped in the hallway (outside my room, there was a broken industrial sized printer on the floor!) I didn't have breakfast, but feedback from others suggested it was rubbish and overpriced. I did have a coffee, before setting out for the day. The quality, of course, was also crap. In short, this place is in a state of disrepair. It seems the ownership doesn't care about making it a presentable option to guests. It is dirty, uncared for, and screams ultra budget. I have travelled all over the world, including much of Global South, and this is one of the most underwhelming hotels I have stayed at.

Nice and cozy hotel in Brussel, tram and bus stops in front of the hotel, it’s not a big hotel but it’s good enough to take you there for much cheaper than what others offer. 10-15 walking from city center and there are a lot of restaurants around the hotel.

I couldn't give more than 2 starts because we had a lot of problems. The minibar wasn't working (despite all our complains everyday), the room was smelly, glass door on the bathroom (so no privacy at all), overpriced vending machines and breakfast, outdated tvs, wifi signal very slow sometimes, the place is very noisy. On the pros side, the bed was confortable, location is good and price is ok for the area. If I would come back to brussels, I'd rather spend a little more to stay in a nicer place.

My friend and myself stayed here for 3 nights. Really enjoyed our stay. The beds are super comfortable. The hotel is central. The staff are lovely especially Dan. Dan was extremely kind and helpful. Will definitely be staying here again. Thank you Dan 😀

Worst hotel I’ve ever been! 1. After a night, We had to change our first room because the bed and the window were broken. 2. Then, the hotel gave us the next door room, witch had the same problem with the bed (super unconfortable and disgusting as you can see in the pics), the shower was broken too and the closet-hall light didn’t work properly. 3. It is an old hotel, with old furniture and it does not look clean. The only good thing was the recepcionist guy, who was very kind and also speaks spanish. P.d.: This part is about the reply of the hotel: I already said about the broken bed and the window, but when you changed us to another room and there were even more problems, it was a joke and there was nothing more to say, just waited to do the check out, because you, as owner, and the cleaners, have to know how is every room, the problems and the things to fix.

Conveniently located about 10 minutes uphill walk from the Brussels Nord railway station. The Botanical Garden is about a two minute walk from here. Small but functional rooms. The price varies a lot depending on what is happening in Brussels. A pretty decent self serve breakfast is available at a reasonable cost.

  • 2/5 K T. 1 year ago on Google
Pros: * good connection to public transportation. * decent pricing Cons: * Bad ventilation (if you shower, the room is humid for the rest of the day). * Mold in shower, inc other bathroom deficiencies that weren’t resolved. * poor isolation, you may wake up from noise in street or neighbouring rooms/corridor. * the quality of the breakfast has declined.. * there are other options in the same area with better quality & similar pricing. Will not return.

The beds are comfortable and the receptionists were very nice and helpful, but if I come back to Brussels I'll choose a different hotel. I knew the location wasn't the greatest before booking it, I only chose it because of the price, but it wasn't really like in the pictures. The room size is quite small, the electricity on one of the walls didn't work and the night lamps on the sides of the bed didn't even have a light bulb. There's a mini fridge, but when you leave the room and take the card out, everything shuts down, so you can't leave anything inside the fridge because it'll go bad, which is ridiculous. During three days the room and the toilet weren't cleaned, only the beds were made. Also, the carpet looks like it could really use a deep cleaning, since it had stains and dust all over. Two out of three nights I had to come back down to the reception because the card key wasn't working properly. If you can, avoid this place!!!

Originally expected little from this hotel, but turned out to be a good experience! The room is spacious with well-functioning air-con which cooled us a lot during the heat wave in Brussels. The toilet and room are clean with all amenities needed. Staff are welcoming and helpful. The toilet is a bit dated though you won't feel disgusted when using it. The hotel is close to the cwntre with a 10-min walk, though the district looks a bit dangerous (but luckily nothing really bad happened to us!)

Staff were professional, helpful and efficient. Room was spacious, and the bed was very comfortable. The heating was very good, and very welcome as it was quite cold outside. My only complaint was that you could hear other guests moving around and talking in the hallway sometimes, but this wasn't a big issue. Location was approximately 20 minutes walk from the city centre, and the walk felt safe enough, though I did decide to get an Uber one night (~€5)

Pretty clean and comfy. Heater and air conditioning. The walls are paper thin tho, you can hear people in the hallway, which is not very cool.

Beautiful rooms, not too loud even though it's on a rather busy street, nice breakfast buffet, friendly staff, good location, close to some parking garages. Would recommend!

Stayed here for the Christmas Markets last year. The staff where brilliant dont have a bad word to say to about them. Gave us great advice about getting around the City and places to go and see. I would highly recommend anyone going to Brussels to have a look at this hotel. Close to underground and transport to get in and around the City. Just across the road to the Botanic Gardens it was in a nice area and not too far from the other sites and the Christmas Markets where only a few stops away on the underground would recommend this hotel any day.

Nice hotel, very comfortable bed and pleasant staff. Inexpensive. Coralie was particularly pleasant. The Italian style bathroom needs a rethink though. Will stay another time.

  • 1/5 Domenico C. 6 months ago on Google • 2 reviews
The hotel neglected our reservation for a doubleroom with a double bed, reverting it to a room with two single beds. The hotel didn't take responsibility, so one out of five for the service. Even if you decide to risk it, beware of the super noisy street combined with poor sound isolation of the rooms: trams running up and down, ambulances or police sirens...one out of five for the location. The room furniture was slightly acceptable but with a very old bathroom: two out of five. Disappointed we ended up there
